Christina M. Acierno
ASHTABULA - Christina Marie Acierno, daughter of Regina (Acierno) Sergent, was still born Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003 in Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Survivors include her mother Regina of Ashtabula; sisters, Jessica Hamilton of Kent, Heather Acierno Sergent and Amy Jo Sergent; maternal grandmother, Wanda Acierno; and aunts, Andrea Kalil, Jackie Siekkinen and Pamela Claudio.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Joseph A. Acierno.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, at Guerriero Funeral Home, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula, with the Rev. John Jones of Light House Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Pasqualina Ferrando
ASHTABULA - Pasqualina Ferrando, 92, of West 43rd Street, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, in the Western Reserve Extended Care Nursing Facility, Kirtland.
She was born Jan. 28, 1909, in Forli Del Sannio, Italy, to Crescenzo and Anna (Mazzocco) Lilli. She moved to Ashtabula in 1955.
Mrs. Ferrando was a homemaker all her life. She was a member of the St. Joseph Mission Church.
Survivors include son Isler J. Ferrando of Ashtabula; daughters Maria Formichelli and Anna Ianiro of Chesterland; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Attilio, sister Julia and grandson Mario Formichelli Jr.
Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Church, 3330 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, officiated by the Rev. Philip Miller. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Calling hours 4-9 p.m. today in the Zaback-Czup Funeral Home, 500 Prospect Road, Ashtabula.

Arlene K. Sposito
Wednesday, January 16th, 2008
ASHTABULA – Arlene K. Sposito, 79, died early Tuesday morning January 15, 2008 in the Ashtabula Co. Medical Center.
She was born in Ashtabula on July 1, 1928 the daughter of Walter and Mary (Kuula) Beckman.
A lifelong resident of Ashtabula, she graduated from Harbor High School in 1946. She worked in the past at Ward Products. She was a member of Mother of Sorrows Church and the American Legion Post 103 Ladies Auxiliary.
On November 19, 1948 she married Donald P. Sposito.
She enjoyed cooking, family gatherings, her daily 3 mile walks and most especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: her daughter Sheila (Larry) Cafaro and son Donald, both of Ashtabula; her grandchildren: Ticey Czup, Justin (Meghan)Cafaro, Josh and Courtney Sposito; her great-grandchildren: Ethan, Avery, Jack, Raven and Kaige; her sisters: Ruth (Dan) DiDonato and Mitzie Paulchel, all of Ashtabula; she is also survived by several very special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald on June 3, 1994, her sister Dorothy Glenn, brother Walter Beckman, and bother-in-law Philip Paulchel.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday Jan. 17 at 11:00 a.m. at FLEMING AND BILLMAN Funeral Directors, Ashtabula Home 526 W. Prospect Rd. with Rev. Fr. Joseph Ruggeri officiating the services. A private family burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. At her request no calling hours will be held.

Kathryn M. Young
Saturday, January 12th, 2008
Kathryn M. “Kay” Young, age 83, went home to her Heavenly Father on Friday, January 11, 2008 at the Ashtabula Co. Medical Center.
She was born April 4, 1924 in Dodgeville, the daughter of Clarence & Dorene (Benton) Swanson, one of three children. She was married to Charles M. “Red” Young on November 19, 1942 at the Jefferson Methodist Church parsonage. She lived in Jefferson most of her life before moving to Ashtabula one year ago, spending the last year living at Ridgeview Terrace Apartments where she enjoyed the company of many friends. She was a member of the Eagleville Bible Church.
She worked at Wentling’s Pharmacy, Ashtabula Co. Courthouse, Jefferson Banking Co., People Savings & Loan, NEO Bank, Kent State Ashtabula and Wal-Mart. Kay will be remembered most for her unselfish and giving nature. She made many friends throughout her happy life. Her greatest joy was giving to everyone around her; family, friends and strangers alike. She touched many lives and gave so much to everyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Kay is survived by a son, Charles J. (Diane) Young of Ashtabula, daughter-in-law, Dorothy Young of Florida, grandchildren, Tammy Spangler, Tracey (Carl) Caylor, Deana (Arthur) Follett, Dawn (Benjamin) Schaubert, all of Ashtabula and Randy (Rita) Young of Kentucky, great-grandchildren, Nicole Spangler, Ryan (Wendie) Spangler, Jami (Anokh) Kondru, Dustin Spangler, Amber Notter, Kara Notter, T. J. Loose, Zachary Sanchez, Nathan Schaubert & Brandy Young, great-great-grandchildren, Rian & Alixia Spangler, sister-in-law, Elsie Clements of Kingsville Twp., sister, Janis (Robert) Ferrando of Louisiana & a brother, Morris (Dell) Swanson of Arizona. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles “Red” Young in 1986, a son, Ronald Young, a grandson, Kevin Young and a granddaughter, JoDee Young.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 1:00 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Pastor Bill McMinn of the Eagleville Bible Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.

Francis Xavier Howe
ASHTABULA - Francis Xavier Howe, 75, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
He was born April 4, 1926, in Ashtabula, the son of Maurice and Mable (Wieman) Howe.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He married Thelma "Jane" M. Huhta on Nov. 23, 1946.
He worked for Reliance Electric for 33 years until his retirement in 1982. From 1983-1990 he worked for Ashtabula County as an inspector. He also served as an instructor at the Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School in the adult education department where he taught industrial electricity.
He was a lifetime member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was active with parish council and several other parish committees. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Ashtabula Council No. 360 Leo J. Kane Assembly for more than 50 years; he served as their first commander and he also served as navigator.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, photography and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Michael J. of Conneaut, and William F. of Ashtabula; daughters, Elizabeth A. Pandora of Columbus, Kathryn T. Sharp of Painesville, and Margaret M. Dalton of Loudenville; grandchildren, Justin, Sarah, Meghan, Jessica, Betsy, Neil, Jennifer and Margie; one great-grandson; brothers, Ken and M.J. "Babe, " both of Ashtabula; and sisters, Betty Cutrone of Willoughby, and Mary McCafferty of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a child in infancy.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3330 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Philip Miller officiating.
Calling hours will be held following the Mass of Christian burial at the Murphy Center on Monday.
Memorial contributions can be made to Birth Care of Ashtabula or to the church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
The Zaback-Czup Funeral Home, 500 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, is handling the funeral arrangements.

Ellen J. Alvari
ASHTABULA - Ellen J. Alvari, 84, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
The former resident of Dorset and Lenox townships was born Nov. 5, 1915, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Thomas S. and Maria S. (Toija) Maki.
She was a 1934 graduate of Dorset High School.
A member of Bethany Lutheran Church since 1947, she also belonged to Denmark Grange 1544 from 1942 to 1990.
Survivors include a sister, Mamie Peltoma of Ashtabula; and two brothers: John Maki of Orrville and Arthur Maki of Sun City, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor E., in 1983; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth, in 1953; a brother, Reino Maki; and a sister, Ruth Bixler.
Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Fleming Funeral Home, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. David Hofer of Bethany Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Ashtabula County, 2420 Lake Ave., Ashtabula; or Bethany Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 933 Michigan Ave., Ashtabula. Envelopes will available at the funeral home.

Richard H. Baldwin
ASHTABULA - Richard H. Baldwin, 88, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born Nov. 25, 191, he was the son of Burt C. and Agnes (Edmunds) Baldwin, and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Baldwin graduated from North Kingsville High School in 1929. He attended Ohio State University, Hillsdale College, and Cleveland College. He majored in accounting.
Mr. Baldwin was employed at Iten Fiber as a laborer and production manager, and was a supervisor for Lake City Malleable before moving into the insurance business.
He had been a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ashtabula since 1938.
He was a charter member of the Sam Wharram Nature Club, a member of the Exchange Club, and a fraternity brother of Delta Tau Delta.
He also served on the Civil Service Commission, the United Appeal, BPOE 208, the YMCA, and was president of the Bennett Hunting and Fishing Club for 20 years.
He worked diligently in getting the levy passed to build and new facility at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home in the early 1970s.
Survivors include his wife Dess (Morrow) Baldwin, whom he married in December 1986; a daughter, Gay Menges of Evanston, Ind.; a stepson, Bill Morrow of Ashtabula; a stepdaughter, Anne Marble of Florida; two grandsons, Jon and David Menges; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Elizabeth (Force) Baldwin; and two brothers, Raymond and Robert.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, 4506 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Barry Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Ashtabula Township.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
Memorial contributions may be made to the endowment of the church.
