Lane Leonard McAlister
NEWARK, Del. - Lane Leonard McAlister, 82, of Newark, Del., formerly of McAlisterville, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at his home. Born July 28, 1918, in Oakland Mills, he was a son of the late Hugh H. and Mary F. (Leonard) McAlister. He is survived by an aunt, Evelyn Griest of Dover and two cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Hugh L. McAlister. He was a graduate of Lewistown High School. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theatre. He had worked in quality control and as a test driver for Chrysler Corporation, Detroit Mich. and Newark, Del., retiring in 1976, after 40 years of service. Services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, Del. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville. Friends may call 6 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Retransmission of information was handled by the Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, McAlisterville.

Goldie L. McCalips
LEWISTOWN - Goldie L. McCalips, 78, of 18 Casner Lane, Lewistown, died at 2:55 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Harrisburg Hospital. Born Dec. 23, 1923, in Oliver Township, McVeytown, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Anna C. (Metz) Casner. Her husband, Harry E. "Ducky" McCalips, preceded her in death on May 11, 1993. Surviving are: sons, Robert McCalips and Steven McCalips, both of Lewistown; brothers and sisters, Donald Casner, Lewistown, Janet Huffman and Doris Foltz, both of Mechanicsburg, Marian Cherry, Granville, and Kenneth Casner, Lewistown; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Jerry Wise officiating. Interment will be in Vira Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday, at the funeral home.

Helen G. McClellan
LEWISTOWN - Helen G. McClellan, 96, of 14 Rosemont Ave., Lewistown, died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2001, at her grandson's home at 40 Nascar Lane, Lewistown. Born Feb. 2, 1905, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Alvilda (Davis) Arnold. Her husband, Milton L. McClellan, died June 12, 1997. She is survived by a granddaughter, whom she reared, Susan Peters Haas, 14 Rosemont Ave., Lewistown; a sister, Frieda Arnold, 16 Rosemont Ave., Lewistown; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Lee and Walter McClellan; a daughter, Sandra Peters; a brother, Lee E. Arnold; and a sister, Mabel Arnold. She worked in the processing department of the American Viscose Corporation, retiring in 1941. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Lewistown for 79 years. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. W. Lee Lawhead officiating. Interment will be in Samuel's Cemetery, Decatur Township. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: Trinity United Church of Christ, PO Box 1213, Lewistown, PA 17044.

Luther T. McClellan
LEWISTOWN - Luther T. McClellan, 95, of Outlook Point Commons, Reedsville, died at 11:22 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Lewistown Hospital Emergency room. Born April 13, 1906, in Belltown, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Sallie (Goss) McClellan. His wife, Mabel (Weller) McClellan, died Oct. 31, 1980. Surviving are: children, Robert T. McClellan, Mechanicsburg, Luther E. McClellan,Camp Hill, and Sally A. Hess, Lewistown; two sisters, Maybelle Phenicie Heisler and Evelyn McClellan, both of Lewistown; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. He was employed at the American Viscose Corp. for 43 years, retiring in 1970. He attended St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewistown. Services were held at the convenience of the family, with interment in Mt. Rock Cemetery. Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Beulah F. McClure
PORT ROYAL - Beulah F. McClure, 79, of Port Royal RR2, died at 8:13 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown. Born Feb. 18, 1922, in Reeds Gap, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late William M. and Isabel (Shoop) Gray. Her husband, L. Carl McClure, Port Royal RR2, whom she married on Dec. 18, 1948, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter and a son, Mrs. Glen (Vivian) Brubaker, Honey Grove RR1, and Donald J. McClure, Port Royal RR3; a sister and a brother, Ruth H. Gray and Samuel L. Gray, both of Honey Grove RR1; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, Banks Gray, Miles Gray, James Gray, Harry Gray and Catherine Hockenberry. She was a member of the Port Royal United Methodist Church and Turbett Grange #781. Her funeral service is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rex Funeral Home, 308 Market St., Port Royal, with Pastor Kenneth R. Kitzmiller officiating. Interment will be in Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Building Fund of the Port Royal United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 396, Port Royal, PA 17082-0396.

Elmyra P. McClure
PORT ROYAL - Elmyra P. McClure, 90, of Port Royal RR2, died at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, July 22, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born June 6, 1911, in Perry County, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Bertie C. (Sarver) Pines. Her husband, Elliott O. McClure, died Jan. 26, 1986. Surviving are: daughters, Mrs. Donald (Dorice) Pontius, Port Royal RR2 and Mrs. Jay F. (Janice) Auker, Mifflintown RR4; a sister, Marian Shade Wible, Locust Grove Retirement Village, HC67, Mifflin; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a 1928 graduate of Millerstown High School and a 1930 graduate of Shippensburg State Teachers College, Shippensburg. She was a retired elementary school teacher, having worked for the Juniata County School District, retiring in 1970, with 25 years of service. She was also an author, having published three books, A Snapshot of My Life, A Walk Down Country Lanes, and Short Tales and Long Tales. She was a member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church, the Turbett Grange 781, the Pamona Grange 35, and the Pennsylvania State and National Granges. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mifflin Chapter 260; the Juniata County Retired School Employees Association; the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees; and the Juniata County Historical Society. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Marton J. Roberson officiating. Interment will be in Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Port Royal Lutheran Church, PO Box 267, Port Royal, PA 17082-0267 or to the Juniata County Library, 498 Jefferson St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.

Rodney P. McClure
LIVERPOOL - Rodney P. McClure, 53, of Liverpool RR2, died of natural causes at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2001, in the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. Born Jan. 6, 1948, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Paul R. and Maude G. (Ehrenzeller) McClure. His wife, Inez G. (Cox) McClure of Liverpool RR2, whom he married May 30, 1970, survives. He is also survived by a son, Matthew J. McClure, Liverpool RR2 and a sister, Brenda Guyer, Mexico. He was a 1966 graduate of East Juniata High School, Cocolamus and a 1968 graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He was employed by Aurand's for Sports, Lewistown from 1968 until 1969, and from 1969 until the present he was employed as a commercial artist for the Advertising Department of the Patriot News, Harrisburg. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard, Liverpool; a life member of the National Rifle Association; the Susquehanna River Waterfowlers; Ducks Unlimited, Hunter's Valley Sportsman's Association; and the Newport Order of the Owls. He was an avid hunter and bass fisherman. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, Sunbury and High Streets, Millerstown, with the Rev. James R. Bramer officiating. Interment will be in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Thompsontown. The family will be present to receive friends at a closed casket visitation 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Leonard J. McCoach
LEWISTOWN - Leonard J. McCoach, 74, of 40-B Railroad St., Lewistown, died at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born May 4, 1926, in Bradsville, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (McGann) McCoach. His wife, Helen (Kryston) McCoach, whom he married Sept. 5, 1948, survives. He is also survived by children, Leonard M. McCoach, Wilkes-Barre and Gary M. McCoach, Morton; brother and sisters, John "Jack" McCoach and Rita Kimmel, both of Schuylkill Haven and Elgina Ratzka, Branchdale; and one grandson. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Navy Amphibians. He was a construction worker with the United Steelworkers of America. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church and a member of the choir. He was also a member of the Lewistown Knights of Columbus, 3rd degree and was an avid Penn State fan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Saturday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Lewistown, with the Rev. Lawrence R. Coakley officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, where military graveside services will be held by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown. Friends may call 10 a.m.-11:45 a.m. Saturday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown. Memorial contributions may be made to: Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
