Eunice Cretors, 96, Ada, died Nov. 26, 1998 at Hardin Hills Health Center in Kenton. She was born Feb. 22,1902, in Ada to Samuel C. and Coral (Huffman) Smith. On May 29, 1926 she married Raymond Beamer Cretors, and he died Dec. 14, 1985. Survivors include a niece, Cynthiann (John) Mooth of Cincinnati; a cousin, Elfreda M. Rusher of Bowling Green; and caregivers, Saundra Neely of Ada, and Bill and Kay Evans of Kenton. She was preceded in death by a brother, Merwin J. Smith and a sister, Evelyn S. Fulks. Mrs. Cretors was a homemaker and a retired deputy clerk at Hardin County Probate Court for eight years. She was one of the oldest members of the First United Methodist Church of Ada. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #6 of Ada, Worthy Matron and former president of District 26 of O.E.S., and a member of the Ada Senior Citizens. Mrs. Cretors was a graduate of Ada High School and a 1919 graduate of Ohio Northern University. She was also an honorary member of the Sorosis Club. Funeral services were held Nov. 29, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with the Rev. George Reed, OSL, officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Ada.

Blanche E. Hinebaugh, 95, of Fairfield Glade, Tenn., formerly of Dunkirk, died Nov. 24, 1998 at Country Place Health Care Center, Crossville, Tenn. She was born July 31, 1903, in Blanchard Station to Willard and Mollie Furr Harmon. On April 24, 1923, she married Donald S. Hinebaugh Sr., who died June 11, 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn L. Winebrenner of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Hinebaugh Jr.; and two brothers, Millard and Leonard Harmon. Mrs. Hinebaugh was a homemaker and a member of Walnut Grove Untied Methodist Church. She was a life member of Order of Easter Star Chapter 37, Dunkirk, and Royal Neighbors. Services were held Nov. 28 at Schindewolf-Stevens-Stout Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thomas Hite officiating. Burial was in Dunkirk Cemetery.

James L. Moore, 67, of Reynoldsburg, died peacefully at home on Nov. 26, 1998. He was born Aug. 16, 1931, in West Virginia to Lester and Lena Moore. On Dec. 31, 1959, he married Dolores Wickline and she survives in Reynoldsburg. Survivors also include two sons, J. Layne (Pam) Moore of Hilliard and Bryan R. (Julianne) Moore of Pickerington; a daughter, Lenora Ann (Harry) Lehwald of Anderson, S.C.; two sisters, Erda Marie (Jack) Romans of Elyria and Mary Chandler of Scott Depot, W.Va.; and five grandsons, Jordan Moore, Kyle and Bryce Lehwald and Lucas and Galen Moore. Mr. Moore was a graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology and Marshall University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He spent his career as an administrator in higher education. He served as assistant registrar at Marshal University from 1958 to 1964. He was registrar at Towson State University from 1964 to 1966, and at Ohio Northern University from 1966 to 1991. He was a past-president of OACRAO. There will be no funeral. A private burial will be held on Dec. 2 at White Chapel Cemetery in Barboursville, W. Va. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. at the English Chapel on the Ohio Northern University campus. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, 299 E. Darrell Thomas, 55, Lima, died Nov. 26, 1998 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney. He was born April 20, 1943, in Lima to Harley and Goldie Whetstone Thomas. Survivors include a son, Douglas Scott Thomas; three daughters, Mimi Kae Thomas and Shannon Nicole Thomas, both of Cincinnati, and Melissa Joy Thomas; two brothers, Lynn Kirwin Thomas of Lafayette and Walter Thomas of Lima; a sister, Ruth E. Freed of Elida; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Debra Maureen Thomas and Kimberly Ann Thomas; two brothers, Russell Franklin and Ernest J. Thomas; three sisters, Lenore Christina Thomas, Martha Jane Prine and Betty Lou Boothby. Mr. Thomas was a laborer for Plastipak, Jackson Center. Services were held Nov. 30 at Siferd Westwood Chapel, with the Rev. David Radcliffe officiating. Burial was in St. Matthew Cemetery.

Ray A. Wildermuth, 75, Lafayette, died Nov. 30, 1998 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born July 29, 1923, in Lima to William J. and Rachel E. Spellman Wildermuth. On July 29, 1967, he married Doris Lee Beiersdorfer, who survives. Survivors also include a daughter, Michelle (Michael) Fuerst of Lima; a stepdaughter, Constance (James) Zulliger of Dayton; three brothers, Oliver Wildermuth and Jack Wildermuth, both of Lima, and Lee Wildermuth of Franklin; and a sister, Esther Ballinger of Hicksville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Olan Wildermuth; and a sister, Doris Wildermuth. Mr. Wildermuth was a farmer and worked at Lafayette Coop Elevator. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Services were held this morning, Dec. 2 at Lewis Chapel of Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Richard Steigleder officiating. Internment was in Memorial Park Mausoleum, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church.

Winona M. McCord, 80, Lafayette, died Dec. 29, 1998 at her residence in Lafayette. She was born June 26, 1918, to William M. and Nettie G. Oglesbee Hall in her parent's home in Lafayette. On Nov. 25, 1950, she married James M. McCord and he died Nov. 24, 1993. Survivors include caregivers, Richard and Jackie Ackerman of Lafayette and Merle and Lucille Cheney of Ada. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Helser and Earsel W. Hall. Mrs. McCord was a retired executive legal insurance secretary and secretary with the Lima U. S. Ordinance Tank Automotive Command. She was a graduate of the Lafayette-Jackson High School in 1936, and attended Northwestern School of Commerce. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Eastern Star Chapter 121, both of Lafayette. She was a member of the First Families before 1840 and the Allen County Centennial Farm (1832). Services were held Jan. 2, 1999 at Siferd Westwood Chapel. Burial was in Lafayette Cemetery. Lafayette Eastern Star Chapter 121 had special services on Jan. 1, 1999. Memorial contributions may be made to Lafayette-Jackson Volunteer Fire and Rescue Dept. and/or to the Johnny Appleseed Metro Parks.

Harry H. "Fuzzy" Williams, 80, Ada, died Jan. 4, 1999 at his residence in Ada following an extended illness. He was born May 2, 1918, in Hardin County to Ira Gern and Olive Etta (Taylor) Williams. On March 27, 1937, he married Marguerite "Maggie" McElroy, and she survives in Ada. Survivors include four sons, William "Bill" (Pauline) Williams of Bluffton, Thomas L. (Jean) Williams, Neil E. (Keitha) Williams and Jack Williams, all of Ada; four daughters, Apache (Pat) Williams of Dola, Margaret "Cricket" (Raymond) Mefford of Dayton, Linda (William) Cheney of Ada, and Robin (Michael) Romick of Bluffton; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Harry Edward Williams; three brothers, Willie, Orville and Bob Williams; and two sisters, Gladys Neu and Mildred Curl. Mr. Williams was retired from Ohio Northern University in Ada, as a maintenance and grounds keeper for 10 years. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. His memberships included a life time member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 and a member of Ada Liberty Conservation Club. He was also a taxidermist and avid hunter and fisherman. Public memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9 at Ada VFW Post #9381, Ada. The body will be cremated. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Ada Visiting Nurses and Hospice.

Geraldine "Geri" Grant, 62, Ada, died Dec. 31, 1998 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 17, 1936 in Ada, to Donald and Ida (Shulaw) Rambo. On Feb. 16, 1952, she married Dale R. Grant and he died Feb. 16, 1991. Survivors include two sons, Terry (Norma) Grant of New Port, N.C. and Donald (Phyllis) Grant of Roundhead; two daughters, Doreen (Donald) Burkholder and Lee Ann (Darin) McCullough, both of Ada; one brother, David Rambo of Roundhead; two sisters, Verna (John) McCafferty of Russells Point and Lucille (Carl) Castle of Roundhead; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Grant on April 9, 1997; and five sisters, Delores Shoffner, Virginia Dapice, Patricia Grant, Norma McCafferty and Phyllis Mullins. Mrs. Grant was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ada Church of Christ Disciples, a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship of the church, and was clerk for the church board. Services were held Jan. 5, 1999 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert Shields officiating. Burial was in Preston Cemetery, Alger. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ada Church of Christ Disciples, Ada.

Mildred A. Peterson, 86, Lafayette, died Dec. 28, 1998 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born July 5, 1912, in Patterson, N. J. to Herman and Rose Post. On July 30, 1932, she married Francis Neil Peterson and he died Dec. 26, 1980. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Lee Linton of Lafayette; a foster daughter, Pamela S. (Richard) Feldner of Harrod; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William C. Peterson; a brother, Gerald Post; and a sister, Rose Vegso. Mrs. Peterson was retired from Range Kleen and Anthony Brothers Catering. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. She was a Girl Scout leader for several years and provided home care for children for many years. Services were held Dec. 31 at the Lewis Chapel. Entombment was in Lafayette Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lafayette-Jackson Rescue Squad.

Doyle Neal, 82, Belle Center, died Dec. 30, 1998 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was born Sept. 7, 1916, in Holden, Auglaize County, to Chester K. and Mamie Knotts Neal. On May 13, 1940, he married Elnora M. Newland Neal and she died Dec. 6, 1998. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Zahller of Bellefontaine and Tammy (Robert) James of Belle Center; one son, Larry (Pam) Neal of Huntsville; one brother, Robert V. Neal of Inverness, Fla.; three grandchildren, Josh Zahller, Cody James and Alyssa James; one nephew, Ivan "Eddie" Gratz of Indianapolis, Ind.; and many cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Derwin. Mr. Neal was a self-employed carpenter. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He attended Huntsville United Methodist Church and the Charles R. Collins Post #381, American Legion, both of Huntsville. Services were held Jan. 5, 1999 at Van Horn Funeral Home, Lakeview, with the Rev. Russell D. Williams officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Logan County Heart Fund.

Marjorie A. "Margie" Cotner, 84, Lima, died Jan. 1, 1999 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born Feb. 2, 1914, in Cleveland to W. Ralph and Edna M. Hart Rhoads. On Nov. 13, 1936, she married Joe L. Cotner and he survives. Survivors also include two sons, David (Charlotte) Cotner of Memphis, Tenn. and Laurence "Larry" (Jackie) Cotner of Lima; one sister, Lois Walke of Clearwater, Fla.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Cotner was a homemaker. She was a member of Shawnee Church of Christ. She graduated from Evart High School in Evart, Mich. She also completed her elementary school teacher training in Evart, Mich. Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7 at Shawnee Chapel of Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Molaski officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Shawnee Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shawnee Church of Christ.

Maynard Paul Bosserman, 74, died Nov. 4, 1998 at the Hospice at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. He was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Williamstown, Ohio, to Harry and Gladys Bosserman. Survivors include a son, David (Miriam) Bosserman; a granddaughter, Marie Bosserman of Angleton, Texas; and a brother, Willis Bosserman of Sebring, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Evelyn Armentrout, in June of 1990. Mr. Bosserman was a 1942 graduate of Dola High School. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a long time member of the choir of the First Unitarian Church. Memorial services were held Nov. 8 at the First Unitarian Church in Houston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas, or the American Cancer Society.

Mary M. Hoffer, 65, Rawson, died Dec. 29, 1998 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Bluffton to John M. and Esther H. Lichty Dunbar. On Sept. 3, 1949, she married Roy Hoffer Jr., who survives. Survivors also include four sons, William (Diane) Hoffer and Mark (Carol) Hoffer, both of Ada, and David (Mary) Hoffer and Roger (Connie) Hoffer, both of Bluffton; a brother, Donavin Dunbar of Ada; two sisters, Alice Grant and Dorothy Hermann, both of Bluffton; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Lee Hoffer; and a brother, John Dunbar Jr. Mrs. Hoffer was a homemaker and had worked at Bluffton Community Hospital, Triplett Corp. of Bluffton, and Winebrenner Village of Findlay. Services were held Jan. 2 at the Bluffton Chapel of Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, with the Revs. Roger Ford and Charles Warren officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery, Bluffton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer Mennonite Church.

Jacob B. Smith, 89, Celina, died Dec. 31, 1998 at Van Wert County Hospital. He was born May 7, 1909 in Coldwater to Edward and Maude Martin Smith. On March 11, 1939, he married Marcille Vorhess, who survives. Survivors also include two daughters, Judy (Richard) Luebrecht of Wapakoneta and Joyce (David) Howell of Celina; two brothers, Roger Smith of Celina and Gene Smith of Ada; two sisters, Mary Ashman of Portland, Ind., and Hildred Betz of Fort Recovery; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Mr. Smith retired from Mersman Corp., Celina. He was a member of Celina Church of the Nazarene and Mercer County Sportsmen Association. He was a graduate of Coldwater High School. Services were held Jan. 4 at W.H. Dick and Sons Funeral Home, Celina, with the Rev. Stanley Gerboth officiating. Burial was in Swamp College Cemetery, Celina. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or American Heart Association.

Cloa O. Hershberger, 72, Dunkirk, died Jan. 3, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 24, 1926, in Lima, to Manuel and Mabel (Bowers) Boyer. She married Thomas L. Hershberger on June 6, 1957, and he survives. Survivors also include one son, Robert of Dunkirk; one brother, Gerald Boyer of Dunkirk; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard. Mrs. Hershberger retired from Ohio Northern University in 1985. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Dunkirk and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 8832 of Roundhead. Services were held this morning, Jan. 6 at Price Funeral Home, Dunkirk, with Joe Oman Jr. officiating. Burial was in Dunkirk Cemetery.

George I. Spaeth, 67, Lewisville, formerly of rural Ada, died Dec. 28, 1998 in Mercy Medical Center in Canton. He was born March 14, 1931, in Findlay to George E. and Marcene Kimble Spaeth. On April 27, 1953, he married Toyoko "Toy" Ezaski in Japan, and she survives in Canton. Mr. Spaeth was retired from Ashland Oil Company, Canton. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Canton. Services were held Dec. 31, 1998 at Stier Israel Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Hayward officiating. Attending from the area were, his aunt, Ada Mae Kimble of Ada; and cousins, Claude John of Pandora, Mrs. Leo Kimble of La Rue and her daughter, Linda Smith of Marion.

Marie L. Moe, 96, Ada, died Jan. 12, 1999 at Hardin Hills Health Center in Kenton. She was born March 5, 1902, in Dunkirk, to Edward Frederick and Minnie Blanche (Robinson) Dirmeyer. On Feb. 16, 1929, she married Clarence H. Jump and he died in February of 1940. On Jan. 23, 1943, she married Earl Moe and he died Nov. 11, 1995. Survivors include one son, Robert E. (Jane) Jump of Ada; and two daughters, Dorothy (Donavin) Zimmerly and Clarice (Harold) Henry, both of Ada; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen LaRoche. Mrs. Moe was a homemaker. She was a member of Sugar Grove United Methodist Church of Ada, and its United Methodist Women's group. She was also a member of the former Farm Bureau Council #10. Mrs. Moe was a graduate of the International Business College of Fort Wayne, Ind. Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 15 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with the Rev. Karen Walters officiating. Burial will be in Dola Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 3­8 p.m. and until time of services on Friday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Memorials may be made to the Hardin Hills Health Center, Sugar Grove United Methodist Church or Hardin Hospice Care of Kenton.

Judith M. "Judy" Singer, 70, Lakeview, formerly of Ada, died Jan. 8, 1999 at her residence. She was born April 27, 1928, in Hancock County to Frank Glen and Mildred (Klingler) Montgomery. On July 26, 1950, she married Roy N. Singer and he died Oct. 26, 1970. Survivors include four sons, Eric (Susan) Singer of Virginia Beach, Va., Dennis (Doris) Singer of Nuernberg, Germany, William Singer of Homer, Ill. and Philip (Nancy) Singer of Williamsburg, Pa.; three daughters, Deanna Conley and Brenda (Ronnie) Cheney, both of Ada, and Marla (Danny) Heyman of Verona, N.J.; one brother, Earl (Kathleen) Montgomery of Rawson; two sisters, Wanda Montgomery of Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla. and Rosemary (Paul) VanAtta of Lakeview; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Singer was a retired licensed practical nurse. She attended the Indian Lake Community Church and was a member of the Women's International Bowling Congress. She was an avid bowler. Services will be held today, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with the Rev. Dr. Manuel Tamayo officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.

Margaret B. Edwards (Poe), 91, Ada, died Jan. 5, 1999 at Paradise Oaks Nursing Facility of Cloverdale. She was born May 24, 1907, in Kalida to Samuel and Chloe Castle Miller. She married Thomas E. Edwards and he died Aug. 14, 1971. Survivors include three sons, Richard Edwards of Belleview, Fla., Bud (Mary) Edwards of Moore, S.C. and Keith (Becky) Edwards of Grover Hill, Ohio; one daughter, Patricia (Bill) Shambarger of Ada; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Conrad "Tim" Edwards; one brother, Calvin P. Miller; two sisters, Mildred Allemeier; and infant sister, Gracie Miller. Mrs. Edwards was a homemaker. Services were held Jan. 9 at Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, with Pastor Eugene Purdy officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove, Delphos. Memorials may be made to Paradise Oaks Nursing Facility, Cloverdale.

Richard E. Long, 90, New York, N.Y., formerly of Ada, died Nov. 26, 1998, in New York City. He married Grace Schuster in 1939, and she survives in New York, N.Y. Survivors also include a brother, Russell J. Long of Beaumont, Texas; and a sister, Margaret Farnlacher of Clayton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Professor E. E. Long and Olive Long (Professor Long taught at Ohio Northern University for many years and kept books at the Ada Herald). He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Thorpe; and two brothers, James "Timer" Long and Jessie R. Long. Mr. Long was the past president of the New York Athletic Club. A graduate of Ohio Northern University, Long was an athlete competing in both football and basketball. His basketball exploits led to his being voted in the O.N.U. Hall of Fame in 1975. In the early 1930s, he moved to New York and joined the NYAC as an athletic member, playing on on the club's basketball team. During World War II, Long joined the U.S. Navy rising to the rank of commander. In recognition of his accomplishments as an athlete, administrator, and bridge expert, Long was voted into the NYAC Hall of Fame in the 1980s. A memorial service will be held in his honor at the New York Athletic Club on Jan. 18. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the NYAC Athletes Fund.

Marylou Oates Maidlow, 75, Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Lafayette, died Jan. 6, 1999, in Florida. She was born July 8, 1923, in Yellow Springs. She married John T. Maidlow, who survives in Sarasota, Fla. Survivors also include two sons, Spencer T. Maidlow of Saginaw, Mich., and Mark W. Maidlow of Castro Valley, Calif.; a daughter, Margaret "Meg" Polk of Rocky Mount, N.C.; a brother, William Oates of Kettering; and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Maidlow was a homemaker. She had been a secretary for McCalls Publishing Co., Dayton She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Palms. She had worked with disabled children at the Presbyterian Church and volunteered at the Old Doctors Hospital, both in Medina. She was a member of the Forest Lakes Women's Golf Association. Memorial services will begin at 3 p.m. on Jan. 29 at Presbyterian Church of the Palms. Memorial contributions may be made to a local Parkinson's Disease Association; American Parkinson's Disease Association, 116 John St., New York, N.Y. 10038; or Sunnyside Foundation INc., 5201 Bonia Vista St., Sarasota, Fla. 34232. Arrangements are by the National Cremation Society.

Ollie Bailey, 88, Kenton, formerly of Forest and Okeechobee, Fla., died Jan. 10, 1999 at Baldwin Manor, Kenton. She was born Jan. 28, 1910, in Floyd Co., Ky., to Lewis and Anna (Ousley) Bradley. She married William Bailey on March 8, 1924, and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1965. Survivors include one son, James of Alger; one daughter, Cora (Kenneth) Holcomb of Kenton; 13 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Lewis; one daughter, Reba Beltz; one brother, Isac Bradley; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Bailey was a former member of Quickstep Pentecostal Church, Alger. She retired from DWG Cigar Corporation, Lima. Services will be held today, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. at Shields Funeral Home, Forest, by the Rev. James Holbrook. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. Memorial contributions may be made to Baldwin Manor Activity Fund and Hardin Hospice Care, Kenton.

Lillian Plate, 80, Lafayette, died Jan. 15, 1999 at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton. She was born June 14, 1918, in Lafayette to Clyde and Jeanette (Selover) Snyder. On Aug. 29, 1937, she married Myron Plate and he survives in Lafayette. Survivors also include two sons, Gary (Nancy) Plate of Branden, Fla. and Errol (Bonnie) Plate of Adrian, Mich.; two daughters, Linny (Robert) Fleming of Lafayette and Lisa (Dennis) Roney of Lima; three brothers, Kenneth Snyder of Fairfield Glades, Tenn., Keith (Kathryn) Snyder of Lafayette and Edward (Dorothy) Snyder of Waterville; one sister, Mildred Hawk of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Herschel; and an infant sister, Pauline Snyder. Mrs. Plate was a homemaker and also cooked for the Lafayette School. She clerked for Wayne's Market in Lafayette and worked at The Colonial Golfer's Club. Mrs. Plate attended the Congregational Christian Church of Lafayette. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #121 of Lafayette where she was a former Worthy Matron. Services were held Jan. 19 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with the Rev. Robert R. Brown officiating. Memorial services were conducted by the Lafayette OES Chapter #121 on Jan. 18. Following the funeral services, the body was cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton.

Albert "Red" Harmon, 90, Ada, died Jan. 12, 1999 at Lost Creek Care Center of Lima. He was born Aug. 24, 1908 in Prestonsburg, Ky. to Patrick and Mildred K. (Fraiser) Harmon. On Aug. 15, 1937, he married Flossie Music and she died June 10, 1986. Survivors include one son, Stephen (Sheila) Harmon of Cridersville, three daughters, Vivian Welch of Ada, Carol Sue (Don) Brookman of Lima, and Mildred Game of Goldsboro, N.C.; one sister, Virginia Music of Ada; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Grace Conley and one brother, Ivory Harmon. Mr. Harmon was a painter for McCurdy Steel Implements, Ada, and also a self-employed watch maker. During his retirement he worked at the First United Methodist Church of Ada and at the Ada Theatre. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Ada Masonic Lodge #344. He was also a member of the Three C's (Civil Conservative Corp.). Services were held Jan. 16 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Ada with the Rev. George Reed officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. A Masonic memorial service was held by the Ada Masonic Lodge. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

The Rev. John Wesley Daniels, 76, Roundhead, died Jan. 13, 1999 at his residence. He was born March 1, 1922 in Breathitt County, Ky. to Rubeun James and Solann (Rowe) McDaniels. On May 13, 1949, he married Mary Thelma Punches and she survives in Roundhead. Survivors also include seven sons, John (Mary) Daniels and Mark (Teresa) Daniels, both of Roundhead, Joe (Donna ) Daniels of Alger, Jack (Cotta) Daniels of Ada, Jeff (Barb) Daniels and Mike (Dessire) Daniels, both of Kenton, and Kenny Daniels of Bellefontaine; one daughter, Cheryl Daniels of Bellefontaine; two brothers, Emmett (Phyllis) McDaniels of Kenton and Glenn Daniels of Indian Lake; 26 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. The Rev. Daniels retired after 27 years from the Ohio Steel Foundry in Lima, as a truck driver. He was also an evangelist who traveled this area and Kentucky. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Services were held Jan. 18 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger, with the Rev. James Holbrook officiating. Burial was in Roundhead Cemetery. Special graveside military services were conducted by the Roundhead VFW Post 8832. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice Care of Lima.
