Paul M. Bobb
BEAVERTOWN - Paul M. Bobb, 89, of Beavertown, died at 10 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2000, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born Nov. 20, 1910, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Mary I. (Moyer) Bobb. His wife, Beatrice (Jenkins) Bobb, whom he married in 1939, survives. He is also survived by two nieces, Diane Mazzoni, Wilmington, Del., and Suzanne Baker, Warminster. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ira Bobb, in 1998. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Air Force band. He retired in 1987 from Bobb's Plumbing in Snyder County, where he and his brother worked as plumbers for more than 40 years. He was a member of Beaver Lutheran Church, Beaver Springs. He was also a 50-year member of F&AM Masonic Lodge 619, Middleburg; the Zembo Shrine, Harrisburg; the Harrisburg Consistory and the Erman E. Lepley American Legion Post 23, Beaver Springs. He enjoyed gardening and doing chores around the house. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Beaver Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Stanley D. Reep officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, where graveside military services will be provided by the American Legion Post 23. Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Organ Fund of Beaver Lutheran Church, RR1, Beaver Springs, PA 17812. Aurand Funeral Home, Beavertown, is in charge of arrangements.

Edward F. Boland
NEWRY - Edward F. Boland, 72, of 225 bedford St., Newry, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at his residence. Born March 11, 1928, in Hollidaysburg, (Gaysport), he was the son of the late James and Mary (Conner) Boland. His wife, Mary A. (Gonsman) Boland, whom he married Feb. 18, 1950 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, survives. Also surviving are: children, Constance Mosel, Altoona, Beverly Somers, Juniata, David F. Boland, Newry, and James E. Boland, Overtone, Texas; sisters, Margaret Ott, Orlando, Fla. and Betty Galasso, Tipton; five grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; and two step-great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by infant twin sons, John and Joseph. He served in the U. S. Army as a technician 4th grade in Headquarters 7th Infantry Division in Korea. He was a 1946 graduate of Hollidaysburg Senior High School. He was a manager of the former Acme Market, Lewistown. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Newry. He was also a member of the American Legion and former member of the Knights of Columbus, St. John Council 1338, Lewistown. He was an avid fan of Penn State and the Cleveland Indians. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Newry, with the Rev. William A. Rosensteel officiating. Committal will be made at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Hollidaysburg, with full military honors provided by the Williamsburg American Legion Post. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, where a vigil service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Patrick's Catholic School Fund, Newry, PA 16665 or to the Duncansville Volunteer Fire Company, Duncansville, PA 16635.

Robert E. Boop
LEWISTOWN - Robert E. Boop, 91, of 114 Pannebaker Ave., Lewistown, died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2000, at his residence. Born Sept. 18, 1908, in Yeagertown, he was a son of the late Benjamin A. and Mayme P. (Wirth) Boop. His wife, Sophie (Sczerbe) Boop, whom he married in 1938, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, JoAnn Minsker, New Castle, Del.; a sister, Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Mundy, Yeagertown; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother. Early in life, he worked for Letterman's Bakery for 25 years and then for Hallmark Industries, McClure for 20 years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Thomas B. Morningstar officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family will provide all funeral flowers.

Ruth H. Bossert
MIFFLINTOWN - Ruth H. Bossert, 82, of Mifflintown RR1, died at 12:43 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Oct. 24, 1917 in Mifflin, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Wilmont J. and Nina (Casner) Hibbs. Her husband George A. Bossert preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1986. Surviving are: children; William A. Bossert, Mifflintown RR4, Mrs. Don (Nina B.) Jimenez, Kingsland, Ga., Mrs. Rodney (Wendy K.) Sweger, East Waterford, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, George W. "Joe" Bossert, on May 5, 1993. She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by a brother, Lehman W. "Bill" Hibbs, who died July 13, 1971. She was a 1935 graduate of Mifflintown High School. She was employed early in life as a clerk for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, Harrisburg. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown, the Ever Ready Sunday school class, the Evangelical Lutheran Church Women of America, and she sent the cards for the shut-ins of the church. She was also a volunteer driver for the Juniata County Meals on Wheels. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown, with the Rev. William N. Esborn officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Mifflitown RR4. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home, 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church, 3 S. Third St., Mifflintown, PA 17059, or to the Juniata County Food Pantry, PO Box 44, Mifflintown, PA 17059.

Mae M. Goshorn Bowen
LEWISTOWN - Mae M. Goshorn Bowen, 84, of 465 Loop Road, Lewistown, died at 2:03 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Nov. 15, 1915, in Bratton Township, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Harvey F. and Ella (Grassmyer) Heckman. Her first husband, William F. Goshorn Jr., died in 1959. Her second husband, Omar C. Bowen, died June 1, 1995. Surviving are: two daughters, Sara J. Bowen, 465 Loop Road, Lewistown and Mrs. Gerald (Wanda) Randolph, Mount Home, Idaho, two sisters, Mrs. Leigh (Mable) Prye, McVeytown, and Mrs. Ira (Helen) Stine, York; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step-son, Kirby Bowen; three brothers, Samuel, Charles and Harold Heckman; and three sisters, Elizabeth Heckman, Ida Heckman and Alma Lantz. She was a cook at various area restaurants. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lewistown. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Leon Clayberger officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Alice June Bowersox
LEWISTOWN - Alice June Bowersox, 61, of 610 W. Fifth St., Lewistown, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born March 12, 1939, in Mifflin County, she was the daughter of Vivian M. (Norris) Long of 610 W. Fifth St., Lewistown and Grant Haught. Her husband, Jesse E. Bowersox, whom she married Nov. 2, 1957, survives. Also surviving are: children, Jesse E. Bowersox Jr., 40 Railroad St., Lewistown, Annette L. Colyer, 616 Hawstone Road, Lewistown, and Barbara J. Orndorf, Lewistown RR6; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was the last of her immediate family. She was a homemaker. She attended the Paintersville CMA Church. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. George H. Mark officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.

Charles F. Boyer
BERLIN - Charles F. Boyer, 60 of Wambaugh Hollow Road, Berlin, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at Somerset Hospital. Born July 23, 1940, in Allegheny Township, he was the son of the late Kermit and Bertha (Fochtman) Boyer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda (Heckman) Boyer, formerly of Lewistown and his second wife, Kay Ann (Schrock) Boyer, survives. Also surviving are: children: Todd Boyer, Berlin; Bradley Boyer, Fairhope, and Stacey Boyer, at home; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Speicher. He was a 1958 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School. He was employed by New Enterprise Stone and Lime for 40 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore, and the New Baltimore Sportsmen's Club. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. John the Baptist Church, New Baltimore, with the Rev. Mark S. Begly officiating. Committal will be in the church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. John the Baptist Church, New Baltimore, PA 15553. The Deaner Funeral Home, 705 Main St., Berlin, is in charge of arrangements.

Anna G. Brackbill
MIFFLIN - Anna G. Brackbill, 74, of the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin HC-67, formerly of Licking Creek (Mifflintown RR3), died at 6:05 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at the nursing home. Born July 25, 1926 in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late William R. and Lena A. (Kahley) Muldoon Sr. Her husband Leslie F. Brackbill preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1982. Surviving are: children, Charles G. Brackbill, Gary W. Brackbill, Gerald L. Brackbill, Gilbert G. Brackbill, Michael G. Brackbill, Douglas G. Brackbill, all of Mifflintown RR3, and David G. Brackbill, Mifflintown RR1; brothers and sisters, William R. Muldoon Jr. and Brady "Jake" Muldoon, both of Mifflintown RR1, Mrs. Clark (Betty) Reese, Lewistown RR2, Mrs. Frederick (Helen E.) Benner, Aaronsburg, Shirley M. Wagner, Mifflintown RR4 and Mrs. Neil (Pauline R.) Fleisher, Lewisburg; eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Muldoon. She was a 1954 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown. She was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Mifflintown RR3, where she taught Sunday school at the Maple Grove Sunday School. Earlier in life she was a member of Arch Rock United Methodist Church, Mifflintown RR1, where she also taught Sunday school. She was a homemaker, and had worked as a seamstress at Juniata Garment Company, Mifflin. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Brown Funeral Home, 1000 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Louise Knotts officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Mifflintown RR3. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
