Anna Randle James

Funeral services for Anna Randle James, sister of Wewoka resident Marie Thomas, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the Greater Mountain Pilgram Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.

Rev. F.E. Burroughs, Jr. will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Wetumka Cemetery in Wetumka, under the direction of Myers Mortuary of Wewoka.

James died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 67.

She was born to Nathan "Jabo" Randle, Sr. and Nora Mae (Culver) Randle on Sept. 3, 1936 in Slick.

James lived in Wetumka most of her earlier life.

She graduated from Wetumka High School in 1956, then moved to Oklahoma City where she married A.J. James.

James accepted the Lord’s promise and was a member of the Greater Mountain Pilgrim Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Howard Eugene Douglass.

James is survived by her husband, A.J. James, of the home; one son, Ray Anthony Douglass, Oklahoma City; one daughter, Felecia Diane Osborne, Oklahoma City; two brothers, Jackie and James Randle, both of Tulsa; three sisters, Minnie Lee Combs, Tulsa, Marie Thomas, Wewoka and Lenora Hurd, Oklahoma City; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Melvin ‘Dinoflo’ James

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Melvin "Dinoflo" James are set for Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Wewoka.

Services will be under the direction of Myers Mortuary of Wewoka, with Rev. E.G. Bert, of St. Stephens Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Thomas Town Cemetery in Sasakwa.

James died Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Wewoka Nursing Center.

He was born March 31, 1929 in Wewoka, to Jesse and Ethel (Reed) James, who both preceded him in death.

He attended schools in Wewoka, then, after graduation, he attended Langston University for two years, where he studied auto mechanics.

James worked as an auto mechanic for many years, and also worked for Brooks Oil Company of Wewoka for 35 years.

He joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Ernest Parker.

James is survived by his wife, Linda James, Wewoka; sons, Wendell James and Thomas James, of Oklahoma City, Jeffrey James and Stephen James, of Norman, Ray James and John James, of Shawnee, and Dell James of Wewoka; daughters, Gayla Watts, Shawnee, Tammy Osborne, Tecumseh, and Virginia James, Oklahoma City; sisters, Maude Ponder, Oklahoma City, Ardella Nave, Johnnie Fae Gray, Las Vegas, Nev., Eleanor Jean Owens, Mildred Whisenton, Joyce Frazier, Long Beach, Calif., and Georgetta Powell, Carson, Calif.

He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Anthony ‘Tony’ Jim

Funeral services for Wewoka resident, Anthony "Tony" Lee Jim, 29, were held Monday at Many Springs Baptist Church, in Holdenville, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Interment was in the Factor family cemetery, near Limestone with Rev. Malcom Tiger and Rev. Tom Bear officiating.

Wake services was held Saturday at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel, and. Sunday at Many Springs Baptist Church.

Jim died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Presbyterian Hospital, in Oklahoma City.

He was born June 28, 1975, to Lee and Yvonne (Factor) Jim, in Claremore.

He graduated from Wewoka High School in 1993, attended Okmulgee Tech for one year, and graduated from Platt College in 2001.

He is survived by one son, Donald Lee Jim, Seminole; his parents, Lee and Yvonne Jim, Wewoka; one sister, Elizabeth Sue Jim, Wewoka; and one brother, Earl Ray Jim, Wewoka; his grandmother, Susan Jim, Atoka.

Pallbearers will be John McCosar, Greg Poafpybitty, Daniel Lang, Randy Jim, Herman Sleeper, Jr., Toby Walker, Jeremy Jim, and Leon Bruner, Jr.

Honorary bearers will be Tommy Chupco, Justin Miller, Michael Bruner, Jack Siegrist, Jr., and the Red Bone Softball Team.

Helen Johnson

Funeral services for former Seminole County resident, Helen A. Johnson, of Edmond, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22 at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with Rev. Charley Henthorn officiating.

Interment will follow in the Konawa City Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Johnson died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at the age of 88 at Manor Care in Oklahoma City.

She was born July 16, 1915, in Macomb to Edward and Lillian (Williams) Albert.

She moved to Oklahoma City as a child where she attended Central High School.

Her family moved to a farm near Albion shortly after her 16th birthday.

She graduated from Albion High School.

In 1933, she moved to Oklahoma City where she worked as a live-in housekeeper for several years and saved enough money to attend Beauty College.

She also worked for a brief time during World War II at Tinker Field in the propeller repair shop.

She was a beautician in Capitol Hill when she met and married Kenneth G. Johnson on Dec.23, 1937, a union that endured 56 years.

After World War II, they moved to Konawa, where she lived for over 50 years.

She raised a family and helped her husband on the farm.

She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Konawa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth on Oct. 24, 1994; one brother, Russell Albert; and two sisters, Dorothy Albert and Margie Baker.

She is survived by two sons, Terry Johnson of Edmond and Tom Johnson of Konawa; one daughter, Sharon Marquardt of Livermore, Calif.; one brother, Kenneth Albert of Midwest city and four grandchildren.

Izetta Johnson

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Izetta Johnson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

Interment is set for the Little Cemetery. Swearingen Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Johnson died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at Seminole Estates Nursing Home at the age of 105 years.

She was born April 4, 1899, in Fort Scott, Kan. to Corbin Street Hart and Pearl Alfreta (Thompson).

On Oct. 3, 1917, she married Timothy W. Johnson in Sapulpa.

Johnson was a homemaker.

She was a 72-year member of the First Christian Church.

Johnson was a 50-year member of the Garden Club and the Homemakers Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tim, on Sept. 27, 1985; and two children, Elaine Bennett and Wayne Johnson.

Johnson is survived by two sons, Roy Johnson of Tulsa and Doyle Johnson of Oklahoma City; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers are scheduled to be David Johnson, Doyle Johnson, Joshua Freed, Chad Raymond, Jeff Bennett and Brad Johnson.

Lula Johnson

Funeral services for Seminole County resident, Lula Ellen Johnson, of Wewoka are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 19 at Stout Chapel with Rev. Russell Ryker officiating.

Interment will be at Little Cemetery, north of Little, under the direction of the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.

She died Friday, May 14, 2004, at her home, at the age of 73.

She was born in Sasakwa August 31, 1930, to Jessie and Lula Denney.

She was reared in the in the Wewoka area and attended Wewoka High School.

She married Edward Johnson on October 5, 1973.

She was a member of the Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church since 1990.

She loved going to New Lima basketball and baseball games, and when she wasn’t there she loved fishing.

Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Lula Denney, her husband Edward Johnson, one son Ronnie Richardson, two brothers Vernon Denney and Russell Lee Denney, and one sister Vera Creach.

Survivors include three children, Donna and Richard Brooks of Mustang, Shelley Stanfill and Diane and Alvie Martin, all of Wewoka, six grandchildren, Meghann Lingo and Shasta Juarez, both of Nashville, Ark., Carrenna Snider and Jessie Martin, both of Wewoka, Shawn Yarberry of Lawton and Scott Martin of Oklahoma City; six great granchildren, Celia Juarez, Hallie Lingo, Trenton Miller, Bryson Miller, Tyler Lingo and Sonnie Snider; and step-children, Eddie Johnson, Marty Lunn, Debbie Johnson, Sue Conley, Mary Crosby, and her beloved Katie.

Pallbearers will be Cornelio Perez, Hoppy Ramsey, Sammy Juarez, Floyd Snider Jr., Alvie Martin and Mike Mathews.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.

Myrtle Johnson

Funeral services for Seminole native, Myrtle Lois Johnson are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 3 at Snake Creek Baptist Church #2, located 9 miles north of Seminole and 3 miles east of Little.

Memorial services for Johnson were scheduled for 7 p.m. in Resthaven in Shawnee on Monday, March 1 and wake services at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

She died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at the age of 69 in her home in Shawnee, surrounded by her children.

She was born Sept. 21, 1934, in Seminole to Maggie Tanyan and Edmond Fixico.

She attended Prairie Valley School.

Johnson was a professional seamstress and worked for Finley Cleaners for eight years.

She was also a Sunday school teacher for Snake Creek Baptist Church #2 and Indian Nations Baptist Church.

She is a member of the Seminole Tribe and Indian Nations Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Albert Eugene Johnson; one grandson, Dexter Eugene Fish; and one great granddaughter, Sky Mone’l Johnson.

She is survived by nine sons, Ronnie Johnson, Steve Johnson, Walter M. Johnson, Joe Johnson and Grayling Johnson, all of Shawnee, Bruce Johnson of Oklahoma City, Leam Johnson of Tecumseh, Curtis Johnson of Mustang and George Johnson of Blanchard; one daughter, Vera Vaccaro of Shawnee; siblings, Rev. T.J. Fixico, Margaret Hobia and Kenneth Fixico, all of Seminole, Teresa Creek, Gladys Kaskaske, Geneva Fixico and Samuel Fixico, all of Shawnee, and Winona Washington of Bethany; 39 grand children and 35 great grandchildren.
