Ivan Williams

Baby Boy, Ivan Lee Williams died at his home in Wewoka Thursday, March 1st, 2012.

He was born Jan 21, 2012 in Ada, to Tom Williams and Kirstie King.

Ivan is survived by his parents; Tom Williams and Kirstie King of Wewoka, brother, Ian Williams, and sister, Makenna Williams of the home; grandparents, Kenneth and Juanita Williams of Wewoka, Clint and Lisa King of Seminole, and Jennifer Noel of Sallisaw, OK.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Dan Factor Officiating.

Burial will follow at The Harrison/Tiger Family Cemetery south of Wewoka.

Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home

Keetha Williams

Keetha Toure Williams, 29 year-old lifelong Maud resident died Feb 6, 2012 at his home in Maud.

He was born March 13, 1982 in Ada, Oklahoma to parents Phylisha (Douglas) Williams and Johnny Lee Williams.

Survivors include his mother, Phylisha Williams of Maud; two brothers, Brian Williams of Oklahoma City, and Chuddo "Rock" Williams of Maud; as well as a host of other family and friends.

His father, Johnny Lee Williams precedes him in death.

A wake service will be held at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, Feb 8, 2012 at 6:00 p.m.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb 9, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. With Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Hershel Davis officiating the service. Interment will follow at the Williams Family Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Chris Williams, Paul Williams, David Harris, Wayne Phelps, Chevy Cline, Johnny Cline, Brian Spears and Joe Doyle.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Leon Williams

Leon Dale Williams, life long Seminole resident passed away at his home Monday, Jan 30, 2012 at the age 74.

Leon was born in Seminole, on Jan 11, 1938 to parents, Elmer Newell Williams and Erma Mae (Marlow) Williams.

Leon was a heavy equipment operator for Newman Construction for 20 years, he owned and operated Leon’s DX for three years and in 2000 he retired from Wrangler.

Leon was of the Baptist faith and served as deacon at Harvey Road Baptist Church of Seminole.

At retirement, Leon started team roping with his son and grandson as their heeler.

Leon, loved to give his grandchildren rides on the four-wheeler and his favorite time was family gatherings on holidays.

Leon, married Joyce (Harris) Williams on April 21, 1956 in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Leon is survived by his wife, Joyce of the home, one son, Leslie D. Williams and his wife Peggy Williams of Seminole, one daughter, Sheila King and her husband Tim King of Shawnee. Leon is also survived one sister, Laverne Lehman of Seminole, and by son-in-law, Elmer Duncan of Seminole. Surviving grandchildren are, Brad and Tonya Duncan of Tecumseh, Michael and Tiffany Duncan of Seminole, Jason and Amber Duncan of Seminole, Brandon King of Lexington, Brandi and Jarrod Wells of Washington, Oklahoma, Ashley and Jason Fowler of Seminole, Mitchell Williams of Seminole, Stephanie Williams of Seminole, Nicole Coym of Seminole, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Erma Williams, two daughters, Toni Lynn Williams, Pam Duncan, two sisters, Delores Lovelace and Barbara Decker.

Funeral service for Leon will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb 2, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will take place at Little Cemetery, Little, Oklahoma.

Serving at casket bearers are Randy Lehman, Mitchell Williams, Brandon King, Mike Duncan, Brad Duncan and Jason Duncan.

Services under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma.

Margaret Williams

Margaret Florene Williams, 89, longtime Seminole resident, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012.

Florene was born Sept. 6, 1922 in Norman to William A. and Stella (Brown) Hill.

Florene grew up in Norman where she graduated from Norman High School in 1940; she was an honor student and belonged to State Honor Society, National Honor Society, Latin Club and Science Club.

Following two years at Hill’s Business College in Oklahoma City where she completed a three year degree in two years, she worked at various companies in Oklahoma City.

Florene retired from East Central University in Ada after working 15 years in the Administration Office.

On Sept. 6, 1942 (her birthday) she married Robert Lee Williams of Norman. Bob was the husband she always referred to as "close to perfect" and with whom she celebrated 62 anniversaries.

Together Florene and Robert had two children Gerald Williams and his wife Jean of Cromwell and Cathy Nimmo and her husband Stephen of Norman; they have remained loving and devoted children their entire lives. Four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren also survive her.

Florene has been a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole since Aug. 1988. She was also a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.

Private Family Services are planned for Mrs. Williams.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Falls Creek Fund c/o of the First Baptist Church P.O. Box 310, Seminole, Oklahoma. Attention Sherri.

Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Walter Williams

Walter Dunn Williams, age 87 and resident of Konawa died on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Norman Regional Hospital.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Visitation will be Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Walter was born Dec 12, 1924 at Earlsboro to Fred Williams and Ila (Fitzpatrick) Williams.

He graduated in 1942 from Prairie Valley.

Walter was a Navy veteran, serving on the USS Suwannee.

He married Marion "Maxine" Finch in Ada on March 24, 1956.

He was a construction supervisor for Southwestern Bell Telephone.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Williams of the home; two sons, Terry Williams of Dallas, Texas, and Gary Williams of Plano, Texas; two daughters, Janet Robertson of Moore and Susan Lankford of Konawa and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ila Williams; one daughter, Darla Faye Williams, three brothers and two sisters.

Winnie Williams

Winnie Loraine Welch Williams, 99 years old, former longtime Seminole resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 in Duncan.

Winnie was born on Oct. 27, 1913 in Alma, Okla. to Elbert C. and Addie Smart.

Winnie was a homemaker and worked as a waitress.

She attended schools in Wewoka and was a member of the Baptist church.

Winnie enjoyed traveling in an R.V., loved to fish, cooking, and shopping.

Winnie married Odes Williams who preceded her in death.

Her daughter-in-law, Nita Moore of Duncan; her step-daughter, Nita Sue Carrino; a daughter Wanda Holder of San Diego, Calif., survive Winnie.

Six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Odes Williams, son, David E. Moore, daughter, Deanna Griesler, and sister Claudia Nurse.

Funeral services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.

Burial will follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole. Pastor Randy Southerland will officiate at the services.

Funeral Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

William Willson

William "Willie" Ray Willson, 74, was born on May 13, 1937 and died on March 20, 2012.

Willie was the son of W.F. and Ruby Willson of Shawnee.

Willie married Kay Nowlin.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by wife, Kay; three children, Jerry Willson, Jenna Edgar and Cynthia Willson Lampe; two sisters, Ann Osborn of Moore and Darlene Jenkins of Shawnee; six grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Visitation will be on Friday, March, 23, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Services are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Beulah Winrow

Beulah Mae Winrow, longtime Earlsboro resident passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at the age of 106 in Tecumseh.

Beulah Mae was born on May 1, 1905 in Pelim, Texas to parents, Hiram Carruthers, and Julia (Younger) Carruthers.

Beulah Mae lived most of her life in Earlsboro.

She was a member of the A.M.E. Methodist Church of Earlsboro and later joined the Church of Christ Church on Farrell and Bell Streets in Shawnee.

Beulah Mae was a homemaker, farmer, and at the age of 103 she was privileged to vote for the first black president of the United States, Barrack Obama.

Beulah Mae, loved to play dominos and was known as the Domino Queen of Shawnee, which she held the championship position for six years.

She was a sharpshooter with a rifle and was also active at the Shawnee Senior Citizens for many years.

Beulah lived alone until the age of 103. Due to failing health, she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law, Lorene and Hiram Ryan in Tecumseh until her death.

In Celebration of her 100th birthday Beulah Mae Winrow was presented with a citation from Gov. Brad Henry, Governor of The State of Oklahoma, as well as proclamation from the City of Shawnee declaring May 1st as "Beulah Winrow Day."

Beulah Mae married Jackson William Winrow who passed away in 1945.

To this union there was born nine children, Roy Winrow of Earlsboro, Eunice Winrow Edmond of Oklahoma City, Erma Jean Biglow of Kansas City, Kansas, Lorene Ryan and her husband Hiram of Tecumseh, Kathleen Winrow Hicks of Oklahoma City; a grandson who she raised like a son Donnie Winrow Hicks of Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was also survived by five generations of grandchildren.

Four children preceded Beulah Mae in death, Opal Winrow Booker, Thurman Winrow, Booker Winrow and Barbara Jean Winrow.

Beulah Mae was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings, as well as many family members and dear friends.

Funeral service for Beulah Mae will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Immanuel Baptist Church of Shawnee, located 1451 E. 45th Street. Officiating will be Dr. Dewayne Winrow, Reverend Anthony Rhone, Reverend Ted Curtis and Reverend Kelly Booker. Burial will be at Earlsboro Cemetery, Earlsboro.

Dinner will be served following the funeral at Galilee Baptist Church located at 1025 E. 9th Street, Shawnee.

Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole are in charge of arrangements.
