Delores J. McKnight
MCCLURE - Delores J. McKnight, 64, of RR2 McClure, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Geisinger Medical Center, following years of illness. Born Oct. 12, 1937, in Derry Township, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Mary C. (Rager) Romig. Her husband, Hugh A. McKnight, whom she married July 9, 1955, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, Cheryl L. Underhill, RR2 McClure, and four sons, Hugh E., Burnham, Charles W. and Clair A. "Duck", and Tony G. McKnight, all of RR2 McClure; a sister, Maxine S. Ettinger, Lewistown; seven grandchildren and a special grandchild, Jonathan Bingaman. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Phyllis Hoffman, Faye Romig, Donna Maben, Arlene Romig and Martha, and two brothers, Clair and Guy Romig. She was last employed by the former Kirby Manufacturing and Davis Manufacturing as a seamstress. She was a member of Samuel's Church, RR1 McClure, and attended New Lancaster Valley Church. She was also a member of the Bannerville Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary for 30 years, and had served as President. She enjoyed designing flowers, baking cakes and playing bingo. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, with Pastor Franklin E. Trego and Rev. Clark Kelsey officiating. Interment will be in the Samuel's Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Sunday, at the McClure Chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, North Brown St., Mcclure, where the family will be present from 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: Bannerville Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxillary or the Lewistown Dialysis Center, 611 Electric Ave., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Harriet T. 'Petie' McLucas
BURNHAM - Harriet T. "Petie" McLucas, 71, of 527 Highland Ave., Burnham, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at her home. Born Dec. 23, 1929, in Burnham, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Zelda (Brown) Summers. She is survived by her husband, Carl A. McLucas, whom she married June 5, 1948. Also surviving are: three children, Daniel McLucas and Jane Hill, both of Burnham, and David McLucas, Benton; brother and sisters, James Summers of Channelview, Texas, Betty Jones, Milroy, and Olive Specht, Lewistown; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James McLucas, and a sister, Lucille Brownwell. She was a homemaker and had previously been employed at Aurand's 4 Sports and the Burnham Drive-In. She was also a home nurse aide. She was active as one of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1954, with the Lewistown Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, with William J. Winn officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to HOSPICE: The Bridge, 1126 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Michael A. McMillin
LEWISTOWN - Michael A. McMillin, 48, of 5880 S.R. 103, Lewistown, died at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at his residence. Born September 28, 1953, in Lewistown, he was the son of Fred W. and and Mary I. (Foor) McMillin Sr. of 5880 S.R. 103, Lewistown. Also surviving are: sisters and a brother, Mrs. Sandra M. Hartman, Lewistown, Mrs. Edith McMillin, Belleville, and Fred W. McMillin Jr., Terrace Blvd., Lewistown. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jon D. McMillin, on Jan. 22, 1995. He was a 1972 graduate of Penn Highlands High School. He was a lighting technician for 18 years in Miami Beach, FL, before retiring in 1998 due to a disability. He was a member of the Lewistown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., with the Rev. John Looney and Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: Lewistown Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Ave., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Gary L. McNeal
LEWISTOWN - Gary L. McNeal, 63, of 13 Hillside Drive, Lewistown, died at 12:03 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001 in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital. Born Jan. 5, 1938, in Lewistown, he was the son of Ethel M. (Hoffman) McNeal of Outlook Pointe Commons and the late Royer C. "Corb" McNeal. His wife, A. Patricia (Brought) McNeal, whom he married Sept. 24, 1966, survives. He is also survived by a brother, Donald L. McNeal, Warren. He was a 1955 graduate of Lewistown High School. He worked at the American Viscose Corp. until 1972 and then opened and operated McNeal's Hobby Shop until his retirement. He was a member of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church, member and co-founder of the Mifflin County Model Railroad Club, a member of the Friends of the East Broad Top and the NMRA. His service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Bruce A. Hinderliter officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Mifflin County Model RR Club, c/o Ed Forsythe, 222 Vira Road, Lewistown, PA 17044 or to the Lewistown Presbyterian Church, 17 E. Third St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Mary S. McNitt
LEWISTOWN - Mary S. McNitt, 86, of 11 Central Ave., Lewistown, died at 9:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Ohesson Manor, Lewistown. Born June 14, 1915, in Mapleton Depot, she was a daughter of the late William M. and Mary L. (Leopold) Snook. Her husband, J. Bailey McNitt, died Sept. 25, 1997. Surviving are: children, Mrs. Charles (Linda) Gemberling, Selinsgrove and William K. McNitt, Reedsville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a life-long artist. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lewistown for over 75 years, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, Bible School teacher, member of the Gleaner's Sunday School Class and the Church Widow's Group, and secretary of the Church Building Fund. Her service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Jeffery D. McCleary officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: First Baptist Church, 111 E. George "John" "Tony" Melius
MCVEYTOWN - George "John" "Tony" Melius, 80, of US Highway 522 South, McVeytown, died at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2001, at his home. Born June 15, 1921, in Yellow Creek, Huntingdon County, he was a son of the late Charles and Nina (Foster) Setzler. His wife, Mary (Sellers) Melius, whom he married Dec. 17, 1953, survives. Also surviving are: children, Kenneth H. Ward, McVeytown, Mrs. James (Donna) Briggs, Kistler, Tom R. Shontz, Newport and Steven R. Sellers, Bellefonte; brothers and sisters, Ida Heimbach, Mrs. Richard (Arlene) Black and Alice Shawver, all of Lewistown, Lloyd Setzler, Strodes Mills, Floyd Setzler, Baltimore, MD and Merrill Setzler, Hummelstown; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. He retired from the Pennsylvania Glass Sand Company in 1971 with 23 years of service. He was a member of the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with the Rev. Darvin C. Donahey officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A. Irene Melton
RICHFIELD - A. Irene Melton, 88, a resident of Zendt's Nursing Home, Richfield, formerly of Reedsville, died at 12:02 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at the nursing home. Born Dec. 24, 1912, in Reedsville, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Ellie M. (Rodgers) Bulick. Her husband, John N. Melton, died October 1963. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte B. Light and a brother, James Franklin Bulick. She was a housewife and previously attended Reedsville Evangelical Lutheran Church. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Kenneth Longfield officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville. Friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.

Arlington James Mengel
SPRING GROVE - Arlington James Mengel, 91, of 4811 Lehman Road, Spring Grove, formerly of Mount Pleasant Mills RR2, died at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at Fox Ridge Manor, Dover. Born Aug. 17, 1909, in Heister Valley, rural Mount Pleasant Mills, he was the son of the late James Francis and Melinda (Rauch) Mengel. His first wife, Ada Mary (Davis) Mengel, whom he married Oct. 6, 1928, died April 20, 1976. His second wife, Grace Alvesta (Arbogast) Troup Mengel, whom he married June 9, 1979, died Feb. 11, 1983. Surviving are: a son, Harold E. Mengel of Spring Grove, where he lived prior to entering Fox Ridge Manor; two half sisters, Mrs. Warren (Betty) Snyder of California, MD and Faye Moyer of HCR 72, Mount Pleasant Mills; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: a son, James William "Jim" Mengel on Dec. 30, 1997; three brothers, Wilbert, Arthur, and Leroy Mengel; one sister, Almera Graham; stepmother, Ida (Chubb) Benner; three half brothers, Kenneth Mengel, Robert Benner and Howard Benner; and two half sisters, Pauline Snyder and Lenna Wright.He was educated at the Upper Heister Valley Grammar Schoolhouse, Mount Pleasant Mills RR2. He was a lifelong poultry farmer on the family homestead, retiring in 1966. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mount Pleasant Mills and a charter member of the former Eastern States Farmers Exchange. He enjoyed his home, baseball and hunting. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant Mills, with the Rev. Andrew C. Weaver officiating and the Rev. Celo V. Leitzel assisting. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills. Friends may call 1 p.m. Sunday until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to: St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, c/o Miss Gail Troup, Treasurer, RR4, Box 229, Middleburg, PA 17842 or to Fox Ridge Manor, 3377, Fox Run Road, Dover, PA 17315.
