Clarence Lee Mullens
Clarence Lee Mullens was born on Thursday, February 26, 1953 in Durant, Oklahoma to Jurel and Ruby Yancey Mullens and passed away on Friday, October 12, 2012 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 59.
Clarence graduated from Caddo High School and later worked for the Golden Peanut Company and he enjoyed cars and Rock N Roll music.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Christopher Allan Timmons.
James Hodge
James Hodge, age 69 passed from this life on Friday, October 12, 2012 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
A forty-two year resident of Idabel, he was born in Denison, Texas, December 24, 1942, and grew up on a farm in nearby Colbert, Oklahoma.
He graduated from Colbert High in 1961 and attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Later, he returned to farming and took over the operation of the Gulf Oil Company service station in Colbert.
Betty Louise Lawrence
Betty Louise Lawrence was born on Sunday, February 8, 1931 in Buzzard Roost, Oklahoma to Samuel Andrew and Gevena Miller Keeler and passed from this life on Sunday, October 14, 2012 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 81.
Betty received her nursing degree from Grayson County College and worked as a RN for many years until her retirement.
She married Billy Joe Lawrence in May 1999 and they resided in Mead, Oklahoma until her death.
J.R. “Pops” Taylor
J.R. “Pops” Taylor a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away at his home on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the age of 70 years 7 months and 17 days.
He was born to Sherman Presley and Annie (Davenport) Taylor in Lookeba, Oklahoma on Saturday, February 28, 1942.
Pops was a man who loved to go fishing and camping.
He could often be found outside working on his vehicles, his love of racing sent him to the track every Saturday.
Services will be Oct. 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Bible Baptist Church.
Family Hour will be held Oct. 17, 2012 from 6-7 p.m.
Arrangements are being handled by Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant.
Billy Joe Hutchinson
Billy Joe Hutchinson was born on October 18, 1954 in Durant, Oklahoma to Wilson and Corrine Roach Hutchinson and passed from this life on Tuesday, October 17, 2012 at the age of 57 in Durant, Oklahoma.
Billy Joe married Linda Kay Hutchinson on August 15, 1974.
They were married 38 years.
He lived his whole life in Durant and he graduated from Durant Schools.
Troy Vernon Pitts
Troy Vernon Pitts,80, of Bennington, OK, passed away October 13, 2012 in Calera, OK.
Troy Vernon Pitts was born on April 8, 1932 in Boswell, OK, the son of Obray Pitts and Hesty (Stinson) Pitts.
Troy married Ruellene Campbell on February 19, 1966 in Alhambra, CA at the First Southern Baptist Church.
Troy is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clifford N. Pitts and sisters, Lavada Hensen and Lorean Kelso.
Jerry D. Fite
Jerry D. Fite, 69, of Achille, OK, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at his home after complications from back surgery in June.
He was born July 31, 1943 in Yantis, TX, the son of J.W. “Pete” Fite and Ida Bell (Patridge) Fite.
Jerry married the love of his life, Kay McCleary on February 11, 1975 in Durant, OK.
He enjoyed his wife taking him for drives and going shopping where he could ride on the scooters.
William G. Dodd
Services will be held for William G. Dodd, 88, of Durant, Ok., passed away on Oct. 16, 2012 in Durant, on Oct. 22, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Highland Cemetery.
A family and friends fellowship will be held at the church following the grave site service.
Arrangements are being handled by Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant.
Rosemary and Bobby Davis
Rosemary and Bobby Davis residents of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away within days of each other.
Rosemary passed away on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the age of 64 years.
Bobby passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the age of 74.
Rosemary was born in Caney, Oklahoma on Wednesday, July 21, 1948 to James Acie and Carrie (Hayes) Frederick.
Bobby was born in Tennessee to Virgal and Hildred (Jones) Davis.
Services for Rosemary will be held on Oct. 12, 2012 at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Chapel.
Bro. Allen Jults will be officiating.
Burial will be at Old Philadelphia Cemetery in Blue, Ok.
Services are pending for Bobby Davis.
Jerry E. Coxsey
Jerry E. Coxsey, a resident of Mead, Oklahoma passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the age of 73 years 3 months and 19 days.
He was born in Durant, Oklahoma on June 22, 1939 to Arliss Earnest and Ernestine E. (Trout) Coxey.
Jerry married Sally Rhea in Durant, Oklahoma on Thursday, February 14, 1980.
Jerry lived most of his life in Southeastern Oklahoma.
He was a retired Antiques Auctioneer.
Services are pending.
