Frank Welliver

Funeral services for Seminole resident, Frank Melton Welliver are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 with Rev. Larry Goins officiating.

Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Welliver died Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at the age of 93 at his home in Seminole.

He was born July 5, 1910, in Camden, Ark. to George Melton Welliver and Ellen Francis (Godbehere.

He married Mary Edna (Barrett) Welliver.

He was retired and was of the Methodist faith.

Welliver moved to Seminole In June 2003, and had lived in Medford from 1972 until June 2003.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Edna Welliver in 1985; three sons, Ernie Harold Welliver, James Welliver and Richard Thomas Welliver; and two daughters, Francis Northcott and Rosetta Bryant.

He is survived by three sons, Amos Welliver and wife, Yvonne of Bowlegs, Frankie Welliver and wife, Vonda of Knifly, Ky. and Bethal Welliver and wife, Margaret of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Joy Anderson and husband, Glenn of Seminole, Sara Rusher and husband Billy of Oklahoma City and Gerry Fuksa and husband Perry of Enid; two sisters, Susie Chlon of Chickasha and Mildred Carrigan of Stonewall; 35 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be his grandsons.

Lloyd ‘Curly’ Wells

Graveside funeral services for Seminole resident Lloyd "Curly" Wells are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rock Creek Cemetery in Okemah.

Rev. Harold Turner is set to officiate.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Wells died Sunday, January 19, 2003 at Pioneer Nursing Home at the age of 84.

He was born April 7, 1918 in Guthrie to Walter and Mary Elizabeth (Moore) Wells.

He married Ruby Moore Wells. She preceded him in death on Oct. 3, 2001.

Wells was a retired welder for Oklahoma Natural Gas.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; one brother; and one grandson.

He is survived by one son, Lloyd Bryan Wells of Hinton; two daughters, Marilyn Mosley of Konawa and Judy Sparks of Delaware, Ark.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Maxine Wells of Port Orchid, Wash.

Casket bearers are Stephen Harris, Terry Mosley, Lester Howes, Raymond Leader, Eddie Leader, and James Leader.

Honorary bearers are Bill Campbell and Billy Graham.

Mary Wells

Graveside funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Mary Josephine Wells are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Jennings Cemetery.

David Jones is set to officiate.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Wells died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003 at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 89.

She was born May 14, 1913 in Sawyer, Kan. to Joseph R. and Maude (Elam) Wolfe.

She married Herman N. Wells on July 9, 1928 in Sawyer, Kan. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2002.

Wells was a homemaker.

She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a charter member of Order of Eastern Star.

She helped start the Seminole Hospital Auxiliary on Feb. 29, 1964. She later served as president.

Wells was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by one niece, Alice McKaig of Dallas, Texas.

Aaron Dean White

Funeral services for former Seminole County resident, Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Aaron Dean White are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday at the Chapel of Walker Funeral Service located at 201 E. 45th Street in Shawnee.

He died in a helicopter crash in Al Hillan, Iraq on May 19, 2003, at the age of 27.

He was born on February 29, 1976, in Holdenville to Darrell and Karen White.

He attended Sasakwa High School his freshman and sophomore years and attended Shawnee High School his junior and senior years, graduating in 1994.

He was married to Michele Nicole Linn on April 10, 1998 in Shawnee.

He served nine years in the U.S. Marines.

He was a Staff Sergeant and a CH-46 helicopter Sea Knight Crew Chief.

Survivors include his wife Michelle (Linn) White; daughter Brianna Nicole White; parents, Darrell and Karen White; sister, Sgt. Patricia LaBar; Grandmother, Reba Hale and a host of in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rev. Wesley Martin will officiate the services.

Interment is in Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Walker Funeral Services of Shawnee.

A memorial fund for the family has been set up at the Bison Federal Credit Union in Shawnee.

Mary Whitson

Funeral services for Seminole resident Mary Nell Whitson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Dr. Kelvin Moseley will officiate.

Burial will follow at Little Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Whitson died Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at Kindred Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 78.

She was born to Thomas Newton Bottoms and Mattie (Coddard) Bottoms on Jan. 17, 1925 in Waldron, Ark.

Whitson was a longtime Seminole resident, moving from Prague in 1952.

She married Chris C. Whitson on Aug. 15, 1953 in Durant.

Whitson was a homemaker, and a member of the First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Toni Whitson; one step-son, Chuck Whitson; three brothers; and one sister.

Whitson is survived by her husband, Chris C. Whitson, of the home; one son, Phil Mizera, Claremore; one daughter, Brenda Payne, Seminole; one step-son, Bob Whitson, Montgomery, Texas; one step-daughter, Vickie Russell, Green Valley, Ariz.; four brothers, Otis Bottoms, Hoarce Bottoms, and Bob Bottoms, all of Waldron, Ark., and Malcolm Bottoms, Bakersfield, Calif.; one sister, Charlene Simmons, Waldron, Ark.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

Honorary casket bearers will be the Doers Sunday School Class.

Betty Wilcox

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Betty Lou (McMahan) Wilcox are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Morrison officiating.

Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery north of Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Wilcox died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at the age of 66 at Seminole Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 3, 1937, in Seminole to Roy "Punch" McMahan and Bertha (Walley) McMahan.

She married Ray Wilcox on Aug. 13, 1955, in Poteau.

She retired from Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant children, Vena Kay and David Wayne Wilcox; one brother, Roy "Buck" McMahan; and two sisters, Jo Evelyn Williams and Wilma Jean Massengale.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Wilcox of the home; one son, Mike Wilcox of Seminole; one daughter, Tammy Walker of Little, one brother, Jim Ray McMahan of Gladewater, Texas; one sister, Nancy Hall of Rolla, Kan. and two grandchildren.

Bennie Wildcat

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Bennie Wildcat are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Bird Creek Indian Baptist Church in Sasakwa.

Wildcat died May 8, 2003, at the age of 76 at Seminole Medical Center.

He was born September 10, 1926 in Sasakwa to Joe Wildcat and Bertie (Castle) Wildcat and married Norma Wildcat.

He retired from Sun Oil Company where he worked on the pipeline construction crew.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Wildcat, of the home, three sons, Jay Wildcat, Wilburn Wildcat and Casey Wildcat all of Seminole; four daughters, Mable Marshall of Seminole, Phyllis Befellah and Sandra Akkasiriskul, both of Illinois and Judy Culberson of Wewoka; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Wake service will be Saturday at 6 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

He will be moved to Bird Creek Indian Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.

Casket bearers will be John Tanyan, Wesley Tanyan, Tommy Culberson, Gordon Culberson, Bruce Akkasiriskul and Casey Wildcat.

Pastor Jeff Factor will be officiating the services.

He will be buried in the Wildcat Family Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Mary Wilkerson

Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Mary Orlena Wilkerson were held Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at the Freewill Baptist Church.

Revs. David McDougal and Allen Wood officiated.

Burial followed at Ada Memorial park in Ada, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Wilkerson died at the race Living Center in Bethany at the age of 92.

She was born to George Milton Blackburn and Mary Tennessee Dorsey on July 26, 1910 in Stratford.

Wilkerson married Babe Frances Wilkerson on Aug. 4, 1934 in Stratford.

She was a homemaker and sold Avon for 30 years.

Wilkerson was a charter member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Seminole.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Babe, in 1969; one daughter, Lavonna Wilkerson in 1941; four brothers; and one sister.

Wilkerson is survived by two sons, Robert Wilkerson, Bethany, and Gale Wilkerson of Indiana; one daughter, Linda Coplin, Midwest City; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers were Bobby Wilkerson, Luke Wilkerson, Nick Wilkerson, Steve Russell, Chris Dunn, and Randy Wilkerson.

Honorary bearers were Jon Wilkerson and Mark Wilkerson.
