Roy F. Boehringer
CHESTER TOWNSHIP - Roy Frederick Boehringer, 82, of Chester Township, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at his home.
He was born Oct. 3, 1919, in Cleveland, the son of Phillip Richard and Lulu (Davidson) Boehringer.
Mr. Boehringer lived in Euclid and Bratenal before he moved to Lyndhurst in 1956 where he lived until moving to Chester Township in 1971. He was a salesman at J.C. Penney in Mentor from 1971 to 1983, then was a salesman at Bloom Brothers in Chesterland from 1984 until he retired in 1995.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving from October 1941 to December 1945. His assignments included the Aleutian Islands, New Guinea, South Philippines (Liberation) and Air Combat. His decorations included The Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with four Bronze Stars, The Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star and the AAF Air Crew Member Badge.
Mr. Boehringer was a member of St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in Mayfield Village and a 33rd degree mason of The Heights Lionheart Lodge in Lyndhurst. He enjoyed golf and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Jane (Van Scoyk), whom he married on Oct. 4, 1947, in Cleveland; a daughter, Rebecca Boehringer of Worthington; three sons, Christopher of Kingwood, Texas, and twins Curtis of Chester Township and Craig of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren, Michael, David and Todd Boehringer and Brad Lee Kovach; a sister, Dorothy Boehringer of Chester Township; and a brother, Phillip Richard "Dick" Boehringer of Winter Haven, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ford Boehringer.
Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, 435 SOM Center Road, Mayfield Village, with the Rev. Gary McElroy officiating.
Ritondaro Funeral Home, 126 South St., Chardon, is handling arrangements.

Joseph J. Byler
PARKMAN TOWNSHIP - Joseph J. Byler, 90, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 30, 1912, in Middlefield, the son of Joe K. and Emma C. (Byler) Byler. He was a lifelong area resident.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish. He was a farmer and harness-shop owner.
Survivors include his wife, Cora M. Miller, whom he married Jan. 9, 1936; four daughters, Saloma Miller, Amanda Byler and Emma Weaver, all of Middlefield, and Mary Ann Miller of Mesopotamia; four sons, Mahlon, Melvin and Allen, all of West Farmington, and Joe Jr. of Middlefield; 50 grandchildren; 168 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Lavina Miller, Lydia Miller and Emma Schrock, all of Middlefield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; five brothers; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Service is 9:30 a.m. Thursday at 16330 Husmer Road, Parkman Township. Bishop Eli E. Yoder will officiate. Visitation is anytime at the residence.
Burial will be in Nauvoo Road Cemetery, Middlefield Township.
The Russell Golden Rule Funeral Service, Middlefield, is handling the arrangements.

Frank J. Truhan
CHESTER TOWNSHIP - Frank J. Truhan, 87, died Friday, July 20, 2001, at Meridia Hillcrest Hospital, Mayfield Heights. after an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 25, 1914, in McKeesport, Pa., a son of Paul and Mary (Dziak) Truhan.
A longtime Burton Township resident, Mr. Truhan married Mary Kavcsanzky in 1938.
Survivors include his son, Dennis; a brother, Andrew, and two grandsons, Scott and Todd.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1983.
A private burial will take place.

Joe J. Miller
PARKMAN TOWNSHIP ­ Joe J. Miller, 81, of Tavern Road, died Sunday Aug. 5, 2001, at his home.
He was born Nov. 18, 1919, in Middlefield, the son of Joe J.W. Miller and Saloma Detweiler and was a lifelong area resident.
He married Lizzie Miller on Oct. 14, 1941.
Mr. Miller worked as a farmer and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lizzie; three sons, Robert J. of Burton, Albert of Michigan, Joe of Michigan; four daughters, Mary Yoder, Susan Miller, and Elizabeth Miller, all of Burton, and Nancy Yoder of Middlefield; 40 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; a brother; three stepbrothers; and three stepsisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother; eight sisters; four brothers; a stepbrother; a son; and three grandchildren.
Service is 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Miller residence, 16826 Tavern Road, Parkman Township, with Bishop Jonas Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery in Parkman Township.
Visitation is anytime at the Miller residence.
Russell Golden Rule Funeral Service, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield, has charge of the arrangements.

Jimmie R. Snodgrass
CHESTER TOWNSHIP - Jimmie Ross Snodgrass, 72, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at the Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
He was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Bridgeport, W.Va., the son of John R. and Dorothy (Dodd) Snodgrass. After moving from Canfield, he had lived in Chester for more than 34 years.
He was a 1948 graduate of Victory High School in Clarksburg, W.Va., and received his bachelor's of administration degree from Fairmont State College in Fairmont, W.Va., in 1956.
A veteran of U.S. Navy, he was a submariner from 1948 to 1950 and during the Korean War.
He had been an accountant for General Electric for 35 years, before retiring in 1992. Mr. Snodgrass also was the owner of IMPS Consulting Service on Villaview Road in Cleveland for 25 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Somerset, Ky.
He married Frances C. Rice in Angola, Ind., in 1955.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cynthia K. Commisso of Mentor; a son, James A. Snodgrass of Lyndhurst; three grandchildren, Ernest F. Fielder, Jennifer C. Hadorn and Nicole Snodgrass; a sister, Mary Jayne Strogen of Fairmont, W.Va.; and a brother, John Snodgrass of Punta Gorda, Fla.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main St., Clarksburg, W.Va. 26301.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Clarksburg, W.Va.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland, 44119.

Clell S. Paullin Jr.
CHESTER TOWNSHIP - Clell S. Paullin Jr., 68, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital.
He was born March 15, 1933, in Chester Township, the son of Clell S. and Marian (Hill) Paullin.
Mr. Paullin was the founder and president of All Ways Flasher Service Inc. of Munson Township. He had been in business since 1964 and was still active, having worked side by side with his wife and four sons for 37 years.
He married his childhood classmate and sweetheart Audrey J. McElroy in Hartsgrove Township on Aug. 6, 1955.
Mr. Paullin was a veteran of the U.S Army, serving from 1953 to 1955. He was stationed in Germany.
From 1957 to 1964, he owned Paullin Brothers Sohio, now the BP station at Routes 306 and 322, in partnership with his brother, Earl.
He enjoyed deep-sea fishing and camping. He and his wife were members of the Midwest Coachmen, Ohio Pace Arrows, and Ontario Overlanders. They always enjoyed their grandchildren and followed many of the West Geauga girls and boys basketball games.
He was a member of the Ohio Contractors Association and ATSSA.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Dennis C. of Munson Township, Dean B. of Hambden Township, Duane E. of Huntsburg Township, and Donald L. of Chester Township; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Kelly, Nicole, Stephen, Brittany, Amanda, and Jennifer; a brother, Earl of Chester Township; and a sister, Janice Whiting of Hambden Township.
He was preceded in death by parents.
Service is 1 p.m. Monday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, with the Rev. Roy Williams of Fowlers Mill Church, Munson Township, officiating. Burial will be in Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
Calling hours are 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Charles M. McIntosh
PARKMAN TOWNSHIP - Charles M. McIntosh, 68, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at University Hospital, Cleveland.
He was born April 24, 1932, in Trumbull Township the son of Mason Alexander and Carrie (Chamberlain) McIntosh. He married Gladys Martin in 1966.
Mr. McIntosh is a 1950 graduate of West Farmington High School and was employed as a foreman at Johnson Rubber Co., Middlefield, for 30 years.
He was a member of the West Farmington VFW Post 7200. He was an avid Browns and Indians fan and enjoyed gardening and canning.
Mr. McIntosh is survived by his wife; two sons, Mike of Bristolville and Shane of Naples, Fla.; a daughter Cindy Passek of Bristolville; three sisters, Peggy Ward of Redford, Mich., Karen Sheppard of Chelsia, Mich., and Joyce Hillar of Cortland; four step-sisters, Shirley Allan and Mary K. Benton, both of Florida and Dorothy Gregory and Betty Evans, both of Texas;12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Melvin and Doug.
There will be no services.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Russell Golden Rule Funeral Home, 275 E. Main St., West Farmington.
