Barbara Ann Iverson

Funeral services for Seminole native and former resident, Barbara Ann Iverson, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Iverson, 68, of Yukon passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was born Sept. 15, 1937 in Seminole to Odis London Price and Irene Marie (Taylor) Price.

On May 11, 2001 she married Bjarne M. Iverson in Oklahoma City.

She was a clerk at Gruder’s Grocery Store in Oklahoma City for many years. While living in Florida she worked as a beautician.

Iverson loved to travel, dive in the water’s off the coast of Florida, loved dogs and was the owner of five Pomeranians, and was in the process of publishing a book.

She loved to ride motorcycles and will be remembered for being a very devoted mother, friend and grandmother.

Surviving is her husband of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Arlie and Sheryl Boylan of Tuttle, Kenneth and Misty Boylan of Yukon and Charles Boylan of Oklahoma City; one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Steve Winchester of Tuttle; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas and Janice Price of Seminole and Jerry and Karen Price of Salina, Kan.; one sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Don Hair of Shawnee; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Stephen Jackson

Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Stephen Ray Jackson are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Wewoka.

Elder Keith Hardwick of Love Chapel Cogic, Wewoka is to officiate with interment to follow at Westwood Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Myers Mortuary, Wewoka.

Jackson, of Oklahoma City, died in a car accident Sunday, May 7, 2006 in Oklahoma City at the age of 27 years. He was born Dec. 31, 1977 in Oklahoma City to Danny Ray Jackson and Shirley (Hudgins) Jackson.

He was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and had attended Wewoka Grade School and Harding High School in Oklahoma City.

His mother preceded him in death.

Surviving is his father and stepmother, Danny and Roberta Jackson of Wewoka; sons, Dayveon Jackson of Wewoka and Danny Ray Jackson Jr. of Shawnee and sister, Brandi Jackson of Wewoka.

Wiley Jackson

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Wiley Riley Jackson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allen Wood officiating.

Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Jackson, 80, passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006 at Baptist medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born March 29, 1926 in Stigler to Jonas Jackson and Nellie (Kelough) Hardin Jackson.

He lived in Shawnee for the past year and was an aircraft mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base for 30 years before retiring in 1982.

Jackson married Dorothy Campbell in Bowlegs on July 8, 1949. She was his second wife of 43 years and the mother of his children. On August 2001 he married Jean Kistler.

He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Wolfe and of the American Legion.

His parents; first wife, Marjorie Lee (Turner) Jackson (4-12-47) and second wife, Dorothy (Campbell) Jackson (12-27-94) preceded him in death.

Surviving is wife, Jean Jackson of the Seminole home; two daughters and son-in-law, Faye Houck of Norman and Brenda and Daryle Presley of Seminole; one brother, Lewis "Doc" Jackson of Glenpool; one sister, Rena Bundy of Seminole; four grandchildren, Sarah White of Norman, D.J. Houck of Seminole, Melissa Kennedy of North Carolina and Kerri Presley of Ada and two great-grandchildren, Drake White and Kodi Houck, both of Seminole.

Wynema Jackson

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Wynema Jackson are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Stout-Phillips Chapel. Rev. Amanda Lockwood and Rev. Meredith Robinson will officiate.

Wake services will begin a 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Stout –Phillips Chapel with Rev. Sam Jones officiating.

Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Wynema Jackson passed away on Monday, Sept. 4, 2006 in Shawnee. She was born to James and Maggie Paukei in Lawton on Nov. 19, 1932.

She graduated from Gotebo High School where she was a member of Oklahoma’s first State Championship Softball Team.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State College and master’s degree from East Central State University.

Wynema taught school in Oklahoma City, on the Indian Reservations in New Mexico and Arizona, Pagosa Springs, Colorado before moving to Wewoka in 1965.

In December 1955 Wynema married Bill Jackson. They shared a love of education, sports and travel. They recently traveled to Europe for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Wynema retired from Wewoka Public Schools with 37 years of experience.

She was a member of the American Association of University Women, Oklahoma Education Association of University Women, Oklahoma Education Association, National Education Association, First United Methodist Church, Wewoka Quarterback Club, Women’s Golf Association, Group leader for Campfire Girls and Girls Softball Coach.

Wynema is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Jimmy Paukei, George Paukei and Donald Paukei.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; son and daughter in law, Wayne and Brenda Jackson of Wewoka; daughter and son in law, Kelly and Rod Porter of Amarillo, Texas and daughter and son in law, Wyma and John Gural of The Colony, Texas; three granddaughters, Lora Stieman of Jacksonville Fla., Kimberly Porter of Hereford, Texas and Sarah Porter Lubbock Texas.

She is also survived by sisters, Ann Hudson of Anadarko, Jane Terrell of Almonte Springs, Fla. and Gloria Shea of Purcell and brothers, Adolph Paukei of Cyril, Lewis Paukei of Norman and Orville Paukei of Albuquerque, N.M.; one great-grandson Caden and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Allan Johnson

Funeral services for former longtime Seminole resident, Allan Johnson, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Rev. Leroy Kerbo officiating.

Interment is to follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Johnson, 26, of Mannford, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006 in Mannford. He was born Aug. 12, 1979 in Shawnee to Billy M. and Gwen (Nabors) Johnson.

He was a 1997 graduate of Seminole High School and attended college at East Central University in Ada. He has lived in Mannford for the past two years and worked as a welder for Fabwell in Tulsa for the past year and a half.

Johnson enjoyed hunting, fishing and rollerblading.

His grandfather, Bill F, Nabors, and his grandmother, Madine Johnson preceded him in death.

Surviving are his parents, Bill and Gwen Johnson of Seminole; sister, Shelly Johnson of Seminole; grandmother, Jewell Nabors of Shawnee and grandfather, Ronald Johnson of Seminole.

Jerry Johnson

Jerry Lynn Johnson, Konawa area resident, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, at his residence at the age of 63.

He was born on Jan. 11, 1943 in Maryville, Tenn., to Johnny Thomas and Pauline (Ekins) Johnson.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

He married Wynell (Zachary) on June 25, 1988 in Alma, Ark. They resided in Asher before moving to Konawa last year.

He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar and telling jokes.

Johnson is survived by his wife, Wynell, of the home; three sons, Dakota Scott Johnson of Konawa, Herbert Hasbell, Jr. of Greenville, Texas, and Ricky Hasbell of Kaufman, Texas; four daughters, Tina Lynn Sawyer of West Memphis, Ark., Nina Cotner of Asher, Kelly Johnson and Shelly Johnson, both of California; two sisters, Brenda Cook of Mount Vernon, Wash., and Pearl Ann Taylor of Mulberry, Ark; 15 grandchildren, four great- grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Tommy Gene Hasbell and a special cousin, Roger Dale Poe.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 2 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with Chaplain Donnie Knight officiating.

Burial will follow in Little Cemetery north of Seminole.

Casket bearers will be Michael Poe. Dakota Johnson, Justin Cotner, Timothy Davis, Tim Johns and Rocky Wayne Van Tanssel.

Ronald Johnson

Graveside services for lifelong Seminole resident Ronald Everett Johnson were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Little Cemetery with Rev. Gary Wilburn of First United Methodist Church officiating.

Johnson, 91, died Sunday, March 5, 2006 at Seminole Estates Care Center. He was born May 11, 1914 in Sylvan, Okla. to Captolia Johnson and Martha J. (Hall) Johnson.

He married Madine Foreman on July 26, 1936 in Lawton and was a "rural route" mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Johnson was of the Methodist faith.

His parents, wife (July 14, 1995), three brothers, two sisters and one grandson preceded him in death.

Surviving are three sons, Ron Johnson and Bill Johnson, of Seminole and Kenneth Johnson of Tulsa; one daughter, Beverly Morris of Seminole; two brothers, Howard Johnson of Sallisaw and Capp T. of Trail, Ore.; one sister, Dorothy Schiller of Seminole; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Jack Jones

Funeral services for former longtime Seminole resident Jack Jones are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday ay Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Rev. Fred Morrison and rev. Darrell Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery.

Services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Jones, 75, of Liberty, Texas died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006 at M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas. He was born Feb. 23, 1931 in Seminole to Willis Hyram Jones and Eliza Risenhoover.

He married Joyce Henderson and was an auto mechanic and worked a variety of jobs and operated several businesses.

His parents; brother, Harold James Jones; son, Willis Allen Jones; first wife, Hazel Jones and a grandson, Paul Jones preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife, Joyce Jones of the home; four sons, Jackie Jones of Harrisburg, Ore., Billy Jones and Raymond Jones, both of Shawnee and Jeffrey Jones of McLoud; two daughters, Janet McGowan of Liberty, Texas and Sheila Jones of Oklahoma City; one sister, Mary Langley of Liberty, Texas and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

James Jones

Funeral services for Wewoka resident James Colton Jones are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Wewoka with Rev. Russell Ryker and Rev. Lendal Bolin officiating.

Interment is to follow at the Jones Family Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Jim Jones passed away Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006 at the age of 77years. He was born Aug. 19, 1929 to James F. and Pearl (Colton) Jones.

He started his mechanic occupation at the Ford Garage at the age of 15 years. He served six years in the United States Army.

Jim owned and operated Jones Truck Repair from 1980 to 2006.

He was married to Helen Pierce on Aug. 8, 1955. They celebrated their 51st anniversary this month.

His parents, one brother, Harry L. (Bud) Jones and one brother-in-law, Howard Evans preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife, Helen Jones of the home; two daughters, Debbie and husband Alan Sing of Arkadelphia, Ark. and Donna and husband Ronnie Church of Oklahoma City; one son, Kevin and wife Debbie Jones of Seminole; three sisters, Juanita Evans of Wewoka, Melba and husband Darrell Brumley of Skiatook and June Metts of Tulsa; two brothers, Avis Jones of Chadwick, Mo. and Bob and wife Judy Jones of Denton, Texas; one sister-in-law, Betty Jones of Edmond; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and man y nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers for the services will be Donnie Young, Richard Bruner, Darrel Streater, Roy Sisco, Charles Sisco and James Gantt.

Honorary bearers will be Joe Talbert, George Sharp, Art Garner and Dick Kay.
