Addie Marie Miller

Addie Marie Miller, 91, died August 27, 2007. She was born January 23, 1916 in Cashion, Oklahoma to John and Frona (Yowell) Lunnon. A member of Putnam City Baptist Church for 56 years, she was a shining example to her family in every area of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years, Clarence Miller, Jr.; great-grandson Zachery Betts; 4 brothers; and 1 sister.

She is survived by her daughter LaVonna Nelson; sons Doyle and wife Joyce, Duwane and wife Carolyn; sister Delma Ellis; sister-in-law RosaLee Lunnon; 1 granddaughter LaGenna; 7 grandsons Herbert, Tom, Greg, Phillipe, Ernie, Robert, Todd; 18 great-grandchildren Joshua, Jenny, Magen, Elizabeth, Lyndsey, Victoria, Catherine, Blake, Taylor, Bailey, Aaron, Katie, Amy, Brad, Robin, Anna, Zachery, Shelbie; 3 great-great grandchildren Autumn, Jacie, Averae (and 2 or 3 more on the way); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive visitors at Mercer-Adams on Thursday, August 30th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Services will be Friday, August 31, 1:00 p.m. at Putnam City Baptist Church with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Beatrice Michelle McGill

Beatrice Michelle (Horvath) McGill (KAT) died suddenly around 3:40 a.m., August 28, 2007, the victim of a gun-shooting at Memorial Park, Oklahoma City. She was the loving daughter of Shirley A. Stanford and Thomas E. Clifford (deceased) of East Freedom, Pennsylvania. She was the fiancée of Benjamin Rosenwirth of Oklahoma City. Surviving are her five children: Anthony Thomas and Shirley-Lynne Saavedra, Michael R. Yokel, Christopher P. Stanford, and Jeremy Rosenwirth. Also surviving are her sister and husband Angela K. (Clifford) Potter and Douglas W. Potter and their 3 children of Pennsylvania; aunt Eileen E. Tracey and family, Maderia, Florida; and grandfather Emmett D. Stanford of Caycee, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by Irene M. Stanford and Bettie McCulloch, grandmother`s both from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and niece Martika M.J. Stanford of Pennsylvania. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2007 with services at 2:00 p.m. the same day at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK, 495-4363.

Marjorie Jeanetta Dill

Marjorie J. Dill, 88, of Bethany, died on August 26, 2007 in Bethany, Oklahoma. Marjorie was born on February 7, 1919, in Caldwell, Kansas to Frances and James Whitesell. She married A.F. Dill on June 1, 1941. The Dill family moved to the Bethany area in 1955. Marjorie received her BS from BNC in 1957. She then completed her MA in 1961 from Central State College. Marjorie taught school for 22 years. She retired from Putnam City in 1981. Marjorie has served God throughout her life and last attended Calvary Bible Fellowship. Marjorie enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting and cooking. She lived her life as a shining example of a Christian life. Even in the midst of suffering, Marjorie`s testimony shone brightly. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters. She is survived by husband A.F. Dill of the home; one daughter, Rebecca Davis and husband Steve Davis of Bethany; one son, Mark Dill and wife Angie Dill of Shawnee. She has seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother. Services will be held at Mercer-Adams Chapel on Wednesday, August 29, 10:00 a.m. with interment in Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Dean Richard Bader

Dean Bader, 75, died August 28, 2007. He was born October 18, 1931 in Fremont, Nebraska to Rono and Inez-Seely Bader. He was a gifted athlete on the varsity in every sport each year at Fremont High School where he graduated in 1949. After suffering a career-ending football injury in college, Dean enlisted in the Air Force and served as a radar airport control operator. He married his high school sweetheart, Geraldine Hand, and she followed him in the service until his discharge in 1954. They resided in Colorado for 46 years where he owned his barber shop business. They moved to Yukon, Oklahoma in 2003. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gerry; sons Ed Bader and his wife Dee; Ted Bader MD and his wife Marilyn; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 6 brothers and sisters. He showed his love for God by the prominent display of his Bible at his place of work. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and devotion to his family. Services will be Saturday, September 1, 10:00 a.m. at Mercer Adams Chapel, Bethany. Donations may be made to Catalysts (science student scholarships at Southern Nazarene University), Bethany, OK 73008.

Jerre Lee Billings

Jerre Lee Billings, 68, went to be with our Lord Sunday, August 26, 2007. She was born January 8, 1939 in Sabinal, Texas to Mack and Marguerite (Young) Hale. She married Donald Billings March 3, 1966 and together they raised 2 daughters, Kerri and Kelli. Jerre retired from AT&T; and was a member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her husband, Donald; daughters Kerri Crow and husband Craig and their children Aaron Bradley and Ashley Dawn; Kelli Bowie and husband Rod and their children Zachary Scott, Courtney Dawn, and Whitney Grace; sister, Jo Ann Ripper; and brother, Mack Hale. The family will receive visitors Tuesday, August 28, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Wednesday, August 29, 2:00 p.m. at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene with interment in Bethany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SNU Scholarship Fund at Southern Nazarene University.

Mary Kathleen Macrory

Mary Kathleen `Kat` Macrory passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Sunday September 2, 2007. She was born March 21, 1917 to Brack and Della McLain in Jasper, Alabama and with her family moved to Bethany in the early 1920`s to be near the holiness college now known as Southern Nazarene University. She was the last remaining of ten children. She graduated from Bethany Public Schools and attended Bethany Peniel College. She married Paul David Macrory on July 10, 1938. Dr. Paul was a prominent physician in the Bethany area for over 40 years and she served faithfully by his side in all his endeavors. She was very active in Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, many civic organizations and clubs. She was a prolific artist and her paintings grace many homes. She was preceded in death by husband, Paul, February 1, 2003; and son, Dean, on September 4, 2006. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Sid Riley of Bethany; daughter-in-law Frances Macrory of Guthrie; grandchildren Rhonda (Chris) Nowlin of Yukon, Rod (Susan) Riley of Brentwood, Tennessee, Cary (Jeannine) Macrory of Guthrie, Carol (Jonathan) Allen of Edmond, Caren (Richard) Schafer of Sachse, Texas; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Mildred McLain, Juanita Macrory, Lois McLain; and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 5, 5:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Dr. Paul D. and Kathleen Macrory Medical Scholarship Fund, Southern Nazarene University.

Leonard Marvin Hall

Leonard Marvin Hall, 79, went to be with his Lord, on September 1, 2007. He was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on July 9, 1928 to Charley and Mary Hall. He married Martha Lee Rose in 1949. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1951. He started his engineering career at BS&B; in 1952. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1954 - 1956. He was president of Southwest Manufacturing Company, Barrett Trailer Company, and Vice President of Latoka Engineering Company and retired in 1994. Survivors include his wife Martha of 58 years, two sons: Russell and his wife Susan, Midland, Texas; Terry and his wife Susan, Oklahoma City; grandchildren Chris and wife Meaghan, also Jennifer, Cory, and Christy. Memorials may be made to Bethany First Church of the Nazarene or Southern Nazarene University. Services will be at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4th, 2007 with burial in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.

Vernon Lee Winford

Vernon Lee Winford, 84, died May 3, 2007. Born September 11, 1922 in Lindsay, Oklahoma, to Ausby and Cammie Winford. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell; and daughter, Carolyn Parker. He served in WWII in the Army Air Corps based in England. He flew several combat missions as a radio operator on a B-24. He retired from the dry cleaning business. He is survived by a grandson, Donald Lee Parker; granddaughter, Nicole Parker; and several nieces and nephews. A private family gathering will be held.

Alex Tom Record

Alex Tom Record, age 60, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was found Friday, June 8, 2007. He was the son of the late Atwell Record and the late Iola (Grissin) Record. He is also survived by his wife Phuong (Le) Record; Arrangements are being handled by Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be at Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at 2:00 PM Friday, June 22, 2007 , Father McSherry officiating.

Velma Josephine Maxey

Velma Maxey, 85, a wonderful Christian and loving wife, mother and grandmother, died May 4, 2007. She was born December 31, 1921 in Walters, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. Maxey; her parents, Jesse and Effie Burchel; and her brother, L. J. Burchel. Survivors include sons, Richard and wife Kathy of Bethany, Larry and wife Phyllis of Oklahoma City; brother, Doy Burchel; and sister in law, Edna Clingman. Also, six grandchildren: Charles, Sharon, Kent, Kami, Lori, and Morgan; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family and friends. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Mustang Church of the Nazarene with interment in Mustang Cemetery.

Joe Elbert Kelly

Joe E. Kelly, 68, went home to be with the Lord, June 4, 2007. He was born March 3, 1939 at St. Anthony in Oklahoma City to L.P. and Mary Kelly. He graduated from Piedmont High School in 1957. He married his loving wife, Nancy, 37 years ago in 1970. He was a masonry for over 30 wonderful years. Joe was a member of Northview Community Church. He touched so many lives in so many ways. Anyone who knew him loved him dearly. He loved spending as much time as possible with his family and friends. He really enjoyed camping, cook-outs, keeping a beautiful lawn and going to church. He loved to joke with people and make them laugh. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Carl; son Kenneth; and daughter Lucille. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy; his daughter Eva and husband Steve of Newcastle; his son Norman and wife Jannie, Poplar Bluff, MO; his daughter-in-law April of Kingfisher; 8 grandchildren (the loves of his life) Madison (Papa`s medicine), Bonita, Trisha (Papa`s Goofy) Echo, Robby, Mikey, Chris and Brayden; his 1st great-grandson Vernon; his brother Olin and wife Jean of Tahlequah; his sister Linda and husband Rufus `Mouse` of Eugene, Oregon; his especially close sister Karen and husband Darvin of Piedmont; Aunt Betty Joe Gill of Belleville, Wisconsin; along with several brother and sister-in-laws, loving nieces and nephews, and many, many other family and friends. We all loved him dearly and will miss him so very much. Services will be Friday, June 8, 2:00 p.m. at Northview Community Church, 8921 NW Expressway, with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Kenneth D. Painter

Kenneth D. Painter, 74, passed away May 26, 2007. He was born January 18, 1933 in Roanoke, Virginia to Bernard S. and Mattie Mildred (Calhoon) Painter. He worked in aircraft maintenance. Services will be held in Forest Park Cemetery, Greenville, Texas.

Leonard Raymond Diehl

Leonard Raymond Diehl, M.D., passed to his heavenly home June 9th, 2007. He was born January 3rd, 1925 in Liberal, Kansas. After serving in the United States Army during World War II in the European theater, he attended medical school at the University of Kansas. He served many years as a medical officer and surgeon in the 95th Division of the Army Reserve in Oklahoma City. As a family physician, he cared for and helped countless lives in a medical career spanning over 40 years during which time he served in many capacities such as Chief of Staff of Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, president of the Oklahoma Academy of Family Practice, and president of the Oklahoma State Medical Association. Following retirement from medicine, he pursued an avid interest for American western history as a docent for the Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Museum. His life epitomized the image of a `Christian gentleman.` He enjoyed teaching Sunday school classes and was challenged by his hobby of tracing family genealogy. He was preceded in death by parents, Leslie and Hettie Gray Diehl, and wife Colleen Diehl. He is survived by two sisters, Frances Lazaroff, sister Gearolyn Thompson and husband Ed, sons Mark Diehl and wife Judy, Steve Diehl, Greg Diehl, grandchildren Carrie Helm and husband Jimmy, Jenny Avra and husband Matt, Matthew Diehl, Emily Coursey, Chelsea Diehl, and a host of family. Services will be Wednesday, June 13, 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Servant, Chapel of the Cross, 14343 N. MacArthur Blvd., with interment in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Margaret Mae Butler

Margaret Mae (Moore) Butler, age 81, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Residence in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma . She was the daughter of the late Leonard Moore and the late Lydia (Sisson) Moore. She is also survived by her Daughter, Teresa (Butler) Brecheen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Two grandchildren Two great-grandchildren Arrangements are being handled by Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be at Mercer-Adams Chapel at 2:00 PM Monday, June 18, 2007 , Randy Gordon officiating. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

James Ruben Gunter

James Gunter, 67, died May 5, 2007. He was born January 22, 1940 in Nashville, Tennessee to James and Wanda (Soles) Gunter, who preceded him in death. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, James worked as a revenue agent for the IRS for 27 years. He is survived by his son, James Stephen Gunter, Orlando, FL; daughter, Dana Lynn Jackson, Warr Acres; brother, Charles Gunter, Piedmont; sisters, Barbara Mitchell, Tushka, OK, and Kathleen Brown, TX; and 1 granddaughter, McKenzie. Services will be Thursday, May 10, 2:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel.

Addie Ruth Smith

Addie Ruth Smith, 69, passed away June 6, 2007. She was born March 19, 1938 in Custer City, Oklahoma to Johnny and Ruth (Porter) Driscoll and step-father George Stephens, who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Hobart High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Blair. She worked as Food Service Manager for the Putnam City Schools where she was a member of the Sunshine Club.

She is survived by her husband, Esker; son, Craig Smith and wife Debbie; daughter, Carri Fry and husband Monte; sisters, Jeannie Roberts and Debbie Westbrook and their families; 4 grandchildren, Heather and Heath Smith, and Vaughn and Tyler Fry.

Family visitation will be Friday, June 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Saturday, June 9, 10:00 a.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment at 2:30 p.m. in Blair Cemetery, Blair, Oklahoma.

Linus Russell Barrett

Linus Russell Barrett, infant boy, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma . He was the son of Martin Barrett and Amy (Lentz) Barrett. Arrangements are being handled by Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be at Mercer-Adams Chapel at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 23, 2007, Randy Gordon officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Leland Edward Powers

Leland Edward Powers, 51, passed away in his home on June 23, 2007, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born March 14, 1956 in Oklahoma City, OK. He married Lisa Bell in 1991, and they resided in OKC. Leland graduated from Putnam City High School in 1974. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and he trusted in Jesus Christ as his Savior. Leland was a loving, caring person, always ready to help someone in need. He was a devoted husband and son, and a loving brother. The love of his life was his wife, Lisa. He was so proud of her. Leland also had a love for the outdoors, which he developed into a lawn and landscape business. Many neighborhoods benefited from his skills! Leland loved to spend time at his and Lisa`s lake cabin, which was his ongoing `project.` He was a member of the Gold Prospectors Assoc. of America. Leland will be greatly missed by both friends and family, but he will never be forgotten. Leland was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.D. and Noma Powers, and Edward H. and Cittie Manning, as well as his step-daughter, Erica Wood. He is survived by his beloved wife Lisa; his parents, Jack and June Powers of OKC; and his sister, Juli Bloomer and her husband, Lynn, and their children, Kyle Bloomer and Sha Buchanan of OKC. Services will be Wednesday, June 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Bethany Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Free to Live, PO Box 5884, Edmond, OK 73083.
