Ella Cheatham

Graveside services for former Seminole resident Ella Cheatham, 91, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Cemetery.

Rev. Carl Clay will officiate at the services. Burial is under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah.

Cheatham died Sunday, March 28, 1999 in Springdale, Ark.

She was born Aug. 27, 1907 in Marshall, Ark., to Isaac Fuller.

She was the owner and operator of Cheatham Trucking Company, and was involved in the oilfield and housemoving business in Seminole.

A longtime resident of Seminole, she was a member of the Seminole Trinity Baptist Church until she moved to Springdale eight years ago.

Survivors include two sons, Burl Cheatham, Choctaw, And Bill Cheatham, Springdale; two brothers, Eugene Fuller and Junior Fuller, both of Okemah; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Lillie Cherry

Graveside services for Wewoka resident Lillie Mae Cherry, 69, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Westwood Cemetery.

Overseer Donnie L. McKnight will officiate at the service. Interment is under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.

Cherry died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999.

She was born Aug. 6, 1929 in Mangum to Leo and Tommie (Griffin) Young.

Cherry attended school in Mangum, and moved to Wewoka 37 years ago. She was a member of the Church of the Living God in Mangum.

She was married to John Cherry in 1947; he preceded her in death.

Also preceding Cherry in death were two sisters, Georgie Copeland and Birdie Lee Davis; and one brother, Ernest Young.

Survivors include two daughters, Janis Jackson, and Loretta Cherry, both of Dallas; two sisters, Katherine Miller, Oklahoma City, and Estina Smith, Elk City; and one brother, Oscar Young, Tucumcari, N.M.

Juanita Clark

Funeral services for Seminole County native Juanita Clark, 64, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Hitchite church.

Rev. Mike Harjo and Ted Underwood will officiate at the services.

Interment will follow at the Larney family cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.

Wake services were held at 6 p.m. Saturday at Stout Chapel, and viewing will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday.

Clark died Thursday, June 3, 1999 at Hillcrest Specialty Hospital in Tulsa.

She was born April 30, 1935 in Seminole County to Amos and Salina (Micco) Clark.

Reared in Seminole, she attended Eufaula Boarding School, Chilacco School and Strother Schools.

After moving to Tulsa, Clark remained a resident until the time of her death.

She was employed with Will Rogers Dry Cleaning for 16 years, retiring in 1996 due to illness.

Clark was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Norman Micco and two sisters, Sallie Larney and Serena Larney.

Survivors include one son, Clifford Clark, Tulsa; one sister, Katie Clark Harjo, Henryetta; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers are listed as David Horton, Ricky Deer, Russell Larney, William Larney, Billy Adkisson, and Reggie Barcindabar.

Honorary bearers include Michael Clark, Mitchael Clark, David Clark, and Ernest Daniels.

Bill Click

Graveside services for Konawa resident Bill G. Click, 55, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary Cemetery.

Father Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B., will officiate at the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel, Shawnee.

Click died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999 in an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born April 23, 1944 in Virginia Beach, Va., to Dennis and Louise Click.

Raised in Prague and Oklahoma City, Click attended college at University of Oklahoma as well as Central State University in Edmond.

A veteran, he served in the US Navy during the Vietnam conflict and lived in Oklahoma City and Konawa most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Stacy Click, Oklahoma City and Lisa Click, Tecumseh; six brothers, Dennis Click, Tecumseh, John Click, Oklahoma City, Mike Click, Konawa, David Click, Piedmont, Steve Click, McAlester and James Click, Frisco, Texas; one sister, Helen Choate, Ardmore; and one grandchild.

Daisy Coker

Lifelong Seminole resident, Daisy Margaret Coker, 76, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999 at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa.

She was cremated and the family will announce a memorial service at a later date.

Coker was born in Oklahoma City on Sept. 3, 1925.

She married William Clarence Coker in 1943 in Oklahoma City; he preceded her in death in 1984.

Coker is also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include one son, Rocky Coker, Seminole, and one daughter, Helen Davies, Phoenix, Ariz.

Ivan Coker

Funeral services for Maud resident Ivan "Booger" Coker, 48, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Tim Martin will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at the Coker family cemetery.

Coker died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999 at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada.

He was born April 10, 1951 in Claremore to Wallace Cowan and Matilda Maxine (Coker) Cowan.

Coker attended Maud schools, then worked in the oilfields until he was disabled.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, who adopted him, Lucinda Coker, in February, 1983.

Survivors include his parents; one daughter, Lori Brewer, Maud; one brother, Wally Cowan, Maud; one sister, WaDean Cowan, Konawa; and one grandson.

Pallbearers are listed as Terry Harjo, David Bussey, Wendall Darnell, Mike Tallbear, Wally Cowan and Frank Williams.

Honorary bearers include Charley Vieux, Frank Rhodd, Albert Curley and Charley Williams.

John Coker

Funeral services for Konawa resident John Benjamin Coker, 73, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Pickard Chapel.

Rev. Exie Fish will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Evening services are slated for 6 p.m. this evening at Pickard Chapel.

Coker died Tuesday, June 29, 1999 at Oklahoma City.

He was born Aug. 8, 1925 in Konawa to Mamie and Rev. Daniel Coker.

A lifelong Konawa resident, he served in the US Army during World War II, and was a member of the High Springs Baptist Church.

Coker retired as a civil service worker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Irene Armstrong, and one brother, Lewis J. Coker.

Survivors include three nephews, Bill Armstrong, Frank Armstrong and Danny Armstrong, all of Konawa; and five nieces, Betty Jean Burgess, of the home, Katie Harmon, Ada, Netty Mooreland and Edna Odell, both of Asher, and Karen Sue Coker, Geary.

Pallbearers at the chapel are listed as Donny Smith, Dorsey Nero, Clay Horton, Leo Burgess, Frank Burgess, and Kenneth Coker.

At the cemetery, Coker will have military pallbearers.

Honorary bearers include Bill Houston, George Coker, Bill Ellie, Joe Cully and Lucky Spooner.

Melvin Colbert

Graveside services for former longtime Seminole resident Melvin D. Colbert, 79, were held this morning at Rossville Cemetery in Rossville.

Chris Stinnett will officiate at the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Colbert died Monday, June 27, 1999 at Pioneer Nursing Home, Okemah.

He was born March 27, 1920 in Rossville to Charly William and Hattie Belle (Davis) Colbert.

He retired from Tinker Air Force Base after 25 years of service int eh payroll department, and was a member of the Church of Christ in Seminole.

Colbert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Survivors include one sister, Orpha Stout, El Dorado, Kan.
