Dr. Edward J. Patterson
Clinical Psychologist Dr. Edward J. Patterson, Ph.D., 80, of Waynesburg, Pa., retired Professor and Department Head at Waynesburg College who set up the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and also the Mental Health Units at both Westmoreland Regional Hospital in Greensburg, Pa., and Frick Hospital in Mount Pleasant, Pa., died Sunday, September 30, 2001, at home.
On September 23, 1988, he married Anna Louise Cree Patterson, who survives. Also surviving are sons: Dr. Britt Patterson of Chambersburg, Pa., and Grady Patterson of Westfield, Massachusetts; daughter, Mrs. Megan Patterson Reynolds of Jeffersonton, Virginia; grandchildren: Clay Patterson, Luke Patterson and Martha "Mattie" Reynolds; a sister, Patricia Patterson Higley of Harrisburg, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Behm Funeral Home Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, October 3, until 11 a.m.

Betty Silbaugh Riggin
Betty J. Silbaugh Riggin, 79, of Uniontown, Pa., died Saturday, September 29, 2001, in Highlands Hospital.
She was born January 24, 1922, in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of Alvie Silbaugh and Caroline Roebuck Silbaugh.
Her husband, Ewing Riggin, a brother, Alvie "Jack" Silbaugh, a sister, Cathryn Torrance, and her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca and her husband, John Hawk Jr., of Lemont Furnace, Pa.; two sons: Alvie Riggin and his wife, Shirley, and Eugene Riggin and his wife, Bonnie, all of Uniontown; granddaughters: Barbara Zorichak and Beverly Rohland; great-grandchildren: Serena Rohland and Callan Rohland; four sisters and one brother: Grace Bauman of Battle Creek, Michigan, Martha Fitzpatrick and her husband, Charles, of Carlisle, Pa., Ralph Silbaugh, Lazetta Sidwell and Darlene Smith and her husband, Earl, all of Connellsville, Pa.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, October 3, until 10 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. R. Scott Teets officiating.
Interment follows in Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Laurel Hill, Pa.

Charles G. VanHorn Sr.
Charles G. "Jerry" VanHorn Sr., 55, of Evanstown, Irwin, Pa., retired Pennsylvania State Trooper with numerous commendations for his investigative abilities, graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 1969, a U.S. Marshall, and graduate of Penn State University, died Friday, September 28, 2001, in his home.
He is survived by his mother, Jean L. Herrod Karr of Evanstown, Irwin, Pa.; his second wife of 32 years, Sue A. Hewitt VanHorn; children: Charles G. "Jerry" VanHorn Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Greensburg, Pa., Gretchen L. VanHorn at home and Michelle VanHorn Mixell of Philadelphia, Pa.; grandchildren: Zachary Robert VanHorn and Desiree Miriah VanHorn; sisters: Sandra Stark of North Huntingdon, Pa., Cindy Brown of Murrysville, Pa., and Deborah Jablonsky of Greensburg, Pa.; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends are invited to join with his Family for a Memorial Service which will be held Tuesday, October 2, at 7 p.m. in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Arona, Pa. Arrangements are under direction of the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home Inc., Madison, Pa.

Ervin R. Brown
Ervin R. Brown, 58, of McKees Rocks, Pa., and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, in Johnstown, Pa.
He was born July 4, 1942, in Uniontown, Pa., son of the late Nellie L. Brown and Ravine Goldsmith.
He was a member of Mount Moriah F.&A.M. Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Brown of Uniontown, Pa.; two sons: Eric Brown of Uniontown and Stevie Brown of California; three daughters: Leslie Brown and Karrie Brown both of Detroit, Michigan, and Alice Brown of Ohio; two brothers: Leroy C. Brown of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Burnett Brown of Uniontown; one sister-in-law, Edna Brown of Decatur, Georgia; his Godmother, Gene Goldsmith of Ohio; one great-aunt, Helen Brown of Uniontown; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews; two special friends: Kerrie Ellis of Johnstown, Pa., and Beaver Harris of Connellsville, Pa.; other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held Wednesday, June 6, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Leonard Tucker officiating.
Interment follows in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.

Georgia Eloise Thompson Tray Cooley, 85, of Haydentown, Pa., and Cape Coral, Florida, died Friday, June 1, 2001, in Cape Coral Hospital, Cape Coral, Florida.
She was born December 20, 1915, in Selbysport, Maryland, daughter of George H. Thompson and Ethel Faucett Thompson.
Her husband, Thomas Barton Cooley, died November 19, 1999. Also deceased are a son, James C. Tray, a brother, Carl Thompson, and her parents.
Surviving are a son, Ronald G. Tray and his wife, Julie, of Chesapeake, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Tray of Greensburg, Pa.; sisters-in-law: Betty Hopwood of Haydentown, Pa., and Sally Cooley of Ohiopyle, Pa.; six grandchildren: Patrick Tray and his wife, Tina, of Woodbridge, Virginia, Rona Donahue, Brian Tray, Kelly Tray, Ronda and her husband Scott Williams, and Stacy Tray of Rome, Italy; and seven great-grandchildren: Brianna Tray, Raven Tray, Quinci Donahue, Page Donahue, Jessi Donahue, Zachary Williams, and Hunter Tray.
The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 6, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. George W. McLaughlin officiating.
Interment will be private.

Anna Louise O’Brien Donovan
Anna Louise O’Brien Donovan, 81, of Uniontown, Pa., died Saturday, June 2, 2001.
Arrangements are in the care of the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa., and will be announced.

Margaret Hart Erler
Margaret L. Hart Erler, 95, of Perryopolis, Pa., died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at 12:35 a.m. in Mount St. Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa.
She was born April 30, 1906, in Connellsville, Pa., daughter of Matthew Hart and Henrietta Sandusky Hart.
Her husband, Michael Erler, five brothers, two grandsons, one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter and two sons: Mrs. Erma Mae Chew of Monongahela, Pa., Melvin L. Erler Sr. and his wife, Connie, of Perryopolis, Pa., and Kenneth J. Erler of Chambersburg, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Matthew Hart and his wife, Myrtle, of Bitner, Pa., William Hart of Santa Ana, California, Francis Hart of Uniontown, Pa., Robert Hart and his wife, Norma, of Irvine, Pa., Emmett Hart and his wife, Mary, of Smock, Pa., Christabell Branthoover of Belle Vernon, Pa., Lorraine Morgan of Finleyville, Pa., Irlean Dragan of Monessen, Pa., and Ethel Mae Ruck and her husband, Harold, of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, June 6, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. James Pond officiating.
Interment will follow in Hill Grove Cemetery, Connellsville, Pa.

Charles R. Evans
Charles R. Evans, 57, of Rostraver Township, who served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, former Operations Manager for Wheaton Truck Lines, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc., Carroll Township, Washington County, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Cunningham Evans; sons: Charles R. Evans II and Jason S. Evans both at home; three sisters; one stepbrother; one aunt, Mrs. Robert (June) Lambert of Charleroi, Pa.; and cousins: Patty Garrick of Monessen, Pa., and Bonnie Bailey of Charleroi, Pa.
Friends were received at the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Sweeney Plan, Rostraver Township, Pa., on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m., the hour of service.

Nathan A. Galderisi
Nathan A. Galderisi, 75, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at Uniontown Hospital.
He was born December 13, 1925, in Lemont Furnace, Pa., son of Carmine Galderisi and Concetta Piatty Galderisi.
Mr. Galderisi was a TV Repairman for the former Service Radio and Electric in Uniontown, Pa., and retired after 43 years of service.
He was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, Veteran of World War II who served in the United States Army in the European Theatre, and a Life Member of V.F.W. Post 47 in Uniontown, V.F.W. National Band, V.F.W. State Band, American Legion Post 51 in Uniontown, and General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 in Hopwood, Pa.
He was a Life Member of The Knights of Columbus Council 1275 and also The Sons of Italy No. 231 in both Uniontown and Perryopolis, Pa., Charter Member of Lemont Furnace Sportsman’s Club, North Union Volunteer Fire Department, and Moose Lodge in Perryopolis.
He formerly played with the Joe Silvo Orchestra and also The Arlington Esquire Orchestra.
He was a Life Member of Musicians Union Local No. 596 in Uniontown.
Two brothers, Dominic Galderisi and Frank Galderisi, two sisters, Margaret Vojacek and Mary K. Hanzes, and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Auberrie Hope Smitley Galderisi; one son, Frank A. Galderisi and his wife, Cheryl, of Uniontown, Pa.; one daughter: Regina Galderisi Yauger and her husband, Ray Yauger, of Roswell, Georgia; four grandchildren: Frank Galderisi and his wife, Angela, of Austin, Texas, Elizabeth and her husband, Ken Tompkins, of Dearborn, Michigan, Ray Yauger Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Robyn and her husband, Ned Kandul, of Alpharetta, Georgia; three great-grandchildren: Jimmy Yauger, McCall Yauger, and Emma Yauger; two brothers: Carmen Galderisi and Joseph Galderisi both of Lemont Furnace, Pa.; also several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., today, June 4, until 9 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, Mill Street, with Rev. Fr. Patrick O’Conner as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, where Full Military Honors will be accorded by Uniontown V.F.W. Post 47.
Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Sons of Italy No. 231 conducted Services in the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Stanley R. Krzton
Stanley R. Krzton, 89, of Baldwin Township, Pittsburgh, Pa., died Saturday, June 2, 2001, in Southside Hospital.
He was born January 13, 1912, in Shoaf, Fayette County, Pa., son of Joseph F. Krzton and Stefania Ksiazek Krzton.
He was a Veteran of World War II who served in the United States Army, retired Draftsman from Salem Brosius Company in Carnegie, Pa., and a member of St. Winifred Roman Catholic Church in Pittsburgh.
Four brothers, infant Andrew, John, Ted, and Edmund Krzton, and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Thelma Pearl Holub Krzton; one brother, William J. Krzton and his wife, Loma, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. John (Wanda) Krzton of Beaver Falls, Pa., and Mrs. Ted (Elsie) Krzton of Uniontown, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 6, until 9 a.m. when a
Blessing Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, with Rev. Fr. Alexander Pleban as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa., where Full Military Honors will be accorded by Uniontown American Legion Post 51 and North Union V.F.W. Post 8543.

Martha J. "DeDe" Franks Mariotti
Martha J. "DeDe" Franks Mariotti, 80, of Republic, Pa., died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at her home.
She was born June 6, 1920, in Allison, Pa., daughter of Enerico Franks and Viola Bellini Franks.
She was a resident of Republic for the past 50 years where she assisted her husband in their business, Mariotti Cleaners.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Republic and Catholic War Veterans in Uniontown.
Her husband, Daniel E. Mariotti, died May 30, 1997. Also deceased are two brothers, Frank and Samuel Franks, two sisters, Alvera Graziani and Antoinette Galie, and her parents.
She is survived by two children: Daniel Mariotti Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Berea, Ohio, and Lisa and her husband, Darwin Stalnaker, of Uniontown, Pa.; two grandchildren: Jessica Mariotti and Douglas Mariotti; two sisters: Mary Monaghan of Masontown, Pa., and Margaret and her husband, Robert Monaghan, of Uniontown, Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the CARLO J. MARUCCI FUNERAL HOME, Route 166, Republic, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 6, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Republic, with Rev. Fr. Stephen R. Bugay as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
Parish Wake Service on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
