Ethylene M. Yetter
MIFFLINTOWN - Ethylene M. Yetter, 76, of the Brookline Manor and Retirement Village, Mifflintown RR1, formerly of Mifflintown, died at 6:01 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2000, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born Feb. 6, 1924, in Mifflintown, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Martha Jane (Singer) Yetter. She is survived by sisters and brother, Mary J. Yetter and Clinton G. Yetter, both of Mifflintown, and Betty L. Reynolds, Brookline Manor & Retirement Village, Mifflintown RR1; two nieces and seven great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd S. Yetter. She was a 1941 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown. In earlier life, she had worked at Renninger's Textiles and Lyons Fashions, both of Mifflintown and she retired on disability from Lewistown Sports Wear. She was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Brown Funeral home, 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Douglas Compton officiating. Interment will be in the Westminster United Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jack T. Yetter
BURNHAM - Jack T. Yetter, 65, of 516 E. Freedom Ave., Burnham, died at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 13, 1999, at the Hershey Medical Center. Born Nov. 14, 1933, in Mifflin County, he was the son of the late Charles T. and Florence (Sausman) Yetter. His wife, Phyllis (Riden) Yetter, whom he married Jan. 7, 1956, survives. Also surviving are: children, Jack D. Yetter, 42 Lewland Circle, Lewistown, Randy S. Yetter, Selinsgrove, Kevin D. Yetter, Scenic Drive, Lewistown, Marty S. Yetter, Fourth Street, Burnham, and Jodi S. Yetter, at home; sisters and brother, Betty Bearley, Ferguson Valley Road, Lewistown, Beverly Fisher, Highland Ave., Lewistown, Patricia Bloom, Montgomery Ave., Lewistown, and James Yetter, Texas; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Yetter and two infant sisters, Jeanie and Nancy Lee Yetter. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a machinist for Standard Steel for 29 years, retiring on disability in 1990. He was a member of the Woodcarvers Club. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Dale Hippensteel officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no public viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to: the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Building D., Altoona, PA 16601.

Jessie H. Yetter
BEAVERTOWN - Jessie H. Yetter, 93, of Beavertown, died at 10:15 a.m. Friday, April 23, 1999, at Evangelical Community Hospital. Born Feb. 23, 1906, in Blain, she was a daughter of the late John and Theodosia (Martin) Geedey. In 1921, she married Lloyd J. Yetter, who died in 1981. Surviving are: children, Mae Y. Bingman, Marvin E. Yetter and Don L. Yetter, all of Beavertown; a sister, Esther Foltz, Lewistown; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Brown, and six brothers, John "Art", Cloyd, Blair, Paul, Harry and Glen Geedey. She was a member of the Beavertown congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Funeral services were held Monday at the Beavertown chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, with speaker Greg Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown. Memorial contributions may be made to: the Beavertown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Beavertown, PA 17813.

Marvin E. 'Monk' Yetter
BEAVERTOWN - Marvin E. "Monk" Yetter, 72, of 210 Hetrick Road, Beavertown, died at 12:15 p.m. Friday March 31, 2000, at Evangelical Community Hospital. Lewisburg. Born May 13, 1927, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Jessie (Geedy) Yetter. His wife, Patricia Snook, whom he married Oct. 6, 1956, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, Camala A. Sholley, Beavertown RR1; a sister and brother, Mae Y. Bingman and Don L. Yetter, both of Beavertown; and two grandchildren. He served in the United States Army in Germany. He was part-owner and operator of the former Yetter's Chevrolet from 1949 to 1989. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR Racing and spending time with his grandchildren. He attended St. Paul's UCC Church, Beavertown and he was a member of Heiser-Hoffman VFW Post No. 5640, Paxtonville, and of Beaver Oaks Hunting Camp, Beavertown. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's UCC Church, West Walnut Street, Beavertown with the Rev. George Henry and the Rev. Stanley D. Reep officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown. Friends may call from 1 p.m. Sunday until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's UCC Church, Walnut Street, Beavertown, Pa. 17813. Aurand Funeral Home, Beavertown is in charge of arrangements.

Samuel H. Yetter
LEWISTOWN - Samuel H. Yetter, 59, of 78 Creek Crossing Road, Lewistown, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at Lewistown Hospital. Born June 17, 1939, in Lewistown, he was a son of Harry W. Yetter, Brookline Manor, Mifflintown, and the late Edith (Yoder) Yetter. His wife, Nancy L. (Hartley) Yetter, whom he married June 21, 1961, survives. Also surviving are: children, Marsha L. Cox, Yeagertown, David A. Yetter, Joseph E. Yetter, and Samuel E. Yetter, all of Lewistown; brothers and sisters, Sara Casner and Sandra Yetter, both of McClure, Lola Yetter, Lewistown, and Larry Yetter, East Waterford; two grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren. He was a yarn inspector at Avtex Fibers, Lewistown, retiring on disability. He was a member of Maitland Church of the Brethren and TWUA in Lewistown. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Maitland Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Charles M. Eldridge officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to: American Diabetes Association, 2040 Linglestown Road, Suite 106, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, is in charge of arrangements.

Darwin L. Yocum
MCCLURE - Darwin L. Yocum, 53, of 166 Zanes Lane, McClure, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 11, 2000, at West Penn Hospital, 4800 Friendship Ave., Pittsburgh. Born Dec. 31, 1946, in Lewistown, he was a son of Jean (Ritter) Yocum of Fairless Hills and the late William F. Yocum. His wife, Donna L. (Speck) Yocum, whom he married June 14, 1969, survives. Also surviving are: children, William F. Yocum, 155 Zanes Lane, McClure, Darry L. Yocum and Jeremey L. Yocum, both at home; sisters, Judy Hoffman, Fairless Hills, and Kathy Hanson, Tolleytown; and three grandchildren. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed by Krautkramer-Branson for 23 years, most recently in the capacity of Instrument Fabrication Supervisor. He attended First Baptist Church and was a member of the McClure American Legion Post 942. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Heller- Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Jeffrey D. McCleary officiating. Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery. There will be no public viewing, but family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of memorial contributions, family requests all those willing and eligible to consider bone marrow transplantation.

Samuel Allen 'Sammy' Yocum
MIFFLINTOWN - Samuel Allen "Sammy" Yocum, 20 months, of Mifflintown RR1 died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, as a result of a fire at his home. Born Feb. 10, 1998, in Lewistown, he was a son of Christopher A. Yocum of Mifflintown RR1 and the late Susan A. (Snook) Yocum. Surviving are: paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George C. Yocum, Everett; maternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Mr. and Mrs. Gary L. Snook, Lewistown; paternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Yocum, Mifflintown; paternal great-grandmother, Eleanor Maben, Burnham; and a number of aunts and uncles. His mother, Susan Ann "Susie" Yocum, also died Oct. 20, 1999, as a result of the fire at their home. He was preceded in death by a maternal grandmother, Carol Snook. The funeral service is at 2 p.m. Sunday at Samuel's Cemetery, McClure, with the Rev. Clark S. Kelsey officiating. There will be no public viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christopher A. Yocum Memorial Fund, c/o First National Bank, Mifflintown, PA 17059. Hoentine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Susan Ann 'Susie' Yocum
MIFFLINTOWN - Susan Ann "Susie" Yocum, 29, of Mifflintown RR1 died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, as a result of a fire at her home. Born Oct. 2, 1970, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Gary L. Snook of 440 S. Juniata St., Lewistown, and the late Carol (White) Snook. Her husband, Christopher A. "Yogi" Yocum, whom she married on Oct. 23, 1993, survives. Also surviving are: sisters and a brother, Heidi Weyant, McClure RR2, Gary L. Snook Jr., Lewistown, and Christie Snook, Lewistown; stepmother, Linda Snook, 440 S. Juniata St., Lewistown; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her son, Samuel Allen "Sammy" Yocum, also died Oct. 20, 1999, as a result of the fire at their home. She was a 1988 graduate of Lewistown Area High School and a 1992 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown Campus, with a Bachelor of Science in business. She was employed as assistant manager at Sheetz, Inc., Electric Avenue, Lewistown. She was a member of Samuel's United Church of Christ, McClure. The funeral service is at 2 p.m. Sunday at Samuel's Cemetery, McClure, with the Rev. Clark S. Kelsey officiating. There will be no public viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christopher A. Yocum Memorial Fund, c/o First National Bank, Mifflintown, PA 17059. Hoentine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
