Bobby Ramey

Graveside services for Seminole resident Bobby B. Ramey are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Little Cemetery with Rev. Jess Powers to officiate.

The services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Ramey, 71, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005 at Seminole Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1934 in Seminole to Lee and Effie Fae (Hale) Ramey.

He most recently lived in Seminole having moved from Edmond seven years ago and was a retired truck driver.

Ramey married Shirley Jean Brown on Aug. 15, 1960 in Gainesville, Texas.

He served in the United States Airforce as a third airman.

His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife; three sons, Greg Luper of Hennessey, Mike Luper of Edmond and Bobby Garner of Bowlegs; daughter, Lisa Stivers of Bowlegs; two brothers, Ray Ramey and E.T. Ramey, both of Bowlegs; two sisters, Melynda Self of Seminole and Alta Ramey of Sulphur; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Faye Ramey

Funeral services for former Konawa resident Faye Ramey are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Hennessey Church of Christ officiated by Lanny Jobe.

A graveside service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole under the direction of Cordy-Gritz Funeral Home.

Ramey, 85, died Sunday, May 8, 2005 at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Enid. She was born Feb. 15, 1920 in Ada to Calvin S. and Mary Lou Jenks Vance.

She attended Konawa High School and furthered her education at East Central State College on a violin/cello scholarship.

In April 1939 she married Leonard Waller and they had two children.

She married O.D. Ramey in May 1953 and they moved to Hennessey in May 1961. She was a member of the Hennessey Church of Christ and was active in the community.

Surviving is her husband, O.D. Ramey of the home; son Max Waller of Seminole; daughter Nancy K. Mathes of Hennessey; one stepdaughter Penny Ordway of Fountain Valley, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hennessey Church of Christ with the funeral home as custodian of the fund at the request of the family.

Betty Jo Ramsey

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka for Betty Jo Ramsey. Bobby Ramsey will officiate for the service.

Interment is set to follow services at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Ramsey, 62, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005 at Holdenville General Hospital. She was born Feb. 17, 1942 in Hughes County to Marshall and Mattie (Cook) Glass.

She was raised in the Holdenville area and graduated from Holdenville High School. Betty married Raymond Ramsey on March 29, 1962 in Ada and they had four children during their marriage.

Ramsey was employed as a cook for Wewoka Schools and New Age Center in Wewoka. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church.

She loved being outdoors and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Her parents, Marshall and Mattie; her son, Tony Ramsey; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Dawn Ramsey; one sister, Jo Ann Glass; and three brothers, Marshall Glass, Carl Glass and Denzil Glass, all preceded her in death.

Surviving her is her husband, Raymond Ramsey of the home; daughters Teresa and husband Mike Smith of Carrolton, Texas and Kim Ramsey and Gary Williams of Seminole; son Mike and Karla Ramsey of Bowlegs; brother Kenneth Glass of Lincoln, Ark; and sisters, Pat Thompson of Morris, Wanda Brooks of Lawton and Sue Barksdale of Grand Rapids, Mich.

In addition her grandchildren, Derek and wife Stephanie Ramsey, Jeremy Streater, Austin Smith, Chance Smith, Anthony Ramsey, Marisa Ramsey, Dylan Ramsey and Shelby Ramsey; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive her.

Mark Ramsey

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Mark Elliott Ramsey, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Harvey Road Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Robertson officiating.

Interment is to follow at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Ramsey, 44, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005 at home in Seminole. He was born July 3, 1961 in Wetumka to Paul Thomas Ramsey and Nadean (Mead) Ramsey.

Mark lived most of his life in Seminole County and worked as a roughneck before becoming disabled in 1981.

His parents preceded him in death.

Surviving is one daughter, Crista Nadean Ramsey of Seminole; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary Thomas and Donna Ramsey and Ricky Wade and Sharon Ramsey, both of Wetumka and one sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Ali Moradi of Seminole.

In addition, he is survived by nieces and nephews, Shawnda Curtis, Stormy Ramsey and Jeremy Ramsey, all of Wetumka and great-nephews, Quin and Brady Rogers of Wetumka.

Pallbearers for the services will be Curtis Kasinger, Danny Parsons, Larry Davis, Bob Herron, George Gates and Bruce Montgomery.

Honorary bearers will be Mark Kasinger, Rick Melton, Terry Melton and Chester Phillips.

Paul Thomas Ramsey

Paul Thomas Ramsey, 81 of Seminole, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2005 in Seminole. He was born March 12, 1924 in Morris, Okla. to Albert and Mary Elizabeth (Hankins) Ramsey.

He attended school at Lawnwood in Wetumka. He was raised in the Wetumka area then moved in 1959 to Lamont, Calif., then back to Seminole County in 1969.

Ramsey retired in 1987 from Nowlin Trucking in Oklahoma City.

He married Betty "Nadean" (Mead) Ramsey on Nov. 1, 1946 in Ada, Okla., she preceded him in death on Aug. 21, 1999.

He was formerly a 32 degree Mason at Holdenville Lodge, a former deacon and song leader at Lamont First Assembly of God in California. He enjoyed playing the guitar and mandolin.

He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy, entering service in the Navy in Feb.10 1943. He was honorably discharged on March 18, 1946.

He served as a water-tender 3rd Class in the Asiatic-Pacific area, participating in the Philippine Liberation for which he received one star, he also received a World War Victory Medal II.

Surviving is his daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Ali Moradi of Seminole; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Thomas and Donna Ramsey of Wetumka, Ricky and Sharon Ramsey of Wetumka, Mark Elliott Ramsey of Seminole; one half-sister and brother-in-law, Demeryl "Dee" and Roy Fields and their four children of Mountain Home, Ark.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, Shonda Curtis of Wetumka, Jeremy Ramsey of Wetumka, Stormy Ramsey of Ada, Crista Ramsey of the home and two great grandchildren, Quinn Thomas Rogers of Wetumka and Brady Lee Rogers of Wetumka.

His parents; wife of 53 years; one sister, Opal Ramsey Bowling; half brother, Junior Casey; stepfather Herman Casey and grandparents who raised him Polly and John Wesley Drake preceded him in death.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 3 at the Living Water Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wetumka with Rev. Renee Ross officiating.

Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville, Okla.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Ramsey, Gary Ramsey, Mark Ramsey, Jeremy Ramsey, Carl Curtis, and Quinn Rogers.

Honorary bearers will be Brady Rogers, Ali Moradi, Chuck Burnside, Kenneth Hill and Curtis Kasinger.

Harold Raper

Funeral services for lifelong Konawa resident Harold Glen Raper are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Pam Shirk and Rev. Charley Heathorn to officiate.

Interment is to follow services at Konawa City Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.

Raper, 73, died Thursday, June 2, 2005 in Ada. He was born Dec. 20, 1931 in Konawa to Clarence and Mae (Walker) Raper.

He attended and graduated from Konawa High School and graduated from Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater with a degree in animal husbandry.

Raper served with the United States Army in Germany in helicopter maintenance. He retired as a rancher and a farmer.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Konawa, past Board Member and President of the Seminole County Chapter of Oklahoma Farm Bureau, and former member of the Konawa Lions Club.

Raper married Wanda Kinder in Konawa on Feb. 13, 2002.

His first wife, Carol Raper (in August 2000), his parents, two sisters Sue Ellen Raper and Infant Girl Raper preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife Wanda of Konawa; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and Pat Underwood of Idabel and Edie and Brad Linton of Mansfield, Texas; one brother Karl Raper of Konawa; one sister Cheryl Akin of Moore; five grandchildren, Pat and Kristin Underwood, Emily, Joshua and Rachel Linton; and extended family members, Brenda and Willie Cloud, Kelley and Donna Neely, Jon and Cheryl Kade, Adi Cloud, Brea and Daniel Cloud and Kaci and Stephanie Neely.

Gary Ratliff

A memorial service for Wewoka native, Gary B. Ratliff, has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at DeBerry Funeral Chapel in Denton, Texas.

Ratliff, 62, of Texas died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 in Decatur, Texas. He was born Dec. 10, 1942 in Wewoka to William Irven Ratliff and Helen Jo Winn Ratliff.

He graduated from Enid High School and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Ratliff married Linda Alexander on Feb. 4, 1967 in Highland, Calif. and was a production associate for Boeing.

Surviving is his wife, Linda Ratliff of Denton, Texas; daughter, Darci Ratliff of Seattle, Wash.; son, Todd Ratliff of Lewisville; sisters, Toni Ratliff of Santa Fe, N.M. and Ann Hackworth of Greer, S.C.

DeBerry Funeral Directors of Benton, Texas are in charge of the arrangements.

Sherry Mosley Rawls

Memorial services for daughter of former Seminole resident Shirley Mosley, and Holdenville business woman, Sherry Mosley Rawls, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church, under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Rev. Joe Robinson is set to officiate.

Rawls died in an auto accident with her mother, Shirley Mosley, on Sunday, June 12, 2005, in Elk City. She was 49.

She was born Sep, 24, 1955, in Holdenville to Curtis Mosley and Shirley Asbury Mosley.

Raised in Holdenville, Rawls graduated from Holdenville High School in 1973.

On June 15, 1982, she married Ray W. "Butch" Rawls, Jr. in Holdenville at the Methodist Church.

For their 20th anniversary, the couple renewed their vows in 2002. They were to celebrate 23 years of marriage on Wednesday.

Rawls was the owner of The In Zone in Holdenville since 1996. She attended Shawnee Beauty College.

Rawls’ hobbies included fishing, crafts, singing and dancing and she was known for her monogramming.

She is survived by her husband, Butch of the home; and children, Curt Rawls and Tara Kneggs of Ada and Ali Rawls of the home.
