Kenneth Masters Dahl II

Kenneth Masters Dahl II was born Jan. 19, 1949 and passed away on Nov. 29, 2007.

Ken was born in Shawnee and raised in Oklahoma City to loving parents Kenneth Masters Dahl and Doris (Liddell) Dahl.

He graduated from Putnam City High School and attended OU while helping his father in the home building business.

At the time of his death, he was one of the owners in the family business, Commercial Brick Corporation in Wewoka.

Ken married the "love of his life," Pamela Bruton, on Feb. 7, 2007.

He accepted her daughter, Sharon, as his own, and her two sons, Tanner and Hunter, as his own grandsons.

Ken was a kind, generous, and giving man to everyone he knew and to some he didn’t know.

He loved life, was a super photographer, a Harley Davidson fanatic, a computer buff, enjoyed traveling, nature and reading, and had a soft heart for children and animals.

His love for his mother and wife was profound, although he didn’t always express it.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Masters Dahl.

He is survived by his mother, Doris; wife, Pamela; daughter, Sharon; grandsons, Tanner and Hunter; many dear aunts, uncles and cousins; his extended family members; as well as numerous friends.

Heartfelt thanks go out to those who helped care for Ken, Star Jackson, Kathy Snow and Sequeeta Potter.

Also, to those from Angelic Hospice of Shawnee, specifically, Amy, Tamia, Lori and Darrell.

Ken will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken’s name to Angelic Hospice Care in Shawnee.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home, located at 100 West Strothers Ave. in Seminole.

David Dailey Sr

Funeral services for former Konawa resident David Madison Dailey, Sr., were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2007 at the Tom M. Wages Chapel in Snellville, Ga.

Interment followed at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.

David, age 72 of Snellville, Ga., passed away on Oct. 16, 2007. He was born Sept. 15, 1935 in Konawa to the late Dr. F.M. and Lois Dailey.

He was a 1953 graduate of Konawa High School and in 1957 he graduated from Oklahoma A&M, earning a BS in Forestry.

After graduation he began a career with the U.S. Forest Service in Florida. He was later transferred to Lufkin, Texas, where he met and married Richie Burks in 1962.

David’s career with the USFS spanned more than 42 years including service in Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia and New Mexico. He retired in January 1998 in Atlanta, Ga.

David served as a Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Lilburn, Ga.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Richie Dailey of Snellville, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, David Jr. and Nancy Dailey of Loganville, Ga.; two grandchildren, Matthew Tyler Dailey and Jonathan David Dailey, both of Loganville; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Charles Kolar of St. Louis, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Loyce Daniels

A memorial service for former Seminole area resident Loyce "Anita" Daniels is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow.

Services are under the direction of Floral Haven in Broken Arrow.

Anita Daniels, 57, passed away in Tulsa Friday, Feb. 9, 2007. She was born July 13, 1949 in Oklahoma City.

She graduated from Byng High School in 1967 and married Lewis Daniels on Feb. 2, 1970 in Stratford.

Anita lived in the Seminole area for 19 years and she was a graduate of East Central University where she earned a teaching degree.

Her husband; mother, Dortha Randell; her grandfather, William "Bill" Beam and three brothers preceded her in death.

Anita is survived by three children, Johnny Daniels of Tulsa, Mark Daniel of Dover, N.H., and Holley Daniels of Owasso; five grandchildren; one brother and two sisters.

Barbara Darr

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Barbara Ann (Jackson) Darr were held today at 2 p.m. at Highway Baptist Church in Little with Rev. Scott Lenaburg officiating.

Interment followed at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Barbara Darr, 54, passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2007 at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born Nov. 10, 1952 in Ada to Johney P. Jackson and Doris (Wyckoff) Jackson.

On May 18, 1974 she married Kenneth Dale Darr in Seminole and he preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2006.

She graduated from New Lima High School and was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for Austin Drilling and the Seminole Chamber of Commerce.

Her father, Johney R. Jackson (1979); husband, Kenneth Dale Darr (2006); and one brother, Bruce Jackson (1959) preceded her in death.

Surviving is her mother, Doris Jackson of Seminole; two daughters, Mandy and Ashley Darr, both of Seminole; one brother and sister-in-law, Johney P. and Vera Jackson Jr., of Houston, Texas; two sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley and John Clute of Colorado and Linda Jackson of Oklahoma City; and four brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Peggy Darr of Noble, Gary and Kelly Darr of Mineral Wells, Texas, Alan Darr of Bowlegs and Tim and Debbie Darr of Seminole.

Lucille Darr

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Loma "Lucille" (Hopkins) Hines Darr are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at the Historic Strothers Chapel, located in the center of Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.

Her longtime friend and minister, rev. Allen Wood, will officiate the service.

Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Loma "Lucille" (Hopkins) Hines Darr, 87 years old, passed from this life Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 at Seminole Estates Care Center. She was born March 9, 1920 in Healdton, Okla., to parents West Hopkins and Cassie Mae (Webb) Hopkins.

Lucille moved to Seminole from Healdton with her parents when she was 11 years old, traveling in a covered wagon. She told the story that when they reached Maud her father had to lead the team of horses through the town because they were spooked by the sound of the steam engines

Lucille graduated from Seminole High School and had worked several years cooking at the Seminole Public Schools cafeteria. She later became the dietician at the old Seminole Hospital and worked there until her retirement in 1982.

Lucille was a longtime member of the Freewill Baptist Church serving as church secretary and she was also in the Women’s Auxiliary at the church.

Lucille married Benny S. Hines in March of 1960 in Durant, Okla. He preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1979. She later married Edwin L. "Ed" Darr on Aug. 18, 1983 in Seminole. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2001.

Lucille leaves to cherish her memory one son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Gloria Ritchie of San Francisco, Calif.; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Carroll Lowe of Maud; five grandchildren: Steve and his wife Brenda Snow of Gravette, Ark., James and his wife Joy Bradley of Siloam Springs, Ark., Raymond Ritchie of Fort Worth, Texas, Terri and his wife Terry Powell of Sacramento, Calif., and Melody and her husband Rinehart Wilke of Seminole, Fla.

Other survivors include 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; including special friend George Fain of Seminole and her special friend and provider, Amanda Pierce of Seminole; as well as a host of other family and dear friends.

Her parents, two husbands, two brothers, one sister and one great-grandson, Daniel Bradley who died in April of 1992, precede Lucille in death.

Leoma Davidson

Funeral services for Wewoka resident, Leoma Davidson, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Wewoka Church of Christ with Bro. Lendal Bolin officiating.

Interment is to follow at Tate Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Davidson died Friday, March 30, 2007. She was born Nov. 22, 1926 in Sugar Grove, Ark., to Luther L.E. and Bertie (Self) Catlett.

She attended Wewoka Public Schools and worked for Big Yank Factory for 37 years. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.

On July 2, 1945 she married Harold Davidson in Norman.

Her parents and three brothers, Hoyt, Doyle and Glenn Catlett preceded her in death.

Surviving are two children, David E. Davidson of Prague and Debra Madron of Ellabell, Ga.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Davidson, Joey Davidson, Chris Sebastian, Michael Sebastian, Michael Harrington and Andrew Landsdown.

Honorary bearers will be George Madron and Less Landsdown.

Barbara Davis

Funeral services for Sasakwa resident Barbara Ann Davis will be 2 p.m. Monday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel with Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Jimmy Freeman officiating with burial at CrossRoads Cemetery, Sasakwa.

Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.

Barbara Ann Davis of Sasakwa passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007 at Valley View Hospital in Ada at the age of 44 years. She was born Dec. 16, 1962 in Waldon, Ark., to Andrew and Juanita House.

She married Arthur Raymond Davis Jr. "Bejohn" on Nov. 7, 1992 in Sasakwa.

Barbara enjoyed arts, crafts, knitting, and spending every moment with her grandchildren and husband. She was a loyal OU fan and watched every game.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur Davis Jr. of the home; her two loving grandchildren, Alyssa and Makayla of, Sasakwa; her good friend and mother of her two grandchildren, Angela Schrader, of Sasakwa; one special brother-in-law, Terry K. Davis "Bondo" of Sasakwa; one special niece, Leah Davis, Sasakwa; four brothers: Jerry Morrow, Hot Springs, Ark., Henry Moore, Talera, Calif., Donnie Moore, Hot Springs, Ark. and Greg Lanier Texarkana, Ark.; two sisters, Betty Howerton, Ark., and Cindy Hickey, Texarkana, Ark.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Abe Davis II, Bill Davis Jr., Chris Fixico, Donnie Moore, Mick Clary, and Jesse Howard.

Honorary bearers will be: Terry K. Davis, Larry Simmons, Chuck Hooper, Bernie Augustine, and Tom Ledgerwood.

China Davis

Graveside services for Wewoka resident China B. Davis were held today at 11 a.m. at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka with Rev. B.G. Renfro of Parker’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Services are under the direction of Myers Mortuary, Wewoka.

Davis, 83, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006 at Elmwood Nursing Home, Wewoka. She was born Feb. 2, 1942 in Nobletown Community, Wewoka to Henry Madkins and Berlene Davis.

She enjoyed cooking and had worked most of her life until her health began to fail. Davis is a former employee of Julia’s Café, Claybrook Cleaners, Aldridge Hotel and Tinker Air Force Base.

Davis was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, where she attended regularly until her failing health.

Her parents; two daughters, Cassandra Davis and Shermaine Thompson; three brothers, Floyd Perry, Roy Madkins and Howard Davis and one sister, Sylene Davis preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sons, Alphonso (Billy) Graham, Franklin (Bobo) Gray, both of Wewoka and Oscar (Tojoe) Gray of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Hazel Banks of Seminole, Betty Alexander of Wewoka and Brenda James of Choctaw; sister, Jessie Gray of Wewoka; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
