Frances Randalson
February 29, 2008
Frances Randalson, 93 of Bergholz, Ohio passed away Friday, February 29, 2008 at Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville. She was a homemaker, Catholic by faith and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Amsterdam.

Frances was born January 16, 1915 in Greensburg, PA, a daughter of the late Alfonso and Anna Damico. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jacob Randalson on March 19, 2007. three brothers, Guy, James, and Pete Damico; one sister, Jane DeMore.

Frances is survived by two sons, Jacob Randalson and wife Sue of Carrollton and Carl S. Randalson and wife Kathy of Amsterdam; a daughter, Carmella Scopel and husband Elio of Amsterdam, two brothers; Sam and John Damico of Greensburg, PA, nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz on Sunday, March 2, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM with a Vigil Service at 8:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. John McCoy at 11 AM Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Burial will follow in Bergholz Cemetery. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful caregivers Mr. and Mrs. Randalson have been privileged to have over the years. They have been greatly appreciated by the Randalson family.

Inez Swickard
February 28, 2008
Inez C. Swickard, 89 of Richmond. Ohio passed away Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville. She was a homemaker and Methodist by faith.

Inez was born June 2, 1918 in Fox Twp., Carroll County, OH, a daughter of the late James and Nellie Madison Buxton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold R. Swickard on September 15, 2001. Four sisters Mildred Palmer, Helen Lafferty, Martha Rose, and Mary Gersna. Four brothers, Chester, Wilson, James, and Francis Buxton.

Inez is survived by a son, David Swickard of Richmond, OH, two daughters, Sinda (Don) Judis of Austintown, OH and Mary (Kenneth) Stevens of Toronto, OH. Six grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley, and Raymond Swickard, Timothy and Patrick Judis, Jeremy Kelley. One great-grandson Austin Heath.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond on Saturday from 6-8 PM and Sunday from 1-3 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 3 PM Sunday with Reverend Mark Thomas officiating. Private burial will take place at Island Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Richmond Volunteer Fire Co. and Rescue Squad.

Joe Plavka
February 24, 2008
Joe Plavka, 87 of Bergholz, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Lancia Villa Royale, Steubenville. Joe was a WWII veteran of the US Army, an employee of the Ford Motor Co., and a member of the Bergholz Church of Christ.

Joe was born October 23, 1920 in Eastern, OH near Bergholz, a son of the late Paul and Theresa Plavka. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Paul and Rudy Plavka and two sisters Mary LeMaster and Rose Taylor.

Joe is survived by his loving wife Doris Riggs Plavka, whom also resided with him at Lancia’s. Three daughters, Joyce Worwa of Yorkville, OH, Connie Plavka of Bergholz, OH, and Linda Shirey of Boardman, OH. A sister, Anna Lewandoski of Bergholz, OH. Three grandchildren, Richard Plavka, Eleanor Worwa, and Stanley Worwa. A great-grandson, Brian.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of services at 12 noon with Reverend Dave Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Bergholz Cemetery.

Larry A. Brown
February 19, 2008
LARRY A. BROWN, 42, of Bergholz, OH, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2008 in his home of natural causes. He was a self employed laborer.

He was born
February 23, 1965 in Steubenville, OH. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles A. Brown and a brother, Willis Reed.

He is survived by his wife, Penny (Hazelip) Brown, his mother, Betty (Helfer) Brown of Brilliant, a son, Joshua Brown of Bergholz, two daughters, Fawna Brown of Martins Ferry, Oh and Sabrina Hazelip of Bergholz, a brother, Gary Reed of Brilliant and two granddaughters, Kiara Kidder and Jaidin Kreps.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz from
5 PM until time of funeral services at 7 PM. The Reverend Mark Thomas will officiate and interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Patrick Joseph Rowan
February 18, 2008
PATRICK JOSEPH ROWAN, 34, of Bergholz, OH, passed away unexpectedly from apparent hypoglycemic shock Monday, February 18, 2008 in his home. He was a supervisor of the moulding department at the Clayco Division of DeNoon Lumber in Bergholz and a member of the Bergholz Baptist Church.

Patrick was born in Steubenville, OH, May 22, 1973. He is preceded in death by his father, Gilbert L. Rowan, Sr. who died one year ago today, by his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Jane (Turvey) Payne and Scott and Sadie (Lowe) Rowan and by his former wife, Danielle Culp Rowan.

His mother, Irene (Payne) Rowan lives in Bergholz as does his daughter, Karissa Kay Rowan of the home. He is also survived by three brothers, Gilbert Lee (G.L.) Rowan, Jr., and wife Beth of Smithburg, Maryland, Clint D. Rowan and wife Lisa of Blacklick, Ohio and Scott M. Rowan and wife Michelle of Bergholz. Patrick leaves a close extended family of Nieces and Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday with the Reverend David Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Bergholz Cemetery.

Pamela Schultz
February 16, 2008
PAMELA SCHULTZ, 53, of Steubenville, OH, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the VA Hospital, Pittsburgh, Penn. following a brief illness. She had been employed at the Harrison Coal Co., Cadiz, OH and was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Amsterdam. She was a veteran of the US Air Force and a member of the Carrollton VFW.

Pam was born December 11, 1954 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Hugh and Mary Belle (Byron) Schultz. She is survived by four brothers, Hugh (Maxine) Schultz, Bloomingdale, David (Donna) Schultz, Steubenville, James (Kitty) Schultz, Cleveland and Joseph (Trinka) Schultz, Canal Fulton, by 5 sisters, Peggy Elliott, Steubenville, Patricia Schultz of Ranson, WV, Sharon (Rob) Carson, Bergholz, Mary (Tim) Redovian, Amsterdam and Carrie (Mike) Miller, Steubenville; and by 14 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews.

Pam’s family have arranged for services to be held after the Easter Season. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday, April 12, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Amsterdam with Fr. John McCoy, the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Bergholz Cemetery followed by a light luncheon. The Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Elsie L. Booth
February 16, 2008
ELSIE L. BOOTH, 98, formerly of Scio, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Carroll Health Care Center, Carrollton. She was a homemaker and protestant by faith.

Mrs. Booth was born January 16, 1910 in Coal Glen, PA, the daughter of the late James and Margaret Thomas Collins. She was a graduate of high school, an accomplishment not achieved by many in those days, and was on the girls basketball team. She was the widow of James C. Booth, who had died August 1, 1966. They were the parents of 7 children; James C. (Velma) Booth, Jr. of Amsterdam, Paul W. (Suzie) Booth of Richmond, Kenneth (Nancy) Booth and Gary L. (Debbie) Booth, all of Scio and Ronald Booth of Norflok, VA; Marjorie Hosterman and Dolores Clifton, both of Richmond; the grandparents of 22, the great-grandparents of 49 and the great-great grandparents of 13. She is preceded in death by two grandsons, three sisters, Elizabeth Harvey, Margaret Geddis and Dora Arminini and a brother, Duncan Collins.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St, Richmond Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 AM with the Reverend John Hearn officiating. Burial will follow in the Island Creek Cemetery.
