Donald H. Wagner
MILL HALL - Donald H. Wagner, 80, of 2246 Long Run Road, Mill Hall, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in the emergency room of Lock Haven Hospital. Born June 29, 1920, in McClure, he was the son of the late Hurley and Bessie (Houser) Wagner. His wife, Geraldine J. (Gummo) Wagner, whom he married June 29, 1946 in Lock Haven, survives. Also surviving are: children, Carol A. Floruss, Woolrich and Donald R. Wagner, Lock Haven; sisters, Pauline Trego and Melda Leister, both of Lewistown and Faye Romig, McClure; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a welder and worked for American Color & Chemical, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Lock Haven American Legion, and Chef De Gare of the 40 et 8 Voiture 903, Mill Hall. He attended Rote United Methodist Church. Services were held at the convenience of the family at the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, Mill Hall, with the Rev. P. Franklin Hartzel Jr. officiating. Interment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Rosecrans, Greene Township. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Rote United Methodist Church, c/o the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, PA 17751.

Edward H. Wagner
BEAVER SPRINGS - Edward H. Wagner, 72, of Beaver Springs RR1, died at 4:20 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2001, at his home. He had been in ill health for the past year and a half. Born Oct. 8, 1928 in West Beaver Township, Snyder County, he was a son of the late Lester H. and Viola M. (Snook) Wagner. His wife of 50 years, Elsie Loys Fleming Wagner, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Jim R. (Sue A.) Kreamer, Troxelville, Mrs. Michael L. (Wendy L.) Wright and Steven A. Wagner, both of Beaver Springs RR1, Jeffrey N. Wagner, McAlisterville RR1 and Jerry L. Wagner, McClure RR2; a brother Robert O. Wagner, Beaver Springs RR1; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Mae Wagner and two sons, Fred LeRoy Wagner and James Monroe Wagner, all in infancy; twin sisters, Grace and Ethel Wagner; and a brother, Paul E. Wagner. He attended Beaver Vocational High School and graduated from McClure High School in 1948. He retired in 1996, from Lozier, McClure, after 35 years of service in the tool and die department. He was a member of the Bannerville Church of the Brethren, where he served as a deacon of the church, Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir. In 1999, he went along to Little Rock, Ark. with Christian Endeavor to assist the tornado victims. He had donated nearly 10 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross through the years, and through this, learned of his leukemia. Earlier in life, he taught the youth at St. John's Ridge Church. He was a member of the McClure Volunteer Fire Company, the Beaver Springs Volunteer Fire Company and the Bannerville Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed working with wood and mechanical things. Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bannerville Church of the Brethren, Bannerville, with the Rev. Liane Wagner and the Rev. Kenneth Wagner officiating. Interment will be in the Bannerville Cemetery. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Saturday at the Beavertown chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, where the family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: SUN Home Health Services, 61 Duke St., Northumberland, PA 17857-9985 or the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.

Eugene W. 'Minute' Wagner
LEWISTOWN - Eugene W. "Minute" Wagner, 80, of 132 S. Main St., Lewistown, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at the James E. VanZandt V.A. Medical Center, Altoona. Born July 18, 1920, in Reedsville, he was the son of the late Walter Eugene and Dora (Himes) Wagner. He is survived by children, James E. Wagner, Quarryville, Patricia A. Sperling, Millersville, and Karen C. Glah, Lancaster; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was the last of his immediate family. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a survivor of Pearl Harbor. He had worked for Lingle Distributing, Lewistown. He was a member of VFW Post 7011, Lewistown and a member of their honor guard. He was also a member and past commander of the Lewistown American Legion. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main St., Reedsville, with the Rev. Douglas D. Sabin officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville, with military honors by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: World War II Memorial Fund, Battle Monument Commission, Attn: GR048, PO Box 96074, Washington, DC 20090-6074.

Fay L. 'Skunk' Wagner
YEAGERTOWN - Fay L. "Skunk" Wagner, 92, of 302 N. Main St., Yeagertown, died at 1:15 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2001, at Lewistown Hospital. Born April 17, 1909, in Armagh Township, Mifflin County, he was the son of the late William Bryson and Elva B. (Krichbaum) Wagner. His wife, Caroline V. (Eisenhower) Wagner, died in 1981. His companion, Dorothy Baker of Open Hearth Manor, Lewistown, survives. He is also survived by children, Jerry L. Wagner, Reedsville, Mickey L. Wagner, Milroy and Mrs. C. Edward (Deanna) Fulton, Burnham; sister and brothers, Cora Shirey and Joe C. Wagner, both of Lewistown and Brownie Wagner, Burnham; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Wagner and a sister, Isabelle Vawn. He, along with his wife, established the Fay L. Wagner Recapping and Tire Service in Yeagertown in 1952 and worked there until his retirement. He attended Holy Communion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Yeagertown and was a member of the Milroy Lions Club; the East End Blue Rock Sportsmen's Club; the National Rifle Association; and was a charter member of the Nittany Antique Machinery Association Inc. of Central Pennsylvania. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. J. Faust Hissong officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Ohesson Manor Activities Fund, 276 Green Ave., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Florence A. Wagner
LEWISTOWN - Florence A. Wagner, 97, of Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin, formerly of Parkview, Burnham, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born April 11, 1904, in Treaster Valley, she was the daughter of the late Howard Ambrose and Fannie Bigelow (Treaster) Wagner. Her husband, Martin Luther Wagner, died Nov. 26, 1969. Surviving are: children, William R. Wagner, New Lancaster Valley, Roy L. Wagner, Grove Port, OH and Chester E. Wagner, McClure; a sister, Beatrice Deamer, Burnham; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Earl E. Wagner. She had been employed by the Arrow Shirt Factory and the American Viscose Corporation. She was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church, Spring Street, Lewistown. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with Pastor Roland Pecht officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Helen I. Wagner
MILL CREEK - Helen I. Wagner, 86, of HCR 61, Mill Creek, died at 6:10 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2001, at the J C Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born Dec. 7, 1914, in Newton Hamilton, he was the son of the late William and Viola (Moist) Kauffman. Her husband, Raymond C. Wagner, whom she married Aug. 23, 1943, died Dec. 15, 1981. Surviving are: children: Donald S. Kauffman of Pine Glen, McVeytown, Pat Gladfelter and Richard L. Wagner, both of HCR 61, Mill Creek, Connie Weaver of Shirleysburg RR1 and Charles N. Wagner of Palmyra and Linda Fortney of Mount Union RR1; three nephews raised in the home, Edward Woods of Huntingdon, Dean Woods of HCR 61, Mill Creek, and Pete Woods of Huntingdon; 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren; two brothers, Ross Kauffman and Joseph Kauffman; and a sister, Margaret Woods. She was a graduate of Huntingdon High School. She retired in 1980 from Owens-Corning Fiberglass in Huntingdon and prior to that she worked at the American Viscose Corp. in Lewistown. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Mill Creek. She was a member and Past Matron of the Mount Union Chapter 280 Order of the Eastern Star; member and Past Royal Matron of Juniata Valley Court 121 Order of Amaranth; and had served in various state appointments in both of these organizations in the past. She was board member and past Recorder of Oneida Assembly 172, International Order of Rainbow for Girls, where she received the Grand Cross of Color. She was also a member of the Mill Creek Fire Company auxiliary. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Faust Hissong officiating. Interment will be in the Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg RR1. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. There will be an Eastern Star and Amaranth memorial service at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Jeremiah R. 'Jerry' Wagner
BEAVERTOWN - Jeremiah R. "Jerry" Wagner, 59, of Beavertown, died at 4:10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at his home. Born Nov. 21, 1941, in Beavertown, he was the son of Cora E. (Bowersox) Wagner of Beavertown and the late Andrew G. Wagner. His wife, Linda A. (Richard) Wagner, whom he married Aug. 26, 1967, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Bradley G. (Tammy A.) Brought, Middleburg RR4 and Timothy A. Wagner, Beavertown; and three grandchildren. He was a 1959 graduate of West Snyder High School, where he played in the band. He also attended York Junior College and Susquehanna University. He was last employed by the Midd-West School District as a custodian at West Beaver Elementary School. He was a surveyor for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He also owned and operated the Beavertown Shooter's Supply and had a distribution route for Aurand's Distributors. He enjoyed singing in Aurand's Men's Chorus during the 60's and 70's. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, fly tying, gospel singing, singing solos in church and quartet singing. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Beavertown. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Beavertown chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with the Rev. Thomas Schroeder and the Rev. Denton Malloney officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Paul's United Church in Christ, Beavertown, PA 17813 or to SUN Home Health Services, 61 Duke St., Northumberland, PA 17857-9985.

Madaline R. Wagner
REEDSVILLE - Madaline R. Wagner, 86, of 28 Mountain View Drive, Reedsville, died at 10:40 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn. Born Nov. 26, 1914, in Greensburg, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Clara (Thatcher) Rose. Her husband, Harry M. Wagner, whom she married Feb. 6, 1960, survives. Also surviving are: daughters, Sharon D. Long, Reedsville and Nancy C. Demskie, Lewistown; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six sisters. She was employed as a waitress at various area restaurants. She was a member of the Yeagertown United Methodist Church and the Pensioneers Club. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Thomas B. Morningstar officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the Yeagertown United Methodist Church, Mann Avenue, Yeagertown, PA 17099.
