Dolores N. Landolfi
ASHTABULA - Dolores Nellie Landolfi, 74, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at Hillcrest Hospital, Mayfield.
She was born June 7, 1927, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Francis and Bridget (Monda) Guerriero.
Mrs. Landolfi was a graduate of Ashtabula High School.
She was a cafeteria worker for the Ashtabula Area Schools for 20 years.
Mrs. Landolfi was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, the Altar and Rosary Society of the church, of Catholic Daughters of American; and the Anita Garibaldi Lodge of Ashtabula.
She enjoyed her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph of Ashtabula and Nicholas of Menlo Park, Calif.; two daughters, Barbara Landolfi of Columbus and Patty Luoma of Ashtabula; four grandchildren, Andrew and Allison Luoma and Nicholas and Michael Landolfi; a brother, Edward Guerriero of Dayton and three sisters, Joanne Liebenauer of Chester Township and Angela Fish and Eleanor Scharlach of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas, in 1998; her parents; her stepmother, Molly; two brothers, Peter and Frank Guerriero; and a sister, Marie Prisco.
Service is 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, East 21st Street, Ashtabula. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Guerriero Funeral Home, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula.

Emory E. Lawwill
ASHTABULA - Emory E. Lawwill, 78, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, in the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born on Oct. 10, 1923, in Pike County, the son of Abe and Victoria (McKinley) Lawwill and had been a resident of Ashtabula since 1950.
He worked more than 30 years for the Operating Engineers Local 18, Cleveland, as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 1985.
Mr. Lawwill was a past member of the Free Methodist Church.
He was a devoted husband who enjoyed woodworking and remodeling projects.
Survivors include his son, Roger of Ashtabula; his stepson, Floyd McDaniels of Ashtabula; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mabel G. (Scott), on Feb. 19, 1991, and his sister, Mildred Lawwill.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday in the Zaback-Czup Funeral Home, 500 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Bill Conaway of the Free Methodist Church, Conneaut, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hours are from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Donald V. Morse
ASHTABULA ­ Donald V. Morse, 93, of West Prospect Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, in the Hospice Unit of the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 29, 1908, in Ashtabula, the son of Royal E. and Arie W. (Howard) Morse.
A lifelong area resident, Mr. Morse was a 1927 Ashtabula High School graduate and served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II.
He married Edna Jepson on Sept. 20, 1936.
Mr. Morse was an independent owner of service stations in the Ashtabula area until his retirement. He also was employed as bulk plant supervisor with Shell Oil Co.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Ashtabula, where he sang in the choir, was a trustee and a member of session.
He also was past president and treasurer of the Ashtabula Lions Club, a member of United Commercial Travelers, American Legion Dewey Post 103 and Rising Sun Lodge 22 Free & Accepted Masons.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, David W. and James H. of Painesville and Charles K. of Ashtabula; three brothers, Lynn H. and Dana E. of Florida and Robert of Kingsville; five grandchildren, Jeffery, Pamela, Tracie, Jennifer and Todd; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Roger C. in infancy; two sisters, Dorothy Eadon and Betty Lou Morse; and three brothers, Francis L., Howard and Merton.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Stephen Long of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ashtabula Lions Club, First Presbyterian Church endowment fund or to Hospice of Ashtabula County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Martha M. Makynen
MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. - Martha Marion Makynen, 74, of Merritt Island, Fla., died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, in Aurora, Colo.
She was born Jan. 28, 1927, in Ashtabula.
Mrs. Makynen was a retired bookkeeper from Farmer's National Bank in Ashtabula. She moved to Merritt Island, Fla., in 1986. She enjoyed crafts.
Survivors include a son, William, of Evergreen, Colo.; brothers Richard Callahan and Leo Callahan, both of Ohio; two granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Ann Piispanen; and a brother, Jack Callahan.
A private service will be held. There was a cremation.
Memorials may be sent to Brevard County Animal Protection League.

Eloise Sergeff
ASHTABULA - Eloise Sergeff, 86, of McCreery Avenue, Ashtabula, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, at the Park Haven Nursing Home in Ashtabula.
She was born Nov. 10, 1914, in Jefferson, the daughter of John S. and Ida (Mountain) Jackson.
Mrs. Sergeff has been a lifelong area resident.
She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and married George E. Sergeff, Jr, on Sept. 2, 1935.
Mrs. Sergeff was a member of the Harris Memorial Presbyterian Church in Ashtabula.
She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards and collecting stamps.
Survivors include three sons, Edward G. of Plymouth Township, Robert J. of Monroe Township and Dennis M. of Lewiston, Idaho; two daughters, Barbara J. Spencer and Phyllis Schoville, both of Ashtabula; brother, Clare Jackson of New Mexico; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2000; three brothers, Lynn, John and Harley Jackson and by sister, Olive Peterson.
Service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson, with the Rev. Betsy Schenk of Plymouth United Methodist Church officiating.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Raymond F. Curtin Jr.
ASHTABULA - Raymond F. Curtin Jr., 64, of West 40th Street, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at his home.
He was born March 21, 1937, in Cleveland, the son of Raymond F. and Marie (Link) Curtin.
He had been an Ashtabula County resident since 1972.
Mr. Curtin attended Lakeland Community College. He worked 22 years as a warehouse man for A. Louis Supply Co.
He served four years in the U.S. Air Force before being honorably discharged.
He married Rosemary Prosser in March 3, 1962.
Mr. Curtin was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was especially proud of receiving his 25-year sobriety coin.
He was in the Sobriety Plus Club, where he served as president, treasurer, and manager. He also was part of the “Living!” with Cancer Support Group.
Mr. Curtin enjoyed crafting, woodworking, art, his boat, jigsaw puzzles, television, Sunday drives, fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife; three sisters, Marion Barkas of Cleveland, and Gladys Ramsey and Patricia Broadbent of North Carolina; four sons, Frank J. of Andover, Raymond S. and Steven A. of Ashtabula, and Patrick K. of Mansfield; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, where Ashtabula County United Veterans Council will conduct military rites.
Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to “Living!” with Cancer Support Group or to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Robert L. Ebersole
ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP - Robert L. Ebersole, 62, of Shomo Drive, died Sunday, June 10, 2001.
He was born Aug. 13, 1938, in Jefferson, the son of William L. and Freda M.. (March) Ebersole, and was a resident of Jefferson until 1977, when he moved to Ashtabula.
He married Betty L. Johns on May 1, 1982, in Windsor.
Mr. Ebersole was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He worked as a boilermaker for P&S Maintenance, retiring in 1994. He was certified to weld underwater and was a member of the boilermaker's union. He also worked with DeFina's Auctions, Austinburg Township, loved antiques and to travel, taking many "day trips".
Survivors include his wife, Betty J.; eight children, James R. of Geneva, Tammy L. Chah, Thomas J., Kimberly J. Morrison, Eugene R. Heath, Jr., Diana L. Hill and Valerie E. Gilliam, all of Ashtabula, and Elizabeth D. Heath of Madison; eight grandchildren; and four sisters, Jean Campbell, Mary Jane Hines, Joann Ellsworth and Judy Holik, all of Jefferson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Joe.
At the request of his family, no calling hours or service will be observed. Cremation will take place at the Family Care Group Cremation Center.
The Fleming Funeral Home Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, has charge of the arrangements.
