C. Edward Terry
HUNTINGDON - C. Edward Terry, 67, of Huntingdon, died at 1:40 p.m., Thursday, July 26, 2001 at his residence. Born October 18, 1933 in Roanoke, VA, he was the son of the late Mahala Jane Terry. His wife, Bonnie (Bair) Terry, whom he married in Lewistown on Nov. 23, 1990, survives. Also surviving are: three daughters, Melanie Ann Smith of Florida, Letitia Hope LeCompte of Greenville, SC, and Sheila Kay Lambert of Roanoke, VA; three step-sons, Travis J. Shope of Cookville, TN, Troy D. Shope of Fairbanks and Tyson C.W. Shope of Tiffin, OH; a step-daughter, Trista L. Shope of State College; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Terry. He received an associate degree in accounting from Virginia Tech and was a former member of F&AM Roanoke Lodge in Roanoke, VA. He worked for General Electric for 35 years, but retiring in 1989. In 1979, he received the "salesman of the year award" worldwide. Most recently, he was employed as a van oxygen technician for Dick's Home Care in Huntingdon and was the proprietor/owner of Pop's Pizza in Huntingdon. He served in the United State Air Force from 1951-1954, serving during the Korean conflict. He attained the rank of Airman First Class in the air police and played baseball while stationed in Guam. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and refinishing old furniture. Services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington St., Huntingdon, with Pastor Jack Lancaster officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 810, Huntingdon, PA, 16652; the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 302, Howard, PA, 16841-0302; or Huntingdon County Pride, Inc., 307 10th St., Huntingdon, PA, 16652.

Marjorie 'Jean' Thomas
LEWISTOWN - Marjorie "Jean" Thomas, 80, a resident of Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, died at 7:47 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2001, at the nursing home. Born May 21, 1920, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Merrill and Gertrude Jenny ( Sager) Snook. Her husband, Hurley E. Thomas, died in 1976. She is survived by children, Mrs. Ronald (Kathleen) Menaker, Franklin Lakes, NJ, Stephen Thomas, Fort Collins, Colo., Mrs. Stephen (Christina) Pebley, Harrisburg, Mrs. Ronnie (Amy) Stuck, Lewistown, and Christopher Thomas, Camp Hill; sisters, Mrs. John (Janet) Kelso, Waldwick, NJ and Mrs. Frank (Patricia) Huff, Franklin; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Thomas in 1994 and one brother. She was a veteran of World War II, having served as a WAC in the United States Navy. She was a homemaker and worked in various positions at the Lewistown Hospital and was a hostess at Heller's Burnham Funeral Home. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lewistown and the Lewistown Chapter 283, Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a volunteer for Hospice: The Bridge. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Dale Hippensteel and the Rev. Clifford R. Miller Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Family will receive friends 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Sara M. Thomas
SELINSGROVE - Sara M. Thomas, 80, of Selinsgrove, formerly of Beavertown, died at 11:10 a.m. Saturday March 10, 2001, at Evangelical Community Hospital. Born July 29, 1920, in Adams Township, Snyder County, she was a daughter of the late Elmer B. and A. Blanche (Schrader) Hassinger. Her husband, Carl Hetrick Thomas, whom she married in 1940, died Dec. 30, 1999. She is survived by children, Mrs. John (Rita) Solie, Lebanon, Fred Thomas, Carlisle and Lynn Thomas, Beavertown; a brother, Harold S. Hassinger, Middleburg; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Beavertown. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Busy Beaver Craft Club, the Selinsgrove Senior Center and the Beaver Springs Home and School Club, where she had served as President. She enjoyed crafts, reading and sewing. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Beavertown chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with the Rev. Nancy Moyer officiating. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown. Friends may call 4-9 p.m.Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Beavertown, PA 17813.

Dennis R. Thompson Sr.
HONEY GROVE - Dennis R. Thompson Sr., 85, of Honey Grove RR1, died at 6:26 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born Jan. 6, 1916, in Ashland, VA, he was a son of the late William C. and Laura (Powers) Thompson. His wife, Laverne (Butler) Thompson, preceded him in death. Surviving are: a son, Pastor Dennis R. Thompson Jr., Honey Grove RR1; a sister, Lena Farish, Glen Allen, VA; three grandchildren and four great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by five brothers. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, and served aboard the USS Bunker Hill. He was a retired test driver for General Motors Corporation, Baltimore, MD. He was also a former professional baseball player, having played for the Baltimore Orioles and the Boston Red Sox. He was a member of the South Juniata Baptist Church, Honey Grove. Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the South Juniata Baptist Church, with Pastor Dennis R. Thompson Jr. officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico, VA, where military honors will be conducted, with the Rev. Troy Wolfley officiating. Family will receive friends 6 p.m. until the time of the service today at the church. Family requests that there be no flowers. The Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove, is in charge of arrangements.

Ethel L. Thompson
FRONT ROYAL, VA - Ethel Louise Oldt Thompson, 75, of Front Royal, VA died Thursday, April 26, 2001 at her residence. Born in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late William G. and Anna M. (Paige) Oldt. Her husband, Clarence H. Thompson, preceded her in death in 1992. Surviving are: a son, Larry Kent Thompson, Front Royal, VA; brothers, Paul Oldt, Front Royal, VA, Miles Oldt, Winchester, VA and Donald Oldt, Herndon; and two grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, 1200 N. Shenandoah Ave., Front Royal, VA, with Richard Ridgeway officiating. Interment will be in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Waterlick, VA.

Anna E. Timko
DALTON - Anna E. Timko, 83, of 306 S. Turnpike Road, Dalton, formerly of Mexico, PA, died at 4:05 a.m. Sunday, July 8, 2001, at her home. Born Oct. 31, 1917, in Clearfield, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Bernice (Hall) Wise. Her husband, Michael Timko, died Jan. 6, 1987. Surviving are: three sons, Thomas R. Timko, Glassboro, NJ, Larry R. Timko, Norristown, and William M. Timko, Dalton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by two brothers. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Union Cemetery, Walker Township, Juniata County. There will be no viewing. Rex Funeral Home, 308 Market St., Port Royal, is in charge of arrangements.

Jeanne Y. Treaster
BELLEVILLE - Jeanne Y. Treaster, 75, a resident of Valley View Retirement Community, Belleville, formerly of Milroy, died at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Valley View. Born Aug. 15, 1925, in Milroy, she was the daughter of the late Clarence G. and C. Luella (Tressler) Davidson. Her husband, Jay Edward Treaster, died May 31, 1998. She is survived by children, Daryl J. Treaster and Cathy L. Keiser, both of Milroy and Jaylene Y. Miller, Hanover; sister and brother, Mrs. Richard (Shirley) Peck, Lewistown and Ronald Davidson, Mechanicsburg; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Craig D. Treaster on May 3, 1997 and a sister, Margaret Smithers. She was employed by the Milroy Dry Cleaners and Fisher Electronics. She was a member of Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church, Reedsville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church, 99 Taylor Drive, Reedsville, with the Rev. Douglas D. Sabin officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice: The Bridge, 1126 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, PA 17044 or to Valley View Retirement Community, 4702 E. Robert M. Trego
THREE SPRINGS - Robert M. Trego, 71, of Three Springs, died at 5:18 a. m. Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Jan. 20, 1930, in Lack Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late John W. and Grace (Burdge) Trego. His wife, Joyce B. (Everhart) Trego, whom he married Dec. 22, 1951, in Winchester, VA, survives. Also surviving are: children: Donald L. Trego, HCR 60, Orbisonia and R. Dean Trego, Three Springs; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Paul (Phyllis) Shaw, Perulack, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Miller, New Bloomfield, Donn Trego, Newark, DE and Ronald Trego, Fredricea, DE; two grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by: a sister, Mary Jane Peterson, and two brothers, John Trego Jr. and James Trego. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1947-1951. He retired in l 989 after 35 years as owner-operator of Robert M. Trego Excavating, Three Springs. Prior to that, he was employed by S. Wade Norris Construction Company, Wible Bottling Works Inc., Three Springs and General Motors in Delaware. He attended Grace United Methodist Church, Three Springs and was also a member of the East Waterford Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Madden-Wennick Post 518 American Legion, Rockhill Furnace; the Three Springs Lions Club; the Southern Huntingdon County Young Farmers Association; the Three Springs Historical Society; was a life member of the Three Springs Fire Company and board member of the Three Springs Cemetery Association. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with Pastor Bonnie Ort and the Rev. William Hughes officiating. Interment will be in the Three Springs Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
