Neil G. Stuck
BELLEVILLE - Neil G. Stuck, 58, of 3982 E. Main St., Belleville, died at 10:26 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2001, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital. Born March 19, 1943, in Belleville, he was a son of the late Rush G. and A. Mildred (Crownover) Stuck. His wife, Carol A. (Wilson) Stuck, whom he married July 11, 1964, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Stephen (Beth) Treaster, Belleville, Mrs. Richard (Wende) Glenny, Huntingdon RR2 and Cathy J. Stuck, at home; brothers and sisters, Thelma Byler, Rush G. Stuck Jr., Glen P. Stuck and Dean G. Stuck, all of Belleville, and Kenn G. Stuck, Milroy; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael L. Stuck on Jan. 3, 1965, and by an infant sister. He worked for 30 years as a roofer at J.M. Young and Sons in Belleville, and was recently working for Peachey Foods in Belleville. He was a social member of the Stroup Alexander VFW Post 5935, Belleville, and a member of the National Rifle Association. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville, with the Rev. Harold Sharp officiating. Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery, Belleville. Friends may call 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Julia "Fay" Stump
McCLURE - Julia "Fay" Stump, 97, of McClure, died at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at Ohesson Manor, where she had been a resident since May. Born Aug. 19, 1903, in Wagner, she was the daughter of the late William and Mabel (Smith) Kemberling. Her husband, Oscar S. Stump, whom she married on Nov. 7, 1931, died in 1965. She is survived by: two daughters, Mrs. Ellsworth "Slug" (Jean) Dean and Mrs. George (Patsy) Stoianoff, both of McClure; three grandchildren, a great-grandchild and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Essene Goss and Zelda Kahley, and a brother, Thorald Kemberling. She was a member of Lawver's United Methodist Church and she enjoyed cooking and gardening. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the McClure Chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, North Brown Street, McClure. Interment will be in the Lawver's Church Cemetery, McClure. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Lawver's United Methodist Church, McClure, PA, 17811.

Jayne A. Suba
LEWISTOWN - Jayne A. Suba, 57, of SR 103 N., Lewistown, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Sept. 17, 1943, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Jay V. and Sara Ann (Walker) Montgomery. Her husband, William R. Suba, whom she married in 1972, survives. Also surviving are: children, Amy L. Backus, New York, Carol A. Arvidson, Maryland; and brothers, Jay R. Montgomery, Bellefonte, and Larry K. Montgomery, Lewistown. She was a graduate of Lewistown High School and Roxborough Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at the Malta Home, Lewistown Hospital, Black's Hospital and William Penn Nursing Home. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. Her service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Dean M. Bobb officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of PA, 4080 Linglestown Rd., Suite 201, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Perry E. Swanger
LEWISTOWN - Perry E. Swanger, 69, of 3135 U.S. Highway 522N, Lewistown, died at 4:33 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born April 2, 1932, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late William and Ruth (Arnold) Swanger. His wife, Hannelore (Schroeder) Swanger, whom he married on May 5, 1965, survives. Also surviving are: two daughters, Verena A. Seby of 406 Open Hearth Manor, Lewistown and Lisa M. Farber of Worcester, MA; two brothers, Robert L. Swanger of Enola and Douglas E. Swanger of Chambersburg; five brothers and sisters, Betty Maben of Milroy, Harry Swanger of Lewistown, Goldie Wileman of Reading, Richard Swanger of New Lancaster Valley and Silver Vermilion of Coburn; six grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. He was a truck driver for Crown Motor Freight, Womelsdorf, retiring in 1978. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham with the Rev. Gerald A. Krum officiating. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.

William Swanger
MILROY - William Swanger, 74, of 856 Lower Creek Road, Milroy, died at 5:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at Lewistown Hospital. Born April 20, 1927, in Siglerville, he was the son of the late Jacob Isaac and Martha Irene (Lentz) Swanger. He was raised by foster parents, the late Herman and Carrie McKee. His wife, Betty (Flood) Swanger, whom he married Aug. 21, 1948, survives. Also surviving are: children, Thomas W. Swanger, Carlisle and Deborah I. Hayes, Bel Air, MD; a brother, Ralph Swanger, Montana; foster brother, Harry McKee, Strodes Mills; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Edith Mae Ramsey, Frances Louise Russell, George A. Swanger, John R. Swanger and Eugene C. Swanger; and foster brother, Harry McKee. He was a retired United States Army veteran, having served from 1945-1972 and serving in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. He attended St. Marks United Methodist Church, Havice Valley and the Towsen State University, Baltimore, MD. His service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with Marshall Deckard officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Marks United Methodist Church Building Fund, 293 Havice Valley Road, Milroy, PA 17063.

Winafred H. 'Fritz' Swanger
CENTRE HALL - Winafred H. "Fritz" Swanger, 74, of Earlystown RR, Centre Hall, died at 12:35 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at her residence. Born July 18, 1926, in Milroy, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Emma (Alexander) Harman. Her husband, Russell L. Swanger, whom she married Nov. 12, 1949, survives. She is also survived by children, Sally Louise Swanger, Centre Hall and Russell Lewis Swanger, State College; a sister, Arlene Reigle, Reedsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. She was a retired bookkeeper/clerk with the family business, Swanger Drugs in Centre Hall and later worked for the Penns Valley Pharmacy, Spring Mills. She was Lutheran by faith. She was an avid reader and was an animal lover, especially dogs. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. The Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, is in charge of arrangements.

Rachel E. Swarey
REEDSVILLE - Rachel E. Swarey, 78, of 1986 Green Lane, Reedsville, died at 6:25 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, at Lewistown Hospital. Born on March 20, 1923, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Y. and Fannie R. (Peachey) Peachey. Her husband, Daniel J. Swarey, whom she married on March 28, 1940, survives. Also surviving are: children, Jesse D. Swarey, Reedsville RD, Mrs. Johnny (Fannie) Eicher, Uniontown, AL, Naomi Swarey, Reedsville RD, Crist J. Swarey, Almena, WS, Susie E. Swarey, Reedsville RD, Benjamin H. Swarey, Reedsville RD, Amos J. Swarey, El Dorado, KS and Mrs. Royce (Rachel) Koehn, Jamesport, MO; brothers and sister, Joe I. Peachey, Aaron Z. Peachey, Benjamin Z. Peachey and Eli B. Peachey, all of Belleville RD, and Mrs. John (Salina) Renno, Northumberland; 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel P. Swarey, a brother, Daniel J. Peachey, and a sister, Sadie Peachey. A homemaker, she was also a member of the Rock Haven Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Belleville. Her funeral service is at 10 a.m. Monday at Rock Haven Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Belleville, with ministers Amos Peachey and Sylvan Yoder officiating. Interment will be in Rock Haven Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the church. Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville is handling the funeral arrangements.

Arlene W. Swartz
PORT ROYAL - Arlene W. Swartz, 82, of Port Royal RR2, died at 1:05 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born Nov. 12, 1918, in Walker Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Walter A. and Josephine (Auker) Winey. Her husband, Harry F. "Bud" Swartz, died Oct. 10, 1997. Surviving are: children, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Henderson, Port Royal, Mrs. Lester (Vera) Zimmerman Jr., Mifflintown, Karl B. Swartz, Gainesville, Fla., and Rodney P. Swartz, Gettysburg; brother and sisters, Wade Winey, Mifflintown, Jean Titzell, Camp Hill and Ann Fitting, Bradenton, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was a graduate of Mifflintown High School. She was a member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church, and the Mifflin Chapter 260 Order of the Eastern Star. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Marton J. Roberson officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Nook. Friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday at the funeral home.
