USA High School Yearbooks by State and County

Nellie W. Burdyshaw, age 87, a lifelong resident of Mentor, a homemaker, died April 1, 2004, at her residence. She was born Feb. 7, 1917, in Logan, W.Va.
Survivors are her daughters, Deborah Burdyshaw of Madison and Marybeth Dinunzio of Mentor; sons, Richard (Sissi) Burdyshaw of Arkansas and David Burdyshaw and William (Gail) Burdyshaw, both of Mentor; grandchildren, Christy, Brad, Jessica, Vanessa, Brett and Kelsey; and great-grandchildren, Autumn and Ethan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W.; parents, Steven and Mary Nemeth; and sisters, Helen Timko and Mary Scheuer.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday April 4, 2004 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
The family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 5786 Heisley Road, Mentor 44060, or to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark.

Memorial services for Jean E. (Barr) Byers, 79, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, a homemaker, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10th, at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., in Mentor.
Mrs. Byers died March 21, 2004, at LakeWest Hospital in Willoughby. She was born July 21, 1924, in Cleveland, she lived in Mentor-on-the-Lake for the past 38 years.
Survivors are her daughter, Linda (Gene) Gilmore of Walpole, Mass.; son, Andrew R. "Drew" (Linda) Byers of Minneapolis, Minn.; grandchildren, Hannah, Brian, Peter, Adam and Amanda; and great-grandson, Dante.
Her husband, Richard H. "Dick" Byers; daughter, Abigail Weber; and twin-sister, Barbara Barr Baldwin, are deceased.
Inurnment will be in Mentor Cemetery in Mentor.
The family suggests contributions be made to the United Way of Lake County, P.O. Box 733, Painesville 44077.

Memorial service for Michael P. “Mike” Christopher, age 55, of Kirtland will be held 3 p.m. Saturday April 3, 2004 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Mr. Christopher died Tuesday March 30, 2004 at his residence. He was born March 14, 1949 in Reed City, Michigan, he had lived in Mentor on the Lake before moving to Kirtland 12 years ago.
Mr. Christopher was a sales associate at the Marc’s in Mentor, prior to that he was Assistant superintendent for Deepwood and a principal at Broadmoor School in Mentor. He was a past Mentor on the Lake Councilman and was and avid golfer. A U.S. Navy Veteran.
Survivors include his sons Bryan (Geri) Christopher of Willowick and K.C. (Stacy Agosto) Christopher of Broadview Heights; daughter Shannon Christopher of Mentor; grandchildren Colin and Sidney; mother Katherine Christopher of Michigan; brothers Wayne (Sue) Christopher of Illinois, Mark (Barb) Christopher of Illinois and Craig (Sue) Christopher of Florida; sister Carla (Richard) King of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father E. Wayne; paternal and maternal grandparents.
Inurnment Woodland Cemetery, Reed City, Michigan.

Dennis C. Stolz, age 51, of Mentor for the past 23 years, formerly of Willoughby, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township. He was born Aug. 12, 1959, in Cleveland.
Mr. Stolz worked pharmacy technician for Giant Eagle Tanglewood store for the past two and a half years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Mentor, riding motorcycles, building models, enjoyed watching motorcycle bike drag racing with his best friend, Bill Tomaric, spending time with his family especially his grandsons. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors are her wife of 23 years, Patricia M. Stolz; daughter, Danielle Marie (Mark) Waites of Mentor; son, Christopher Patrick (Julie) Stolz of Utah; three grandchildren; Jeffrey, Mason and Delilah; three sisters, Debbie Cudnik of Orwell, Donna (Barry) Horne of Florida and Darlene (Russell) Ford of Jefferson; brother, Daniel (Mary) Stolz of Land-o-Lakes, Fla.; parents, Thomas C. and Dorothy Stolz of Hudson, Fla.; nieces, Amanda, Emily, Caitlyn Ford and Kaitlyn Jozwiak; six other nieces and nephews; best friend, Bill (Sandy) Tomaric of Rock Creek; and daughters, Amanda, Misty and Kristy.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday November 7, 2010 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family.

Funeral mass for Michael J. Houlihan, age 57, of Painesville will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday April 2, 2004 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 242 N. State Painesville, Oh.
Mr. Houlihan died March 30, 2004 at Lake Hospital System in Painesville. He was born October 14, 1946 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, he had lived in Willoughby and Richmond Heights before moving to Painesville 14 years ago.
He was a musician in the area working as a instructor at Pfabe’s music in Painesville, Dick Lurie’s and playing at Epic and John Palmers restaurants.
Mr. Houlihan studied Classical Guitar under Sophleces Pappas in Washington, DC., owned/operated Houlihan Guitar Studio and played with various Jazz musicians at a National level.
He was a member of St. Mary , Painesville, former Altar Boy at St. Patrick in Canonsburg, Pa., enjoyed golfing, skiing, football, baseball, was a Boy Scout, had his pilot’s license, attended Linsley Military Institute in Wheeling, Wva., a graduate of East Washington High School in Washington, Pa. class of 1965.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years Sue (Facemyer); daughters Lisa Houlihan of Hudson, Oh., Bonnie (Grant Franklin Jr.) Houlihan-Franklin of Morgantown, Wva. and Ashleigh Houlihan of Painesville, Oh.; grandchildren Michael, Meghan, Nina and Brooke; mother Elizabeth (William) Krause of Canonsburg, Pa.; Father and Mother-in-Law Robert & Mary Facemyer of Mentor; brother David (Karen) Houlihan of Canonsburg, Pa.; niece Katie Houlihan of Canonsburg, Pa.; nephew Christopher Houlihan of Canonsburg, Pa.; step-mother Margaret Houlihan of West Middlesex, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Houlihan.
Family will receive friends Thursday 4-8 p.m. at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Oh.
Interment St. Patrick Cemetery in Canonsburg, Pa.

Funeral service for Ross Hyder, age 59, of Mentor-on-the-Lake will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 3, 2004 at Brunner-Nixon Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 176 N. State Street, Painesville.
Mr. Hyder died Tuesday March 30, 2004 at his residence. He was born Sept. 12, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio he had lived in Mentor-on-the-Lake the past 30 years.
He was retired from Austen Company in Euclid where he was an Iron Worker. He was a member of Irish American Club, member of Geauga Bowman, formerly active in Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program, and loved his family and was a loving uncle.
He is survived by his mother Mildred Hyder of Mentor-on-the-Lake, Brother – Kim (Bonnie) Hyder of Kirtland, Sister – Bonny (Alan) Barker of Chardon, Nieces – Jennifer (Brian) Zupanc, Carrie (Bill) Phelan, Nephews – Sean (Michele) Hyder, Matt (Liz) Barker, 9 great-nieces and nephews.
His father Warren Hyder is deceased.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Interment Mentor Cemetery.
The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association, Northeast Ohio Affiliate, Inc., 1689 East 115th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.

Deacon Raymond C. Beebe, 83, of Mentor, passed away Sept. 17, 2011, at Salida Woods Assisted Living. Born Nov. 2, 1927, in Zanesville, Mr. Beebe had lived in Mentor since 1965.
He joined the Navy in the spring of 1945, his senior year. After serving for four years aboard the aircraft carriers USS Rendova and USS Badoeng Strait, Mr. Beebe attended Ohio University in Athens. He called 1953 his banner year, because that year he graduated from college, was hired at the Lubrizol Corporation, and married his wife, Marjorie Emmert.
Mr. Beebe worked as a chemist in the Pilot Plant lab at Lubrizol World Headquarters in Wickliffe, from 1953 until his retirement in 1990.
In 1980, Mr. Beebe was ordained as a permanent deacon in the Catholic Church; his deacon class was only the second class to be ordained in the Cleveland Diocese. He served as a deacon at St. Mary Church in Mentor and at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Willowick, giving homilies at Mass, baptizing infants, and serving in many church ministries.
Two of his greatest joys in life were spending time with family, especially his two granddaughters, and watching Cleveland Indians games.
Mr. Beebe was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Wilma (Hunter) Beebe; his wife, Marjorie (Emmert) Beebe; and his brothers, Tom and Don.
He is survived by his four children, Sister Ellen Beebe, SND, Andrew Beebe, Christopher (Diana) Beebe and Elise (John) Smith; two granddaughters, Amanda and Shelby Smith; and one stepbrother, Wilfred Watts.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Ave.
A vespers service will be prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation will resume immediately following the service.
The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday September 22, 2011 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Mentor. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests gifts to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 116 John St., New York, NY 10038, or to the Sisters of Notre Dame, 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon, OH 44024.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
