Shannon Lee Lloyd
OMAHA, NE - Shannon Lee Lloyd, 7, of 13904 Ames Ave., Omaha, NE, died at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at University Hospital, Omaha, NE, from injuries suffered in an automobile/bicycle accident. Born Jan. 16, 1994, in Houston, Texas, she was the daughter of Russell and Anne (Metzger) Lloyd of Omaha, NE. Also surviving are: a brother, John Lloyd, at home; maternal grandparents, John and Jean Metzger of Lewistown; and paternal grandmother, Dorothy Lloyd of Reisterstown, MD. She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Edward Lloyd. She was entering second grade at Fullerton Magnet Center in Omaha, NE. She loved animals and planned to be a veterinarian. She was also an avid reader. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, Omaha, NE. Services were held last week in Omaha, NE. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Nebraska Humane Society, 8929 Fort St., Omaha, NE 68134 or donate blood in Shannon's memory. The Hefey-Hefey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler Mortuaries, Omaha, NE, was in charge of arrangements.

Lloyd W. Lockett
EAST WATERFORD - Lloyd W. Lockett, 82, of East Waterford RR1, died at 4:40 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Lewistown Hospital. Born April 11, 1919, in Bigler Township, Clearfield County, he was a son of the late John L. and Emma May (Dillon) Lockett. His wife, Gladys May (Joseph) Lockett, died in 1982. Surviving are: children, Lloyd R. "Rick" Lockett, McAlisterville, Mrs. John (Cecelia) "Jean" Robinson, McClure and Mrs. Gerald (Diane) Kratzer, East Waterford; foster children, Michael Stine, Steven Erhart, Harry Walters, Karl Erhart, Wanda Erhart and Dona Erhart, all of Lewistown; sisters, Mrs. Ira (Martha) Knepper, Lewistown and Florence Henry, Burnham; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 13 foster grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Mediterranean Theatre. He was a crane operator at Standard Steel for 39 1/2 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Parkview Church of the Brethren, the East Waterford Fire Company, and United Steelworkers of America No. 1940. His service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Donald C. Walters officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Building D, Suite 101, Altoona, PA 16601.

Jean Gibson Lofflin
LEWISTOWN - Jean Gibson Lofflin, 75, a resident of Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, Lewistown, died at 8 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2001, at the nursing home. Born Oct. 16, 1925, in Richwood, W. Va., she was a daughter of the late Edward F. and Dorothy (Donalson) Gibson. Her husband, John R. Lofflin, whom she married June 28, 1956, survives. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Sutton and Madaline Collins. She was a registered nurse at various hospitals in Pennsylvania , Maryland, West Virginia, and Alabama. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lewistown. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the Alzheimers Foundation, 2001 N. Front St, Harrisburg, PA 17102. Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Kathryn L. Logue
CAMP HILL - Kathryn L. Logue, 89, a resident of Manor Care Nursing Home, Camp Hill, formerly of 15 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, died at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at the nursing home. Born April 6, 1911, in Ryde, she was the daughter of the late Nevin S. and Hulda (Hall) Love. Her husband, Clyde C. Logue, died in 1984. She is survived by children, Richard C. Logue, 15 W. Fourth St., Lewistown and Mrs. Jeffery (Susan) Kisner, Shiremanstown; sisters and brothers, Hazel Heider, Burnham, Ruth Pollock, Washington, DC, Betty Love, Shirleysburg, and Maxine Raffensberger, Elizabethtown; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. She was a homemaker and early in life, she was employed by the American Viscose Corporation. She was a member of the Lewistown Church of the Brethren. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be St. Mark's Cemetery, Lewistown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Building D., Suite 101, Altoona, PA 16601. Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Virginia R. Lohman
LEWISTOWN - Virginia R. Lohman, 81, of 300 Sixth St., Highland Park, Lewistown, died at 7:29 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born April 2, 1919, in Altoona, she was a daughter of the late Hirman and Anna (Craig) Watts. Her husband, Paul A. Lohman Sr., died Nov. 11, 1989. Surviving are sons, Paul A. Lohman Jr., Lewistown and Larry W. Lohman, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Mildred McCormick, Florida; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Watts and two sister, Esther Eckert and Phyllis Beeman. She was a graduate of Altoona High School and attended Penn State and business school. Early in life, she worked at Danks & Co. and later owned and operated a beauty shop in Highland Park. She was a Methodist by faith. She enjoyed camping and playing piano. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family, with Karen McCachren officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery. There will be no viewing. Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Harry A. Long Jr.
BELLEVILLE - Harry A. Long Jr., 90, of 21 Osage Drive, Belleville, died at 3:49 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital. Born Sept. 14, 1910, in Spruce Hill, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Harry A. Sr. and Mary (Patton) Long. His wife, E. Franceila (Stuck) Long, whom he married Aug. 2, 1930, died June 9, 1967. Surviving are: children, Constance Fultz and Harry O. Long, both of Belleville; sister and brother, Mrs. James (Lenore) Speer, Blair Mills, and David Long, Lancaster; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, James L. Long on July 26, 1985, and one granddaughter, Margaret 'Muffie" Peachey; sisters, Zella Beaver, Reba Girton, Catherine Long; and a brother, Darwin T. Long. He was owner of Long's Garage Inc., Reedsville, for 37 years, retiring in 1987, and he was also a Massey Ferguson Dealer. He was a member of the NRA and a former member of the Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, flying and horseback riding. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville, with the Rev. Samuel G. Strohm officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Valera C. Long
MILLERSTOWN - Valera C. Long, 80, of Millerstown, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at the Brookline Manor & Retirement Village, RR1 Mifflintown. Born Feb. 2, 1921, in Millerstown, Perry County, she was the daughter of the late James D. and Emma (Mendenhall) Cupp. Her husband, Alton Long, preceded her in death on May 30, 1998. She is survived by cousins. She was a graduate of Millerstown High School and Central Penn Business School, Summerdale. She retired from Bell Telephone Company, Harrisburg, where she had served as supervisor in the business office. She was a member of the Millerstown United Methodist Church, and its Sunday school. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Millerstown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James R. Behren officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday, at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to: Millerstown United Methodist Church, 702 East Sunbury Street, Millerstown, Pa 17062, or to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are being handled by the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville.

Arthur K. Lose
MCCLURE - Arthur K. Lose, 82, of McClure RR2, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born Sept. 26, 1918, in McClure, he was a son of the late John and Mertie (Kline) Lose. His wife, Mary J. (Troup) Lose, whom he married May 18, 1940, survives. Also surviving are: three daughters, Carol Jean Ewing, McClure RR2, Judy Ann Bingaman, Erlanger, KY and Kay Louise Eisenhart, McClure; six sisters, Loretta Kline, Mount Pleasant Mills, Joyce Fisher, Northumberland, Phyllis Eisenhauer, Middleburg RR, Beatrice Charles and Irene Fenstermacher, both of Middleburg and Iva Hook, Beavertown; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother, Barbara Long, Lulu Walter, Mary Zechman and Edward Lose. He was a 1936 graduate of the former McClure High School. In 1981, he retired from B & R Farm Supply, where he was a mechanic for 20 years. Earlier in life, he worked for the former Kirby Manufacturing and had farmed 17 years for Reno Thomas. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Beavertown. He was a member of the McClure, Bannerville and Beaver Springs Fire Companies. Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Beavertown chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with the Rev. Kevin Brophy officiating. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Beavertown, PA 17813 or Baker's United Methodist Church, RR2, McClure, PA 17841.
