Ella Capps

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Ella Frances (Dority) Capps are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Stout-Philips Funeral Chapel with Dr. Larry Elwell and Rev. Homer Young officiating.

Burial is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Seminole.

Ella passed away Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007 at Wewoka Nursing Center. She was born Aug. 2, 1914 in Park City, Utah to Milton Henry and Loretta Marie (Payne) Dority.

She attended school in Utah.

Ella married Alfred Capps, on June 5, 1943 in Las Vegas, Nev.

She attended college at St. Mary’s of the Wasach and went to nursing school and worked as a nurse.

Later she worked with her mother in a restaurant that they owned. She moved to California and met Al, and worked at McDonald’s Douglas, Tulsa, as "Rosie Riveter", she later worked for Edna Looney Products and Seamproof.

Preceding Ella in death are her parents; sister, Mary Dority; Dee Killen; brothers, John Monroe Dority (who was killed in Pearl Harbor), Milton Dority and Melvin Dority.

Survivors include husband, Alfred "Al" Capps of Wewoka; special friend and daughter, Sheila Qualls of Wewoka; brother, Richard Dority of Park City, Utah; sister, Carol Roberts of Park City, Utah; brother-in-law, David Capps of Holdenville; brother-in-law, Ken Killen of Henderson, Nev.; sister-in-law, Nellie Elwell of Joshua, Texas, and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Andre Carolina

Funeral services for Wewoka native Andre Lamon Carolina are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Wewoka.

Interment will follow in the Westwood Cemetery and will be under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.

Carolina died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 in Tulsa at the age of 34.

He was born to Andrew Smith and May Carolina on June 10, 1973 in Wewoka.

Carolina graduated from Wewoka High School in 1991, and was a member of the St. Joseph Baptist Church in Wewoka where he was saved at an early age.

He attended the University of Oklahoma and East Central University before joining the United States Marine Corps in 1993.

He was stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif., until he was honorably discharged in 2000.

Carolina married Natalie (Nease) Carolina on Feb. 25, 1994 in Wewoka, and they had one daughter, Kyndal Catherine on Nov. 26, 2006.

In 1997, Carolina graduated from Park College in California with his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, and from the University of Tulsa in 2001 with his law degree.

He was currently practicing law at Carolina and Morgan Law Firm in Tulsa.

Carolina was a member of the American Bar Association and also enjoyed writing, recording and producing music.

He is survived by his wife, Natalie and one daughter, Kyndal Catherine, both of the home; father, Andrew Smith and wife Andrienna, Bakersfield, Calif.; maternal grandfather, Richard Carolina Sr., Wewoka; one sister, Syreeta Cotton, Oklahoma City; three sisters, Andrea Smith, Bakersfield, Calif., Ebonie Johnson, Bakersfield, Calif., and half-sister, Danielle Broussard; and one half-brother, John Broussard.

Manuel Carolina Sr

Funeral services for lifelong Wewoka resident Manuel Carolina, Sr. are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church, Wewoka with Rev. Lee Bennson officiating.

Burial is to follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary, Wewoka.

Carolina, 61, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 in Wewoka. He was born Feb. 15, 1946 in Wewoka to Walter Lee and Dolly (Dimple) Carolina.

He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and was employed by Coats Roofing Company.

His father; two sons: Iven and Jason; one brother, Jerry; and two great-grandchildren, preceded him in death.

Surviving is his mother of Wewoka; wife of 28 years, Annie (Brown), of the home; sons: Manuel Jr., Kevin, Sidney and Ronnie of Oklahoma City, and Jimmy Cudjoe of Wichita Falls, Texas; and daughters: Teresa Kendricks of Virginia Beach, N.C., Felicia Gordon of Atlanta, Ga., Lisa Cudjoe and Kasandra Carolina of Oklahoma City, and Lisa Carolina of Wewoka.

Also surviving are sisters: Yetta Carolina of Los Angeles, Calif., Janice Carolina of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Gracie Carolina of Wewoka; brothers: David, Walter Jr., Ralph and Cassious of Oklahoma City, Mandell of DeSoto, Texas, Jonah of Colorado Springs, Colo., Roger, Melvin and Rodney of Wewoka; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Delois Carrigan

Graveside services for former Seminole resident Delois June Carrigan are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. John Haynes officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Carrigan, 59 of Stonewall, died Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Stonegate Nursing Center in Stonewall. She was born on May 4, 1947 in El Reno to Odis Jean and Mildred Viola (Welliver) Carrigan.

She attended First Baptist Church of Ada.

Surviving are two sisters, Jean Trobaugh and Lynett Jones, both of Ada and brother, Wendell Carrigan of Okemah.

Roy Carroll

Services for Konawa resident Roy Clemons Carroll were held today at 1 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Konawa with Rev. Mark Streetman officiating.

Interment was held at the Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of the Swearingen Funeral Home of Konwa.

Carroll died Saturday at the Francis Care Center in Ada at the age of 95. He was born Oct. 23, 1911 in Konwa to Walter Clemons Carroll and Nora (Mathis) Carroll.

Carroll married his wife Eva Carroll March 3, 1949 in Guthrie. Carroll worked in the oilfields and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Konawa and was a member of the Konawa Masonic Lodge.

Carroll also served on the Konawa City Council for several years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one brother and three sisters.

Survivors include one son, Walter Carroll of Konawa, two stepdaughters, LaDonna Willis, Canton, and Joyce of California; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Delores Ann Carter

A memorial service will beheld at a later date for former Seminole resident Delores Ann Barton Carter of California.

Interment will be held in California next to her husband.

Carter died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 in Hemit, Calif. She was born on Aug. 21, 1944 in Ft. Smith, Ark.

She was raised and attended school in Seminole.

Her father, Allen Barton of California and her husband, Roger Carter, preceded her in death.

Surviving are four sons, Leonard Hensley, John Hensley, Randy Hensley and Ski Hensley, all of Calif.; several grandchildren; mother and stepfather, Wallie and Mildred Haggard of Seminole; three brothers, Tommy Barton and James Barton, both of Shawnee and Larry Haggard of Seminole and two sisters, Linda Chesser of Shawnee and Bonnie Chesser of Holdenville.

Jesse Castor

Funeral services for Seminole County native Jesse Carl Castor are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, in the Drumright Church of Christ with Mr. Clay Webb officiating.

Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m., Monday in Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole.

Services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Oilton, Okla.

God blessed Jesse with being 91 years, one month and 14 days when he passed on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007 in Cushing. Jesse was born Dec. 18, 1915 in Seminole County to Albert L. Castor and Lola E. Chaney.

His mother, dad, brothers and sisters preceded Jesse in death.

He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy; his four children, Jeffrey C. Castor of Coweta, David and Christie Castor of Sapulpa, Nannetta and Marvin Carter of Winston Salem, N.C., Paul and Shirley Castor Sr. of Drumright; grandchildren, Paul and Dave’lon Castor of Oilton, Jamie Castor-Eason of Broken Arrow, Joseph Castor of Oilton, Jarod Carter of Jacksonville, Fla., Mathew Carter of Jacksonville Fla., Shelli Castor and Shannon Castor Of Sapulpa and five great-grandchildren.

He had a great love for his family, working with wood, making picture frames, and especially his favorites were cooking, canning, and sharing recipes.

He had put on Christ in baptism in Tracy, Calif. on Dec. 14, 1947 and was an active member with the Church of Christ in Drumright.

We will surely miss his smiles and witty sayings.

James Caudill

Funeral services for Sasakwa native James B. Caudill, Sr. were held at 2 p.m. today at Lillye Chapel, Fisher Funeral Home in Holdenville.

Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Larry Chesser, Sr. and Rev. Rick Madron officiating.

Services were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Holdenville.

Caudill, 77 and longtime Seminole County resident, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born in Sasakwa on Feb. 5, 1930 to Steve Adam and Catherine (Walker) Caudill.

He was raised in the Konawa area before moving to Holdenville at a young age. On June 18, 1955 he married Dortha Green in Wagoner, Okla.

They lived in Holdenville for eight years before moving to Modesto, Calif., in 1963, where he worked in the auto salvage business for nine years.

The couple returned to Oklahoma in 1972 to live in Wewoka for the next 35 years and they owned and operated D&J Auto Salvage for many years. They sold the salvage yard and established Caudill Tire Sales.

Caudill was also in the ministry for more than 30 years. With the exception of one year in 1999 when he pastored the Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church, north of Yeager, he was an evangelist traveling the state and preaching in various churches.

His parents; one daughter, Katherine; one son, Michael; three sisters, Lucille Hatman, Mary Begley and Pat Eller; and four brothers, Everett Caudill, Lloyd "Junior" Caudill, Marshall Eller and Floyd Eller, preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife Dortha of the home; eight children: Doris Brown of Holdenville, James B. Caudill Jr. of Golden Valley, Ariz., Renee Foster of Wewoka, Annette Conley of Holdenville, Jamie Caudill of Holdenville, Jeffrey Caudill of Wewoka, Gregory Caudill of Wewoka and Joshua Caudill of Ada; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six sisters: Gloria Ledbetter of Seminole, Joyce Brinlee of Holdenville, Virginia Cambron of Houston, Texas, Francine Crosston of San Diego, Calif., Jean Binkley of Midwest City, and Nellie Abbot of Fort Worth, Texas.

William Cellars

Graveside services for Wewoka native, William "David" Cellars are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Fairview Cenetery in Shawnee with Rev. Amanda B.P. Lockwood officiating.

Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.

Cellars died Friday, March 30, 2007. He was born Feb. 22, 1971 in Wewoka to Johnny and Willie Mae (Rose) Cellars.

He attended school in Shawnee and was the manager of Seminole Scraps Works.

On Dec. 15, 1990 he married Shannon Wands in Cromwell and was of the Baptist faith.

His grandparents, Orvel N. and Roberta Jean Cellars and J.W. and Ruby Rose preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife; father, Johnny Cellars of Eufaula; four children, Cody Alan, Lacey Dawn, Jessica Fate and Cameron David Lee Cellars; brothers, John Nolan Cellars of Wanette and James Lee Cellars of Seminole and sister, Christa Shea Alred of Eufaula.

Cynthia Chandler

There are no services scheduled at this time for longtime Seminole resident Cynthia Denise Chandler.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home. Seminole.

Chandler, 45, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born on Nov. 12, 1961 in Cushing to Samuel Laffoon and Rose Marie (Weinsauer) Keener.

She moved from Eufaula at the age of six years old and was a graduate of Bowlegs High School in 1980 and then received her Bachelor of Science degree from East Central in 1991.

On Aug. 24, 1981 she married Raymond Chandler in Seminole. Cynthia was an elementary school teacher for the last 17 years, teaching 13 years at Earlsboro Schools and four years at Strothers Schools.

She was a member of El Shaddai Temple in the Strothers area, Earlsboro Teacher’s Association and the Oklahoma Education Association.

Her life centered around her church, her family, and her teaching of children.

Surviving is her husband, Raymond, of the home; mother, Rosie Marie Keener of Bowlegs; father, Sam Laffoon of Shawnee; one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Melissa Chandler of Seminole; one daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Joshua White of Seminole and two brothers, Sam Laffoon, Jr. of Oklahoma City and Daniel Laffoon of Shreveport, La.
