Shirley A. Stoner
MCVEYTOWN - Shirley A. Stoner, 63, of McVeytown, died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 1999, at the Hershey Medical Center.

Born March 15, 1936, in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac A. and Dorothy (Jones) Wainright.

Surviving are: children, Joseph Blewett, McVeytown, Timothy L. Blewett, Columbia, Pa.; a brother, James Hagerty, Rossiter; step-children, Lou Ann Reesman, Larry L. Reesman, Kenneth G. Reesman, and Harold E. Reesman, all of Punxsutawney; and seven grandchildren.

She was a wire inspector at Berk-Tek Inc. in Ephrata, retiring due to disability in 1993.

She was a member of the McVeytown United Methodist Church, McVeytown.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Juniata Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Marian Hartman officiating.

Theo R. Stott
BUTLER - Theo R. Stott, 86, of Butler, formerly of Petersburg and Evans City died at Thursday, March 30, 2000, at Sunnyview Home, Butler.

Born Dec. 4, 1913, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Sheridan and Nancy (Miles) Nale. Her husband, Fred A. Stott, preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1995.

Surviving are: daughters and sons, Mrs. Emmett (Edith) Denton of Clarksville, Tenn., Sheila Slippey of Evans City, William A. Stott, Lewistown and Edward S. Stott, Granville; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

She was a member of Petersburg Zion Lutheran Church, Petersburg.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cutright-Speck Funeral Home, 412 Main St., Alexandria. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Petersburg.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Grace V. Straley
BELLEVILLE - Grace V. Straley, 90, a resident of Valley View Retirement Center, Belleville, died at 6 p.m. Monday, June 28, 1999, at the center.

Born Aug. 8, 1908, in Lewisberry, she was a daughter of the late Franklin P. and Viola (Decker) Straley.

She is survived by a brother and sister, Roy Straley, Ridge Manor, Fla., and Florence Parthemer, York.

She was a graduate of Penn State University and received her master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

She was a school teacher, retiring after teaching all grade levels for many years in Lansdale.

She was a member of West Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, Belleville.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, in the chapel of the Valley View Nursing Home, with the Rev. Samuel Strohm officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to: West Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, 3820 W. Main St., Belleville, PA 17004 or to Valley View Retirement Community, 4702 E. Main St., Belleville, PA 17004.

Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, 217 W. Main St., Belleville, is in charge of arrangements.

William C. Stratford
PORT ROYAL - William C. Stratford, 71, of Port Royal RR2 died at noon Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Healthsouth Nittany Valley Hospital, Pleasant Gap.

Born June 9, 1928, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late William and Grace (Hoffman) Stratford. His wife, Marion L. (Swartzell) Stratford, Port Royal RR2, whom he married May 25, 1979, survives.

Also surviving are: children, William T. Stratford, Beavertown, and Virginia Lyter, Liverpool; stepchildren, Kurt Ferster, Reedsville, and Mrs. Dennis (Linda) Rager, Burnham; half-brother and half-sisters, Dennis Hoffman, Mrs. Donald (Nancy) Peterson and Sandra Hoffman, all of McClure, and Linda Baker, Lewistown; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a stepfather, Merle Hoffman, and a half-brother, Ronald Hoffman.

He was a truck driver and owned and operated Stratford's Auto Body Shop, Lewistown, for a number of years.

He was a member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Marton J. Roberson officiating. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.

There will be no evening viewing, but friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the services Friday at the funeral home.

Kenneth L. Straub
LEWISTOWN - Kenneth L. Straub, 64, of 702-A S. Wayne St., Lewistown, died at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday March 9, 1999, at his home.

Born March 25, 1934, in Snyder County, he was the son of Keamer Straub Sr. of Middleburg and the late Mary (Kuhns) Straub. His wife, Gloria (Yetter) Straub, whom he married March 17, 1997, survives.

Also surviving are: children, Mrs. David (Debra) Wolf, Liverpool and David Straub, Beavertown; brothers and sisters, Marvin Straub and Lewis Straub, both of Paxtonville, Keamer Straub Jr., Middleburg, and Mrs. Junior (Linda) Hassinger, Kissimee; four grandchildren; and step-daughter, Tawnya Yetter, Wilmington, Del.

He was employed as a trucker for 42 1/2 years for Beavertown Block in Middleburg.

He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church, 607 E. Walnut St., Lewistown and of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 143, Lewistown.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. J. S. Wilson and the Rev. Marian Hartman officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice: The Bridge, 1126 W. 4th St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Russell Raymond 'Pappy' Stroup
MCALISTERVILLE - Russell Raymond "Pappy" Stroup, 72, of McAlisterville RR1, died at 4:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at his residence.

Born June 16, 1927, in Snyder County, he was a son of the late Norman Roy and Mae M. (Peters) Stroup. His wife, Nancy E. (Dressler) Stroup, whom he married April 25, 1963, survives.

Also surviving are: a son, Eugene R. "Gene" Stroup, Freeburg; brother and sister, Earl "Pep" Stroup, Richfield RR1 and Mrs. Glen (Erma) Emery, Liverpool RR1; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy E. Stroup, on Aug. 11, 1983, and a sister, Nancy F. Forry, on Dec. 17, 1993.

He was educated in Snyder County schools.

He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

In December 1991, he retired from the Selinsgrove Center, where he was employed for 10 years as a resident aide.

He was an active member of the Church of the Open Door, Richfield RR1, where he served on the Board of Trustees and was a Sunday school teacher.

He helped with the Release Time Program at East Juniata High School and was scout leader for the Richfield Cub Scout Pack 161. He was also a member of Richfield Fire Company & Ambulance League.

He loved the outdoors and family camping outings.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Open Door, Richfield RR1, with the Rev. Joseph R. Heeg officiating. Interment will be in Aline United Methodist Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills RR1.

Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Open Door, RR1, Box 902, Richfield, PA 17086, or to HOSPICE: The Bridge, 1126 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

George P. Garman Funeral Home Inc., Mount Pleasant Mills, is in charge of arrangements.

Florence A. Strausburg
STATE COLLEGE - Florence A. Strausburg, 76, of Fairways at Brookline Nursing Home, State College, and formerly of Lewistown and East Waterford, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 1999, at the nursing home.

Born June 30, 1922, in Beale Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Oliver C. and Mary (Dobbs) Hockenberry. Her husband, William D. Strausburg, died Dec. 5, 1980.

Surviving are: children, Frank O. Strausburg, Lewistown, Mary Burdge, Shippensburg, Janet DeArment, Mifflin, Emma Kauffman, State College; sister, Helen Milliken, Honey Grove; 21 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Glenn Hockenberry and Charles Hockenberry, and a sister, Stella Leach.

She was a member of the East Waterford United Methodist Church and a life member of the East Derry Fire Company.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove, with Pastor Judy Rowles officiating. Interment will be in East Waterford Cemetery.

Friends may call noon-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present 7-9 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, 9 Dorcas St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Larry R. Strauser
MONTOURSVILLE - Larry R. Strauser, 64, of RR5 Box 518, Montoursville, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Williamsport Hospital.

Born Dec. 18, 1934, in Lewistown, he was the son of Ray and Margaret Snyder Strauser.

He is survived by his children, Ned E. Strauser of Morgnaton, W.Va., and Heidi Strauser of Erie.

Also surviving are: brothers and sisters, Ned Strauser, Corning, N.Y., Beverly Manbeck, York, and Peggy Kepner, Lewistown; and one grandson.

He was a professor at Lycoming College and head of the Department of Law Enforcement-Criminal Justice. He was a graduate of Lycoming College and held a master's degree from ArizonaUniversity.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Montoursville Cemetery, with the Rev. Hobart G. Campbell officiating.

Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at Clarke Chapel, Lycoming College, with the Rev. Dr. John F. Piper, Jr., dean of the college, presiding.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. Family will provide all flowers.
