Raymond Pierce

KONAWA - Funeral services for Raymond Clifford Pierce, 57, were held Monday at Pickard Funeral Home.

Richard Winters officiated. A graveside services was also scheduled for Tuesday at Elmhurst Cemetery, Guymon.

Pierce, a Konawa resident, died Friday at Ada.

He was born Nov. 11, 1941, in Guymon to Audra and James Clifford Pierce.

He had worked as a police officer and a long distance truck driver.

Survivors include his mother, of Konawa; four daughters, Carla King, Vernon, Texas, Teresa Bolan and Kimberly Pierce, both of Konawa, and Audra McWalain of Georgia; four sons, James Losen Pierce, Liberal, Kans., Roy Don Pierce, Oklahoma City, Bradley Jason Pierce, Blanchard, and Ronnie Ray Pierce, Konawa; one sister, Marilyn Simpson, Sweeny, Texas; one brother, Russell Pierce, Konawa; and 12 grandchildren.

Ruberta Pitts

Funeral services for Ruberta E. Pitts, 89, mother of Wewoka resident Phyllis Williamson, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Indian Hills Church of the Nazarene in Wichita, Kan.

Interment will follow at Friends Cemetery in Rose Hill, Kan., under the direction of DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Funeral Home.

Pitts died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999 at her home in Alva.

She was employed as a cook with Maud Carpenters Children’s Home until her retirement.

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Stands, Alva, and Phyllis Williamson, Wewoka; three sisters, Marilyn Hitt, Enid, Joyce McCormick Madill, and Pauline Hinshaw, Boulder, Colo.; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family has suggested expressions of sympathy be made to Gideon’s International of Wichita, or the charity of donor’s choice.

T.J. Plummer

Funeral services for former Seminole resident T.J. Plummer, 85, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

Rev. Danny Reihing will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites provided by Seminole Masonic Lodge #476.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at Swearingen Funeral Home.

Plummer died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999 at Calera Manor Skilled Nursing Center.

He was born Oct. 26, 1914 in Fort Smith, Ark. to Lucien Earl Plummer and Bernice (Barling) Plummer Cheatham.

He moved to Seminole inn 1954 from Dallas.

Plummer owned and operated Power Transmission and Equipment Company, with offices in Seminole, Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

He also owned Seminole Farm Store.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Seminole, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.

Plummer served as the Worshipful Master of the Seminole Masonic Lodge, and also held the office of State District Deputy.

He married Beatrice Haskew on June 23, 1934 in Tulsa. She survives him after 65 years of the home.

Plummer was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Ben Cheatham, and one sister, Dorothy Cline.

Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Bob Prokop, Seminole, and Mary Jane and Richard Rainey, Bedford, Texas; five grandchildren, John Delaporte Jr., Quinlan, Texas, Diane Delaporte Wagner, Plano, Texas, Nicole Delaporte Barton, Nevada, Texas, Monica Hunsinger Phillips and Janie Hunsinger Pencek, both of Hurst, Texas; and six great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers are listed as Robert Prokop, Richard Rainey, John Delaporte, Bill Barton, Scott Phillips and Ronie Pencek.

Honorary bearers include the Deacons and Elders of the First Christian Church.

Delbert Pockrus

HELENA, MONT. — Funeral services for Maud native Delbert R. "Del" Pockrus, 77, are scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Neighborhood Assembly of God Church.

Pastor Tom Banks will officiate at the service.

Cremation and a private family interment has already taken place, under the direction of Hagler-Anderson Mortuary.

Pockrus died Tuesday, April 27, 1999 after complication due to surgery.

He was born Jan. 9, 1922 in Maud.

A veteran, Pockrus served in World War II as a bomber pilot.

He worked for General Motors and retired in 1978. He moved to Montana, where he lived for the past 10 years in Swan Valley.

In 1990, Pockrus married Ann Ford in Helena. She survives him of the home.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann; two sons, Bill Pockrus, Dallas, Texas, and John Pockrus, Reading, Pa.; one stepson, J. D. St. Clair, Helena; and four grandchildren.

The family has suggested that expressions of sympathy may be made In One Accord Ministry, c/o Pastor Tom Banks, 609 Harris, Helena, Mont., 59601.

Leroy Posey

Funeral services for longtime Wewoka resident Leroy Posey, 97, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Stout Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Meredith Robinson will officiate at the services.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Posey died June 25, 1999 at Seminole Estates Nursing Home.

He was born July 30, 1901 in Konawa to Elize and Evaline (Poe) Posey.

He had owned grocery stores most of his life, and also worked at the Seminole County Courthouse in Wewoka.

He was a member of the First Nazarene Church of Wewoka.

Posey married Madge Jones Posey on May 21, 1927 in Wewoka. She preceded him in death on April 25, 1978.

Also preceding him in death were his parents, seven brothers, five sisters and one infant son, Judd Leroy Posey.

Survivors are one son, Don Posey, Branson, Mo.; one daughter, Patsy McGehee, Seminole; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.

George Posey

Mass of Christian Burial for Seminole native George W. Posey, 60, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sand Springs.

Father Kenneth Fulton will officiate at the service. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service.

Posey died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999 in Tulsa.

He was born Jan. 5, 1939 in Seminole to Paul and Elizabeth (Jackson) Posey.

A veteran, he served in the United States Marine Corps in Korea.

Posey was a CPA and the Chief Financial Officer at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid.

His most recent employment was with the Citizen Pottawatomi Clinic in Shawnee.

He married Fayelee Pickett Finney on June 8, 1979 in Tulsa. She survives him of the home.

Posey was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Posey; and one stepson, Brett Finney.

Other survivors include one daughter, Sheryl Lynn Kovalczyk, Utah; three sons, George Gregory Posey, California, Timothy Posey, Wisconsin, and Christopher Posey, Tulsa; one stepson, Jeff Finney, Georgia; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

James ‘Jim’ Post

Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident James "Jim" Ray Post, 76, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Post died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999 at Holdenville General Hospital.

He was born Feb. 23, 1923 in Macomb, Ill. to James Ray and Hazel (Simpson) Post.

Post lived in Arkansas until 1929, when he moved to Seminole County. He had lived here for over 70 years.

A veteran, he served in the US Navy as a Seaman First Class.

Post retired as the Seminole Fire Chief in 1962, and also worked in oil field construction and as a cattleman and horseman.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Oklahoma Retired Firefighters Association, and the American Quarter Horse Association.

Post married Mildred Nichols on April 9, 1941 in Shawnee. She survives him of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Rex Post.

Other survivors are three sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Phyllis Post, Hinton, Davis and Sharon Post, Seminole, and Nick Post, Oklahoma City; three brothers, Bob Post, Oklahoma City, Bill Post, Pauls Valley, and Harrell Post, Miami; two sisters, Charlene Parrish, Springfield, Mo., and Margaret Post, Oklahoma City.

Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Jimmy Ray Post, McPherson, Kan., Stacy Post Suldovsky, Seminole, Jerry Colombo, McAlester, John Colombo, San Francisco, Calif., and Karen Moore, North Carolina; and one great-grandson, Chance Suldovsky, Seminole.

Casket bearers will be the Seminole Fire Department, Roy Boydstun, Fred Ellison and Archie Moore.

Honorary bearers include Phillip Parks, L.E. Snowden, Joe French, Ronnie Conner, Ray Johnson, and Buster Deere.
