Maurice Reynolds

Maurice Loyd Reynolds, 87, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014 in her home in Pecan Plantation in Granbury, Tex. of a long illness. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury, Tex. Memorial will be held at Wounded Warriors or the National Kidney Foundation.

Born July 27, 1927 in Baird, TX, Maurice was the daughter of Frank and Leathy Frazier Loyd.

She graduated from Baird High School and Del Mar College in Corpus Christi and became a registered nurse.

She married Charles F. Reynolds, a soldier from Seminole, Okla., and made friends all over the country as she followed him during his army training, further education and his career as a geologist for Conoco.

They lived in Seminole, Okla., and Midland, Corpus Christi, Houston, and other places.

She loved OU football, art history, beautiful dishes, and travel.

Maurice was preceded in death by her husband in 2009 and their son Charles, Jr. in 1970.

Survivors include daughters, Anne Felix and Catherine Reger and husband, Dennis; grandchildren, Gregory Mueller and wife Kari, and Julie Jara and husband Jim; and great grandchildren, Matthew & Taylor Mueller; and Dominic, Christian, Ethan and Alexander Jara.

Anne Rhoads

Anne Rhoads was called to her Heavenly home on Feb. 21, 2014 at 90 years of age.

She was born Nov. 12, 1923, to Elbert and Jessie (Loudermilk) Rippy, one of the nine children who filled their homestead in Odin, Ill.

She married high school classmate, Francis ‘Dusty’ Rhoads on Nov. 27, 1947.

Their fifty-seven year marriage saw them moving from Illinois to Texas to Tulsa; then to McPherson, Kans., Blackwell, Okla., and back to Tulsa.

Anne’s final years were spent living in Seminole, Okla.

Each place held cherished memories and many friendships for Anne and she loved talking about the people and places she had known.

Anne and Dusty raised their three sons in McPherson, Kans. where Anne became the Cub Scout mom, car-pool mom, and cookie-baking mom for a whole neighborhood of little boys who became like her own.

Anne often said that "those were the best years" of her life.

Anne was the office manager and bookkeeper for Dusty’s oil business, yet always found time for friends and family.

She was famous for big holiday meals and tubs of homemade cookies.

She loved to read, play bridge, watch golf, and cheer for the ‘Pokes.

She tried to never miss an OKC Thunder game on TV; and would ‘suit up’ in Thunder gear to cheer for Kevin, her favorite player.

What Anne enjoyed most, though, were her sons and their families. She loved her boys deeply and treasured them greatly.

A large extended family of many cousins, nieces, and nephews also brought joy and learning about their lives was a delight to her.

She especially cherished her niece, Mary Lou Shiner, and the time they spent together - often calling Mary Lou "the daughter I never had".

Anne was preceded in death by her parents as well as her siblings, Paul, Gene, Quentin, Lucille, Dwight, Mary, Ray, and Nelda. Her husband Dusty died June 28, 2004.

Anne is survived by her three beloved sons and their wives, David (Mary) Rhoads of Edmond; Mark (Marilyn) Rhoads of Seminole; and Jeff (Debra) Rhoads of Broken Arrow.

She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Maxine ‘Teenie’ Rippy (Ray) of Illinois.

Anne leaves numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and a host of others who loved her.

The family would like to express thanks to all who provided care for Anne in her final illness; a heartfelt thank you also to Lewis Walters of Redeemer Lutheran, Anne’s Pastor.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations be made in Anne’s memory to the Building Fund at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 39307 MacArthur St., Shawnee, OK. 74804-2485

Margaret Rich

Margaret Elizabeth "Sally" Rich, 80 year old lifelong Seminole County resident passed from this life on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 at her home in Seminole.

She was born March 8, 1934 in rural Cromwell, Okla to parents, Earl LeClair Simonton and Mary Elizabeth (Edmundson) Simonton.

On Oct. 21, 1957 Margaret married Warren Marion Rich in Seminole. Sadly he preceded her in death on May 18, 1982.

Margaret had worked for Wrangler Jean Manufacturing Company until her retirement in 2000.

Margaret was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Faith Worship Center in Prague.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary French and her husband Joe of Seminole, Earlene Lewis Bozarth and her husband Marc of Salinas, Cal., and Deborah Lynch of Ada.

Three brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin Simonton and his wife Nita of Wellington, Kan., Paul Simonton and his wife Connie of Casper, Wy., and Robert Simonton and his wife Colleen of Ogden, Ut. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and survived by a host of other family and dear friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery.

Serving as casket bearers are; Scotty Gibbs, Jay Howard, Bobby Devereaux, T.J. Lynch, Forrest Green and David "Wayne" Chappell. Honorary bearers are; Lawrence Snowden, Otis Lewallen, Herman Chappell and Buster Pace.

The family wishes to extend a heart felt thank you to Dr. Patel and his staff, also Dr. Wieck, Dr. Hyder, Faith Hospice and their special nurses, Ashlee, Lachrisa, Kristin, Linda, Connie and to Trisha Butner ARNP. The care that you each gave to Margaret is so very appreciated that words can't express our gratitude.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Jerry Riddle

Jerry Lynn Riddle, 53, Norman resident died, Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 in Norman, Okla.

Jerry was born June 27, 1961 in Wewoka, Okla. to Johnnie (Smith) and James Riddle.

Jerry was a former Seminole and Wewoka resident currently living in Norman, Okla. He was formerly employed with the Seminole Public Schools from 1981 to 1992.

Jerry was very instrumental in getting the" Mary Rippey Violent Offenders Act" passed with the State of Oklahoma legislature.

He was a huge Oklahoma University fan and loved to keep up with Seminole Chieftain Football.

He was currently taking care of the swimming pool and the apartment complex where he lived.

Jerry is survived by his mother, Johnnie Riddle of Norman, Okla.; sisters, Sheila Egge and her husband Walter of Wewoka, Okla. and Johnnie Henry and her husband Marvin of Wewoka, Okla.; nephew, Tony Hery of Wewoka; nieces Jerris Egge of Wilburton, Okla. and Chelsea Egge of Wewoka, Okla.; one great nephew, Kaynaan Henry of Holdenville, Okla. and a multitude of close friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Dixie Smith of Wewoka and Glady’s and Luther Riddle of Holdenville, Okla. and his father James " Jimmy " Riddle of Holdenville, Okla.

Private family burial services will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Andrew Rivas

Andrew "Chico" Rivas went to be with his Lord on Oct. 6, 2014 in Bartlesville, Okla., at the age of 74.

He was born on June 9, 1940 to Manuel and Guadalupe Corona Rivas in Oklahoma City.

Andrew attended school in Seminole, Okla. for several years, but graduated in 1958 from Corn, Okla.

From his marriage to Donna Collings were born two children, Randell Kent Rivas and Andrea Dawn Rivas Clark.

After graduation, Andrew entered the Air Force and received an honorable discharge, then worked for several years for Cartie Bivins at his gas station before beginning his career at Phillips Petroleum Co., where he retired from in 1998.

He was also a deacon in the First Baptist Church at Shidler, Okla. for many years.

Andrew married Judy Marshall in Miami, Okla. on December 1, 1998, adding three stepdaughters to his family, Susan Sims, Cary Wyatt and Julie Marshall.

He and Judy made their home in Pawhuska, Okla. Andrew enjoyed spending time at Bluestem Lake fishing and entertaining family and friends at their dock.

Andrew is survived by beloved wife Judy, his children, Randy and companion Amy, Andrea and husband Bub, Susan and husband Terry, Cary and husband Anthony, and Julie.

Other survivors include his grandchildren Josh Clark and wife Aimee, Libby Long, Chelsea Corlett, Laramie Freeman, Codyak Wyatt, Marshall Corwin, and great- grandchildren, Nicholas Clark, Mary Clark, Coleman, Carter and Cash Long, Grace Duke and Colt Duke, as well as his brother Manuel Rivas and wife Norma and many nieces, nephews, family and friends, who will miss him.

Donna Rivas

Donna Marie Rivas went to live with Jesus on Jan. 27, 2014.

She was born Feb. 1, 1941 in Seminole, Okla. to Ruth Marie Tolle Collings and Kenneth Collings. Her father, Kenneth, was killed in World War II.

Donna graduated from Varnum High School in Seminole, in 1958.

She married Andrew Rivas, her high school sweetheart on June 28, 1958 in Corn, Okla.

They moved to Shidler in January of 1961. From this union, two children were born, Randell Kent Rivas and Andrea Dawn Rivas Clark.

Donna and Andrew were divorced in 1997, but she remained living in her Whizbang-Denoya home until the time of her death.

Donna worked at Frontier Savings and Loan and was a Collections Supervisor for 10 years, as well as a House Supervisor for the Opportunity Center for five years.

She loved the Lord and enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking, and going to Sunday school and church.

Donna loved to collect cookbooks and recipes.

She was famous for her "Whizbang Relish" and her Tutti Fruiti homemade ice cream.

She loved to cook Sunday dinners and invite family and friends. There was always plenty of food.

Donna loved to collect angels and snowmen.

She enjoyed going on Kubota rides with Hank and would count the deer and turkey they would see along the way.

Donna was very proud to learn in the past few years that she was a descendent of the Southeastern Cherokees. Her great-great grandmothers were both full-blood Cherokee. She was given the Indian name "Tsu wa", meaning "Red bird".

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Collings; her mother, Ruth Collings Woods; step-father, Dell Woods; grandparents Claude and Goldie Tolle, Tim and Lavena Peters, and Charlie and Leora Woods; and nephew, William Marion Apperson, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Randy Rivas and Amy of Broken Arrow, Okla.; daughter, Andrea Clark and Kenneth of Cushing, Okla.; grandchildren, Joshua Scott Clark and Aimee, Libby Dawn, Erilyn Grace, and Isabella Sage Rivas; and great grandchildren, Nicholas Scott and Mary Lyric Clark, Coleman, Cash, and Carter Long.

Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the pride of her life.

Donna is also survived by her sister, Diane Scroggins and David of Cushing, Okla.; niece, Chera Brewer; nephew, Kevin Apperson; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is survived by her best friend and companion of many years Harrol (Hank) Snow and leaves behind her extended family Judy Jones of Ponca City, Okla. and Leon and Hartence Caldwell of Agra, Okla., Denton and Karen Snow of Shidler, Okla., Lloyd and Teresa Snow of Sand Springs, Okla., Jay Snow of Death Valley, Calif., Carrol and Michael McDougal of Salado, Tex., and Bill Eden of Webb City, Okla..

Donna requested no funeral or service, but asked if there are donations, please make them to the Opportunity Center, 2225 N. Union, Ponca City, OK 74601.
