Darla Ann (Gang) McMath, 71, of Alliance, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 4:52 am at her home in Alliance, Ohio. Born on July 9, 1949 in Alliance, to Lacy W. and Dorothy R. (Cunningham) Wade, she lived in Alliance for most of her life. An Alliance High School graduate, Darla was employed at Buckeye Village/Giant Eagle as produce manager and retired after 45 years of service.
She was a member of B.P.O. Elks, Lodge #467, Ladies Auxiliary, VFW #3747 Auxiliary in Canton, Fraternal Order of Eagles #2199 in Minerva, AmVets Post #911 in Port Orange, FL, and the American Legion Post #361 in S. Daytona, FL. Darla enjoyed helping her husband build things, going to their home in Florida, cleaning, ironing, cooking and riding their Harley Davidson. Most of all she enjoyed spending time her family and her extended family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, John Dean McMath, Jr. whom she married on January 11, 2000; daughter, Kimberly Moorehead Knopp of Belle Plaine, MN; two sons, Gary (Hazel) Moorehead II of Alliance and Chad Mercer, Sr. of Canton; step-daughter, Lisa (Rocky) Cox of Tuscarawas; two step-sons, Tom (Andrea) McMath of Uhrichsville and Troy (Susan) McMath of Uhrichsville; two brothers, Charles L. Gang, III of Alliance and Gary A. (Susan) Gang of Daytona Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her father, Lacy W. Wade; her mother, Dorothy R. Gang; and a brother, Terry L. Gang, Sr.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, www.st.jude.org .
Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.

Harold Foster French, age 59
Harold Foster French, age 59, of Canton, went home to be with his Heavenly Father with his loving family at his side at the Cleveland Clinic on Friday, September 4, 2020
He was born May 2, 1961 in Alliance, Ohio to Austin and Vallaise (Flitcraft) French Sr.
He was a 1979 Graduate of Sebring McKinley High School. Harold joined the United States Army in their early entry program in 1978 to 1984. He also served on the Salem Auxiliary from 2004 - 2006. He then worked as a truck driver for most of his life. Most recently at Fed Ex. There wasn't anyone that Harold met that he didn't consider a friend.
He leaves behind his Sisters; Mary (Lynn) Harlan, Hopeann (Richard) Caughman and Brothers; Austin (Tricia) French Jr. and Ed (Carri) French. Along with several Nieces and Nephews; Chad (Rhonda) Harlan, Brad Harlan, Austin (Allie) French III, Trent (Danielle) French, Tiffany (Kyle) Wise, Tim Fox, Destiny French, Missy (TJ ) Nagle, Joshua, Victoria, and Maci French, Kevin (Amanda), Kyle (Allie), Nathan (Allyson) Caughman. Several Aunts, Uncles, Great Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. Preceding him in death in addition to his Parents, were his Grandparents, Sister; Karen Sue and Nephew; Landen French.
Calling hours will be held Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Funeral Home from 11am - 12pm for friends. Family will be present from 12p - 1pm. Funeral will be at 1pm with his Brother Austin French Jr, Cousin Pastor Barry French and Pastor Ray Harris Officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to help defer the funeral cost be made to Dean's Funeral Home. The family would like to Thank Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio, the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, and the VA physicians in Canton for their excellent care and compassion for Harold.

Juliette Marie (Gauthier) Conrad
Juliette Marie (Gauthier) Conrad joined the angels on Wednesday, September 1, 2020. Juliette was born on November 24, 1928 in Astorville, Ontario, Canada to Joseph and Yvonne (OuIette) Gauthier. A resident of Alliance for most of her life, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maximo. Mrs. Conrad was a beautician for many years in Alliance, operating Juliette's Beauty Chateau with her daughter. Juliette enjoyed her garden, trips to Canada to see her large family, music (especially Elvis), baking, and we all remember her wonderful pies and cookies, shopping at Big Lots, watching the Browns, but most of all loved being with her large, wonderful family. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Edward) Voytko of Alliance; her son, Rodney (Elisha) of Canton; her five grandchildren, Mark, Renee, Todd, Annette and Samuel; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Arlene Gauthier of North Bay, Ontario; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant child, Theresa Conradl; her husband, Mervin Conrad; her son, Daniel Conrad; her parents; and nine adult brothers and sisters, Ernest, Alec, Leo, Eugene, Romeo, Louis, Jane, Rita, and Lucy.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maximo. Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Joseph Ruggieri as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Maximo. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maximo PO Box 219 12055 Easton St NE, Maximo, OH 44650.

Freda Marie (May) Truman McCune
Freda Marie (May) Truman McCune, age 78, of Alliance, passed away at Salem Hospital on September 2, 2020.
She was born February 4, 1942 to George William and Rosetta Katherine (Brunner) May.
She was a graduate of Alliance High School.
She was a former employee of American Steel Foundries and later a STNA caring for the elderly for 25 years. Freda was a secretary of the Knox Senior Citizens.
She loved reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Freda also enjoyed her dogs and raising chickens.
Those left to cherish her memory are, sons, Ronzle A. Truman, James D. (Heidi) McCune; daughter, Amy Joy Fotheringham; grandchildren, Cody Allen Fotheringham, Sara Marie (James) Rosenberger, Kati Renee Fotheringham, Elizabeth Suzanne McCune, James David McCune Jr., Matthew Alan McCune; brother, George May; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Gabriel, Abram, Brooklyn, Asher, and Samuel Fotheringham, Emalee and Charles Rosenberger; sister, Diana Lee (John) Ormiston; and many nieces and nephews. Freda was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William, John, Jacob, Michael, and Jake May; sisters, Laura and Emma May, Claradell Heslep, Francis Bowman, Leona Thompson, Wanda Donahoe, and Edith May. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Cassaday-Turkle Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Betty R. Middleton, 93
Betty R. Middleton Age 93, of Alliance, passed away at home surrounded by her family on September 2, 2020.
She was born August 25, 1927 to William and Emma Knecht.
She was a graduate of Alliance High School. She retired as President of Jarman Printing Company. Betty was a great tole painter. She enjoyed playing cards and camping. Betty loved following her grandchildren to their sporting events. Betty was a member of The Vine (Bolton United Methodist Church).
Those left to cherish her memory are, son, Dan (Carolyn) Middleton of Alliance; daughters, Karen (Ray) Barker of Alliance and Linda Sawyer of Montgomery, TX; grandchildren, Erin Barker - Brown (Jeff Brown), Kristen (Paul) McCaulley, Jodi (Jody) Kirgan and Seth Sawyer; great-granddaughter, Sawyer Kirgan; great-grandson Davis Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George D. Middleton, whom she married February 14, 1947 and who passed away July 2, 2014; sisters, Wava Marzittelli and Dorothy Shutts. A private service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to The Vine 1544 W Vine St, Alliance, OH 44601.

Robert L. Gillman
Robert L. Gillman, Age 79, of Alliance, passed away at Alliance Community Hospital on September 1, 2020.
He was born February 23, 1941 to Columbus R. Gillman and Enos C. (Collins) Gillman. Robert was employed as Baker and as a construction worker.
He was a member of The Dante Club.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his significant other, Bonnie Syme; daughters, Laura Mays of Alliance and Loretta Edgell of Akron; son, Robert C. Gillman of Lake Placid, FL; son in law, Andrew Edgell; brothers, Charles Gillman, Dennis Gillman and John Thomas, all of Alliance; sisters, Juanita Duncan, Doris Garton, and Lulla Knerr of Sandusky; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; three sisters; son in law, Russell Mays; and two great-grandchildren. There will be a visitation and sharing of memories at Cassaday-Turkle Christian Funeral Home on Friday, September 4th from 5 - 6 PM.

Eloise J. (Haynes) Marshall, 91
Eloise J. (Haynes) Marshall, 91, of Alliance passed away at Stone Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care on Sunday, August 30, 2020. Eloise was born on February 1, 1929 in Beloit, Ohio to the late Roy and Sarah (Gardner) Rouse. Eloise worked at Salem Community Hospital. When she wasn't working she enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening and walking. Above all Eloise enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Eloise is survived by her daughter Donna (George) Jackson of Salem, Ohio; son Timothy W. (Nora) Haynes of Chino, CA.; stepdaughter Jodi (Jeff) Thompson of Alliance, Ohio; grandchildren Terri, Christine, Shelley, Tom, Rob, Tyler, Terry, Trevor, Sara, Alyssa and Samantha; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wayne R. Haynes and William Marshall; daughters Nancy Votaw Lucas and Cathy Sanor. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Harshman officiating. Friends and family will be received the hour prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Beloit. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alliance Salvation Army, 57 W. Main St. Alliance, Ohio 44601. Everybody in attendance should adhere to the mandated guidelines and wear masks and appropriately social distance.

Lois Y. Laubert, age 83
Lois Y. Laubert, age 83, of Alliance, passed away peacefully at Mercy Medical Center with her family by her side on Saturday August 29, 2020.
She was born May 11, 1937 in Alliance, Ohio to Arthur E. and Helen M. (Kommel) Baith. Lois was a 1955 graduate of Alliance High School and was employed as a school bus driver for the Marlington School District until her retirement.
She was a former member of Lexington United Methodist Church. Lois liked to sew, crochet and play cards. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Linda (Jeff) Mandusky and Susan Austin; son, David Laubert; grandson, Jeff Austin; brother, Richard D. Baith; sisters, Kay (James) McKinley and Deborah Baith; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol Diane Evans; brother, Arthur 'Bud' Baith; nephew, Eric Bishop; and a great-nephew, Austin Bishop. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday, September 2nd at Cassaday-Turkle Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 4 - 6 PM prior to the service. Paul K. Lee, age 60
Alliance - After a long courageous battle with cancer Paul K. Lee, age 60 passed away peacefully on August 21st, 2020. Paul was born 1960 to Huey and Ida Mae (Stafford) Lee. Paul was an avid Cleveland sports fan and loved his dog Zoie. He was an active member of the Dante Alighieri Society and The William Penn Club, where he enjoyed the company of many friends. He is survived by his life partner ; Kathy Jones, a daughter; Rachel Papic, sisters ; Sherry (Bill) Arnal of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Lori Lee of Punta Gorda, Fla, Barb (John) Twyman of Alliance, and brothers; Mike Lee and Rick Lee both of Alliance. There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.

Robert T. Ruth, age 92
"Together Forever"
Robert T. Ruth, age 92, of Alliance, passed away peacefully at Stonecreek Assisted Living.
He was born May 18th 1928, to Robert W. and Freda (Taylor) Ruth. Bob was a graduate of Alliance High School, and went on to graduate from Mount Union College where he was a member of the golf teams. He went on to serve his country honorable in the United States Army.
He was employed by Morgan Engineering and East Ohio Machinery as an accountant for a many years until his retirement at age 70.
He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church. Bob had a great love and affection for his family and the memories of all the happy times at parties, holidays and of babysitting. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in his yard and garden. Bob was a member of the Alliance Country Club for over 60 years. At the club he served in many different leadership positions from the Board of Directors, Secretary, Treasurer, Grounds Chairman, and Golf Chairman.
He was a 5 time ACC Men's Club Champion, where he was known as 'The Fox.' He had 5 holes in one and 1 double eagle! He served the Alliance community also as a member of the AHS Foundation, Mount Union Fund, American Legion and Sigma Nu Fraternity.
He was an avid sports fan from his alma mater of AHS to UMU, OSU and all the Cleveland professional teams.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Rhonda (Dwight) Kress; son, Robert A. Ruth; grandchildren, Jill (Larry) Hoffman and Kelly (Tom) Baab; great-grandchildren, Allison, Joseph, Abigail Hoffman and Belle, Ciera, Kodey and Zayne Trent, and Raylin Baab.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Josephine (Gilmore) Ruth; and his wife, Doris (Karlen) Ruth, whom he married October 18, 1953 and passed away on October 27, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Red Cross 408 9th Street Canton, Ohio 44707. Visitation will be held Saturday August 29th at Cassaday-Turkle Christian Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at noon, with Pastor Jim McCurdy officiating. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. For the safety of the Ruth family and visitors, please adhere to social distancing, and bring your own mask.
