Claretta M. Ellis
Claretta M. Ellis, 70, of Columbus, Ga., and formerly of Oliphant Furnace, Pa., and the Uniontown area, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, in St. Frances Hospital, Columbus, Ga.
She was born Jan. 21, 1930, in Oliphant Furnace, Pa., daughter of the late Kent Robinson and Etta Robinson Stubblefield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Robinson.
Surviving are her husband, Robert "Duke" Ellis of Columbus, Ga.; one sister, Barbara Sowell of Detroit, Mich.; one brother, Ronald "Jap" Robinson of Uniontown, Pa.; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services are incomplete and will be announced later by the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main St., Uniontown, Pa.

Florence A. Fritsky
Florence Alberta Fritsky, 87, of Connellsville, Pa., passed away quietly on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at home, with her family at her bedside.
She was born Nov. 24, 1913, in Owensdale, Pa., a daughter of the late John Henry and Minnie Bertha Ottenburgh Robaugh.
She retired as a custodian for the Carnegie Free Library. She was the cook for many years for the Connellsville Lions and Kiwanis Clubs.
She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Connellsville, for 40 years, where she was the child care attendant during Sunday services.
Surviving are a son, John Fritsky Jr., of Connellsville; four daughters, Alberta Ann Everette and Nancy Jane Fritsky, both of Connellsville, Mrs. Robert (Mary Jean) Harris of Rossville, Ill., and Mrs. Dave (Judy Diane) Homer of Vanderbilt; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter; sisters, Evelyn Mae (Robaugh) Garula of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mrs. Kenneth (Verna Ruth Raupach) Krause of Dilliner, Pa.; and a special friend, Charlene Nickelson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Reinold J. Raupach; her husband, John Fritsky Sr., on June 25, 1950; brothers, Walter "Toots" Robaugh, Frederick Albert Robaugh, Francis Robaugh, Henry Sherman Raupach, William Ray Raupach and William Lester Raupach; sisters, Edna Robaugh, Bertha Louise Stoner and Clara Hazel Harshman; a grandson, Patsy Raymond Virgillo Jr.; and a great-grandson, Charles Denzel Shahan.
Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green St., Connellsville, today and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at 2 p.m., in the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Moskowitz, officiating. Interment will follow in the Scottdale Cemetery, Scottdale.

Beatrice R. Hicks
Beatrice R. Cain Hicks, 53, of Columbus, Ohio, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000.
She graduated from Uniontown Senior High School, Class of 1966, retired from the Neil House Hotel, was a member of the Senior Choir, and faithfully attended noonday service at Jordan Baptist Church until her illness. She was also a member of Godman Guild and Northside Development Corporation.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Francis M. Hicks; and parents, Lindsay and Rebecca Braddee Cain.
She is survived by sisters, Wanda E. Lin of Columbus, Cinda R. Hardin of Uniontown, Pa., and Goldie F. Robinson of Chalk Hill, Pa.; sisters-in-law, Betty Hicks of Brownfield, Pa., and Arlene Cale of Norwalk, Calif.; an aunt, Ethel Blair of New York; some special friends, Minister Barbara Gibbs and Deaconess Janet White and her church family, the Rev. Wayne T. Lee Jr., Pastor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 East Broad St., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., the hour of service. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.

Naomi R. Kalp
Naomi R. Kalp, 74, of Ruffsdale, died Tuesday, in UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland.
Her husband, Russell I. Kalp Jr.; two sons, Russell J. Kalp Sr. of DuBois and Russell J Kalp Jr. of Ruffsdale; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Connie) May of Lewisburg, Pa. and Mrs. Edward (Thelma) Janicky of Scottdale; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Leota Fulmer of Ruffsdale and a half sister, Kathryn Bowman, survive her.
Friends will be received at Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 406 E. Washington St., Mount Pleasant, today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and until 11 a.m. Saturday.

Frank J. Kayla
Frank J. Kayla, 78, of Waynesburg, Pa., died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, following a long illness.
While living in Fayette County, he and his wife owned and operated a grocery store at Layton. He later moved to Waynesburg, where he managed the Waynesburg Branch of Nickles Bakery. Following his retirement, her owned and operated the Highway Superette in Carmichaels.
Surviving are his wife, Marie Louise Chupella Kayla; one daughter, Carolyn Jovan of Irwin; two sons, Julius A. Kayla and Robert F. Kayla, both of Waynesburg; and eight grandchildren.
Private Services were held on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, in Waynesburg.

Guy A. Miller
Guy A. Miller, 77, of Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, Nov, 28, 2000, in Bon Secours Holy Family Hospital, after an extended illness.
He was born June 16, 1923, in Smock, Pa., son of the late Joseph H. and Jenny Agnes Gettemy Miller.
He was a salesman for Union Supply Company.
Mr. Miller graduated from Uniontown High School, Class of 1942, attended Uniontown Machinist Trade School, served in the Army during World War II, and was in the European and African Campaigns. He also received four Bronze Stars.
Surviving are several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He is the last member of the Miller family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Minnie J. Doppelhaeur, Etta Miller and Sarah O. Capranica; and three brothers, J. H. Miller Jr., Lawrence H. Miller and James Miller.
At the request of the family, there will be no public viewing. Interment to be in Florida at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were handled by the SCAGLIONE FUNERAL HOME, Altoona, Pa.

William A. Molton
William A. Molton, 79, of Pittsburgh, Pa., formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, in St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was born April 22, 1921, in Uniontown, a son of the late Harry A. and Nellie Wilson Molton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine June Curry Molton; and a brother, Harold Molton.
Surviving are two daughters, Farley Greening and her husband, Mark of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Stacy Molton Harmon Esq., and her husband, Richard Harmon Esq., of Darien, Conn.; and two grandchildren, Curry Harmon and Wesley Greening.
Mr. Molton graduated from Carnegie Mellon University, was a Sea Bee with the U.S. Navy in World War II, and was later employed as an electrical engineer with Bell Telephone for 44 years.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating. Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Mausoleum, with military honors being accorded by American Legion Post 51, and North Union VFW Post 8543.

Evelena Moser
Evelena Fike Moser, 88, of (Whitehouse),Smithfield, Pa., died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born June 17, 1912, in Friendsville, Md., daughter of the late John R. Fike and Mollie Lytle Fike.
In addition to her parents, Evelena was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Moser; three brothers; and three sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was a member of the Christian Church of Friendsville, Md.
Surviving are seven children, John G. Moser and wife, Delores of McClellandtown, Pa., Lelia Moser, at home, Helen Dillow and husband, Gerald of Smithfield R.D. 1, Pa., Betty Miller of Smithfield, James Moser of Smithfield R.D. 1, Mary Lou Kelley and husband, John of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Linda Kinney of Quartzsite, Ariz.; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; ten great great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church St., Fairchance, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, until 2 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Wayne Sawyer and the Rev. George McLaughlin officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.

Alice M. Phelan
Alice Marie Phelan, 83, of Uniontown, Pa., died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, in Mount Macrina Manor.
She was born June 4, 1917, in Nicholson Township, Fayette County.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Harry E. and Margaret McCain Springer Sr.; and a brother, John F. Springer.
Surviving are four children, William Francis Phelan and his wife, Louise, Duane Phelan, Sondra Tekavec and her husband, Don and Ronald Neil Phelan and his wife, Janet, all of Uniontown; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, William Springer of Euclid, Ohio, and Harry Springer and his wife, Ann of Uniontown.
Mrs. Phelan was formerly employed as a teacher’s aide with the Intermediate Unit 1 for ten years.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, today until 10 a.m., the hour of service. Interment will follow in Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery.

Catharine T. Post
Catharine T. Post, 82, of Market Street, Clarksville, Pa., died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, at 3:30 p.m., in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born Jan. 28, 1918, in Clarksville, a daughter of D. J. and Nellie Beglin Turner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Warren, John and Darrell Turner and an infant brother, Daniel Turner; and three sisters, Betty Jane Martin, Evelyn Wilkinson and Annabelle Hackney.
Mrs. Post was a lifelong member of Clarksville Christian Church, where she was honored as deaconess emeritus.
She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and worked as a beautician for several years. She was also a nutrition aide for Penn State Extension Service.
Mrs. Post was a member of Beth Center Senior Citizens of Vestaburg, and a charter member of Lady Clark Rebekah Lodge of Clarksville.
On Oct 18, 1947, she married Robert L. Post, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Donna Booza of Clarksville; a son, William R. Post of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Trent and Kaylee Booza; one brother, Leroy Turner of Midland, Pa.; two sisters, Bertha Foley and June Dowlin, both of Clarksville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, Fredericktown Hill, 42 Bank St., Fredericktown, today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of services, with the Rev. Norman Hunt and the Rev. Robert Groves officiating. Interment will be held in Jefferson Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Clarksville Christian Church or Carmichaels First Christian Church.

Charles Sabo
Charles Sabo, 78, of McClellandtown, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, in Mount Macrina Manor.
He was born April 24, 1922, in New Salem, Pa., son of the late Charles and Anna Berdar Sabo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda; and two sisters, Annie Gazella and Ann Panuta.
Charles was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army, a member of the UMWA District 2, Local 6321, and a retired employee from U.S. Steel at the Robena Mine.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Spirnak Sabo; three children, Charles Sabo and Lyn, Charles serves with the USAF at the Langley Air Force Base, Virginia Beach, Va., and Susan Papa and Phillip and Michael Sabo and Terry, all of McClellandtown; five grandchildren, Charles David and Daniel Edward Sabo, Stacey and Stefani Papa and Michael Sabo; four sisters and two brothers, Sophie Wydo of Uniontown, Helen Karwatske of Messmore, Julia Barnhart of McClellandtown, Mike Sabo of Binghamton, N.Y., and Margaret Willis and John Sabo, both of McClellandtown.
Funeral arrangements were private and were under the direction of the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem. Interment followed in Trinity Orthodox Cemetery, New Salem.
