Bertha Hammond Huber, 85, of California, Pa., died Saturday, March 24, 2001.
She was born August 28, 1915, in Newell, Pa., daughter of William Hammond and Elizabeth McCartney Hammond.
She was a retired teacher’s aide from the Intermediate Unit.
Three sisters, Alvaretta McCoullough, Pearl Reynard, Mary Jane Hammond, a nephew, William Hammond, and her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brother, John Hammond; two nephews: Paul Reynard and John A. Hammond; and special cousin, Ester Mickulicz.
Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, March 29, until 11 a.m. when Services will be held with Rev. Art Mace officiating.
Interment will follow in Phillipsburg Cemetery.

Charles W. Hunter
Charles W. Hunter, 64, of Delmont, Pa., a 36-year member of the Delmont Volunteer Fire Department, who was born in Detroit, Michigan, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Nancy J. Staggers Hunter; children: Susan J. Hunter Harrold and her husband, Raymond Harrold, of Delmont and Charles David Hunter and his fiancee, Kimberly Baker, of Greensburg, Pa.; aunts: Mamie Steffy Earnest of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Virginia Maxwell Earnest of Greensburg R.D.9, Pa.; brother-in-law, Marvin L. Staggers and his wife, Anna Catherine, of Alverton, Pa.; two nieces; one grandnephew; and a number of cousins.
The family will receive friends at the John L. Bash Funeral Home, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday until 11 a.m.

Lola Finley Lowe
Lola V. Finley Lowe, 92, of East Huntingdon Township, Scottdale R.D.1, Pa., who loving raised her family and worked with her husband, Clyde, on their farm, died Sunday morning, March 25, 2001, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, Pa.
She is survived by three children: Vera B. Lowe McClain, Althea M. Lowe Rhodes, and Wally L. Lowe and his wife, Dori Fry Lowe, and a daughter-in-law, Phyllis J. Raymond Lowe, all of Scottdale R.D.1; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family.
Family and friends will be received at the Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home, 105 Spring Street, Scottdale, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 28, in Wesley Chapel Untied Methodist Church, Reagantown, Pa., at 11 a.m.

Olympia M. Luckey
Olympia M. Bussoletti Luckey, 77, of Dunbar, Pa., died Saturday March 24, 2001, in Beverly HealthCare, Uniontown.
She was born January 8, 1924, in Dunbar, Pa.
She was retired from Keystone Fireworks Company where she had worked for over 26 years.
Her parents, Augostino Bussoletti and Mary Tomino Bussoletti, her husband, Robert George Luckey, a daughter, Jeanne Marie Luckey, a sister, Kate, and a brother, John, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeanne and her husband, Steve Ganoe, of Point Marion, Pa.; a son, Robert A. Luckey and his wife, Norma Jean, of LaFayette, Louisiana; two grandsons: Barry Ganoe and Bobby Luckey; a granddaughter, Michelle Luckey; and sisters: Margaret Cirillo of Champion, Pa., Eileen Ewing of Detroit, Michigan, and Edith Rihtarcik of Fayette City, Pa.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 28, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.

Mary Ellen Welsh Matthews McNutt
Mary Ellen Welsh Matthews McNutt, 92, of Mount Independence, Pa., peacefully went to be with The Lord on Friday, March 23, 2001. She had been a resident of Weaver Personal Care Home for the last several years and was a longtime resident of North Union Township.
She was born February 5, 1909, in Nubbin Ridge, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Harford Alan Welsh and Nancy Agnes Evans Welsh.
Mrs. McNutt was the oldest member of Cove Run Free Methodist Church and previously worked in the Housekeeping Department at Jumonville Training Center.
Her first husband, Walter Matthews Sr., died May 11, 1959. Her second husband, Fred McNutt, died February 22, 1982. A son, William Harry Matthews, died November 4, 1931. Also deceased are four sisters, Stella "Ted" Bailey, Jessie Welsh, Lena Ward, Verda Welsh, one brother, Earl "Farmer" Welsh, and her parents. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Surviving are five sons: Dale Matthews and his wife, Gail, of Mount Braddock, Pa., Charles "Ted" Matthews and his wife, Wanda, of Mount Independence, Walter "Junior" Matthews and his wife, Shirley, of Mount Independence, Emmett D. Matthews and his wife, Mary Jane, of Mount Braddock, and Russell W. Matthews of Mount Independence; nine grandchildren: Theodore W. Matthews, Timothy L. Matthews, James V. Matthews and Gerald D. Matthews all of Mount Independence, Darcia L. Klippi of Connellsville, Pa., Susan J. Matthews of Mount Braddock, Gregory D. Matthews of Pittsburgh, Pa., Emmett G. Matthews of Tucson, Arizona, David L. Matthews of Houston, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Rose Marie "Sis" Matthews of Mount Independence; a brother-in-law, Charles McNutt of Canton, Ohio; several first cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Visitation continues Tuesday, March 27, in Cove Run Free Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Roger Yeager and Rev. Eugene Cowsert officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
Visitation was also held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Freeda H. Morris
Freeda H. Morris, 89, of Perryopolis, Pa., died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at 11:10 p.m. in Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown.
Arrangements will be announced by the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home Inc., 106 East Independence Street, Perryopolis.

Dr. Lester R. Moston
Dr. Lester T. Moston, 94, of Hawthorne Woods, Washington, Pa., and formerly of Second Avenue, Waynesburg, Pa., who was born in Albany, New York, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, in Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa.
Dr. Moston, who was a Professor of Mathematics at Waynesburg College and had also served as Dean of Men, Academic Vice President, and Dean of the College, received his Bachelor Arts Degree from Union College in Schenectady, New York, and both his Masters of Arts Degree and his Ph.D. from Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts.
He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Daniel (Carol) Corwin of Waynesburg, Pa., and Mrs. Daniel (Alice) Greenlee of Wintersville, Ohio; two sons: Robert P. Moston of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Lawrence E. Moston of Rockville, Maryland; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was the last remaining member of his immediate family.
The family will receive friends at the Behm Funeral Home Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, Pa., on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 28, until 11 a.m.

Agnes Sauers Stauft
Agnes Marie Sauers Stauft, 88, of Sarasota, Florida, and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Sunday, March 25, 2001, in Vencor Hospital, St. Petersburg, Florida.
Arrangements are in the care of the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa., and will be announced.

Marie Catherine Brown Stewart
Marie Catherine Brown Stewart, 74, of Brownsville, Pa., died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at her home.
Born August 11, 1926, in Brownsville, Pa., she was the daughter of John Brown and Catherine Oravitz Brown.
Marie was a member of Dunlap Creek United Presbyterian Church.
A sister, Yvonne Long, and her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Ernest William Stewart; sons: Tom Stewart and his wife, Rose Anne, of Monongahela, Pa., and Harley W. Stewart and his wife, Mary Lee, of Brownsville; daughter, Mary Lou and her husband, John Hoosac, of Brownsville; granddaughters: Sherrie Anne Mosley and her husband, Jim, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Janell Stewart of Monongahela; great-granddaughter, Haley Rose Marie Mosley at home; and a brother, George W. Brown and his wife, Priscilla, of Pensacola, Florida.
The family will receive friends in the CONFER FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, March 27, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m.
Funeral Services will then be conducted by the Rev. Gail E. Mason of Hopewell United Presbyterian Church, Brownsville.
Private burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

Mary Shimko Zitney
Mary Shimko Zitney, 97, of Herbert, Pa., passed away Thursday, March 22, 2001, in her home.
She was born December 8, 1903, in Buffington, Pa., daughter of John Shimko and Mary Gletka Shimko.
Mary was a member of St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church in Footedale.
Nine brothers and sisters, John Shimko, Helen Gido, George Shimko, Annie Krejci, George, Steve, Pete, Katie and Emma Shimko, and her parents preceded her in death. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Tuesday, March 27, at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Footedale, with Rev. Fr. James L. Popochock as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Mary Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery, New Salem, Pa.
Parish Wake Service will be held today at 3:30 p.m.

Mary Lou Acklin Bohatch
Mary Lou Acklin Bohatch, 57, of Allison One, Pa., died on Friday evening, September 28, 2001, in the Brownsville General Hospital.
She was born on December 4, 1943, in Brownsville, Pa., daughter of John Acklin and Adeline Redmond Acklin.
A sister, Phyllis Swogger, and her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew R. Bohatch; four children: Richard Bohatch and his wife Marianne, Cleveland, Ohio, Gerry Bohatch and his wife Tonya, Allison One, Pa., Sheila Martin and Michael Grnya of Allison One, Pa., Christy and her husband Thomas Tiernan, Allison One, Pa.; five grandchildren: Lori Martin, Amanda Bohatch, Thomas Tiernan, Dale Bohatch, and Bryan Bohatch; also several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, October 4, until 10 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
Funeral Services will follow at 10:30 a.m. in First United Methodist Church, Brownsville, Pa., with Rev. Paul E. Wilson Sr. officiating.
Interment follows in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
Visitation was also held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
