Vida Golden

Graveside services for former Konawa resident Vida Grace Ridling Golden are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2009 at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.

Philip Neeley, her grandson-in-law, will officiate.

Golden died on Monday, June 1, 2009 at her home from a stroke.

She was born on May 29, 1922 in Muskogee to James Shelby Ridling and Olivia Caudle Ridling.

Golden grew up in the Stratford and attended country school at MeGee.

She married Jesse Golden on June 19, 1940, and they owned a farm near Stratford.

The couple had one child, Brenda Joyce, born on Aug. 7, 1941.

Golden was a housewife and mother.

In 1945, the couple moved to Konawa.

Jesse was a self-employed truck driver for 10 years before owning the Ouality Materials rock plant near Sasakwa.

In 1963, the couple moved to Ada and owned the Ada Sales and Rental business.

The couple retired to Crosset, Ark., until Jesse’s death in 1990.

Golden then moved to Denton, Texas in 1991 to be near her daughter and family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lewis Golden, her parents, four Ridling brothers, Raymond, Lloyd, Hershell, and Don; and two sisters, Lola Smith Robinson and Anna Clay Lierle.

Golden is survived by her daughter, Brenda Mosley, Denton, Texas; three grandsons, one granddaughter, 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Mosley, Jabin Neeley, Isaac Wimberley, Jake McEntire, Caleb Wright, and Paul Attaway.

Tina Good

The funeral service for Dr. Tina Denise Good, age 51, will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dan Heath officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Oakwood Cemetery, in Wewoka.

Tina was born to Vaughn and Laura (Dinsmore) Good Sept. 25, 1957, in Wewoka, and passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, in Enid.

She grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1975. She attended the University of Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor’s Degree, and Masters Degree in Psychology, and graduated from O.U. School of Medicine with honors, earning a Doctorate Degree in Medicine.

She interned in Medicine and Pediatrics in Little Rock, Ark. and in internal medicine at Oklahoma University Medical Center. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.

After her graduation from medical school, she practiced medicine in Durant. Tina then was a Hospitalist at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. In 1999, ill health caused Tina to give up her medical practice, and she moved back to Enid. Dr. Good was a member of Oklahoma Medical Association as well as American Medical Association. She was also a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Tina is survived by her parents, Vaughn and Laura Good of Enid; two brothers, Mike Good and Larry Good, both of Enid; two aunts, Glenda Watson, of Enid, and Patty Elliott, of Texoma; three uncles, Tokey Dinsmore, and Pete Dinsmore, both of Enid, and Ronald Good, of Cody, Wyo.; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Full Life Fellowship Church, in Decatur, Texas or a charity of donor’s choice. Condolences may be made online at www.andersonburris.com.

Donald Goodnight

Donald Leroy Goodnight, 49, longtime Seminole resident died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, in Tulsa.

He was born July 6, 1960, in Tulare, Calif., to John Leroy and Alice Irene (Long) Goodnight.

He graduated from Varnum High School in 1978 and served his country in the Oklahoma National Guard from 1977 to 1983 and attained the rank of Specialist 4. He worked as a Pulling Unit Operator for Mills Well Service, of Seminole. He worked for Mills for over 27 years.

He is survived by his father, of Seminole; son, Brandon Goodnight, of Wewoka; daughter Clarissa Goodnight, of Wewoka; and brother, David Goodnight, of Wewoka.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will take place at the Goodnight Family Cemetery.

Services under the direction of Seminole Funeral Home, in Seminole.

Jack Goodrich

Jack V. Goodrich, 79, died Thursday, August 27, 2009, at a nursing center in Abilene, Texas.

Born in Konawa on August 31, 1929, Jack was the son of Freda Rebecca (Pairret) and Frank Goodrich.

He was a U. S. Army veteran, and worked in the oilfields as a driller.

Since 1980, he had been a resident of Abilene, where he was a member of Beltway Park Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jackie Howard Goodrich, in 2002; his parents; two brothers, Larkin Goodrich and Ralph Goodrich; and three sisters, Ada Mae Marvelli, Mary Clark and Wanda Williams.

Jack is survived by his wife, Theda Goodrich of Abilene; son, Bruce Goodrich and wife, Trina, of Covington, Indiana; daughter, Gail Brenneman and husband, Robert, of Rensselaer, Indiana; brothers, Escar "Eck" Goodrich and wife, Gloria, of Konawa and Charlie Goodrich of Tecumseh; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, August 31, at Beltway Park Baptist Church with Pastor David McQueen officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington, Indiana, on Thursday, September 3, following a visitation from 10 a.m. until noon at the Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport, Indiana.

Due to the travel to Covington, Indiana, the family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Beltway Park Baptist Church Building Fund, 4009 Beltway South, Abilene, Texas 79606.

Ralph Goodrich

Ralph F. Goodrich "Ralphie" died July 18, 2009. He was born June 2, 1926, in Konawa. He graduated from Konawa High School in 1944. He attended Eastern Oklahoma University where he also competed in athletics.

He served in World War II and the Korean War. He earned several medals for his service in 3 branches of the military (U S Air Force, Navy, and Army). He retired from The Department of Federal Highways as a Project Engineer designing and building bridges and highways, a career that took him places all throughout the U.S.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank; mother, Freda; sisters, Ada, Mary and Wanda; brother, Larken; and stepson, Roy Roberts.

He is survived by his wife, Lola Goodrich; brothers, Jack of Abilene Texas, Charles, of Tecumseh, and E.E., of Konawa; daughter, Edie; grandchildren; great grandsons; and stepsons, Ron Roberts and Richard Childers.

Graveside services were held at Greenlawn Cemetery on River Boulevard, Bakersfield, Calif. Monday July 27, 2009, at 9 a.m.

Anna Gordon

Anna Frances Gordon, wife of former Lima resident Monroe Gordon, died recently.

She was born Aug. 11, 1954, to J.C. Judy and Mary Frances Judy, in Oklahoma City.

She accepted Christ at an early age. She was educated in the Oklahoma City Public School System and graduated from Douglas High School, in 1972.

She married Monroe Bernard Gordon. She was employed at OU Medical Center for 32 years as a Phlebotomist.

She is survived by her husband; daughter, Shelia Turner-Jordan, of Oklahoma City; two grandsons; and sisters, Joy Wilburn, GeorgeAnne Judy, and Mary Judy, all of Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Shannon Earl Judy.

Gary Gorsuch

Former Seminole resident Gary Gorsuch, age74, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Mission Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 19, 1935.

Lowell Gosa

Lowell Gosa, lifetime Seminole resident passed away, Friday, July 3, 2009, at the age of 83.

Lowell was born, November 18, 1925 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Norman Mathis and Pearl Jane (Thomas) Gosa. He was a resident of Seminole County for 83 years.

Lowell married Dadie (Myers) Gosa, in Byng, Oklahoma on May 1, 1964, she preceded him in death on July 26, 2004.

Lowell was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church, store manager for Continental Emsco Oilfield Supply and circulation manager for the Seminole Producer, in the Wewoka area. He also served in the United States Army in WWII earning the rank of PFC.

Lowell is survived by his son, John and his wife Susan Gosa, of Seminole; two daughters, Jeanne Gosa, of Seminole and Julie and husband Jon Green, of Seminole; sisters, Hazel Hollon, of McAlester and Verla and husband Don Keener, of Okmulgee; and grandchildren, Abigail and Rachel Gosa.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Pearl Gosa; brothers, Ralph and James Gosa; and wife, Dadie (Myers) Gosa.

Funeral services for Lowell will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Daniel Smith will officiate with Scott Lenaburg assisting. Internment will be at Little Cemetery.

Casket bearers are Walter Shepherd, Kim Myers, Kyle Keener, J P Duvall, Mackey Keener and Marty Joplin.

Honorary bearers are Tim Thetford, Brandon Thetford, Bill Duvall, Mike Gosa, Terry Gosa, Tom Easterwood, Kevin Lloyd, Jarrod Lloyd, Danny Keener, Edwin Gosa, Leon Collier, Bill Lloyd and the men of First Missionary Baptist Church.

Rebecca DeWitt

Ada resident Rebecca Lee DeWitt Gould, age 47, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, in Fairview. She was born Sept. 27, 1961, in Tucson, Ariz., to Emory Allen and Serena Annette Neeley DeWitt. She lived in this area most of her life.

She married Thomas E. Gould, Jr. April 28, 2006 in Gainesville, Texas. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Gould, Jr., of Fairview; daughters, Chasity Abbitt, Regan Abbitt, Shanda Abbitt, all of Oklahoma City, and Ashley Norman, of Orion; stepdaughters, Alicia Cosby, and Ashland Whitener, both of Oklahoma City; mother, Serena Bounds, of Ada; step-father, Steven Sweet, of Ada; six grandchildren; sisters, Donna Bates, of Kingston, Betty Grammer, of Watson, Valerie VanWorth, of Ada, Brenda DeWitt, of Seminole, and Pamela DeWitt, of Norman; and brother, Donald DeWitt, of Ada.

She was preceded in death by her father, Emory Allen DeWitt.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, March 19 at Criswell Funeral Home, Rev. Bob Langston will officiate. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Bearers will be Bob Wilson, Danny McWethy, Roger Neeley, Ricky Johnson, Lewis Gould, and Billy Curtis. Honorary bearers will be Brandon McWethy, Justin Fennell, Brice DeWitt and Chris McWethy.

David Graham

Memorial services for David Graham, 63, are to be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at the Lamar Community Building.

He passed away in Lamar on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009.

David Graham was born Nov. 24, 1945 in Richmond, Calif., to Cecil Curley Edward Graham and Dovie Hill Graham.

He was a graduate of Holdenville High School and worked as a carpenter. On Oct. 19, 1975 David married Cheryl Martin and they raised three children together.

He was a veteran of the Viet Nam War serving in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, of the home; children, Eric, Gina, and Heath; two brothers, Bruce and Don; grandchildren, Roman, Lexi, and Madison; his pet dog, Rita, and Vic Roubidoux, his adopted Iowa Tribal Brother.

David passed away surrounded by friends, other relatives and a special Godchild, Amber.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in David’s memory made to The Marrow Foundation, 3001 Broadway Street NE, Suite 100, Minneapolis, M.N. 55412-1753 or the Eagle Sanctuary Grey Snow Eagle House, RR 1, Box 721, Perkins, 74509.
