Ruth P. Clutter
GENEVA - Ruth P. Clutter, 66, of South Ridge Road, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at her home.
The daughter of Wesley E. and Phoebe (Green) Meyer, she was born Feb. 17, 1934 in Glenwillow.
Mrs. Clutter resided in the Geneva area since 1964, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, casinos, seamstressing and counted cross-stitch projects. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and loved keeping photo memories of family and friends.
She attended Indian Creek Chapel at Geneva-on-the-Lake.
Survivors include her husband, A. Lee Clutter, whom she married Dec. 17, 1955 in Solon; one son, David of Portland, Tenn.; two daughters: Debby Andrus of Geneva-on-the-Lake and Nancy Daniel of Erie, Pa.; five grandchildren: Eddie, Terri, Laura, Thomas and Josh; three brothers: and Harold Meyer of Cleveland, Robert Meyer of Kimbolton and Dale Meyer of Cincinnati.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Donald E. Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva, with the Rev. James Douglass, pastor of Indian Creek Chapel, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to Ashtabula County Hospice, 2420 Lake Ave., Ashtabula 44004.
Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Helen L. Edmunds
GENEVA - Helen Louise Edmunds, 86, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Lake East Hospital in Painesville.
Born Aug. 20, 1916, in Warren, she was the daughter of Carl and Florence (Ewalt) Edmunds. She resided in Geneva since 1973.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Alfred Edmunds.
A private service will take place Sunday at Walden Residential Centers in Geneva. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
Hall Funeral Services of Warren is handling the arrangements.

Walter L. Hoefer
TUCSON, Ariz. - Walter L. Hoefer, 82, formerly of Geneva, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000.
Mr. Hoefer was born Dec. 27, 1917. He was the owner of Geneva Drug Co. and the pharmacist at Geneva Memorial Hospital for 18 years.
He was a member of Rotary, Geneva Business Association and the Madison Country Club. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force as an instructor of basic and advanced flight training. He served one year in the China-Burma-India "hump" area, flying C46 cargo planes.
Mr. Hoefer received a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from Ohio Northern University. He retired to Gulf Shores, Ala., in 1982 and moved to Tucson, Ariz., in 1998.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Hoefer; one daughter, Gail Haga; one grandson, Heath; two granddaughters: Heidi and Holly; two great-granddaughters: Linzy and Brittany; and one brother, Richard.
No services were held.
Arrangements were handled by Evergreen Mortuary, 3015 North Oracle Road, Tucson, Ariz. 85705.

Frank D. Zappia
GENEVA - Frank D. Zappia, 89, of Sherman Street, Geneva, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at UHHS Memorial Hospital of Geneva.
He was born Nov. 5, 1911, in Geneva, the son of Vincent and Grace (Giddings) Zappia, and had been a lifelong area resident.
He served with the Army's 28th Cavalry Troop during World War II, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He married the former Evelyn "Evie" Urso on Sept. 5, 1936, in Ashtabula.
He worked as a machine operator for True Temper in Geneva for 30 years, retiring in 1974.
He was a member of Assumption Church in Geneva and the American Legion's George Call Post 124 in Geneva.
Survivors include a brother, John Zappia of Atlanta, Ga.; a half-brother, Ross Zappia of Arizona and 18 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, in June; and a sister, Merle Arkenburg.
Service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Assumption Church, 594 W. Main St., Geneva. The Rev. Paul Tobin, of Assumption Church in Geneva, will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Donald E. Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva.
Memorial contributions may be to Alzheimer's Association, Cleveland chapter, 12200 Fairhill Road, Cleveland, 44120. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Cleon R. Cowger
GENEVA - Cleon Russell Cowger, 84, of Geneva, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at Rae-Ann Geneva.
He was born Jan. 21, 1918, in Jefferson, the son of Bernard C. and Lula V. (Hinkle) Cowger.
Mr. Cowger married Enola M. (Cornish) on Aug. 21, 1937, in Auburn, Ind.
He was employed at Harvey Hubbell Manufacturing in Madison before retiring in 1986.
Mr. Cowger was a member of First United Methodist Church; Masonic Order, Blue Lodge 234; and Royal Arch Masons. He was also a scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 51 for 34 years and received the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor in scouting, in 1958.
Mr. Cowger enjoyed model railroads as a hobby.
Survivors include his wife, Enola of Geneva; a grandson, Allen Willis; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Willis, in 1969; a granddaughter, Mary Kay Deems; an infant grandson, Robert Willis; and his parents.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, with the Rev. Hugh Hookway, of Geneva First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Geneva.
Calling hour is from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Geneva First United Methodist Church, 89 S. Broadway, Geneva, 44041.

Justine Mick
GENEVA - Justine Mick, 74, of Sherman Street, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at University Hospital, Cleveland.
She was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Gilmer, W.Va., the daughter of Okey J. and Bessie (Campbell) Mick and had been a Geneva resident since 1994, moving from Jefferson.
She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, flowers, and painting.
Survivors include three brothers, Okey and Richard of Jefferson, and Willie of Weston, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Leonard, and three sisters, Goldie, Fredia, and Garnet Mick.
A private family service will be held Saturday. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
At the request of Ms. Mick, no calling hours will be observed.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sunset Manor, formally Geneva Health Care Home, 840 Sherman St., Geneva, Ohio 44041.
Ducro Funeral Services at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, are in charge of arrangements.
