Florentine H. Hall

Florentine H. `Flo` Hall, of Bethany, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord on January 19, 2004 at the age of 85. She was born October 15, 1918 in Litchfield, Illinois. Her birth parents were Dewey & Edna Coss and her adoptive parents were Joseph T. `Joe` & Elmira Herrington, all preceded her in death. Also, a little sister Deweta Coss died at the age of three years old. Both families lived in St. Joseph, Missouri. Flo dearly loved the family she grew up with, both her parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. She had a couple of cousins Raymond and Jim Martin who were like brothers to her. She also had a special place in her heart for cousin Vincent Bib.

Flo is survived by her husband Leonard Hall, of the home, and two sons Billy D. & wife Ruth, Leawood, Kanasa and Larry J. & wife Linda, Clovis, Nwe Mexico. She was blessed by having six grandchildren & five great grandchildren, which she was very proud of. Flo loved her family with all her heart and she had a place in her heart for each of them. She will be missed greatly be all.

Flo`s school years were spent in St. Joseph, Missouri. She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1937. She immediately entered nurses training in Missouri. A few months later she transferred to Weeden Hospital in Duncan, Oklahoma. Purpose for moving to Duncan was so she could live close by a cousin Frances Martin she thought so much of. While there in Duncan, she met Leonard and after a short romance they married in 1938 and had a long successful and happy marriage of 65 years. Flo became a Christian at an early age, and was a long time Methodist. She was active many years in the church teaching Sunday school and other activities. She loved the Lord and the church very much. She spent her life as a homemaker, raising her children and meeting the needs of the family and lots of activities such as school scouting as den mother. She was in the middle of all the various activities the children were in. Flo loved people and was especially drawn to older people. She would make phone calls to shut-ins to cheer them up, and many times would take food and other things they would be needing at the time. We feel sure that the Lord in heaven welcomed her home & gave her a new life with eternal peace, love and happiness, just as he promised, if we believed in him, loved him & carried out his commandments. Flo will be missed by all, but the love and memories of her will be in our hearts forever.
