Michael J. Winebrenner

Michael J. Winebrenner, 50 of Norfolk, VA formerly of Amherst and Lorain passed away at his residence in Norfolk on Thursday, May 26, 2011 following a brief illness.
Mr. Winebrenner was born in Lorain on December 3, 1960, the son of the late Clinton J. Winebrenner, Sr. and Lucille ( nee Steffani) Winebrenner, who survives him..
He worked as a laborer at Ship yards in VA since 1997.
In addition to his mother Lucille of Lorain, he is survived by a sister(s): Patricia Chambers of Lorain, brothers Clint Winebrenner, Jr. of Amherst, Wayne Winebrenner of Elyria, Robert Winebrenner of Amherst, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clinton J. Winebrenner, Sr.
Friends may call on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 4-7 pm in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain with a Celebration of His Life at 7:00 PM.
Burial will be private.

James "Jim" Elmer Camera

James E. " Jim" Camera, 86 , of Lorain died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria following a brief illness.
Mr. Camera was born in Lorain on April 6, 1924, the son of the late James and Tresa M. (nee Panuzzi) Camera. He was a life long resident. He was a member of the Church of St. Peter Catholic Church in Lorain.
He served in the 247th Combat Engineers of the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a part of the forces landing at Omaha Beach, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and fought through to Berlin. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal w/5 Bronze Stars.
Mr. Camera was a partner in the former Scotton Ford - Mercury Dealership in Vermilion for many years.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Louis Proy Post # 20, Italian American Veterans Post # 1, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 6273 in Oberlin. He was also a member of the Retired Businessmen of Lorain, AA, and formerly active at the Oberlin Country Club.
Mr. Camera was an avid golfer, enjoying spending as much time as possible on the "links."
He is survived by his wife, with whom he just celebrated his 65th wedding anniversary, Cecelia M. (nee Reed) a loving and devoted daughter Kathleen M Weston of Elyria, grandchildren Jeffery J. Konowal, Heather M. Forbes, Amanda M. Dieguez, great grandchildren Eric V. Dieguez, Ava M. Forbes, Kenneth J. Forbes, brothers Frank (Mary Ann) Camera of Amherst, Charles (Carmella) Camera of Lorain, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Joseph Camera, Jack Camera and Patsy Camera.
Friends may call on Thursday, March 31, 2011 in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain from 4-7 p.m..
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 at 9:30 am in The Church of St. Peter Catholic Church, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, with Father Craig Hovanec, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park cemetery in Amherst Township with full military honors provided jointly by American Legion Post # 30 and The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 451.

Corrine L. Carpmail

Corrine L. Carpmail, 51, (nee Merrill) of Lorain passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2011 at her home following a long illness.
Mrs. Carpmail was a US Army veteran, serving from 1978-1981. She earned the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Army Service Ribbon for overseas service.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Craig C. Carpmail, sons Christopher C. and Stephen J. Carpmail both of Lorain, sisters, Caroline A (Russell) King, of Springvale, Maine, Sherry L. (Craig Smoot) Merrill, of Quarryville, PA, brothers, Jay W Merrill of Naugatuck, CN, Wade A Merrill of Springvale, Maine, and Eric P Merrill, of New Haven, CN.
Memorial Services will be on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain with Chaplain Mark Telepak of the Crossroads Hospice, officiating. A Celebration of Corrine's life will follow the memorial sevice beginning at 12:30 pm at Mutt & Jeff's, 3700 Oberlin Ave., Lorain.
Full military honors will be provided at the funeral home jointly by the VFW Post 451 and the American Legion Post 30.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Road, Suite 270, Valley View, Ohio 44125

Ernest A. Malham

Ernest A. Malham, 84, of Elyria, died Wednesday, September 27, 2011 at the Wesleyan Village in Elyria following a brief illness.
Mr. Malham was born in Oberlin on July 21, 1927, a son of the late Ernest A and Minnie A. (nee Lange) Malham, Sr.
He was a 1945 graduate of Oberlin High School. He was a member of the F & AM Masonic Lodge # 380 of Oberlin and the Amherst Eastern Star. He enjoyed growing flowers and pursued his interest following his retirement.
He retired as a imput processor in the accounting department at Ford Motor Company in Avon. Mr. Malham began his career at Ford in 1958.
Mr. Malham is survived by his neice Karen F. Pitkin of Cherry Hill, New Jersey and a nephew Phillip of Texas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Peg" (nee Strauss) Malham, a sister Beatrice Ruth Baldwin, a brother Raymond A. Malham, and a neice and a nephew.
Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park cemetery in Amherst Township.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2011 at 3:30 pm in the chapel at Weselyan Village, 805 West Street, Elyria with Chaplain Beth McKee, officiating.

Doris C. McAuley

Doris Caroline May McAuley (nee Beckett), 84, of Lorain, was called home to rest on June 7, 2011. Doris was born in Sebring, OH on January 29, 1927.
She attended Sebring McKinley High School. She left high school to help the war effort in WW II by working at the Strong Enamel Co. making canteens for our troops.
Doris moved to Lorain in 1955.
With her husband James May, Doris was active with her children's activities including PTA's, baseball teams, and cub scouts to name a few.
Doris worked for Dr. P. Pastichiuw for 20 years as a medical assistant. She was active in the Lorain County Medical Assistants, where she was a past president. After retirement, she spent a time giving home health exams for an insurance company.
She was an avid bowler all her life until her health made her quit. She had many awards and trophies and belonged to the Lorain Bowling Assn. "600 Club." She also enjoyed playing bridge, bingo, and her monthly bus trips to the casinos. She was a past member of the Women of the Moose and VFW Auxiliary.
Her family was the most important thing in the world to her, and was her favorite thing. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her family including going without herself to help any of them. She loved spending time with her great grandchildren.
Doris will be missed by her three sons; Dennis (Nancy) May, James (Vickie) May, both of Lorain, and Thomas (Ruby) May of Vermilion, grandchildren and step grandchildren; Melanie Lore, Megan Perkins, Jimmy May, Michael May, Angie May, Bobby Green, Stacey Green, and Ryan Harris, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by; her parents, Russell and Alta (Cower) Beckett, her husband John McAuley, brothers, Dale Beckett and Donald Beckett, sister, Leona Workman, nephews, James Dale Beckett and John Beckett.
Friends may call on Friday, June 10, 2011 in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain from 6-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with the Rev. Doug Thatcher, of Vermilion Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 3:00 pm in Grandview cemetery in Sebring, with Mr. Michael Kimball, pastor of the of Sebring Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4500 Rockside Rd. Suite 440, Independence, OH 44131.

Mirian M. Wood

Marian M. Wood,(nee Peters), 79, of Lorain passed away on Wednesday,June 29, 2011 at the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness.
Mrs. Wood was born on December 28, 1931 in Cleveland to the late Fred J. and Clara E. (nee Hurren) Peters. She was a graduate of Shaw High School. She earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education following studies at both Ohio University and The Ohio State University in 1954. She has lived in Lorain for the past 53 years.
She continuously assisted her husband and then her son at the Lorain Animal Clinic. She also taught kindergarten for the Lorain City Schools from 1959-1960.
She was a member of the American Association of University Women, Wimodaughsis, several book clubs and golf leagues. She enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends.
Mrs. Wood was an active member in the Heritage Presbyterian Church.
She was an Elder, Clerk of Sessions, a Sunday School teacher, member of the choir, an organist and pianist and attended Bible Study groups.
She is survived by her husband Dr. Wilfred C. Wood, to whom she was married on September 13, 1952. Also surviving are her children, Judy A Wood of Lorain, Debbie J. (Tim) Pihlblad, Tom W.(Melinda) Wood, David J. (Robin) Wood, Laura J. (Rick) Bobek all of Lorain, her grandchildren, Matt Pihlblad, Ryan Pihlblad, Patrick Wood, Connor Wood, Sydney Wood, Lindsey Wood, Meghan Bobek, Emily Bobek, Will Bobek, sisters Evelyn Shriver of Holland, MI, Catherine (Bob) Wagner of Reynoldsburg,OH and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Heritage Presbyterian Church, 515 North Leavitt Road, Amherst, Ohio 44001 with Rev. Dr.Malcolm Peel and Rev. James E. Smucker, officiating.
Burial will be in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park cemetery.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Presbyterian Church, PO Box 834,Amherst, Ohio 44001 or the donor’s favorite charity in her memory.

Janet Zimmerman

Janet E. Zimmerman, 70, of Lorain died unexpectedly Wednesday July 13, 2011 at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland.
Ms. Zimmerman was born in Lorain on January 24, 1941, the daughter of the late John W. and Ruth (nee Downey) Zimmerman.
She graduated from Clearview High School, class of 1959.
She loved casinos, fishing, racing, and was an avid bingo player.
She was a medical secretary at Fairview Hospital for 15 yrs She also worked at MetroHealth Medical Center and SpanMaster in Avon Lake.
Mrs. Zimmerman is survived by a daughter; Jennifer Zimmerman of Medina, two sons Daniel Zimmerman of Lorain, Craig (Denise) Zimmerman of Lexington, KY, granddaughters; Alyss Zimmerman, Kayla Maiorana, McKenna Maiorana, a grandson, Joshua Zimmerman, brothers; Jack (Mary Lynn) Zimmerman of Capr Coral, FL, Thomas (Melody) Zimmerman of Lorain, sisters; Darlene Ewing of Pinson, AL and Carol Russo of Lorain.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Violet Muhich, and a brother Edward Zimmerman.
Friends may call on Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. A Celebration of Janet's Life will follow visitation at 3:00 pm on Saturday in the Scwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 West 5th St. Lorain, OH 44052 with Pastor Rich Henry of Amherst Church of the Nazarene officiating.
Burial will be private.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Clinic at Fairview, 18101 Lorain Ave., Cleveland, OH 44111
