Mohana Jo Cotner

Graveside services for lifelong Konawa resident Mohana Jo Cotner are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at the Konawa Cemetery.

Rev. Drew Isaacs is set to officiate, under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Cotner died Sunday at her residence in Konawa.

She was born Nov. 30, 1941, in Konawa, to James Thomas Brower and Ophelia (Hamm) Brower.

Cotner was married to Billy Mack Musick, who preceded her in death in February 1995.

She later married Michael A. Cotner in January 2000, and he preceded her in death in September 2002.

Cotner was a secretary and bookkeeper for McClure’s Propane Service in Konawa and M.A. Cotner Oil Company.

She also worked for the County Tax Assessor’s Office.

Cotner was of the Baptist faith.

Besides her husbands, Cotner was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Barbara Sue Gregg.

She is survived by her step-mother, Tressie Brower of Konawa; one son, Michael Thomas Musick, Tulsa; one daughter, Monica Sue Mackey, Konawa; one grandson and one great-grandson.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of the donator’s choice.

Ethel Lucile Cotterman

Graveside services for Maud resident Ethel Lucile Cotterman are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud.

Cotterman died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at her home in Maud. She was 88.

Cotterman was born July 18, 1916, in Clarion, Pa. to Thad C. Miller and Adda (Vogel) Miller.

On May 22, 1933, she married Harold Clair Cotterman in Brookville, Pa. She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Harold Cotterman, preceded her in death in October 1989. Her parents and her son, Frances Cotterman also preceded her.

She is survived by six sons, Jon Cotterman of Maud, Don Cotterman of Pueblo, Colo., Roger Cotterman of New Brighton, Pa., Charlie Cotterman of Wewoka, George Cotterman of Ft. Wayne, Ind., James Cotterman of Bowlegs; three daughters, Karen Bechtold of Colorado Springs, Colo., Vicki Cotterman of Franklin, Pa., Linda O’Connell of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Mildred Eiseman of Apollo, Pa.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

Pearl Coursey

Graveside services for longtime Wewoka resident Pearl Edith Coursey are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery with Bill Tomlin, Chaplain for Good Shepherd officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Coursey, 94, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005. She was born in Hot Springs, Ark on Oct. 15, 1910 to Albert and Susie Mullins.

At the age of five her family and four other families made a five-month trip in covered wagon to Wewoka.

She and Elmer "Casey" Coursey were married Sept. 17, 1928. Casey preceded her in death Feb. 27, 1997.

Coursey worked for the Big Yank Company in Wewoka for 32 years. Soon after retirement she moved to Shawnee, where she resided until entering McLoud Nursing center in March of 2002.

She spent much of her time reading the Bible and crocheting dresses for more than 200 dolls, which she gave to residents, staff and many children.

Her parents, two sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her four sons, Dan Coursey of McLoud, Emmitt Coursey of Oklahoma City, Eddie Coursey of Altus and Glenn Coursey of Shawnee.

Wanda Mae Cox

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Wanda Mae Cox are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Chesser officiating.

Interment is set to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Cox died at Holdenville General Hospital on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at the age of 83.

She was born in Wetumka on Nov. 11, 1921, to Andy Sellers and Maudie (Crawford) Sellers.

Cox attended Wetumka schools.

She married Otto Cox and they had four children together.

Cox was preceded in death by her husband, Otto; son, Johnny Cox and granddaughter Kim Coon.

She is survived by two daughters, Anita Coon and Sharon Martin of Houston, Texas; son, Jerry Cox of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Billy Croce

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Billy Gene Croce are scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

A graveside service is planned with interment for 2 p.m. Monday at Earls Chapel cemetery in Jacksonville, Texas.

Croce, 73, died Thursday, April 21, 2005 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. He was born May 7, 1931 in Baldhill, Okla. to George and Effie (Cunningham) Croce.

He married Thelma Louise Hisler in 1963 in Bay Town, Texas and was a veteran of the United States Army Infantry.

Croce worked as a millwright at Armco Steel Company, a steel manufacturing company, in Houston, Texas until he retired in 1984 and was a Jehovah Witness.

His parents, wife, two sons Billy D. Croce and Lee Reeves, one brother Leonard Croce and an infant sister all preceded him in death.

Surviving are two sons, Sam Croce of Splendora, Texas and Jimmy Reeves of Costa Rico; four daughters, Mary Lou Croce of Alabama, Melissa Croce of Florida, Laverne Reeves of Livingston, Texas and Louise Salvato of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother, Onis Croce of Seminole; sister, Betty Lou Martin of Tecumseh; companion Flora Lela of Seminole; 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Travace Crumb-Langwell

Services for Wewoka resident Travace Alton Crumb-Langwell are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Shanny Taff to officiate.

Interment is to follow services at the Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Mike Taylor, Stephanie Taylor, Shanny Taff, Eric Taylor, Christian Taylor and Julie Taff. Honorary bearers will be Chad Taylor and Rick Kiser.

Travace passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005 at the age of 31. He was born Jan. 1, 1974 to David and Diana Jackson Langwell in Holdenville.

He was raised in the Holdenville and Wewoka areas, and had lived here all of his life.

Travace enjoyed collecting motorcycles and cars and had good mechanical skills. He had been going to the Cerebral Palsy Center for many years and to know him was to love him. "His chains are unbound."

He is survived by his mother and father, Diana and David Langwell of Wewoka; grandmothers, Julia Madden of Holdenville and Jean Kiser of Ada; siblings, Mike Taylor of Wewoka, Stephanie Taylor and Sam of Moore, Shanny Taff and Wendy Strack of Del City, LaDonna and Tommy Kanard of Wewoka and Ryan and Lana Kattan of Seminole.

In addition, nieces and nephews, Eric, Chad, Karra Christian, Julie, Austen, Darcy, Cassie and Tavin; uncles, Chris, Rick Kiser, Ronnie Kiser, James and Jimmy Taylor and Larry and Lou Langwell; aunt, Sandra and Tommy Kirkland and cousins, JoAnn, Big Mike and Annette.

Benjamin Cullum

Funeral services for Stuart resident Benjamin Cullum are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Light House of Prayer Church, located west of Arpelar.

Rev. Walter Kuhlman and Rev. Rick Madron will officiate with George Holt acting as honorary pallbearer.

Interment is to follow at White Chimney Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Cullum, 57, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005 at his residence. He was born Oct. 25, 1948 in Holdenville to Benjamin Ivan and Lizzie Elizabeth Lanham Cullum.

He attended schools in Bowlegs, and later his family moved to the Holdenville area.

Cullum worked in the oilfield for several years and later worked as an automotive mechanic and carpenter.

He married Rosette Madron on April 28, 1969 in Wewoka and he attended Light House of Prayer Church.

His father, Benjamin Cullum; his mother and stepfather, Lizzie and Sidney Hudson; granddaughter, Stephanie Berry; grandson, Tristen Kibby; five sisters and five brothers preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife of the home; five children, Katy Martin of Langdon, Kan., Vicky Berry of Chandler, Lee Cullum of Stuart, Ricky Cullum of Dibble and Jody Kern of Wewoka; brother, Frank Cullum of Bowlegs and 19 grandchildren.

Joseph Cully

Funeral services for former Seminole resident Joe Cully are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka with Pastor Kellos Walker and Evangelist Richard Pickup to officiate.

Wake services are scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at the Stout-Phillips Chapel. Interment is to follow services at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Cully passed away on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005 at the age of 64. He was born on April 19, 1940 in Talihina to Marcy and Jennie Cully.

Joe grew up in the Seminole County area and graduated from Bowlegs Schools in 1958.

He married Frances George Cully on Aug. 3, 1991 in Konawa. He worked for Seminole County Election Board as the secretary and was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.

Cully also served as a trustee and Baptist Men’s leader of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.

His parents, Marcy and Jennie Cully, two brothers Clyde Nero and Jack Wilson preceded him in death.

Surviving him is his wife Frances of the home; three sons, Rex Cully, Lance Cully and Drake Cully of Lawrence, Kan.; four daughters, Freda Gippt of Lawrence, Darlene Porter of Konawa, Jean Ann Johnson of Wewoka and Dena Brady of Shawnee.

In addition five brothers, Johnny Wilson of Kadoka, S.D., Steve Wilson of Holdenville, Dorsey Nero of Seminole, Simon Wilson of Holdenville and Paul Wilson; three sisters, Mary Jane Milam, Ruth Deckey and Josephine Wilson; 13 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends survive him.

Pallbearers for the service will be Scott Johnson, Tim Anderson, Jesse Cosar, Roy Cosar, Richard Emarthle, Ed George, Bill Larney and Steve Quenton.

Honorary bearers will include Kelly Haney, Jarrod Porter, Tyler Porter, Tony Johnson, Bobby George, James George, Merle Jim and Joe Craig.
