Elizabeth Thomas

Elizabeth Goat Thomas, 92, died on June 30, 2014.

She was born in Wewoka, Okla. to Lizzie and John Goat on Dec. 23, 1921 and lived in Holdenville, Okla.

She went to school at Sacred Heart boarding school, then attended Holdenville High School where she graduated.

After high school she went to work at McDonald Douglas Aircraft Plant in Tulsa. She also worked as a seamtress for Big Yank Factory.

She married Ramsey L. Thomas in 1946.

Survivors include her husband of the home Ramsey L. Thomas; a sister, Wisey Stevens of Wewoka, Okla.; five children, Katie Wood of Meeker, Okla., Mary Dixon Lawton, Okla., and Gwen Hayden of the home; Ronald Thomas of Stillwater, Okla. and R. L Thomas Jr. of Lawton, Okla.: ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and one brother.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Wewoka Indian Baptist Church with Rev. Houston Tiger and burial at Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dondi Hayden, John Bynum, Richard Meredith, Cody Rapalo, Ryan Hayes, and Tavis Spencer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rex DIxon, R. L. Ramsey Jr., George Tiger, H.D. Wood, Donnie Foye, and Doyle Hayden.

Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Mary Thomas

Mary Wilda Pamplin Starns Laxton Thomas, 89, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, in Weatherford, Tex.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 30, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Weatherford, Tex. Interment followed at Andrews West Cemetery, Andrews, Tex.

She was born March 8, 1925, in Taylor, Tex. to Henry Foy and Laura Lou (Brock) Pamplin.

She was reared in Konawa, Okla. and a graduate of Vamoosa High School, near Konawa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Carl Eugene Laxton and William Arthur Thomas Jr.; a son, Carl Michael Laxton; and daughter, Mary Sue Laxton Woodward; three brothers, Billy, Jim and Jack Pamplin; and sister, Wanda Pamplin Huckleberry.

She is survived by one son, Frank Starns of Weatherford, Tex.; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Arrangements were under the direction of White's Funeral Home in Weatherford, Tex.

Tinya Thomas

Tinya LaDonna Thomas, 53, a life-long resident of Konawa, Okla. died at her home on Thursday, June 12, 2014, after years of battling COPD.

A memorial graveside service at Konawa Cemetery is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bob Thomas, Randy Thomas, Roy Prewitt, Bryan Thomas, Todd Thomas and her grandchildren.

A register book is available for signing at the funeral home. After the ceremony, a reception will follow at the Konawa Community Center (the old Skating Rink).

She was born Aug. 10, 1960 in Ada, Okla. to Jack Thomas and Juanita (Sexton) Thomas.

She married Michael Murray on Jan. 3, 2003 in Ada, Okla.

She worked for years as a Home Health Aide at Central Oklahoma Family Medical Clinic in Konawa.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Murray of the home; one son, Ross Crowl, Jr. of Konawa; three daughters, Jennifer Allison of Sulphur, Okla., Kevyn Hollan of Konawa, and Shay Thomas of Rose, Okla.; two brothers, Bob Thomas of Konawa, and Randy Thomas of Darby, Mont.; one sister, Connie Prewitt of Konawa; and eleven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Juanita Thomas; one sister, Tommie Hord; and one brother, Dennis Thomas.

Wanda Thomas

Wanda Mae Thomas died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at her home at the age of 85.

She was born Dec. 18, 1928 in Yeager, Okla. to Scott and Anna Campbell King.

She graduated Wewoka High School class of 1947.

She married Orville B. Thomas.

Wanda worked and retired after 32 years for the Department of Human Services in Seminole County.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, James Lee King.

She is survived by children Donald and Kathy Thomas of Okemah, and Lisa and Charles Cotterman of Wewoka, O.B. Thomas Jr. of Seabrooke, Tex., and numerous grand and great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday March 7, 2014 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Susan Rice officiating.

Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Terry Thomason

Feb 23, 1950 - Oct 17, 2014

Funeral services for Seminole City Councilman and retired Seminole County Deputy Terry Thomason were held on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Seminole.

Rev. Carl Whitfield officiated the services.

Serving as casket bearers were Jay Branham, Dale Wallace, Terry Morris, Shannon Smith, Ken Green, Kent McGinnis, Stan Young and Tommy Mackey.

Honorary bearers were Mike Knowles, Tommy Bowling, Larry Herdlitchka and Dave Anderson.

Burial followed at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.

Terry died Friday, Oct. 17, 2014 at St.Francis Hospital in Tulsa at the age of 64 from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident in Okmulgee.

Terry Craig Thomason was born Feb. 23, 1950 in Port Arthur, Texas to David Benjamin and Agnes Belle (Irwin) Thomason.

Terry began his law enforcement career in high school working as a dispatcher for Wewoka Police Department.

After graduating from Wewoka High School in 1969, Terry continued working at the police department.

He later moved to Seminole and began working for the Seminole Police Department. Terry retired from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.

He was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Terry was also a member of the Oklahoma National Guard.

He served many years with the guard and retired as a Staff SGT.

Another passion of Terry’s was flying.

Terry loved flying airplanes with his pilot friends.

He logged several hours of flying toward his pilots license through the years.

Terry also was a Disc Jockey for several years and went by the call name "Terrible Terry".

Terry later became active in city government.

He was a longtime active member of the Seminole City Council.

Terry loved riding his motorcycle and always looked forward to rides with his friends, Dale and Donna Wallace.

He is survived by his brother, Michael Thomason and wife Phyllis, of Oklahoma City; nieces, Tracy Davis and Lisa Norwood; nephew, Richard Thomason; great-niece, Taylor Thomason and a host of other family and close friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, David and Agnes Thomason; two sisters, Rebecca Jane Davis and Patty Ann Thomason and one brother, David Thomason.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Wallace Thurman

Wallace Thurman was born Dec.7, 1933 to Sammy and Easter "Cudjo" Thurman.

He died Oct. 2, 2014 at his home in Sasakwa, Okla.

He attended Thomas Chapel grade school.

He worked as a laborer for a little while and then worked for Dolese Brothers for over 30 years until his retirement.

He is survived by one sister, Mary Lee Taylor of Spencer, Okla.; one brother, James Thurman; and a host of family and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents; two sisters, Bessie Warrior, Bertha Warrior; and brother, J.B. Thurman.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Renfro officiating and burial to follow at Thomas Town Cemetery, Sasakwa, Okla.

Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Debra Tiger

Debra Ann (Amos) Tiger, 56, life-long resident of Konawa, Okla. died Thursday, April 3, 2014 near Konawa on Hwy 9A.

A double funeral service is scheduled for Debra Tiger and her grandson, Myron Osborne for 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the P.A.C. - High School Auditorium in Konawa. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Ed Jimboy and Jimsey Harjo will officiate.

Pallbearers are Bruce Cully, Harold Cully, Mark Jimboy, R.D. Coody, Stanley Coody, and Thomas Lindsey.

Honorary pallbearers are Brandy Cully, Cordell Tebe, James Jimboy, and Leo Tiger, Jr.

A Wake service is scheduled for Friday, April 11, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel of Konawa.

She was born July 20, 1957 in Oklahoma City to Sexton Amos and Mary (Cully) Tiger.

After attending college, she worked as a money counter for a local casino.

She is survived by two sons, George Tiger, III of Wewoka, Okla., and Sam Tiger of Seminole, Okla.; and one daughter, Jennifer Tiger of Konawa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sexton Amos and Mary Tiger; her husband, George Tiger, Jr.; one brother, Teddy Dean Amos; and two grandsons, Cem-se Harjo Tiger and Myron Osborne.
