BLAINE C. MYERS, 81, of Bloomingdale, OH, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Dixon Nursing Home, Wintersville, following a lengthy illness.

He was born August 5, 1926 in Harrisburg, PA, a son of the late Charles and Bessie (Seylor) Myers. He is also preceded in death by his two brothers, Clarence and Richard Myers and 3 sisters, Bertha Miller, Mildred Galbreith and Jean Rhoades.

He was a clerk at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel retiring in 1981; a WW II veteran of the US Army and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Reva (Larch) Myers, by two sons, Jack C. (Penny) Myers of Mingo Jct. and Tim Myers of Richmond; by two daughters, Cynthia (Mark) Blackburn of Hopedale and Carolyn (Ray) Yeager of Carmel, IN; by 8 grandchildren, Brent and Jason Myers, Christine, Lauren and Jennifer Yeager; Amanda Myers, Josh and Nichole Blackburn and Darcey Quinn and by 5 great-grandchildren, Collin Yeager, Cody and Hunter Myers, Jacob Blackburn and Caleb West and by a brother, Frank (Martha) Myers of Alliance, OH.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond, Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday with Pastor Bill Westling officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates Wintersville.

George Gatchel, Jr.
July 1, 2008
George Gatchel, Jr., 77 of East Springfield, Ohio passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at his home. George was a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean Conflict, a retired pipe fitter with Weirton Steel, and attended the Amsterdam Church of God. He was an avid dancer and was a member of the Polish Polka Jammer Club.

George was born July 28, 1930 in Wellsburg, WV, a son of the late George Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth Widdrington Gatchel. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Wilkin Gatchel and a daughter Renata Gatchel Elliott.

George is survived by two sons, Alan (Marie) Gatchel of Salem, OH and Scott (Melissa) Gatchel of East Palestine, OH. A daughter, Mary Beth (Mark) Beebe of Irondale, OH. A sister, Levona (Ron) Spaulding of East Canton, OH. Six grandchildren, Brandi and Megan Beebe, Lindsay and Logan Gatchel, Matthew and Mackenzie Gatchel.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond on Thursday, July 3, 2008 from 5-9 PM. Services will be held Friday at 10 AM with Pastor David Guess officiating. Private burial will take place at East Springfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Charity Hospice, 500 Luray Dr., Wintersville, OH 43953 and American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1346, Steubenville, OH 43952.

Mary "Ronnie" Anderson
June 29, 2008
Mary 'Ronnie' Anderson, 67 of Bloomingdale, Ohio passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008 at her home. She was a life member of the VFW Post 80 Ladies Auxiliary and Steubenville Moose Chapter 586.

Mary was born June 8, 1941 in Allegheny Co., PA, a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Schwinder McCoy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald 'Whitey' Anderson, three brothers Jim Connor, Chuck and Bob McCoy, a stepson Ronald 'Butch' Anderson. She is survived by a daughter, Rona (Ron) Westfall of Steubenville and a granddaughter Nicole Beattie.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to Charity Hospice, 500 Luray Drive, Wintersville, OH 43953.

Berenice Freed
June 23, 2008
Berenice Freed, 94 of Salineville, Ohio passed away Monday, June 23, 2008 at Carroll Healthcare Center in Carrollton. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Salineville Church of Christ.

Berenice was born November 24, 1913 in Salineville, OH, a daughter of the late Clyde and Ola Marshal Blazy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Freed.

Visitation for Berenice will be at the Church of Christ, 55 West Main St., Salineville on Wednesday June 25, 2008 from 6-8 PM. Funeral Services at the church will be held Thursday at 11 AM with Pastor Dick Rohrer officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Salineville. Arrangements are under the care and supervision of the Everhart-Bove Funeral Homes.

DIANE L. (Beckett) PAHIDES, 68, of Wintersville, OH, went to be with her Lord, June 6, 2008. She was born June 11, 1939 in Steubenville, OH, the daughter of the late William and Ida (Zook) Beckett.

She was a nurses’ aid for years in this area and in Ocean City, New Jersey attended the Gospel Hall Assembly of Christians Gathered to the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Steubenville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence D. Beckett.

She is survived by her dear husband, Stamatie (Tom) Pahides, whom she married October 7, 1989; by a brother, Benson (Pat) Beckett of Hopedale, OH, by four sisters, Laura (Jim) Snider, Hopedale, OH, Gloria (Bob) Keller of Fishers, Indiana, Florence Taylor of Toronto, OH and Kay (Daryl) Kinker of Tallmadge, OH and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond Monday, June 9, 2008 from 11 AM until time of funeral services at 1 PM with Bob Vincent of McKeesport, PA officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Diane’s memory through the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home.

ROBERT C. McAFEE, 63, of Richmond, OH, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 29, 2008 in Valley Hospice Pallative Care Unit, Steubenville, OH.

He was born May 5, 1945 in Richmond, OH, a son of the late George W. and Thelma (Call) McAfee. Bob was a devoted husband to his wife, Diane (Rhonda Diana Ellenberger) who died suddenly September 4, 2006. He was also preceded in death by nephew Tim Davis and great nephew Cale Davis.

He retired from the rigger gang at Weirton Steel Co. in 1993 and retired in 2007 from the Edison School System as a school bus driver. He attended the Richmond United Methodist Church, was a Vietnam Era US Army veteran and a member of the Richmond American Legion Post #740, the BPOElks of Weirton and was a member of the Jefferson County Fair Board. He was an accomplished cook, an avid NASCAR fan and always was helping those in need.

He is survived by his 3 daughters, Stephanie (Kenneth) Porter, Richmond, Samanda (Gary) Pepperling, Columbus and Heather (Ronny) Grimes, Amsterdam, his 6 grandchildren, Angus, Ian and Ella Porter, Kendall Pepperling and Allison and Luke Grimes and a sister, Ruth Ann (Gary) Davis, Toronto.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday with the Reverend Carol Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Union Cemetery with full military honors by the Richmond American Legion Post #740. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to the Jefferson County Fair Board, c/o PO Box 2315, Wintersville, OH 43953.

Mollie C. Cagot

MOLLIE C. CAGOT, 95, of East Springfield, OH, passed away Monday, May 26, 2008 at the Valley Hospice Pallative Care Unit, Steubenville.

She was born in Jacksonville, Florida, November 15, 1912, a daughter of the late Herbert and Rosa Likins. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Clyde and a sister, Marie.

She was a long time employee of the Meat Department at the old A & P Grocery Store in Steubenville, and attended the Grace Baptist Temple in East Liverpool. She was active in the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, the Order of the Eastern Star, Unionport Chapter #360, the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America and the Isis Court #1, L.O.S.N.A. Mollie enjoyed her family, as well as playing the piano, dancing to swing era music, flowers, travel and lodge activities.

She is survived by two sons, Paul (Virginia) Cagot of East Liverpool, OH and Jack C. Cagot of East Springfield; a sister, Jessie Call of East Springfield; 6 grandchildren, Harold (Diane) Cagot, Jack (Leslie) Cagot, Rita (Gorky) Chin, Thomas (Marvette) Cagot, Laurie Jones and Susan (Jerry) Matics; and 4 great-grandchildren, Justin Jones, Jeremy Matics, Marissa Matics and Kyle Cagot.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond from 11 AM Wednesday until time of funeral services at 1 PM with the Reverend Tom Snodgrass officiating. Burial will follow in the East Springfield Cemetery. Order of the Eastern Star services will be at 11 AM Wednesday.

In lieu in flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the United Methodist Church of the Cross Youth Group, PO Box 6, East Springfield, OH 43925.
