Albert Foran

Albert Edward Foran, age 88, died May 20, 2010 at Holdenville General Hospital.

Albert was born at Summers Chapel, OK., on August 27, 1921 to Floyd and Flossie (Blakemore) Foran. He attended school at Friendship in Seminole County.

Albert served in the army during WWII. He lived and worked in California most of his adult life, retiring from Local 12 of the Operating Engineers.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife of 54 years Johnie Pallock Foran in 2008, one daughter Barbara Dyer, four brothers, Joseph Foran, Floyd Foran, Denver Foran, and Jack Foran.

Surviving Albert are two sons; James Foran of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Melvin Seers of Salford, England, six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters; Ruby Nail of Maud, Oklahoma; and Dorothy Paxton of Parachute, Colorado; one brothers; Pete Foran of Sasawka, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside rites will be held at Vamoosa Cemetery at a later date.

Albert Foran

Albert Edward Foran was born August 27th 1921 at Sacred Heart, Ok. To Floyd and Flossie (Blakemore) Foran. Albert died on May 20th, 2010, at the age of 88 years 8 month 22 days at Holdenville General Hospital.

Albert attended school at Friendship in Seminole Co. and Sacred Heart in Pottawatomie Co.

Albert served in the Army during World War II. He was stationed in England as a Mechanic. He told of working on "Jimmy Stuarts" airplane. He lived and worked nearly all his adult life in California. Retiring from local 12 operating Engineers.

Preceding Albert in death were his parents, his wife of 54 years Johnie Pollock Foran in 2008. One daughter Barbara Dyer, five brothers, Joseph (Buddy) Foran, Floyd Eugene (son) Foran, Denver Lee (kid) Foran, Jack Foran and Baby Foran and one sister Geraldine Foran.

Albert is survived by two sons. James Foran of Tulsa. Melvin Seers of Salford, England. Six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters; Ruby Nail of Maud, Dorthy Paxton of Harrah, One brother Pete of Sasakwa, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday June 5th at 1 p.m. at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Jamie Franks

Former Seminole resident Jamie Jo Franks died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2010, at Southwest Medical Center, in Oklahoma City.

She was born July 9, 1981, to Michael Franks and Shelly Hall.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Donovan Lowman, of the home, in Oklahoma City; parents; sons, Michael Knight, Jr., and Jeremiah Canaday, both of Oklahoma City; daughter, Hayden Lowman, of Oklahoma City; brothers, Michael Haney and Nicholas Martinez, both of Oklahoma City; sisters, Michelle Franks, of Dallas, Texas, Amber Franks and Mary Haney, both of Oklahoma City, and Katrina Haney, of Ardmore.

Wake services are scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 2. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Wednesday March 3; both services will be at the Concho Community Center, in Concho. Burial will be at the Concho Cemetery. Revs. Jay Mule and Mike Harjo will officiate the service.

Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home, in El Reno.

Colleen Frederick

Colleen Frederick was born January 4, 1927 in Sulphur the oldest of eight children born to Jesse and Claudia (Goodnight) Gentry.

She was married June 23, 1944 in Sulphur to James W. Frederick.

They lived in Oklahoma City until 1957 then returned to Sulphur where they owned and operated James Café’ and Archie’s Café’.

After they sold the business, Colleen worked several years at Head Start in Sulphur.

November 1, 2003 she became a resident of Artesian Nursing Home in Sulphur.

On July 1, 2004 she moved to Seminole Care and Rehab Center where she resided at the time of her death. She was a member of Vinita Avenue Church of Christ in Sulphur.

Her husband of 60 years, James Frederick; her parents Jesse and Claudia Gentry; three brothers, Bill Gentry, Oscar Gentry and S.N. Gentry; and one sister, Carolyn Wright, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Sue Frederick of Seminole; one grandson and his wife, Darren and Donna Frederick of Seminole; one granddaughter, Emily Barstow of Edmond; four great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Gracie Barstow of Edmond, Colin and Chloe Frederick of Seminole; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Louise Gentry of Sulphur; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Leona Gilmore of Oroville, California, and Donna and Jim Rade of Porter, Texas; one sister-in-law, Dot Gentry of Oroville, California; and several nieces, nephews and other family and dear friends.

Her extended family included her friends at Seminole Care and Rehab, especially her tablemates Virginia and Roy Smith, and Janice Stackhouse.

She especially enjoyed the Sunday School Class taught by members of the First Baptist Church of Seminole.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Seminole Care and Rehab and Artesian Nursing Home in Sulpur, for their watchful care.

The family has designated, "The Bridge Building Fund, " at First Baptist Church, 420 Reid Street in Seminole, Oklahoma 74868 as appropriate for memorial donations in memory of Colleen.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, July 26, 2010 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.

Russell Vicars will officiate the service.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Jimmy Frederickson

Jimmy Allen Frederickson passed away on May 24, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 62.

He was born on July 2, 1947 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Harold Dalton and Margie Louise (Boone) Frederickson. He married Nancy Sharon (Green) Frederickson on July 26, 1966 in Seminole, Oklahoma.

He retired from Eaton Corporation in 2005 where he was a cell technician and worked part time as a door greeter at Wal-Mart. He was a member of the Earlsboro First Baptist Church. His favorite hobbies include horseback riding and working with livestock.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Nancy Sharon Frederickson of the home, two daughters, Tina Shirey and husband Richard and Linda Frederickson of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, two brothers, Walter Frederickson of Norman, Oklahoma, Danny Bramlet of Winnewood, Oklahoma, sister Brenda of Corpus Christi, Texas, and two sister-in-laws: Charlene Kennady and Wanda Morris of Seminole, Oklahoma.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Diamond Frederickson, Preston Shirey, Gracie Shirey, Sierra Frederickson and Shayla Frederickson.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Frederickson, mother, Margie Frederickson, brother, David Frederickson, and granddaughter Shyla Frederickson.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1p.m., Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Streetman officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be: Richard Shirey, Mike Morris, Cory Thompson, Preston Shirey, Larry Bruce and Jason Shirey. Honorary Bearers will be: Jerry Holland and Walter Frederickson.

William Froelich III

Seminole resident William E. Froelich III, age 56, passed away at 5:25 p.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Integris Baptist Hospital, in Oklahoma City, where he had be a patient since Feb. 18, 2010.

Bill was formally of Bloomington and El Paso, Ill. He was born on June 25, 1953, to Nancy Hoose and William E Froelich Jr., in Bloomington, Ill.,

Bill Married Elizabeth Dalton, in December of 1974, and Elizabeth Smith, in 1991.

Bill was a graduate of Gridley High School and Southern Illinois University where he received is degree in Mortuary Science. Prior to moving to Oklahoma he was a partner in the Froelich Memorial Homes, in Central Illinois. Bill Currently has been employed by Enviro Systems, Inc. of Seminole, as Director of Facilities.

Bill is survived by his sons, William and Nicholas, of Sarasota Fla., and Churchill and John, of Seminole; parents, of Lake Bloomington rural Hudson, Ill.; sister, Susan (Paul) Laiming, of Gridley Ill., brothers, Craig (Barb), of Seminole and David (Kathy), of Minonk, Ill.; and seven nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his son, Patrick.

Local funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, March 6, at the Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole, with the Rev. Aropika Daniels.

Services in Illinois will be 3 p.m., on Monday, March 8, at the First United Church, in Gridley, with the Rev. Andy Huette. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., preceding the service. Burial will follow in the Gridley Cemetery.

Debora Fry

Debora Sue Fry, age 47 and a former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, died at her residence at Newalla, Oklahoma on June 6, 2010.

A memorial service will follow at a later date under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Debora was born on October 27, 1962, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Ronald G. Fry and Rita (Baker) Fry. She was a graduate of Shawnee High School, and fished. Debora was a security officer for the Department of Corrections.

She is survived by her father and step-mother, Ronald G. and Helen C. Fry of Wynnewood, one brother, Donald Fry of Konawa; and one step-sister, Susan Mapes of Wynnewood.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Rita (Baker) Fry.

James Furr

Seminole resident James Levi Furr, age 83, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Mercy Health Center, in Oklahoma City. He was born May 5, 1926, in Muskogee, to Walter Furr and Etta Mae Furr.

He served in the United States Air force and worked as a special equipment operator for Del Monte Foods from 1963 until his retirement in 1983.

He married Naomi Theresa Louise (MacSchooler) in Reno, Nevada in 1963. He was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church and also served as a reserve police officer, in Live Oak, Calif. He moved to Seminole in February of 2007 from Live Oak.

He is survived by his sons, James D. Furr, of Ft. Gibson, Michael Clark, of Nevada, Richard L. Furr, of Sutter, Calif., Mark Lester Clark, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Rodney L. Furr, of Seminole; daughters, Doris Mae Davis, of Live Oak, Calif., and Wanda Hope Race, of Seminole; sisters, Juanita Jean Wooton, of Visalia, Calif., Mary Lee Marsh, of Seminole, Oklahoma, Peggy LaNadine Sorrell of Seminole, and Patricia "Patty" Darlene Campbell, of Seminole; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, David Clark; and sister, Betty Flo Stone.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2010, at Little Cemetery located just North of Seminole on Hwy. 99 with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole.

Eleanor Gallemore

On June 10, 2010, Verna Eleanor (Law) Gallemore passed from this life that she had lived so very abundantly. She was born to E.D. Sr. and Clara Mae Law on January 18, 1916 near Geary, Oklahoma and grew up there, graduating from Geary High School.

She was blessed with eight older siblings, four brothers and four sisters, all of whom preceded her in death. They were, Bernard Bernard Law, E.D. Law, Jr., Clifford Law, and Vance Law, Juanita Scott, Alma Bray, Etha Scott, and Myda Zobisch.

Verna married to the love of her life, Frank Gallemore, on January 9, 1938, and they made their home in Seminole OK. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1980.

Verna served her Lord and was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church. She was one of three people who reorganized the Fellowship Class. She also sang in the choir and worked in the Kindergarten Department. She belonged to the United Methodist Women, and served on the funeral committee. Verna found great joy in visiting residents of nursing homes and those in hospitals. She loved baking bread, then delivering it to those she knew would enjoy it.

Verna was also a member of the Seminole Federated Music Club, she served one year as their president. She sang with the "Selectones", a musical group organized in 1967 and disbanded in 1973.

She found joy in her work as a Licensed Practical Nurse, working for the late A.B. Stephens, M.D., for about 10 years. After his death in 1949, she worked for the late L.E. Pace, D.D.S., and the late Jack Randolph, D.D.S. She retired at the age of 80 1/2 years, having worked in the same office for a total of 47 years.

Affectionately called "Auntie Verna" by her nieces and nephews, she became an integral part of all their lives. All of them knew she would never forget a birthday, or a special event in their lives, by sending them a card. This practice of hers has carried on to the great nieces and nephews, the great-greats, and the great-great-greats, along with many of her dear friends.

After Verna's father died, she and Frank moved her mother to their home and cared for her until her death.

Many of Verna’s family preceded her in death, but many members are celebrating her life, including seven nieces: Claramae Highfill, Marvine Armstrong, Doris Cline, Carolyn Baker, Vicki Cundiff, Marion Barrett, and Dixie Odell, and five nephews: Neil Scott, Sam Scott, E.D. Law, III, VeDon Law, and Mike Law. One sister-in-law, Wanda Law, along with great nieces and nephews, the great-greats, and the great-great-great nieces and nephews also survive her. Six nieces and nephews from Frank’s family also survive her. Then there are the extended families she and Frank loved. Thelma Randolph and family, David and Cheryl Dowell and family, Steve and Kim Norman and family and numerous other friends that held a special place in her heart.

All of these descendants and friends of Verna feel truly blessed to have been a part of her life, knowing that she prayed for them as they went through life. She lived her life to the fullest, knowing always that God was first and foremost in her life and that serving Him was her joy. Her life has reflected on many and she delighted in having been a part of the lives of so many wonderful friends and relatives.

The family wishes to extend special gratitude and love to her wonderful care-givers who worked tirelessly, giving Verna the best care in the world. Thank you, Pat Chastain, Shirley Grauman, and Sue Hill.

Funeral service are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church, Rev. Gary O. Wilburn will officiate. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Seminole OK. Services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole OK.

Casket bearers will be Vance Petticrew, Dennis Scott, E.D. Law, III, Russell Scott, Steve Norman, and Bob Webster.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Seminole United Methodist Church in memory of Verna Gallemore.

Funeral Information: June 15, 2010, 10:00 A.M.
