Emily K. Rearick
BEAVERTOWN - Emily K. Rearick, 82, of Beavertown, died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital, where she had been a patient since July 24. Born on Dec. 16, 1918, in Beavertown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Warren Ernest and Anna Verdilla (Eisenhauer) Ernest Ament. Her husband, Marlin D. Rearick, whom she married on Oct. 31, 1941, preceded her in death on July 5, 1978. She is survived by: two daughters, Peggy Ann Rearick, Beavertown and Mrs. Steven (Kathleen L.) Bilger, Middleburg. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Miriam Benfer, and three brothers, Earl Ernest, Harold Ernest and Charles Ernest. She was a a member of Beaver Lutheran Church, where earlier in life, she participated in the choir and taught the youth Sunday School class. Earlier in life, she was also a 4-H leader. She enjoyed giving piano lessons, music and gardening. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Paxtonville Cemetery with the Rev. Charles A. Brophy officiating. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: SUN Home Health Service, 61 Duke St., Northumberland, PA, 17857-9985. Aurand Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown is handling arrangements.

Alfred W. Reed
LEWISTOWN - Alfred W. Reed, 72, of 15 Goss Terrace, Lewistown, died at 12:43 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Lewistown Hospital. Born May 6, 1928, in Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Raymond and Olive (Russell) Reed. His wife, Marion (Brown) Reed, whom he married June 9, 1967, survives. He was the last of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by two brothers. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was employed over his lifetime by various construction companies from 1953 until his retirement in 1990. He was Presbyterian by faith. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the First Methodist Cemetery, Fourth Street, Lewistown. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the First Baptist Church, 111 E. Third St., Lewistown, PA 17044. Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley A. Reed
LEWISTOWN - Shirley A. Reed, 70, of 5440 SR 103 North, Lewistown, died at 11:50 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born July 20, 1931, in Reedsville, she was a daughter of the late William and Myrtle (Hassinger) Griffith. Her husband, Balfred R. Reed, whom she married Nov. 18, 1947, survives. Also surviving are: sisters and brother, Harriet Crummey, Boalsburg, Betty Baker, Lewistown, Dorine McClellan, Centre Hall and Jerry T. Griffith, Burnham. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. She was a homemaker, who earlier in life worked at the Arrow Shirt Factory for 13 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lewistown. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown, with the Rev. Jeffery D. McCleary officiating. There will be no viewing and family will provide all funeral flowers. Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

W. Ben Reeder
PORT ROYAL - W. Ben Reeder, 68, of 213 Market St., Port Royal, formerly of Perry County, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at his home. Born June 11, 1932, in Green Park, he was the son of the late Boyd L. and Gertrude I. (Hower) Reeder. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy J. (Sheibley) Reeder. His second wife, Jean M. (Rehrer) Reader, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mary J. Morrow, Landisburg and Bradley Reeder, New Bloomfield; a stepchildren, Carl R. Cromcis, Lebanon, Robin A. Dick, Duncannon and Caryn R. Rhoads, Loysville; brothers, Kenneth F. Reeder, Cornwall, Boyd M. Reeder, Green Park and David W. Reeder, Blain; six grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was the owner of Walker Camping Area, Mexico; was a real estate agent for Century 21; formerly owned Inn 74, Landisburg; Hockleberry Inn, New Bloomfield; Reeder's Cider Press, Mount Pleasant Mills; and was a former employee of Amp Inc. and many other businesses. He was a member of Adam's Lodge 319 F&AM, New Bloomfield; the Tall Cedars of Lebanon-Juniata Valley Forest 88; the Harrisburg Consistory; the Zembo Temple; The National Grange in Juniata County; the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1299, Carlisle; the Loyal Order of Moose 925, Millerstown; the American Legion Post 298, Mifflintown; and the VFW Crawford-Brubaker Post, Mifflintown. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Landisburg RRI, with the Rev. H. James Williams officiating. Interment will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Landisburg RRI. There will be a visitation following the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Shriner's Children's Hospital, c/o Zembo Temple, 2801 N. Third St., Harrisburg, PA 17110. The Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, is in charge of arrangements.

Grace L. Reesman
LEWISTOWN - Grace L. Reesman, 82, of Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown, formerly of Rear 122 Electric Ave., Lewistown, died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2001, at the nursing home. Born Feb. 25, 1919, in New Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Joseph McClellan and Florence Maude (Diffenderfer) Elder. Her husband, George B. Reesman, died Dec. 4, 1993. Surviving are: children, John Reesman, Lebanon, Raymond Reesman and Charles Reesman, both of Lewistown; stepchildren, Harold Reesman, McClure, and Shirley Crozier, Arizona; a brother, William Robert Elder II, Texas; and eight grandchildren. She was a registered nurse at the Malta Home, William Penn Nursing Home and Black's Hospital. She was a member of Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church and the Derry Township Senior Citizen Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Thomas Morningstar officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home. Ammon S. 'Dutch' Reichenbach
PORT ROYAL - Ammon S. "Dutch" Reichenbach, 76, of 411 Tuscarora St., Port Royal, fromerly of Mifflin, died at 9:03 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Aug. 11, 1925 in Richfield, he was a son of the late Edgar P. and Ida Mae (Graybill) Reichenbach. His wife Esther L. (Wetzler) Reichenbach preceded him in death on Feb. 16, 1998. Surviving are: a daughter and son, Mrs. Dennis A. (Sharon E.) Harlan, Honey Grove RR1, and Frederick A. Reichenbach, Mifflin; sisters, Verna Fertenbaugh, Waynesboro, Evelyn Snyder and Pauline Dressler, both of Freeburg, Erma Reichenbach, Sunbury, Beulah Shirk, Richfield and June Jaffee, Yountville, CA; and two grandsons. He was preceded in death by a brother, Brian Reichenbach. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Crawford-Brubaker VFW Post No. 5863, Mifflintown, and of the American Legion Post No. 298, Mifflintown. He retired with 40-plus years of service as a truck driver for C.D. Zimmerman Truck Lines, Mifflintown. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home, 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Douglas Compton officiating. Interment will be in Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown RR4, where a burial flag will be folded and presented by the Juniata County Veterans Council. Friends may call from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the fuenral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Louise M. Reish
CENTRE HALL - Louise M. Reish, 79, of Centre Hall, died at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at the Fairways at Brookline Village, State College. Born July 28, 1921, in Potter Township, Centre County, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Margretta (Tressler) Miller. Surviving are: a sister, Helen Gilbert, Belleville; a brother, Randall Miller, Rural Spring Mills; three nephews and one niece. She graduated from Centre Hall-Potter Township High School in 1937. She worked as a teller at Mid-State Bank and Trust Company and at First National Bank of Centre Hall for 12 years. She also worked as a real estate sales person for Coldwell Banker for many years. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Centre Hall. A memorial service is planned for later in the summer. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Trinity United Church of Christ, PO Box 212, Centre Hall, PA 16828.

Donald A. 'Big Hank' Renninger
BEAVERTOWN - Donald A. "Big Hank" Renninger, 66, of Beavertown, died at 3:05 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2001, at Hershey Medical Center. Born June 13, 1934, in Mattawana, he was a son of the late Bruce M. and Alice M. (Rittenhouse) Renninger. His wife, Naomi M. Richard, whom he married Oct. 20, 1970, survives. Also surviving are: twin daughters, Chrissy D. and Sheena D. Renninger, at home and three sons, Roy W. Richard, McClure, Bruce D. Renninger, Beavertown and Daniel J. Renninger, at home; a sister, Blanche Bilger, Lewistown RR2; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Freda Thompson and Erma Youtzy and three brothers, David Renninger, Russell Renninger and Roy "Ed" Renninger. He retired in 1991 from DeVecchis and Son after 30 years as a truck driver. He had worked for Ace Doran earlier in life, also as a truck driver. He enjoyed his grandchildren and driving truck. Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Beavertown chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with the Rev. Barbara G. Woodling and the Rev. John W. Moyle officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
