Marilyn Bonser, 74, of Norristown, formerly of West Pittston, died Thursday at the Montgomery County Hospital, Norristown.

Born in the Harding section of Exeter Township, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Esther (Morris) Williams. She was a graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston, and Marywood College.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E.; and brother, Robert Williams.

Surviving are her daughter, Marilyn Serino, Easton, Md.; and one grandson.

The funeral will be held Saturday from the Frank A. Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with a Graveside Service at 1 p.m. at Mountain View Burial Park, Harding. There will be no calling hours.

Colletti, Patricia
January 5, 2001

Patricia Colletti, of Laurelwood Drive, Laflin, died Friday at East Mountain Manor, Plains Township.

Born in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Wentworth.

She was co-owner of several local McDonald's restaurants and was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Wilkes-Barre.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Colletti; brothers, Bernard and Charles Wentworth.

Surviving are her son, Frank J. Colletti, and daughter, Patricia Stella, both of Laflin; one grandchild; and two step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday from the Recupero Funeral Home, 406 Susquehanna Ave., West Pittston, with Father Don Muller officiating. Entombment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.Sun In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of Central Pennsylvania Chapter, PO Box 86, West Pittston.

Carey Sr., James
Jan. 5, 2001

James M. Carey Sr., 81, of Kingston, died Friday at his home.

Born June 30, 1919, in Kingston, he was a son of the late Harold and Christine (Gay) Carey. He was a graduate of Kingston High School. He was a sergeant with the Kingston Police Department. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Federation of Police and Dutch Mountain Landowner's Hunting Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; son, James, Jr.; brothers, George and Sam; and sister, Marge Howell.

Surviving are his daughters, Barbara Derrick, Reeders; and Amy Goodlavage, Kingston; sons, Thomas, Kingston; George, Pittston; and Gene, La Mesa, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Karl E. Blight Funeral Home, 392 Wyoming Ave., Kingston. Interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date and time to be announced. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Community Care, Kingston.

Carr Jr., William
Jan. 5, 2001

William J. Carr Jr., 58, of Union Street, Luzerne, died Friday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of Helen Patricia (Anthony) Carr and the late William J. Carr Sr. He was a 1960 graduate of Schenectady High School. He worked in the maintenance department of Certain-Teed Corp., Mountaintop. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion of Luzerne.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, the former Barbara Taylor; son, William, Larksville; daughter, Tracy Toma, Edwardsville; three grandchildren; sister, Patricia Tassetti, Kingston; and brothers, Jeffrey, Kingston; and Terrance, Florida.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home Inc., 568 Bennett St., Luzerne, with the Rev. Carol Coleman officiating. Interment will be in Ceder Crest Cemetery, Trucksville section of Kingston Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.

Cann, Charles and Joseph (twins)

Charles Cann IV and Joseph Mark Patrick Cann, twin sons, two-years-old, of Mocanaqua, died Sunday at the home of their grandmother, Egg Harbor Township, N.J.

Born in Camden, N.J., they were the sons of Charles, III and Tara (Brennan) Cann, Mocanaqua.

Surviving, in addition to their parents, are their maternal grandmother, Patricia Brennan, Egg Harbor Township; paternal grandparents, Charles and Toni Cann, Huntington Mills; and two uncles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Mocanaqua. Burial will be in the church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by the Mayo Funeral Home, Shickshinny. God, Carl

Carl Sevellon God, 85, of Terrytown, died Friday at The Highlands, Laporte.

Born Dec. 12, 1915, in Terrytown, he was a son of the late Charles and Susie (Johnson) God. He attended local schools. He worked on his family dairy farm, eventually succeeding ownership from his father and expanding it, later running the farm with his wife. He was a member of the Dairyman's League Association and Eastern Milk Producers.

He was preceded in death by his son, Rodney L.; and infant brother, Carl.

Surviving are his wife, the former Armeta L. Young; sons, the Rev. James R., New Bloomfield; and Dale L. and Lanny C., both of Terrytown; daughters, Donna M. Benjamin, Terrytown, and Cindy S. Blokzyl, Towanda; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and brother, Herman, Terrytown.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, with the Rev. James R. God officiating and the Rev. Jonathan C. God assisting. Interment will be in the Terrytown Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 1 p.m. until service time Monday. Memorial donations may be made to the Wyalusing Public Library, P.O. Examitas Jr., Lawrence

Lawrence R. Examitas Jr., 28, of White Haven, died Friday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Mountaintop.

Born in Hazleton, he was a son of Lawrence R., Sr. and Joan (Levandowski) Examitas, White Haven. He was a graduate of St. Jude's Elementary School, Mountaintop, Bishop Hafey High School, Hazleton, and Johnson Technical Institute, Scranton. He was a machinist with Mid-East Aluminum, Mountaintop. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, White Haven.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his paternal grandmother, Gertrude Examitas, Shaft; brother, Joseph, White Haven; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Joseph E. Lehman Funeral Home Inc., 403 Berwick St., White Haven, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. The Rev. Stephen Stavoy will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Fallon, Louis

Louis "Lukie" Fallon, 63, Main Street, Sugar Notch, died Friday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.

Born Oct. 12, 1937, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late John S. and Catherine (Forrester) Fallon. He was a 1955 graduate of Sugar Notch High School. He was an iron worker. He was a U.S. Army veteran during peace time. He was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Sugar Notch, and the Iron Workers Union Local 489, Scranton.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Williams.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, the former Lorraine Gargulis; daughters, Janet Fallon, at home; Sandra Bozinko, Mountaintop; Jo Ann Schiel, Wilkes-Barre; and Lou Ann Rominski, Centermoreland; son, Paul, Laurel Run; six grandchildren; brothers, George and John, both of Sugar Notch; sisters, Helen Tagnani and Rita Cusick, both of Ashley; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Monday from George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Roman Catholic Church Building Fund, Sugar Notch; or a charity of the donor's choice.

John B. "Bud" Grant, 79, of Dallas, died Friday at Hospice Community Care, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.

Hynes, Frank

Frank J. Hynes, 47, of Front Street, Warrior Run, died Thursday in Dickinson, N.Y.

Born April 19, 1953, in Wilkes-Barre Township, he was a son of the late Frank and Audrey (Maloney) Hynes. He was a graduate of Meyers High School, Luzerne County Community College, William Carey College, Hattiesburg, Miss., University of Southern Mississippi and attended Louisiana State University. He worked at Northeast Counseling Center, Nanticoke. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church, Wilkes-Barre.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard.

Surviving are four children; brothers, Kenneth, Plattsburgh, N.Y.; Harry, Wilkes-Barre; William, Los Angeles; and Bobby, Warrior Run; sisters, Mary Jo Hynes, Warrior Run; and Joyce Hynes, Nanticoke; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home Inc., 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre.

Joyce, Josephine

Josephine R. Joyce, a resident of the Wesley Village, Jenkins Township, formerly of East Merritt Street, Plains Township, died Friday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Schmiol) Swoboda. She worked at the Consolidated Cigar Co. and Zayre Department Store. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Plains Township, and its Altar and Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J.; brother, Joseph; and sisters, Frances Endler, Louise Puterbaugh and Mary Haughney.

Surviving are her son, Edward J., Sr., Laflin; one grandson; and sisters, Theresa Jones, Troy; and Elizabeth Brader, Wilkes-Barre; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the John P. Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

(Balavage) Obitz. He attended Nanticoke Area High School. He was self-employed as a drywall hanger throughout the area. He was a member of the Italian American Sporting Club, Glen Lyon section of Newport Township.

Panzitta, Minnie

Minnie Panzitta, 94, of Muncy, formerly of the Harding section of Exeter Township, died Thursday at Muncy Valley General Hospital.

Born May 12, 1906, in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late George and Rachel Gentile. She was a member of the Italian Christian Church, Pittston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dominick; sons, George and David; grandson, Michael; sisters, Anna Cumbo and Louise Chaump; and brothers, Michael, George and Mark Gentile.

Surviving are her son, Joseph, Wilkes-Barre; daughters, Mary Mack, Muncy; and Dolores Fielding, Alexandria, Va.; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Tambur, Dallas; and Margaret Deloia, Waterbury, Conn.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday from the Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton section of Franklin Township. Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Samuel M.; daughters, Mary, U.S. Navy, Okinawa, Japan; and Judy Reggie, at home.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at Slocum Chapel at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Arthur Redmond officiating. Interment will in Wyoming Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Metcalfe & Shaver Funeral Home Inc., Wyoming.

George F. Sekol, 82, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., formerly of South Plainfield, N.J., died Thursday at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin, N.J.

He was born in Duryea. He was a graduate of New York University. He was the director of nursing at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Lyons, N.J. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Elks, South Plainfield, N.J.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel; and sister, Ruth Frisbee.

Surviving are his son, Karl E., Middletown, N.J.; daughters, Karen S. Amelung, Little Egg Harbor; and Joan F. Ceran, Long Valley, N.J.; five grandchildren; brothers, Donald, Sterling Heights, Mich.; Carl, Lake, Mich.; Robert, Warren, Mich.; and William, Whitehall.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Wood Funeral Home, 134 E. Main St., Tuckerton, N.J. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, N.J. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Marlene Ruth Sanchez, of Ann Arbor, Mich., died Dec. 10 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor.

Born July 9, 1938, in Slocum, she was a daughter of Cora (Stackhouse) Ogin, Wanamie section of Newport Township, and the late Howard Ogin. She received a nursing degree at Woman's Hospital, Philadelphia. She was a registered nurse at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, Ann Arbor, and assisted her husband in his office practice. She was active with St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Dr. Hugo; children, Rebecca Smith, Pinckney, Mich.; Hugh, Mattawan, Mich.; Mark, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Richard, San Clemente, Calif.; and Elizabeth Sanchez, Ann Arbor; seven grandchildren; sister, Jane Peters, Pennsylvania; and brother, Howard Ogin, Pennsylvania.

Funeral services and cremation were held Dec. 14 at the Nie Funeral Home, 2400 Carpenter Road, Ann Arbor. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, 30600 Telegraph, Suite 2255, Bingham Farms, Mich., 48025.
