Paul Edward Bricker Sr.
MCALISTERVILLE - Paul Edward Bricker Sr., 92, of McAlisterville, formerly of Orlando, Fla. and Harrisburg, died Monday, April 3, 2000, at his home.

Born March 5, 1908, in York, he was a son of the late Lloyd S. and Daisey A. (Swartz) Bricker. His wife of 71 years, M. Florence Bricker, preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 1999.

Surviving are: children, Paul Edward Bricker Jr. and Patricia A. Bisbing, both of Orlando, Fla., James Park Bricker, McAlisterville and Deborah G. Miles, Tabernacle, N.J.; a brother, Robert Bricker, Waynesboro; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

He retired from Duffy-Mott Fruit Processing Company, Aspers, in 1973.

He was a craftsman of wood, leather and other materials throughout his life.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, McAlisterville.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening and singing in church choirs.

A date and time for the memorial service will be announced later and interment will be at the convenience of the family in Mount Rose Cemetery, York.

Memorial contributions may be made to HOSPICE: The Bridge, 1126 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, PA 17044 or to the Carillon Fund, Trinity Lutheran Church, PO Box 15, McAlisterville, PA 17049.

The Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, is in charge of arrangements.

David S. Briggs Sr.
NEWTON HAMILTON - David S. Briggs Sr., 43, of 80 Memorial Drive, Newton Hamilton, died at 6:24 Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, following a serious illness.

Born May 31, 1956, in Huntingdon, he was a son of Charles C. and Patricia (Kilcullen) Briggs, McVeytown RR. His wife, Mary "Lucy" (Wallace) Briggs, whom he married in Winchester, Va., Nov. 22, 1996, survives.

Also surviving are: children, David S. Briggs Jr., Three Springs, Shem D. Miller, McVeytown RR1, and Douglas N. Briggs, Huntingdon; stepchildren, Rick Hampton, Mount Union, and Jamie Hipp, McVeytown RR1; brothers and sisters, Barbara G. White and Patrick K. Briggs, both of McVeytown RR1, Charles C. Briggs Jr., Roxbury, and John C. Briggs, Newport; three grandchildren; one step-grandson; and paternal step-grandmother, Frances Briggs, Belleville.

He was a 1974 graduate of Mount Union Area High School.

He was employed by the Industrial Hardwood Corp. of Mount Union RR for many years and, prior to that, for several years by Hamilton Farms, McVeytown RR.

He was a member of Newton Hamilton United Methodist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Grundon officiating. Interment will be in Newton Hamilton Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Harry W. Briggs Jr.
NEW CUMBERLAND - Harry W. Briggs Jr., 77, of New Cumberland, died at 3:45 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2000, at his residence.

Born Oct. 10, 1922, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Ethel (Young) and Harry W. Briggs Sr. His wife, Virginia (Pensinger) Briggs, died Dec. 7, 1994.

Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Creedin (Patricia Ann) Otto, Mechanicsburg; brother and sister, Joseph Wesley Briggs, Granville and Patricia Goss, Lewistown; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick I. Briggs.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was employed by the Book of the Month Club.

He was a member of the Mechanicsburg Club.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Karen McCachren officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville, where graveside military services will be conducted by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Iva A. Brindel
BELLEVILLE - Iva A. Brindel, 80, of 240 Hartzler Drive, Belleville, died at 5:07 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at the Lewistown Hospital.

Born Nov. 5, 1918, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Carrie Arnold. Her husband, Paul E. Brindel, survives.

She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. James (Hazel) Morgan, Kreamer.

She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

She had worked at the Singer Sewing Company, Lewistown and as an operator for Bell of Pennsylvania.

She was a member of the Church Hill United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Richard J. Bender officiating.

There will be no public viewing.

Memorial contributions may be made to: the Church Hill United Methodist Church, Church Hill, Reedsville, PA 17084.

The Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy A. Brininger
BRADENTON, Fla. - Dorothy A. Brininger, 79, of Bradenton, Fla, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Born April 7, 1920, in Milroy, she was a daughter of the late James Rush and Mary M. (Treaster) McNitt. Her first husband, Clifford E. Freed, died in October of 1968. Her second husband, Alton S. Brininger, survives.

Also surviving are: a son, William Freed, Minneapolis, Minn.; sisters and brothers, Catherine Claypool and Betty Wise, both of Tampa, Fla., Evelyn Kline, Baltimore, Md., Margaret Herto, William McNitt and Larry McNitt, all of Reedsville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She retired as a supervisor for J.C. Penney, Bradenton, Fla.

She was Lutheran by faith.

Services were private and at the convenience of the family.

The Brown & Sons Funeral Homes, 26th Street Chapel, Bradenton, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.

The Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, provided local information.

Pearl Irene Brininger
REEDSVILLE - Pearl Irene Brininger, 83, of 58 Chestnut St., Reedsville, died at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown.

Born Dec. 13, 1915, in Port Royal, she was a daughter of the late Thomas P. and Cora L. (Gray) Flood. Her husband, Clarence Burton Brininger, died Oct. 23, 1978.

Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Janet Lucille Spickler, Reedsville; a sister, Geraldine Hoffman, Reedsville; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Wagner, and an infant granddaughter.

She was a member of the Reedsville United Methodist Church and the Milroy Senior Citizens.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bohn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard J. Bender officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Eva M. Brosius
SELINSGROVE - Eva M. Brosius, 81, a resident of the Penn Lutheran Village, Selinsgrove, formerly of Mount Pleasant Mills RR1, died Monday, April 19, 1999, at the village.

Born Feb. 13, 1918, in Perry Township, Snyder County, she was a daughter of the late Rover W. and Cora Alice (Strawser) Rauch. Her husband, Ray A. Brosius, died in 1976.

Surviving are: a sister, Jane Strawser, Liverpool RR1; two brothers, Junior Rauch, Mount Pleasant Mills RR1, and Paul Rauch, Port Trevorton RR1; a niece and two nephews.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, with the Rev. John L. Rauch officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills.

There will be no public viewing.

Emma Rebecca Brower
TROY - Emma Rebecca Brower, 15 months old, of Troy RR3, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Geisinger Medical Center.

Born in October of 1998, in Sayre, she was a daughter of the Rev. Mark and Susan Brower of Troy RR3.

Also surviving are: brother and sister, Eric S. Dillman and Anna Catherine Brower, both at home; maternal grandfather, Robert Bruce, Port Royal; and paternal grandparents, Marlin and Dolores Brower, Lewistown.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Helen Bruce.

She was baptized at East Troy United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at McVeytown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Marian Hartman and the Rev. James T. Dawes officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 11 a.m until the time of services Tuesday at the church.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Columbia Cross United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Allen Hulslander and the Rev. James T. Dawes officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
