Charles D. Miller
BURNHAM - Charles D. Miller, 79, of 504 N. Logan Boulevard, Burnham, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at Harrisburg Hospital. Born Dec. 24, 1921, in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Anna Mae (Ripple) Cline Miller. His wife, Emma (Coffey) Miller, whom he married Dec. 2, 1942, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Linda Kay) Morgan, Shippensburg; brother and sisters, Ruth Partner, Duncannon, Harry E. Miller, Glenwood, Lillie M. Miller, Lewistown, and Annabelle Coulter, Granville; two grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, an infant twin brother, an infant sister, and two sisters, Alice "Bunny" Botteicher and Pearl Shehan. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was employed in the wheel mill of Standard Steel for 35 years. He was a life member of Yeagertown and Brooklyn Fire Companies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and Bus Haven in New Lancaster Valley. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Pastor Victor Norris officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown. Friends may call 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Harry E. Miller
LEWISTOWN - Harry E. Miller, 66, of 329 Alfarata Road, Lewistown, died at 6:43 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born Dec. 2, 1934, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Charles Edgar and Florence K. (Rothrock) Miller. His wife, Sarah R. Miller, died March of 1988. Surviving are: children, Mrs. Steve (Pamela) Harshbarger, Barry S. Miller, Thomas A. Miller, and Tony Miller, all of Lewistown RR2, and Steven E. Miller, McVeytown RR2; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary E.) Powell, Parkview, Burnham, Gene A. Miller, Texas, James P. Miller, San Diego, Calif. and Dorothy Benjamin, Stillwater; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Charles L. Miller, David A. Miller and Anna Hale. He worked as a truck driver. He was a member of the Lewistown Moose Lodge 143; the City, Hook and Ladder Fire Company; the American Legion Post 90; the VFW Post 7011; the Owls Club, Lewistown; and the Sons of American Legion Post 368, Richardson, Texas. He was also a life member of the Brooklyn Hose Company, Lewistown. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Ralph Wilson officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Eshleman Miller
MIFFLINTOWN - Helen Eshleman Miller, 85, of Mifflintown RR1 Box 256, died at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at home after a short illness. Born April 16, 1915 in Pequea Township, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Maris W. and Barbara H. (Eshleman) Hess. Her husband, Claude D. Miller Sr., whom she married March 30, 1939, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. John H. (Anna Lois) Brubaker, Port Royal, J. Kenneth, Mifflintown, Glenn M., Honesdale, James R., Williamston, Mich., Claude D. Jr., Port Royal, Fred E. Weaver, Washington Borough, and Mrs. Sanford (H. Grace) Seigrist, Mifflinburg; 34 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and a step-mother, Rhoda E. Hess Witmer, Richland. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Bobby Brubaker; a step-mother, Grace Eshleman Hess; and a brother and an infant sister. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Conestoga Drive Mennonite Church, Lancaster. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Byerland Mennonite Church, Willow Street, Lancaster County, with Bishop Donald Nolt, the Rev. Donald Newswanger, the Rev. Lester Boll and the Rev. Richard Nolt officiating. Interment will be in Byerland Mennonite Church Cemetery, Willow Street, Lancaster County. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Shade Mountain Mennonite Church, Mount Pleasant Mills, and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Byerland Mennonite Church, Willow Street, Lancaster County. The Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home, Millersville, is in charge of arrangements.

Kermit S. 'Pete' Miller
MILMONT - Kermit S. "Pete" Miller, 88, of Thompsontown RR2, died at 11:10 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Rolling Hills Manor, Milmont. Born May 22, 1912, in Donally Mills, Perry County, he was the son of the late Edward and Carrie Ann (Campbell) Miller. His wife, Rosalie (Doyle) Miller, whom he married Oct. 8, 1934, died Nov. 2, 1997. He is survived by two sons, Carl Edward Miller of Mifflintown RR3 and Charles Robert Miller of New Bloomfield RR2; five daughters, Janice L. Miller of McAlisterville RR2, Nancy L. Reeder of Mifflintown, Mary Ann Miller of Thompsontown RR2, Sandra Jean Filler and Cindy Waters, both of Mifflintown RR4; 29 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas S. Miller and a brother, Dwight Miller. He was employed as a truck driver, working for Roy Wingate before he retired. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Judy Rowles officiating. Interment will be in East Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Alzheimer's Association, Governor's Plaza South, Building 2, 2001 N. Front St., Harrisburg, PA 17101.

Minnie S. Miller
BELLEVILLE - Minnie S. Miller, 92, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, formerly of Lewistown, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born Oct. 10, 1909, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Virgie (Martz) Stutts. Her husband, W. Dean Miller died in 1989. She was preceded in death by a son, Phillip D. Miller on June 16, 1994. Early in life, she was a bookkeeper. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lewistown. Her service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Valley View Haven, Belleville, with the Rev. Galen Sharp and Karen McCachren officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery. Friends may call 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday at Valley View. Memorial contributions may be made to: Valley View Haven Retirement, 4702 Main St., Belleville, PA 16823 or to First United Methodist Church, 200 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, PA 17044. Randall C. Miller
POTTERS MILLS - Randall C. Miller, 72, of Potters Mills, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at the Hershey Medical Center. Born Aug. 5, 1928, in Centre Hall, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Margretta (Tressler) Miller. His companion of 19 years, Grace Gates, survives. Also surviving are: sons, Brian C. Miller of Boalsburg and Michael N. Miller of Rural Spring Mills; sisters, Helen Gilbert of Belleville; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise M. Reish on June 12, 2001. He graduated from Centre Hall Potter Township High School in l946. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He started into business in 1956 with his good friend the late William Reese and went on to own the Twin Kiss Drive In, State College. He was the president of State Amusement and Vending Company since 1962. He had been involved with the Hotel State College, Baby's Burgers and Shakes in State College, Tussey Mountain Ski Resort, and Northland Bowl and Sports Center, State College. In 1974, be began serving on the board of directors of the former First National Bank of Centre Hall, now known as Northwest Savings Bank. He was an avid Penn State sports fan for 40 years. He especially enjoyed traveling, being involved with all his friends from Rockspar Lodge, and spending time on his farm. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Heintzelman Funeral Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall. Interment will be in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, Centre Hall. Friends may call 7-9:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Hope Lodge Building Fund, 125 Lucy Ave., Hummelstown, PA 17033 (Hope Lodge provides housing for cancer patients at Hershey Medical Center).

William S. Minick III
MIFFLINTOWN - William S. Minick III, 54, of Mifflintown RR1 (Arch Rock) died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001 in Walker Township, Juniata County. Born Sept. 2, 1947 in Lewistown, he was a son of Minnie (Clark) Minick, Mifflintown RR1, and the late William S. Minick Jr. Also surviving are: a companion, Kathy J. Fry and her two daughters. He was a 1965 graduate of Juniata Joint High School. He was a Lutheran by faith and a member of the National Rifle Association and the Chestnut Flat Hunting Camp. He owned and operated Cherokee Park Camp Ground, Mifflintown RR1. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown with the Rev. William N. Esborn officiating. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown. The family will not be present. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mifflintown Hose Company No.1, 510 Washington Ave., Mifflintown, PA 17059.

Raymond David Minium Sr.
THOMPSONTOWN - Raymond David Minium Sr., 77, of Thompsontown RR1, died at 3:40 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001 a.m., at his residence. Born Aug. 3, 1923 at Richfield, he was the son of late Arthur and Goldie (Troup) Minium. His wife, Evelyn M. (Willow), whom he married June 19, 1947, died March 20, 1999. Surviving are: children, Ronald C. Minium and Mrs. Paul (Donna M.) Hood, both of Thompsontown RR1, Jane E. Wright of Enola, and Mrs. Randy (Cindy S.) Hower of Thompsontown RR2; a sister, Mrs. Lawrence (Mary) Knouse of Millerstown RR2; a step-brother, Robert Minium of Ickesburg; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond D. Minium Jr. on April 23, 1986; a sister, Esther Minium; twin brothers, in infancy and a step-brother, Norman Minium. He was educated in the Richfield schools. He was a U S Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 67th Quartermaster Refrigeration Company (Medium) as a Technician 5th Grade, in Normandy, Northern France and Central Europe. He earned the Good Conduct Medal; the Meritorious Unit Award; the EAME Service Medal with three Bronze Stars; and the Victory Medal. He was employed as a truck driver for 10 years by the McAlisterville Block Company of McAlisterville, until its closing, when he retired from full time work. He then worked part-time as a truck driver for the Savercool Block Company of Millerstown also as a truck driver and as the maintenance man at the Honaman House,Thompsontown. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, Millerstown RR2 and the Kettle Creek Sportsmens Club of Clinton County. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Services will be private and burial will be in St. James United Methodist Cemetery, Millerstown RR2, with full miliary honors accorded by the Liverpool American Legion, Post 364. The George P. Garman Funeral Home Inc., Mount Pleasant Mills, is in charge of arrangements.
