Caroline M. Dillman
PORT ROYAL - Caroline M. Dillman, 60, of Port Royal RR3, died Monday, June 5, 2000, at Hershey Medical Center. Born Sept. 4, 1939, in Sunbury, she was the daughter of the late Elwood Solomon and Pauline Mae (Hoffman) Frederick. Her husband, Donald C. Dillman, whom she married Nov. 7, 1991, survives. Also surviving are sisters and brothers, Ruth Roush, Winfield, Betty Reichenbach, Sunbury, Albert Frederick, Independence, Mo., and Elwood Solomon Frederick Jr., Phoenixville. She was a 1959 graduate of Greenwood Joint High School, Millerstown. She worked as a seamstress in various area sewing factories. She was a member of Milton Baptist Temple. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Archie A. Chappell Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mildred Dippery
LEWISTOWN - Mildred Dippery, 81, of Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, died at 11:05 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, at the manor. Born May 18, 1919, in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Erhart and Ella (Springer) Metzger. Her husband, Glenn J. Dippery, died March 5, 1986. Surviving are: a stepdaughter, Mrs. Darrell (Patricia) Taylor, Strasburg; a brother, Robert Metzger, Columbia; several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. She was a 1936 graduate of Columbia High School, Columbia and a graduate of the Episcopal School of Nursing, Philadelphia. She was a registered nurse and head nurse of pediatrics at the Lewistown Hospital for 28 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Lewistown. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia, with the Rev. Dale Moyer officiating. There will be no viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Josephine 'Josie' Morrison Dixon
GRANVILLE - Josephine "Josie" Morrison Dixon, 71, a resident of the Malta Home, Granville, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at the home, after a long illness. Born Aug. 7, 1928, in Fresno, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred Morrison. She is survived by: sisters, Virginia Everhardt, Walbridge, Ohio, Carolyn Widener, Blakely, Ga., and Regis Britton, Hampton, Va.; brothers, Frederick Morrison, Bossier City, La., Donald Morrison and Richard Morrison, both of Hampton, Va. A memorial service was held Tuesday. The Neill Funeral Home, Derry Street, Harrisburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Anna R. Dobson
MILROY - Anna R. Dobson, 76, of 4825 New Lancaster Valley Road, Milroy, died at 7:50 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at her residence. Born Sept. 15, 1923, in Burnham, she was the daughter of the late Thomas M. and Mary F. (Condron) McCartle. Her first husband, Clayton H. W. Lash, died in 1957 and her second husband, James M. Dobson Sr., whom she married June 26, 1975, survives. Also surviving are: children, Charles E. Lash, Mary C. Knepp, and Thomas M. Lash, all of New Lancaster Valley; stepchildren, Mrs. William (Brenda L.) Fisher and Mrs. Herbert (Phyllis J.) Fisher, both of McClure, Mrs. Edward (Mary G.) Davidson, Ash, N.C., Mrs. Robin (Barbara L.) Knepp, Beaver Springs, James M. Dobson Jr., Lewistown, and Martin E. Dobson, New Lancaster Valley; sisters, Kathryn Mattice, Rochester, N.Y., Margaret Wyland, Sebring, Fla., and Dorothy Clark, Yeagertown; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Clayton Lee Lash in 1981; a daughter, Carole A. Walter in 1999; four brothers and three sisters. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. S. Ken Gordon officiating. Interment will be in the New Lancaster Valley Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

George Franklin 'Boops' Dreese
KREAMER - George Franklin "Boops" Dreese, 78, of Kreamer, died at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at the Evangelical Community Hospital, in Lewisburg. Born March 8, 1922, in Washington Township, Snyder County, he was a son of the late Vern and Edna Vedora (Wagner) Dreese. His wife, Gladys L. (Gift) Dreese, whom he married March 22, 1941, survives. Also surviving are: children, Kenneth G. Dreese, Thompsontown RR1, and Mrs. Craig E. (Ruth A.) Zechman, Middleburg RR4; brothers, Harvey Dreese and Eleanor Hornberger, both of Freeburg, Roger Dreese, Dubois, and Dorothy Dauberman, Selinsgrove RR1; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Lorraine Dreese, in infancy and Geraldine Kerlin in 1990; and two brothers, Raymond Dreese and Ralph Dreese. He was educated in the Freeburg Schools. He was a farmer and he retired in 1987 from Penn Lyon Homes, Hummels Wharf, where he was a forklift operator and laborer for six years. Prior to that, he was employed as a laborer for Poleron Homes, Middleburg and Kreamer Feed Company, Kreamer. He also established, owned and operated Dreese's Fruit Farm in Freeburg from 1944-1970. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Freeburg and a life member of the Freeburg Volunteer Fire Company; the Kreamer Sportsmans Association; and the Kreamer Fire Company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the St. Lutheran Church, Freeburg, with the Rev. Timothy W. Bingman officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Freeburg. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant Mills. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Lutheran Church, Memorial Fund, c/o Miss Eleanor Springman, Financial Secretary, PO Box 125, Freeburg, PA 17827.

Gladys Kearns Dressler
MAUI, HAWAII - Gladys Kearns Dressler, 79, of Haiku, Hawaii, formerly of Lewistown, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, at Hale Makua Nursing Home in Maui, Hawaii. Born Dec. 31, 1920, in Burnham, she was a daughter of the late G. Edwin and Ruth (Mertz) Kearns. Her first husband, Paul Hummel, and her second husband, Grant Dressler, both preceded her in death. Surviving are: a daughter, Patricia Hummel, Haiku, Hawaii; and sisters, Dorothy Stenchever, Brooksville, Fla. and Mary Kearns Mandry, Lee's Summit, Mo. She was preceded in death by a son, Neil Edwin Hummel, and by a sister, Jean Kearns McNitt. She was a graduate of Yeagertown High School and of Central Pennsylvania Business College, Harrisburg. She had worked for the past 13 years as a bookkeeper at Doris Todd Memorial Christian School in Hawaii. While living in Lewistown, she worked as a bookkeeper at Standard Steel, Burnham, and for the Ford Motor Company. She was a missionary for 13 years with the Berean Mission Inc. of Maui, Hawaii. She was cremated and a memorial service was held in Maui. Her remains will later be returned to Pennsylvania for burial. The Ballard Family Mortuary in Hawaii is in charge of arrangements.

Herman G. Dressler
MOUNT PLEASANT MILLS - Herman G. Dressler, 86, of 22 Long View Drive, Bloomsburg, formerly of Mount Pleasant Mills RR2, died at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2000, at the home of his daughter in Bloomsburg. Born June 7, 1913, in Juniata County, he was a son of the late William M. and Sarah L. (Kerstetter) Dressler. His wife, Cora A. (Troup) Dressler, whom he married July 28, 1934, died Jan. 5, 2000. Surviving are: children, Wayne E. Dressler, Thompsontown, Mrs. Terrance (Irene L.) Klock, Bloomsburg, and Nancy E. Stroup, McAlisterville; brother and sisters, Elwood Dressler, Mrs. Harvey (Mildred) Dreese, Mrs. Harold (Ann A.) Arbogast, all of Freeburg, Mrs. John (Betty) Stevenson, Mechanicsburg, Mrs. Bruce (Pauline) Gemberling and Wilma Kinney, both of Northumberland, and Nora Shaffer Ramer, Selinsgrove; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Stroup, on Aug. 11, 1983; a great-grandson, Zachary Maneval, in 1998; and five brothers, Grant, Walter, Elmer, John and Ray Dressler. He was educated in Leisters Grammar School House, Buckwheat Valley, Snyder County. He was employed by the Selinsgrove Center for a short period of time and was a farmer, raising potatoes for the state of Pennsylvania. He was a member of Aline United Methodist Church, Mount Pleasant Mills RR1 and attended Light Street United Methodist Church, Light Street, Bloomsburg. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association and the Freemont Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed farming, gardening and picking apples. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Mount Pleasant Mills, with Pastor James E. Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Aline United Methodist Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant Mills. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the Aline United Methodist Church, PO Box 15, Mount Pleasant Mills, PA 17853.

Robert D. Druckemiller
SUN CITY WEST, Ariz. - Robert D. Druckemiller, 80, of Sun City West, Ariz., died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, in Sun City West, Ariz. Born Jan. 24, 1920, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late David C. and Margaret (Miller) Druckemiller. His wife, Barbara (Deihl) Druckemiller of Sun City West, Ariz., survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Teri Devan of Clinton, N.Y. and two grandchildren. He attended Mifflin County schools and graduated from Lewistown High School. He was a United States Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a purchasing agent for New York Airways. He was a 32nd Degree Mason at the Sun City West Masonic Lodge, Arizona. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Clifford Miller officiating. Interment was in Mt. Rock Cemetery.
