Edna V. Inch
SELINSGROVE - Edna V. Inch, 87, of Selinsgrove, formerly of Middleburg, died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at Penn Lutheran Village, Selinsgrove.

Born Jan. 16, 1913, in Franklin Township, Snyder County, she was a daughter of the late George Andrew and Annie (Kratzer) Wagner. Her husband, Clair E. Inch Sr., whom she married Oct. 12, 1929, died Dec. 7, 1993.

Surviving are: children, Mrs. Ralph (Shirley F. ) Musser, Selinsgrove HCR 72, Mrs. Leonard (Velma E.) Ballent, Carlisle, Mrs. Robert (Betty I.) Eberle, Port Trevorton RR2, Mrs. Max (Frances C.) Herman, Winfield RR1, Mrs. Calvin (Linda L.) Fisher and George W. Inch, both of Selinsgrove RR3, and Clair E. Inch Jr., McAlisterville; 20 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters in infancy, Anna Jane and Patricia; three grandchildren, Ronald Musser, Leonard Ballent Jr., and Susan Eberle Brown; one great-grandson, Cameron Inch; four brothers, Irvin, Merrill, Andrew and Stuart; and five sisters, Blanche, Hattie Benner, Gertrude Marker, Curlie Steele and Mertie Kepler.

She, along with her husband, farmed in the Selinsgrove area until 1972, when they moved to Middleburg.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Selinsgrove RR3, and a member of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.

She enjoyed cooking and sewing, especially making doll clothing, quilting and making rugs.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at V. L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, with the Rev. John W. Harkins officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Church Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, RR3, Box 161 C, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.

Ross C. Ingram
STATE COLLEGE - Ross C. Ingram, 88, a resident of University Park Nursing Home, State College, formerly of 207 N. Grand St., Lewistown, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2000, at the nursing home.

Born Oct. 19, 1911, in Altoona, he was a son of the late William M. and Cora (Fleming) Ingram. His wife, Margaret (Shaw) Ingram, whom he married Sept. 19, 1942, survives.

Also surviving are: children, Charles R. Ingram, Bellevue, Wash., and Mary Lou Ingram, Lewistown; sister and brother, Ruth Morgan, Altoona, and Roy Ingram, Selinsgrove.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

He worked as a security guard for the Amercian Viscose Corporation, retiring in 1976 after 34 years of service.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Lewistown, the United Commercial Travelers 591, the ACTWU Retirees, and the American Rifle Association.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Bruce Hinderliter officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.

James D. Irons
BEAVER - James D. Irons, 93, of Brighton Township, formerly of Lewistown, died Monday, April 3, 2000, after a brief illness at the home of his daughter, A. Duane Irons, with whom he had resided for the past four years.

Born March 12, 1907, in Rochester, he was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Noss) Irons. His wife, Kathryn (Overholt) Irons, died Jan. 26, 1982.

Surviving are: three daughters, Barbara J. Brown, Brighton Township, A. Duane Irons, Beaver, and Mrs. William (Lynn E.) Norris, Lewistown; a sister, Dorothy Fay, San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Irons and an infant granddaughter, Susan Lynn Hill.

He was a 1926 graduate of Beaver Area High School and attended Geneva College.

He retired from Kraft Foods, Pittsburgh, as a salesman and plant manager after more than 30 years of service.

He was a member of the Beaver Valley Church of God, Brighton Township.

He was a 32nd degree mason and a 50-year member of St. James Lodge No. 457 F&AM.

He was an avid golfer and sportsman.

Services were held Thursday, April 6, 2000, at the Noll Funeral Home, 333 Third St., Beaver, with the Rev. Rollo Swisher officiating. Interment was in Beaver Cemetery.

A masonic service was conducted at the funeral home by members of the St. James Lodge No. 457 F&AM.

Memorial contributions may be made to: the Memorial Fund of the Beaver Valley Church of God, Beaner Hollow Road, Beaver, PA 15009.

Helen F. Jacobs
MIFFLIN - Helen F. Jacobs, 85, of 1 Parker St., Mifflin, died at 1:14 p.m., Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at Lewistown Hospital.

Born May 12, 1914, in Milford Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Hart C. and Nancy F. (Bossinger) Zeiders. Her husband, William T. Jacobs, preceded her in death Feb. 21, 1988.

Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Leon R. (Johnna L.) Baumgardner of Mifflin; and two grandsons and one great-grandson.

She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by three brothers, David Zeiders, William Zeiders and Charles Zeiders; two sisters, Mabel Howard and Margaret Thompson and one granddaughter, Jodi L. Schlegel.

She was a member of the St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mifflintown RR3, and the Maple Grove Sunday School.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery, Mifflintown RR3.

Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Brown Funeral Home, 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, and Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of services at the church.

Stella G. Jacobs
MIFFLIN - Stella G. Jacobs, 90, a resident of Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin, formerly of Mifflintown RR3, died at 2:10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at the village.

Born July 2, 1909, in Milford Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Clara E. (Farleman) Nipple. Her husband, George S. Jacobs of Locust Grove Retirement Village, survives.

Also surviving are a son, Ronald G. Shivery, Mifflintown RR3 and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, and one granddaughter.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Licking Creek Valley.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Louise Knotts officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Allen C. 'Cliff' Johnson
STRODES MILLS - Allen C. "Cliff" Johnson, 76, of Char Will Lane, Strodes Mills, died at 6:50 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 1999, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn.

Born Jan. 9, 1923, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Clarence M. and Blanche (Weiler) Johnson. His wife, Carrie M. (Miller) Johnson, whom he married March 17, 1944, died May 19, 1991.

Surviving are: a companion, Mary Jane Liveringhouse, Riverside Drive, Lewistown; children, Marlin C. Johnson, Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown, Mrs. William (Dorothy) Grove, Strodes Run Road, Lewistown, Marvin A. Johnson, South Main Street, Lewistown, Cecil E. Johnson, U.S. Highway 522 South, Lewistown, Mrs. Larry (Doris) Mackneer, Mifflintown RR1, Mrs. William (Barbara) Rothrock, Middle Road, McVeytown; brothers and sister, Robert Johnson, Johnstown, George Johnson, Carlisle, Doris Simonetti, Lewistown; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Early in life he was an auto mechanic at Leopold Chevrolet. From 1959 to 1993 he was self-employed at Johnson's Garage, Lewistown.

He attended Lake Park United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with the Rev. Charles Rhodes and the Rev. Raymond Brinson officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

George B. Johnson
CARLISLE - George B. Johnson, 78, of 51 Spring Garden Estates, Carlisle, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at the Sarah A. Todd Home in Carlisle, Cumberland County.

Born Dec. 4, 1921, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Clarence and Blanche (Willey) Johnson. His wife, Margaret K. Johnson, died Feb. 12, 1999.

Surviving are: two daughters, Virginia F. Edwards, Burnham, and Betty J. Pacholski, Lewistown; a brother and sister, Robert C. Johnson, Johnstown, and Doris Simonetti, Lewistown; step-children, Robert E. Billsborough, Fairview, Helen L. Myers, Pleasantville, Violet Slozak, Pittsburgh, and Joan Craig, Youngstown, Ohio; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steven L. Johnson, who died in 1972; and three brothers, Harold Johnson, Lewis Johnson, and Allen "Cliff" Johnson.

He was a U. S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.

He retired in 1986 from Carlisle Syntec Corporation after 16 years of service.

He was a member of the Community Baptist Church, Carlisle. He was also a member of the VFW Post in Mechanicsburg and the Disabled American Veterans Association.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown, with Pastor Larry Lockett officiating.

Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle is in charge of arrangements.

Mary K. Johnson
LEWISTOWN - Mary K. Johnson, 81, a resident of Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, formerly of Burgard Apartments, died at 10:17 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 1999, at the manor.

Born Aug. 25, 1917, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Alice (Nipple) Carter. Her husband, Robert E. Johnson Sr., died Feb. 26, 1977.

Surviving are: children, Mrs. Roy (Barbara) Bubb, 142 W. Railroad St., Reedsville, Robert E. Johnson Jr., Strodes Mills, Mrs. Russell (Beverly) Eby, Yeagertown, Darla J. Johnson and Maurice "Butch" Johnson, both of Lewistown; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was the last of her immediate family having been preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, and one great-granddaughter.

She was Methodist by faith.

She was a seamstress at Arrow Shirt Factory and was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the City, Hook and Ladder Fire Co.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Richard J. Bender officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
