'Buzz' Carraher
GENEVA - "Buzz" Carraher, 66, of Geneva, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at University Hospital of Cleveland.
He was born Feb. 24, 1936, in Hartsgrove, the son of Robert V. and Gladys M. (Brown) Carraher.
Mr. Carraher married Mary F. (Tellep) Carraher on Oct. 12, 1957, in Thompson.
He was employed at True Temper in Geneva for 26 years, and Trumbull Township for 15 years, retiring in 1998.
Mr. Carraher was a member of Assumption Catholic Church; Harpersfield Ruritan (1974); Geneva-Madison Knights of Columbus 5682; Geneva Eagles 2243, since 1963; and the Geneva Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Geneva; four sons, Francis E. Carraher Jr., Daniel Carraher and Robert Carraher, all of Geneva, and John Carraher of Charlotte, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Amber, Frankie, Jacob, John Jr., Courtney, Kimberly and Nathan; and a sister, June Kedzerski of Rock Creek.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Carraher.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Assumption Catholic Church, 594 W. Main St., Geneva, with the Rev. Paul Tobin, of Assumption Catholic Church, officiating.
Burial will be Evergreen Cemetery, Geneva.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. today at Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva.
Memorial contributions may be made to Assumption Church, 594 W. Main St., Geneva.

Christopher C. Cork
CHICAGO, Ill. - Seaman Christopher C. Cork, 20, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at the Froedtert Medical Center, Milwaukee, Wisc. Cork was in basic training camp at the Great Lakes Naval Center in Chicago, Ill.
He was born Oct. 5, 1982, to Chris L. Cork of Geneva and Diana Smith Grandinetti of Brandon, Fla. He lived in Conneaut until he was 15, then moved to Brandon, Fla. with his mother.
Mr. Cork graduated from Brandon High School in 2002, where he enjoyed sports and was a member of the high school track team. He enjoyed surfing, swimming, golf and basketball. He volunteered much of his time to Boys Town.
Survivors include his parents; grandmothers Marty Perry of Mentor and Peggy Dodd of Conneaut; sisters Katarina Cork of Geneva, and Jennifer Lynn Cork and Stephanie Giardinieri, both of Brandon, Fla.; brother Zach Cork of Geneva; and fiancee Nicole Cisco of Brandon, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Charles "Bill" W. Cork and Joseph A. Smith.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, at Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, officiated by Tim Kraus, pastor of the Church of Christ. Internment will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, where full military rites will be conducted.
Friends may call at the funeral home 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Conneaut Local Youth Organization. Envelopes available at the funeral home.

George F. Durrant
GENEVA - George Frederick Durrant Sr., 47, of Sherman Street died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at Sunset Manor, where he had been a resident since April.
He was born Sept. 13, 1955, in Ashtabula, the son of George F. and Jennie (Yendriga) Durrant. He had been an area resident for most of his life.
Before his retirement, he operated G&K Pallet Removal, a wood pallet recycling business.
Mr. Durrant enjoyed race cars and fishing.
Survivors include his mother, Jennie Thorkilsen of Zion, Ill.; stepfather, John Thorkilsen of Zion, Ill.; three children, George F. III of Cape Coral, Fla., Jennifer Durrant of Kentucky and Frances Durrant of Quincy, Ill.; two grandchildren; two sisters, Tina Durrant of Beach Park, Ill., and Leona Thorkilsen of Englewood, Colo.; and two brothers, Charles Thorkilsen of Ventura, Calif., and John Thorkilsen of Zion, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Service is 9 a.m. Wednesday at the family gravesite in Brownville Cemetery, New Lyme Township.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Sunset Manor, 840 Sherman St., Geneva.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sunset Manor Activities Fund, 840 Sherman St., Geneva, 44041; or the West Avenue Church of Christ, 5901 West Ave., Ashtabula, 44004.
Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave., is handling arrangements.

Marguerite Klingler
GENEVA - Marguerite (Tommie) Klingler, 75, of Palmetto Drive, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at the Hospice unit of Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born March 7, 1927, in Indianapolis, to Cletus and Barbara (Helms) Klingler. She was an area resident most of her life.
Ms. Klingler worked 38 1/2 years at Reliance Electric as a foreman before retiring in 1986.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and taking care of the birds.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Bisbee of Ashtabula.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Sessler, and her parents.
Service is 2 p.m. Saturday at Ducro Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memory Gardens (Edgewood Alliance Church), 3137 E. Center St., North Kingsville, officiated by the Rev. Christine Strachan, pastor of North Kingsville Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, North Kingsville.
Calling hour is 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Ashtabula County, 2420 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, 44004; or the North Kingsville Presbyterian Church, 6546 Church St., North Kingsville, 44048.

Albert T. Adams
GENEVA - Albert T. Adams, 76, of Geneva, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at UHHS Memorial Hospital of Geneva.
He was born June 4, 1925, in Fairport Harbor, the son of Joseph and Mary (Misenko) Adams, and had been a lifelong resident of the Geneva, Mentor and Fairport Harbor area.
He was a 1942 graduate of Fairport Harbor High School, and his basketball team participated in a state tournament. He attended Ohio University on a basketball scholarship.
He served in the 2nd Marine Division 6th Regiment in Saipan, Tinian and Okinawa. After the war, he was a nationally recognized basketball player at the University of South Carolina.
He worked as a cement finisher for Union Local 19.
He was a charter member of Mentor Post 109 Amvets, and also coached numerous youth basketball, baseball and softball teams. He lectured on World War II at local schools, and enjoyed golfing and reading. He also enjoyed the companionship of his dog, P.D., and cat, Perry.
Survivors include his wife, the former Joan Burnett, whom he married Aug. 17, 1977, in Geneva; three daughters, Paul Adams of Weirsdale, Fla., Judy Ann Hennessey of Geneva, and Amy Holm of Valrico, Fla.; three sons, Albert F. Adams of Painesville, Jeff Adams of Ocala, Fla., and Timothy Burkholder of Shinnston, W.Va.; a sister, Mary Glatzhoffer of Fairport Harbor; a brother, Joseph Adams of Ashtabula; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Steve, Andrew, Francis and George Adams; and a sister, Betty Adams.
Service is 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Cornerstone Friends Church, 2300 Hubbard Road, Madison. The Rev. Evan Nunnally will officiate.
Calling hours are 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
The Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, is in charge of arrangements.

Frances E. Smith
GENEVA - Frances E. Smith, 83, formerly of East Main Street, Geneva, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at Broadfield Manor Nursing Home in Madison.
She was born Dec. 11, 1918, in Port Huron, Mich., the daughter of Joseph E. and Ada M. (McCullum) Martin, and had lived in Geneva for 15 years.
She worked as a waitress at Broadway Breakfast, and also worked at Lobster House and Fareway Coffee Shop in California. She started work at an early age when her parents owned the Wilson Ice Cream Store.
She belonged to the Eagles Auxiliary in California, and enjoyed bowling and playing cards.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Smith of Madison, and George Smith II of Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Charlene Smith of South Fork, Colo.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Joanne Kemp of Arcadia, Calif.; and a good friend, Jeane Sheffield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Roberta Smith; a sister, Alda McGregor; and two brothers, Jay and Grant Martin.
A graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Madison Memorial Cemetery, Arcola Road, Madison Township. The Rev. Paul Tobin, of Assumption Church in Geneva, will officiate.
