Clyde W. Basinger
Clyde W. Basinger, 70, of Connellsville, passed away Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville. Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Elmer Reamer officiating. Committal and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park with military honors being accorded by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars of Connellsville.

John B. Blanda
John B. Blanda, 82, of Mount Pleasant, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at the home of his daughter in Monroeville. He was born Dec. 28, 1916, in Hecla, a son of the late Adam and Catherine Spirko Blanda. Mr. Blanda was employed as a supervisor for the former Robertshaw Control Co. with 40 years of service. Mr. Blanda was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army 1st armored division from 1941 to 1945. Besides the invasions of North Africa and Anzio, he was involved in four other major battles and campaigns, receiving one silver and five bronze stars. Battles and campaigns included Algeria, French Morocco, Naples-Foggia, North Apennines, Po Valley, Rome-Arno and Tunisia. Mr. Blanda was treasurer of Branch 218 of the First Catholic Slovak Union. He was a member of Visitation Roman Catholic Church of Mount Pleasant. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene Janesko Blanda in 1986. He is survived by his loving children, Iris Petrosky and her husband, John, of West Newton, R.D. 1, Kathryn Vise and her husband, William, of Mount Pleasant, R.D. 5, Patricia McHugh and her husband, Michael, of Monroeville; grandchildren, Joel Petrosky, Christian Vise and Karah Vise; great-grandchildren, Zachary Petrosky and Nicholas Petrosky; a brother, Joseph Blanda and his wife, Violet, of Hecla; sisters, Helen Bechtell Allen and her husband, William, of Pittsburgh, Mary Kocan also of Pittsburgh, Christine Huchko of Hecla. In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine Blanda, Anna Kalinyak and Margaret Parfitt. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at GALONE-CARUSOÕS, 204 Eagle St., Mount Pleasant. A mass will be held at Visitation RC Church, Mount Pleasant, Thursday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Anthony W. Ditto officiating. Interment will follow in Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, with full military rites accorded by American Legion Post 446.

Doris Burnsworth
Doris Burnsworth, 73, of Connellsville, died today, Oct. 5, 1999, in Highlands Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville, and will be announced when completed.

Joseph Gorski
Joseph Raymond Gorski, 76, of 288 Frieden Manor, Schuylkill Haven, Pa., formerly of Republic, died Sunday morning, Oct. 3, 1999, at his residence. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., 418 N. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, where a blessing service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity RC Church, Connellsville, with the Rev. Fr. Benjamin Babula as celebrant. Interment will follow with full military rites in Holy Trinity RC Cemetery, Connellsville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity RC Church, 109 N. 7th St., Connellsville.

Shirley A. Kromer
Shirley A. Kromer, 64, of Connellsville, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. Friends will be received at the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, today from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Hans O. Andrae officiating.

Edith Kurtz
Edith Jean Kurtz, 86, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, in Harmon House, Mount Pleasant. Friends will be received at the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME, INC., Main Street, Mount Pleasant, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held Thursday in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Sherry Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the St. JohnÕs Union Cemetery.

April D. Lint
April D. Lint, 20, of Hunker, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, in the Frick Hospital, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, today from 3 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of a funeral service in the funeral home with Robert Swank officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Greenlick Cemetery, Bullskin Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.

Robert O. Lowman
Robert O. Lowman, 82, of R.D. 5, Latrobe, died Monday morning, Oct. 4, 1999, at his residence. RobertÕs family will receive friends in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe, today from 1 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Aimee Twigg, his pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. Military honors will be accorded Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home by the American Legion Post 515, Latrobe. The family suggests memorials be made to the Latrobe United Methodist Church or to a charity of ones choice, in memory of Robert O. Lowman. Arrangements are under the direction of the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale.

Patricia Whaley
Patricia Whaley, 69, of Eichers Family Home, Normalville, died early Tuesday morning, Oct. 5, 1999. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale and will be announced when completed.

James C. Ferguson
James C. Ferguson, 62, of Ruffsdale, died early this morning, Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at his home. Arrangements are under the direction of the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, and will be announced when completed.

Earl A. Henkel Sr.
Earl A. Henkel Sr., 80, of Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant. He was born July 9, 1919, in Pennsville, a son of the late Henry and Bertha Swain Henkel. Mr. Henkel was a coal miner for more than 47 years for U.S. Steel, Maple Creek Mine, and was a member of UMW of America. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Betty Jane Rodgers Henkel, in 1998. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his children, Earl H. Henkel Jr. and his wife, Malinda, of Mount Pleasant; and Robert A. Henkel of Arizona; and two grandsons, David and Scott Henkel of Connecticut. Hours of visitation at GALONE-CARUSOÕS, Mount Pleasant, were private. Services, with the Rev. Terry V. Murray officiating, were private. Interment followed in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.

Mary R. Diveley Pritts
Mary R. Diveley Pritts, 81, of Mount Pleasant, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, in Mt. Gilead, Ohio. She was born Sept. 12, 1918, in Aberdeen, S.D., a daughter of the late Merl D. and Gladys Njos Diveley. She was a member of Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren. Mary was a graduate of Meyersdale High School, Class of 1936. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold O. Pritts, in 1984, and a brother, Merl D. Diveley, in 1997. She is survived by two sons, Wayne Pritts of Villa Ridge, Mo., and Merl Pritts and his wife, Fay, of Mount Pleasant; a daughter, Karen Goswick and her husband, Arthur, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; a brother, Victor E. Diveley and his wife, Priscilla, of North Scituate, R.I.; three sisters, Esther Johnson of Garrett, Pa., Betty Bungard of Meyersdale, Pa., and Helen Wagner of Salisbury, Pa.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mount Pleasant, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Durward E. Hays and the Rev. Charles D. Whipple co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.

Martha Puskarich
Martha (Gerloff) Puskarich, 95, of Uniontown, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, in Cherry Tree Nursing Center. She was born May 1, 1904, in Westmoreland County, daughter of the late Charles and Cora Gerloff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Puskarich Sr., who was a former tax collector for South Union Township; her son, Paul T. Puskarich, who was killed in action during World War II; and a son-in-law, Fred Shandorf. She was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Frances Shandorf of Everson, Anthony J. Puskarich Jr., and his wife, Ann, of Euclid, Ohio, and Elmer R. Puskarich and his wife, Ann, of Uniontown; grandchildren, Mrs. Paula Rosiek, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Puskarich, and Maureen Elias and husband, Tom; great-grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Rosiek, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Rosiek, Mr. David Rosiek, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Puskarich, and Jennifer Puskarich. Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., 139 W. Fayette St., Uniontown, today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, until 10:30 a.m., when a blessing service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m., in St. Mary (Nativity) RC Church. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. A parish wake service 8 p.m. today.

Nova R. Show
Nova R. Show, 89, of Mill Run went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999. She was born Dec. 16, 1909, in Mill Run, a daughter of the late Charles and Hattie Shearer Dull. She was a lifelong member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church, Mill Run. She is survived by five children: Jan Show and his wife, Donna, of Mill Run, Marleen Collins and her husband, Daniel Jack, of Somerset, Connie Oie and her husband, Gordon, of Milwaukee, Wis., Loren Show of Laytonsville, Md. and Kay Clark and her hsuband, Marshall, of Normalville; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruah Bradley of Normalville, Martha McLaughlin and her husband, Mac, of Shippensburg and Betty Hawkins and her husband, T.J., of Mill Run. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leigh Show, in 1978; two brothers, Lester and John Dull and two sisters, Edna Bigam and Bertha Kooser. Friends will be received at the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, today from 2 to 9 p.m. Additional viewing will take place Saturday in the Indian Creek Baptist Church, Mill Run, from noon until 1:30 p.m., the hour of funeral services in the church with the Rev. John Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery, Mill Run.

David V. Yoder
David V. Yoder, 83, of Smock, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, in Uniontown Hospital. Friends will be received at the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Walls officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlick Cemetery, Bullskin Township.

Gregory "Eggie" A. Egnot
Gregory "Eggie" A. Egnot, age 42, of Uniontown, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, in Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born April 9, 1957, in Uniontown, the son of John P. Egnot and Anne Csmos Egnot. Greg was preceded in death by his father. He was a member of St. John The Byzantine Catholic Church. Surviving are his beloved mother, Anne Egnot of Oliver: brothers, John W. Egnot and wife, Susan of Cresson and Robert D. Egnot and wife, Linda of Indiana; nephews, John W. Egnot Jr., Robert S. Egnot and nieces, Melissa Poniatowski and Lyndsay Egnot. Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME, at 71 Pennsylvania Ave., Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and on Saturday until 10:30 a.m. when a blessing service will be held followed by an 11 a.m. divine liturgy in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Richard Whettstone as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John Byzantine Church Cemetery, Hopwood. Parastas today at 3 p.m.

Agnes L. Barlek
Agnes L. Barlek, of Baden, Pa., died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, in The Valley Care Masonic Center, Aleppo Township, following an extended illness. She was the widow of Michael Barlek, who preceded her in death in 1995, and the daughter of the late William and Stella Russell. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, John Michael Barlek in 1986 and Dearrel and Kenneth Leonard and a daughter, Shelley Rae Barlek, in 1992. Surviving are two sons, Glenn Leonard of Connellsville and Bruce Leonard of Dunbar. Also surviving are two sisters, June Costello of Uniontown and Mickey Levato of Ambridge and one brother, William Russell of Chesterland, Ohio. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home this evening at 8:30 p.m. A private interment will follow in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Dunbar.
