Lifted up in the name of our Heavenly Father and surrounded by her children and grandchildren, on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, our sister, Elizabeth L. Jones returned home to our Creator. Elizabeth was born Nov. 14, 1934 in Seminole County to Siah Brown and Lucy Tiger (Clark). She married Harry Jones, Jr. and together they raised seven children in the House of the Lord. She lived most of her life in Oklahoma, until 1984, when she moved her home to California. In 1995, she joined her family in Idaho. While in Idaho, Elizabeth enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. You would often find her attending their various activities or babysitting, from the youngest to the oldest. When they visited grandma's house, they always left with a full stomach and a full heart. She always looked forward to the visits from her children and grandchildren who lived out of state, whether by phone, mail, or in person. Grandma was truly overjoyed to have their companionship. Grandma would carry these trips in her heart and revisit them with those around her until the next visit. On the holidays and often after church, she would gather the family around and mesmerize them with stories of her childhood and serenade them with hymns in her native tongue. The spirit of her humor and compassion is the legacy that will stay with us forever. Through her courage, strength and love, she offered her family the support they needed to succeed in all their endeavors. Her Christianity and faith sustained not only her, but her family as well. She is survived by her children, Hayden Jones of North Carolina, Norma Thomas of Nevada, Lillian Robedeaux of Oklahoma, Joyce Renz, Gloria Jones, and Johanna Jones, all of Idaho; and her loving companion, Dallas Rose, of the home.
