VERNA B. WEYANT
A memorial service was held for Verna B. Weyant, 69, of Turkey Hill Road, Caernarvon Township, Lancaster County, who died April 9 in Lancaster Regional Medical Center.
Her husband, Henry Weyant, died in 2001.
Born in Brecknock Township, she was employed for 40 years as a nurse by Jeanes Hospital, Philadelphia, retiring in 1999.
She was a member of Pine Grove Mennonite Church, Bowmansville, Lancaster County.
Surviving are three sisters.
Burial was private in Bowmansville Mennonite Cemetery .The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill, Lancaster County, handled the arrangements.

ANNA ELIZABETH ZERR
Private services were held for Anna Elizabeth (Bucher) Zerr, 92, of Haycreek Road, in Robeson, who died April 9 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center in West Reading.
She was the wife of George William Zerr.
Born in Lititz, she was a homemaker.
Zerr was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Geigertown.
Surviving with her widower are a son, J. George Zerr of Geigertown; a sister; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Burial was in St. Paul’s United Methodist Cemetery in Geigertown.
The Dengler Funeral Home, Birdsboro, handled the arrangements.

REBECCA A. POORE
Services will be Wednesday for Rebecca A. Poore, 31, of Stonetown Road, Exeter Township, formerly of Magnolia Avenue, Riverview Park, who died April 12 in her residence.
She was the wife of Alan J. Poore.
Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of Rose A. (Wert) Ruggiero, Spring Township, and the late Joseph M. Ruggiero.
She had been employed since 1995 in the Early Intervention Department of the Berks County Intermediate Unit.
She was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Tuckerton.
Poore was a 1990 graduate of Muhlenberg High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology in 1994 and a master’s degree in reading education in 2000, both from Kutztown University.
She is also survived by her maternal grandfather, C. Benton Wert, Temple, and a brother, Joseph M. Ruggiero, Exeter Township.
She was predeceased by twin daughters in July.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Good Shepherd United Church of Christ.
Burial will be in the church Cemetery .
The Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale, is in charge of the arrangements.

FREDERICK E. HARNER
Services were held for Frederick E. Harner, 78, of Stonetown Road, Exeter Township, who died April 11 in the Reading Hospital.
He was the husband of Arlene L. (Wenger) Harner.
Born in Exeter Township, he was the owner and operator of Exeter Backhoe Inc., Exeter Township, from 1965 until his retirement in 1982.
He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.
Harner is also survived by three daughters: Linda L. (Harner) Riggs, Newark, Del.; Cheryl A. Harner, Norristown; and Janet S. (Harner) Diniz, New Albany, Ind.
Other survivors include a brother and three grandchildren.
Burial was in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Rieffton.
The Lutz Funeral Home Inc., Mount Penn, handled the arrangements.

BRIDGET A. SHIREY
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday for Bridget A. Shirey, 62, of Rosemead Avenue, South Heidelberg Township, who died April 11 in Reading Hospital.
She was the wife of Lee A. Shirey.
Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of Bernard J. Elzer, Wernersville, and the late Mary (O’Reilly) Elzer.
Shirey was employed as a preschool teacher by Twin Valley, retiring in 1971.
She was a 1958 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a 1962 graduate of Marywood College, Scranton.
Shirey was past president of the Wernersville Elementary Parent-Teachers Organization and served on the Conrad Weiser Boosters Club board of directors from 1985 until 1989.
She is also survived by a son, Lee M., Lincoln Park, a brother, and a granddaughter.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.
Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery , Laureldale.
The arrangements are being handled by the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading.

ROBERT D. GILL
Private services were held for Robert D. Gill, 78, husband of Barbara A. (Barr) Gill and widower of Rebecca (Stallings) Gill, formerly of Douglassville and Phoenixville, who died April 11 in the Sanatoga Center.
Born in Birchrunville, he graduated from Phoenixville High School.
He was a self-employed carpenter.
He also served as an electrician’s mate in the Navy during World War II.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Carol Anthony of Pottstown, Susan Gill of Bechtelsville and Becky Jo Rose of Norristown; three sons, Robert Gill of Trappe, William Gill of Pottstown and David Gill of Phoenixville; three stepdaughters, Laura New of Boyertown, Judith Thomas of Pottstown and Beverly Mauger of Vancouver, Wash.; one stepson, Brian Mauger of Pottstown; a sister, Eleanor Davis of Hatfield; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother; two sisters and a grandson.
Contributions may be made to the Sanatoga Center, 225 Evergreen Road, Sanatoga, PA 19464.
The arrangements were handled by the Ruggiero Funeral Home, Trappe.

LAURA A. YODER
Services were held for Laura A. Yoder, 78, of Euclid Avenue, Temple, who died June 10 in her residence.
She was the widow of John J. Yoder, who died in 1992.
Born in Caernarvon Township, she had been employed by Karl Lieberknecht Inc., Laureldale, and was last employed as a secretary by Eckert Brothers, Temple, until her retirement.
She was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, Temple.
She was also a past treasurer of the auxiliary of the Temple Fire Company.
Surviving are a son, Randy A., with whom she last resided, and a granddaughter.
Burial was in Laureldale Cemetery , Tuckerton.
The Milkins Funeral Home Inc., Temple, handled the arrangements.

JOYCE M. KILLIAN
Services were held for Joyce M. Killian, 81, formerly of Fire Tower Road, Geigertown, who died June 10 in the residence of a daughter, Bonnie J. (Killian) Hammond, Greenway Terrace.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred L. Killian in 2002.
Killian and her husband were owners-operators for 35 years of Lincoln Plumbing & Heating Co., and was a former officer of the Reading Suburban Association of Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Contractors.
She was also the owner of Joy’s Bath Boutique, Reading, retiring in 1985.
Born in Reading, Killian was a member of Christ (Yocom) Lutheran Church, Grill.
She was a graduate of Reading High School.
Killian is also survived by another daughter, Sharon A. (Killian) Kendall, Mohnton.
Other survivors include four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
The Bean Funeral Homes Inc., Shillington, was in charge of the arrangements.

JOHN J. NORRIS
Funeral services were held for John J. Norris, 96, of Unionville Road, Douglassville, who died June 11 in the Sanatoga Center.
He was the widower of Miriam (Yocum) Norris.
Born in Huntington County, he was employed by the former Flaggs Fittings Co., Stowe, he also farmed and operated a saw mill before retiring from Wayne’s Feed where he worked as a truck driver.
He was a member of the Coventry Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are two sons, Russell H. Norris and Donald W. Norris, both of Douglassville, seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by one son; a sister and a brother.
Contributions may be made to the Coventry Church of the Brethren, 946 Keen Road, Pottstown, PA 19465.
Burial was in the Temple Methodist Cemetery .
The arrangements were handled by the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Pottstown.

FRANCES O. MCCOY
Services were held for Frances O. McCoy,, 78, of Clinton Drive, Robeson Township, formerly of Mount Holly Springs, Cumberland County, who died June 10 in HealthSouth Reading Rehabilitation Hospital, Cumru Township.
She was predeceased by her husband, Glenn S. McCoy.
Born in Swedesboro, N.J., she was employed for many years as an office clerk by Masland Associates Inc., Carlisle, until her retirement.
She was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School, Cumberland County.
Surviving are a daughter, Jill (McCoy) Clepper, Kernersville, N.C.; and two sons, Gary, with whom she last resided, and Joseph, Mohnton.
Other survivors include two sisters; a brother; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Mount Holly Springs Cemetery .
The Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, handled the arrangements.
