Garland Bundy

Funeral services for Seminole resident Garland Austin Bundy are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home.

Rev. Ray Belford is set to officiate.

Burial is to follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Bundy died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003 at the Veteran’s Center in Sulphur.

He was born April 2, 1922 in Stratford to Edgar and Inez (Moit) Bundy.

He married Louise (Vaden) Bundy on June 4, 1942 in Yuma, Ariz.

Bundy owned Bundy Seatcovers in Seminole for 53 years.

He was a veteran of the Army/Air Force and was stationed in Korisca during World War II.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Seminole, where he served as a deacon.

Bundy was a member of the Bass Club and a former member of a bowling league in Seminole.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Janan Kautz of Seminole and Susan Hanna of Allen, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Boyd Burgess

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Boyd Burgess are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Wells officiating.

Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Burgess died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at the age of 95 at Wewoka Nursing Home.

He was born Aug. 15, 1908, in Red Mound Township to L.P. "Pole" Burgess and Hettie (Rowe) Burgess.

He married Hazel Fern (Aughinbaugh) on Aug. 2, 1952.

He worked for an oil company in California for ten years and retired as a farmer after 45 years.

He attended the Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elvin and Robert W. Burgess; sister Gwendoline Beavers; son Robert J. Burgess; daughter, Kay Louise Burgess and grandsons, Donald Ritz II, Zachary Mullings and Danny Goforth.

He is survived by Hazel Burgess of the home, one son, Terry Schwartz of Tulsa, five daughters, Janet Ritz and Sandra Burgess of Tulsa, Nan Goforth of Seminole, Mary Rumsey of Yukon and Jane Mullings of Maud; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The family requests that donations be made to Hospice.

Charlie Burton

Memorial services for Charlie Burton, brother of a Seminole County resident, are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.

Services will be under the direction of the Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

He died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2003, at the age of 40 in Oklahoma City.

He was born Feb. 23, 1963, in Tarrant County, Texas to Charles Burton and Carol Maxine (Speire) Burton.

He was a Shawnee resident prior to moving to Oklahoma City 15 years ago.

He was the maintenance director of Embassy Suites in Oklahoma City and a truck driver for several years.

He is survived by one sister, Cindy Watson of Maud and one brother, John Henry Burton of Korea.

Faye Burton

Graveside services for longtime Seminole resident, Faye Burton are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

She died Sept. 24, 2003, at the age of 95 in Seminole Estates Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 12, 1908, in Hiawatha, Kan. to Loren Smith and Rachel (Kring) Smith.

She grew up in Cushing but moved to Seminole 70 years ago.

She was 16 years old when she went to work for C.R. Anthony. She was one of their first employees and worked as their bookkeeper.

She was married to John Burton.

She was a member of the First Christian Church and before her vision failed, she enjoyed fishing, reading, sports and playing duplicate bridge.

She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five sisters, Lennie, Rachel, Mae, Nancy Alice, and Velda; four brothers, Harry, Jack, Jim, and Boss.

She is survived by one son, John King Burton of Seminole; two daughters, Jane Mears and husband, Gene of Buffalo, Texas and Nancy Hancock of Okmulgee; granddaughter, beth Stafford and husband, Tim of Okmulgee; seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

James Frances Cain

Funeral services for former longtime Seminole resident James Frances Cain are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Father Basil Keenan, O.S.B., is set to officiate.

Burial is to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Cain died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003 in Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 64.

He was born Aug. 12, 1938 in Oklahoma City to John H. and Alice (Lessing) Cain.

He retired from the United States Navy in 1974 and from the reserves in 1985.

Cain was Petty Officer First Class and served from 1955 to 1985.

He was a member of the Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jerome Paul and John Henry III.

Cain is survived by his daughter, Holly Cain of Truckee, Calif.; and one sister, Joe Shore of Tulsa.

Gladys Calvert

Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident, Gladys Calvert will be Friday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m.. at Gleaners Holiness Church in Wewoka.

Internment will be at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Larry Chesser officiating under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.

Calvert passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at the age of 81 at Seminole Medical Center.

She was born on February 10, 1922, to Floyd and Zora Smith Johnson.

She attended school at Limestone and Greenleaf Schools.

She married Alfred David Calvert on May 23, 1943, in Wewoka. She was a member of the Gleaners Holiness Church in Wewoka where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years.

Calvert was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred David Calvert; her parents, Floyd and Zora Johnson; two children, Phyllis Vance and Tommy Calvert; one grandson, Larry Calvert; two brothers, Jay Johnson and Ed Johnson; and two sisters Betty Milsap and Wanda Bishop.

She is survived by her children, Shirley Threet, Marsha Sawyer, Lloyd Scroggins, David Calvert, and Jimmy Calvert all of Wewoka; two brothers, Johnny Johnson of Guymon, and Guy Johnson of Yukon; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Sawyer, Johnny Harris, Michael Pierce, Larry Scroggins, Jimbo Calvert and Gary Calvert.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Calvert, Rick Harris, Brandon Johnson, Terry Calvert, Alfred Dean Calvert and Brian Calvert Sisco.

Bonita Camp

Funeral services for Bonita Jane Camp, mother of Wewoka resident Pojoe Camp, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, southwest of Wewoka.

Rev. Houston Tiger will officiate.

Interment will follow at the Camp Family Cemetery, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.

All-night wake services will begin tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church.

Camp died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003 at Carl Albert Indian Hospital in Ada at the age of 41.

She was born to Leo Little and Dona Mae (Humble) Little on March 20, 1961 in Holdenville.

Camp was reared in the Bearden community and graduated from Bearden School.

She married Barney Camp, Jr., in January 1981.

Camp worked as a certified nurse’s aide at Heritage Village Nursing Home in Holdenville until she retired due to illness in 2002.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney, on Nov. 28, 2001.

Camp is survived by her children, Steven Camp and Kenneth Camp, both of Stillwell, Darin Camp, Holdenville, Pojoe Camp, Wewoka, Vicki Camp, Cadillac Warren, Mich., Michelle Robison, Holdenville, and Teresa Camp, Wewoka; her siblings, Jim Humble and Sue Yahola, both of Okemah, Bob Little, Sundown, Texas, Sam Little, Bearden, Jackie Little, Eufaula, and Ann Osborn, Pragule, Ark.; and 10 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Camp’s nephews.
